Hello,
i have just login into skype and found my display name changed to yvonne?
my contacts are also deleted and the only contact is a person named eugene.
dont really know whats happening. can someone help me please?

Looks bad. I would strongly advise backing up the stuff on the other two partitions as soon as possible in case the rest of the drive goes wrong.
Beyond that, Disk Utility has limited abilities to repair disks, DiskWarrior uses a different approach and might, emphasis might be more successful. It has certainly done the job for me in the past when Disk Utility could not.

On one of my sharepoint page, I want to populate dropdown list with countries, namely

In the code, I use LINQ:

Share Name, Printer Name and display name for End User

We are being forced to standardize printer names. So, for example, a printer that is on the print server might have the following properties:
NAME: PR25739
SHARE NAME: Clinic Admin Office
SERVER NAME: A700500
The share name seems to be pointless - almost vestigial. When a user maps to the printer, it is named (on their device) PR25739 on A700500. They can't change it, I can't change it - indeed, the Name field is disabled during the Install Printer
Wizard. The whole point of the share name, to me, is to make something that is user-friendly with context and useful information. But the sharename seems to be completely ignored. Is there any setting I can change that will make this printer
map so that it is displayed to the user as Clinic Admin Office or even Clinic Admin Office on A700500? Solutions that must take place on the EUD are not solutions - the name needs to be correct out of the box.

Unfortunately, no. The standardization mandate specifically states "printer name" - changing the Share Name was my last ditch attempt to inject some sense and serve my users. Right now, I have 5 printers mapped, and they look like this:
PR25737 on A700500
PR25739 on A700500
PR12336 on A700500
PR35127 on A700500
PR29764 on A700500
I know to use the location field in the printer dialog, but I don't expect my users will - and without that, even I can't keep up with what printer goes to what physical device.

Form name and Program name change

I have created a smartform and a driver prog & saved them in 2 requests. Now i want to change the name of both but dont want to chnage the request numbers . Please advice how can i do that.

You can't rename the form name.
So create a new form and copy the old form into the new one.
Assign the New program and form in the NACE tcode or at some other point.
While creating a new form , it will ask for a request assign the same old request in which old form is there.
similarly you can rename the Program to new one and add into the same request of old program. and release the request and use
if you want you can delete the old form name and program name from the request also.

OS X Server clients can't login after IP renumber and domain Name change

I can not seem to get the logins working again on my OS X server (10.9.4 w/ server 3.1.2 on a 1 yr old. MacMini) after I needed to renumber the IP and change the domain name. I destroyed the Open Directory server, recreated it and created one test account. If I log in to the client with a local account I can connect to the server (Go>Connect To Server) from the client using my newly created account, but when I try to login to the server using the same network account login I get the "shaking head" response immediately. I have rebound the server to this client and it says that network accounts are available, but seem to be at a loss to understand why it won't let me login...
The only error message I see in any of the logs is the following:
(AFP Error Log:) Sep 15 20:21:47 isis.mydomain.com AppleFileServer[3032] <Info>: major error <1>: No credentials were supplied, or the credentials were unavailable or inaccessible.
I'm not sure what credentials it is referring to. I created a self signed certificate that I am using with OD, could that be the one?

Many Open Directory problems can be resolved by taking the following steps. Test after each one, and back up all data before making any changes.
1. The OD master must have a static IP address on the local network, not a dynamic address.
2. You must have a working DNS service, and the server's hostname must match its fully-qualified domain name. To confirm, select the server by name in the sidebar of the Server application window, then select the Overview tab. Click the Edit button on the Host Name line. On the Accessing your Server sheet, Domain Name should be selected. Change the Host Name, if necessary. The server must have at least a three-level name (e.g. "server.yourdomain.com"), and the name must not be in the ".local" top-level domain, which is reserved for Bonjour.
3. The primary DNS server used by the server must be 127.0.0.1 (that is, itself) unless you're using another server for internal DNS. The only DNS server set on the clients should be the internal one, which they should get from DHCP if applicable.
4. Follow these instructions to rebuild the Kerberos configuration on the master.
5. If you use authenticated binding, check the validity of the master's certificate. The common name must match the hostname and domain name. Deselecting and then reselecting the certificate in Server.app has been reported to have an effect in some cases. Otherwise delete all certificates and create new ones.
6. Unbind and then rebind the clients in the Users & Groups preference pane. Use the fully-qualified domain name of the master.
7. Reboot the master and the clients.
8. Don't log in to the server with a network user's account.
9. Disable any internal firewalls in use, including third-party "security" software.
10. If you've created any replica servers, delete them.
11. As a last resort, export all OD users. In the Open Directory pane of Server, delete the OD server. Then recreate it and import the users. Ensure that the UID's are in the 1001+ range.

AD display name change is wrong

When using SAWeb to import a subscriber (exchange) the application puts the exchange alias in the display name field and this cannot be changed, this then updates AD and hence the display name in AD is wrong. I noticed an earlier post talking about bug CSCeb24466 and wondered if this would affect me in this way as I'm not using the Bulk Import Tool?

