Hi Cruz
what is the structure and contents of the package. What exact errors are you getting when you try deploying the application at deployment time.
How was the initial packaging done, was is with GRNDS or was the packaging done manually. Basically I would like to know hoe were the descriptors generated, was it by iAS or GRNDS.
Please let me know the details
Cheers

  • FDS and Tomcat : Flex Sample App - Contact Manager

    http://localhost:8080/samples/dataservice/contact/contactmgr.mxml
    When loading, I see the contact list load with Randy Carter
    as the default.
    1. Click on New
    2. Fill in my First and Last Name
    I get the following error messages:
    Error
    Unable to access UserTransaction in DataService.
    I followed these directions for Tomcat for installing JOTM
    and editing the conf/server.xml for Tomcat
    http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flex:Install_Instructions
    Please advise on how I can get this sample app to be able to
    add new Contact details.

    If you're getting the error message - "Unable to access
    UserTransaction in DataService", then your transaction services is
    not set up correctly. There is not enough detail in your message to
    diagnosis what the issue is but this is what I would recommend and
    the configuration that works for me.
    (a) During development, get in the habit of running the
    server in debug mode and check for errors in the server console and
    logs frequently, especially when you encounter errors on the
    client.
    For FDS, you'll want to set debug level logging in
    enterprise-services.xml. Restart the server after making changes.
    (b) Double-check that JOTM is configured correctly.
    These are the steps I used to get Flex running with Tomcat
    5.5.17 and JOTM 2.0.10 - the latest versions.
    With Tomcat, there are several different ways of configuring
    the server so this is not the only way of doing things. The
    directions under 'Configuring Tomcat' seems to have the most
    details for all versions of Tomcat -
    http://static.raibledesigns.com/downloads/howto-tomcat-jotm.html
    i. drop the JOTM jars into <tomcat>/common/lib
    ii. add the following line to my application configuration
    file <tomcat>/conf/Catalina/localhost/samples.xml
    <Context
    docBase="c:/dev/flex/enterprise/apps/j2ee/samples"
    privileged="true" antiResourceLocking="false"
    antiJARLocking="false">
    <Transaction
    factory="org.objectweb.jotm.UserTransactionFactory"
    jotm.timeout="60"/>
    </Context>
    iii. restart the server for good measure, check the logs
    localhost-xxxx.log and catalina-xxx.log to be sure that everything
    started correctly.
    (c) Verify that transactions are working correctly with this
    test JSP page. Just drop the jsp page into your web application and
    access from the browser. If you see an exception, go back to the
    JOTM setup. If you see, 'success'. Then proceed with the contact
    manager example.
    <%@ page import="javax.naming.*,javax.transaction.*" %>
    <%
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    UserTransaction tx =
    (UserTransaction)ctx.lookup("java:comp/UserTransaction");
    tx.begin();
    tx.commit();
    %>
    success!
    (d) Run the contact manager sample and try to update a
    contact. If you see "Unable to access UserTransaction in
    DataService", then check the server console and server logs for
    errors and/or exceptions.

    To provide a little context for the problem I am having:
    I am following examples on how to use Essbase based on the book "Look Smarter Than You Are With Essbase" by Edward Roske and Tracy McMullen. I am new to Hyperion and Essbase, and am trying to learn about it and document what it can do. I used the the Sample Applicaiton, Basic database that came with the installation files and opened it in Excel by connecting to Essbase through Provider Services (all of this was done within Excel). The sample is based on a fictious company called The Beverage Company. I set-up a specific view that shows Sales of the Cola product in the East region, comparing the Actual sales with the Budget sales. The Sales of each city within East sum-up into a total for the East region. When I change the Sales in a specific city, like New York, I can successfully hit Submit Data (from the Hyperion menu within Excel), and then can see that it has been updated in the Essbase Administrative Services Console. However, when I try to calculate the data, throught Excel menu Hyperion > Calculation Options > Calculate (like the book says to do), I do not get the same result as the book says. Instead of updating the Total Sales for the East region, it reverts the data entry in the New York cell back to the original value. So essentially, any ability to enter in new data or change budget data, which is the purpose of Planning, is non-functional if I cannot get the Calculate the data I change. Have other people tried to do a similiar task of updating cell data in Excel and calculate it? If so, were the results successful?

  • Asset Manager sample - Custom Query Interface

    Greetings Ladies & Gentlemen -
    I've pretty much reproduced a custom query page in my application
    (copied from the Asset Manager sample application) and it seems to
    perform as expected - well almost !
    When I arrive at the page I get an error message where the
    report would display that reads -
    failed to parse SQL query : ORA - 00936 : missing expression.
    It goes away when I press the Go button, and it reappears when I press
    the Reset button.
    I've set the default for the shuttle and I've created all the same processes for the page.
    Any ideas where this page needs to be corrected ?
    Thanks for your valuable time in advance.
    Brian

  • Cannot install Business Contact Manager - trying to run another application

    Hello
    I am trying to install Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013, but every time when I run the installation file and the file extraction starts, a window opens trying to install a completely different programme - Wunderlist, which I had on my computer.
    I deleted all of the files related to Wunderlist and tried to install BCM again, but the same thing happens over and over again. I took a snapshot of the error message. After every attempt, I find a file of the type ClickOnce Application Deployment Manifest
    related to Wunderlist C:/Users/rg/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/TemporaryInternetFiles/Content.IE5/T5VFSWN6/Wunderlist.application
    Is this a problem with BCM or Wunderlist? Has anybody had a similar problem? Any suggestions how I can solve this issue?

