ContainsAnyFilter, ContainsFilter appears not to work.

Question

We have a requirement to be able to determine if an object in the cache has one of a particular id in a list of ids that the stored object exposes as a property. Unfortunately, using the ContainsAnyFilter or the ContainsFilter always produces an empty result set. This is from a .Net client.
We have an object in our cache that exposes a property that is an array of integers. We have a requirement to query the cache and return the objects that have a particular integer in that array. The java object implements PortableObject and has the following properties (among others):
public void setObjectIds(int[] objectIds) {
     this.objectIds = objectIds;
public int[] getObjectIds() {
     return objectIds;
public void setCreated(Date created) {
     this.created = created;
public Date getCreated() {
     return created;
There is a corresponding .Net object implemented.I have no problem getting results from a query against the Created property as follows:
ICacheEntry[] cacheEntries = cache.GetEntries(new GreaterFilter("getCreated", dateTime));However, the following always returns an empty array:
ICacheEntry[] cacheEntries = cache.GetEntries(new ContainsFilter("getObjectIds", id));If the objects are returned manually using their key, the ObjectIds property does indeed return an array of the integers specified so the objects are getting stored and retrieved correctly.
Is this the correct way to query this sort of code? Do we need to add an index to do this (I was under the impression that was not necessary as they are hints rather than requirements)? We are on 3.5.1.

I'm just going to take a wild guess on this one...
Would you be able to test with your java type having an Integer array rather than the primitive type array?
ie.
public void setObjectIds(Integer[] objectIds) {
     this.objectIds = objectIds;
public Integer[] getObjectIds() {
     return objectIds;
}