I have run into this problem today and am about to log a case with the TAC. My situation is a new Cisco Unity 4.0.3 Unified Messaging in an existing AD/Exchange environment. Unity Administration has been set up to import existing users only.
When importing new Unity users from Exchange, the Display Name in the Unity Web Administration page is reading the Calling Name (cn) value from Active Directory when selecting the user to import and then overwriting the Display Name in AD when the user is added.
(I have just read Bug CSCeb54025 and this is exactly the issue, will chase the ES from the TAC)
When we deny write access to the Display Name for the UnityDirSvc account, we are unable to add users to Unity.
Why does this account require access to write any fields on the AD user account except the cisco attributes? The customer does not wish Unity Account Administrators to be able to change non-cisco Active Directory fields (such as First Name, Last Name, Display Name etc.) through the Unity interface unless crucial to the operation of Unified Messaging.
Any suggestions??

KMC Resource Eventing: Rename and display name/description

I'm wondering about the behavior of ResourceEvent.RENAME.
When a KMC resource is renamed, its 'old' properties can be accessed by ResourceEvent.PRE_RENAME. On ResourceEvent.RENAME, the new RID is propagated but not the new displayname and description. These are set afterwards on ResourceEvent.PROPERTY_SET. Why isn't this propagated before the RENAME event is thrown? I register with the broker in synchronous mode.

quite interesting thread, for I'm doing this just three weeks later.
Anyhow, one answer and one question:
Christian, you talked about the SET-Template. This should be relevant for updating content, not properties. Maybe as Helmut wrote, your use case (using some UI functionality) also updates the content together with the properties. But in general, PROPERTY_SET should be the right thing.
Helmut: I need, as Christian did, the old name of the display name as well as the new one. But there is no PRE_PROPERTY_SET!?!? How to access the old name? In my use case, probably there will no other event be thrown (when renaming a collaboration room; no content, no RID change).

Quit and relaunch Mail, if you haven't already done that.

Shockwave MSI Problem and Flash name changes

1) The Shockwave 10 MSI is not suitable for easy
redeployment. It does not
detect itself correctly when added to an MSI as a nested
product. This means
that unless I manually detect it
and Flash it causes a 1713 error on installation.
Whilst I know that nested MSIs are not the prefered method of
redeployment
according to microsofts guidlines. It is the only way to
achieve such and
allow easy network deployment through Group Policy.
The reason being that you cannot invoke a second MSIExec
outside of the UI
Sequence and Group Policy Deployments do not have a UI
Sequence becuase they
are silent.
I know we could request that the network administrators
install shockwave
seperately, but our clients are schools and the network techs
are often not
very knowledgable about modern networks.
2) Why have you changed your policy of the naming of flash
from simply
Flash.ocx with a version number to a new name for every
single version. This
has broken our detection mechanism and is now leading to 1904
errors becuase
our installer is trying to register an older version of flash
(Basically we
use theWindows Installer standard mechanism of signitures to
detect the
presence of an application and then filter by version) . The
detection
strategy you describe on your site is fine for use in a web
browser but does
not seem feasible within the windows installer engine. At
least not as far
as I can tell.
Is there a registry entry or some file which is guaranteed to
both not
change over time and which will show the version installed?

You can programatically open connecitons to Shared Variables. This allows you to decide at runtime the IP address, lib name and SV name you wish to connect to. I've attached a vi snippet the demonstrats an Action Engine to handle the connection to a SV named "Parameters".
I normally store the cRIO_Settings in a .INI file that is easy to modify.

Contact deleted: birthday remains and cannot be deleted

I'm having a problem recently that i was not able to fix....
I had a contact (setup with all informations together with birthday....) wich i don't see anymore....so i thinked about deleting his contact....
The contact went away easily, but the birthday did not get deleted...and there is no option to manually delete it....
I've also created a new contact to see if the problem was reproducible...and i cannot delete the birthday on none of the contacts....!! any suggestions?

Communicate with cRIO when IP Address and DNS Name changes over Network Variables

I am developing a LabVIEW software for an European Project using cRIO-9074 and RT Application Reployment to update all cRIO devices with the last version.
To communicate with the cRIO devices I have also developed some applications that are outside cRIO on LabVIEW Project that uses Network Variables to Read/Write to the devices.
When I am developing the software, everything works just fine because the LabVIEW Project knows the IP Address on my cRIO device. However, when I use RTAD to install the software and then my applications outside the LabVIEW Project, the aplications are, not always able to find the device when the IP address changes.
I have tried to replace the IP Address with the DNS Name but no success. When I change the router that is connected to the cRIO, the DNS Name also changes.
With this, my question is how can I solve this sistematic problem? Should I change any configuration on MAX, in LabVIEW Project and/or in the applications to be able to always find the cRIO? Is it possible to have a field on the application to insert the IP Address of the device to connect? If yes, how can I do this?

Why are my file and folder names changing randomly? (Appending Dates)

Recently Finder has taken to randomly (it seems) appending the date to various folder and file names. For example today I dragged a file from Destop into Documents folder and the file name changed immediately after the move:
From: wedding-invite.pdf
To: wedding-invite 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013 12/11/2013.pdf
This has happed to folder names as well with different amounts of replication and different dates (usually today's date or document creation date). It happens to some files and folders but not to others. Those that it does happen to have no UNDO trail for the particular action (like Undo Move for example).
Very frustrating - any assistance would be appreciated.
I am running nothiong special (I do run Google Drive on my iMac). Also Time Machine.