    Hi,
    Make sure you downloaded Business Contact Manager from Microsoft, if no, please download Business Contact Manager from this link below:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36513
    I actually haven't seen the same issue before, you may perform a clean boot to install BCM, this will help forbid the interference by other programs:

  • Sample application v2.0 question

    Oracle 10g ships with sample application v2.0 (#104) which lets you manage orders, products, customers and such. The application has an admin area which is visible only if you log in as admin. In this area you can add new admins or modify the existing ones. I wanted to use the same principle to manage admins on my application so I created new tables, pages, items, processes, etc almost exactly the same as in the sample application. The problem I have is when I want to create new admin user the query fails because it cannot insert null into created_on column (this supposed to be sysdate).
    I created the updateable report and form using tabular form wizard, nothing was entered manually. I haven't seen an option to enter sysdate in the created_on column anywhere. I looked very closely on the sample application to see where how it gets done but I couldn't find sysdate mentioned anywhere on any page related to the admin user management (pages 8 & 9). Can anyone look in the sample application v2.0 and see how is sysdate being entered in the created_on column when adding new admin user?

    user465488,
    The DEMO_USERS.CREATED_ON column is populated via the database trigger BI_DEMO_USERS.

  • PL/SQL SSO SDK Sample Application doesn't work!

    In the latest document on the SSO SDK (http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97329_01/manage.902/a96114.pdf), there is a major programming error in the sample application on page 4-5. There is an invalid EXCEPTION block followed by an invalid ELSE block.
    There is absolutely no help from Oracle Support or Metalink on this issue. I am calling upon all Portal Developers frustrated with this very obvious syntax error to pressure Oracle to rewrite this document ASAP. From what I have read, this seems to be a problem since mid-2000. Let's flood Oracle Support with e-mail demanding this issue to be resolved at the highest priority!
    I can't believe Oracle would allow this document to be released without being thoroughly proofread!

    Bill, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We certainly do our best to avoid documentation inaccuracies. Given the scope of the documentation, unfortuately occationally things slip through and we certainly appreciate it when people take the time to let us know if they find a "doc Bug".
    Hopefully this won't happen too often but just in case (refering to the documentation)
    If you find any errors or have any other suggestions for improvement, please indicate the title and
    part number of the documentation and the chapter, section, and page number (if available). You can

  • JSF sample application in WLP 10.3.2

    Hi All,
    I am new to JSF and trying to build a sample application in WLP 10.3.2.
    I created a jsp with simple form and submit. Created a JSF portlet with that JSP. When I try to deploy and run the portlet, I get this error on the console.

    A best practice in this situation is to check on a running sample e.g. Oracle ADF: Security for Everyone
    I guess your resource grants are not set correctly.

  • BPM Sample Applications Released

    Hello All,
    I would like to announce the release of the new package of BPM sample applications using SAP NetWeaver BPM technology.  SAP customers and partners will find them ready-to-run in the [Enterprise Services Workplace|http://esworkplace.sap.com] (ES Workplace) ([http://esworkplace.sap.com|http://esworkplace.sap.com]) environment, together with technical documentation, process models, coding, and demo data. They serve as a starting point and accelerator for SOA projects using SAP NetWeaver BPM, and as a tool for demo and training purposes.
    These  BPM sample applications are implementations of typical business processes, such as:
        u2022     Approve Sales Order Change Request
        u2022     Approve Purchase Requisition and Create Purchase Order
        u2022     Manage Leave Request
        u2022     Unexpected Returns Handling
        u2022     Phase In Equipment
    In addition, the SOA landscape hosted on the ES Workplace site has been upgraded to Support Package 3 of SAP ERP 6.0 Enhancement Package 4. It comes with refreshed IDES test data, which allows customers and partners to apply updated and standardized test data to their demos, tests and development. To get immediate benefit, customers and partners need to renew their passwords as of November 2, 2009. All registered ES Workplace users will be informed via email by next week.
    You can share your experience with the samples in this BPM forum. If you have any questions, post them here as well, I will try to answer everyone.
    Thanks, Preslav

    Hi Manish,
    thanks for the feedback. You are right, we omitted exception handling in the process for this first set of BPM Samples fully focusing on the business process and the enterprise services. For a real productive solution exception handling needs to be added, of course - but for the purpose of BPM Simple Samples this would distract from the essential parts. We are currently considering more complex Samples which then will also include exception handling using the features of upcoming NetWeaver BPM 720.
    Regarding your question about best practice of using business rules, can you please be a bit more specific which BPM Sample and task you are referring to?
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • BPM Simple Sample Application Error!!!

    hi,
    i have some problems with the bpm simple sample applications on our local sap nw ce system (7.1 ehp1 sp0)?
    on the esworkplace i have download the *.sca file and have import this file into my nwds.
    i following the simple sample documentation an define and configure the ERP and ERP_META Destinations on the nwds and our local sap nw ce system.
    also i do the future steps which was described (service registry, proxy settings, ...).
    on page 16 of the simple sample documetation is defined which Sofware Component has dependencies to other SC´s.
    the SC "BPEM_BUILDT" depends on the SC "ESMP_BUILDT" and "COMP_BUILDT", the SC "COMP_BUILT" doesnt exist on my nwds (7.1 ehp1 sp0).
    has everybody any idea why the SC "COMP_BUILT" not exist on my nwds???
    still this absent SC i can deploy the bpm simple sample successful to our sap nw ce system.
    now i do the post deployment steps for the bpm samples.
    after this i call the simple sample application on my sap nw ce portal and can execute the "Initiate Equipment Phase In Process".
    now i can see a new entry on my uwl, i open the uwl task.
    at step 1, 2, 3 i change no data an click next, after step 3 (create equipment) i get the following error:
    com.sap.esi.esp.service.server.query.discovery.ExtendedServiceException: no endpoints found for interface <br>
