Content Alignment and Spacing between UI elements

Hi,
In my VC model, i have a form (where the user enters search criteria), below the form, the results are displayed in a Tableview, below the table view i have a TEXTVIEW to display the error message like "No Records Found".
I am able to control the visibility of the TEXT VIEW based on number of rows in table, but when i display the error message, the space occupied by TABLEVIEW remains blank and my error message comes well below the table view.
Is there any way the blank space can be taken off and the error message moves right near the FORM.

Hi Niki,
Use Vgutter property of buttons, use medium or large to make distance between buttons.
OR
Use Invisible UI Element and place between buttons it will give gap, give width of invisible element to move.

Problems with guides and spacing between pages?

I am trying to get the guides to show on some of the pages but they won't? And as a result the pages have suddenly spaced out stangely. Please see im age below.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Check the pasteboard setting in your preferences. If it's okay, then export the file to IDML and open that.

Auto alignment and sizing in form elements- can't turn it off

For some reason a certain form I'm working on in Acrobat 9 Professional on Mac, Leopard 10.5.8, has a problem.
It has a feature enabled that I can't figure out how to disable. Form elements sizes and positions are not adjustable in the micro range as usual. A button is a given height and can only be adjusted to twice or thrice (etc.) that height. Similarly, it can only be moved in the same increments. It can't be nudged.
I am accustomed to being able to nudge with mouse or arrows in such small increments that the form elements seem infinitely adjustable in size or position.
Is there a setting somewhere that disables this feature?

Scale9Grid and content alignment

I've just started using fb3 and while converting my fb2
project, I've come to notice that the scale9grid of the container's
skin now by default affects how the content is aligned. Although
otherwise changes to margin/padding attributes feel welcome, this
in particular makes me feel like going back to the dark ages of
html tables, where content can't overlap with the surrounding skin
parts and has to fit inside the stretching part of the skin.
Okay, pretty quickly I discovered that setting ClipContent to
false allows placing the content in relation to the container's
(and skin's) top-left corner but still, for instance, setting
content's width or height to 100% sets it's size to match the
scale9grid's inner rectangle instead of container's size.
It's still possible to hack through this by setting negative
padding values to counter the effect of the scale9 margins but it's
really a drag. Container's width and height still match the size of
the skin, not the stretching square of the scale9, so why can't the
content alignment and paddings default to this?

... still, setting clipContent = false is hardly a solution
if you want scrollable content... unless you add another
transparent container to clip the content and control scroll.

Getting them right wasn't too hard although some components
still lacked ability to tweak paddings/borderThickness.. Now, I
wonder how far I can get with flex3 when it's trying to stretch the
skin each time around the content? If you look at the panel skins,
you'll notice that the skin has some graphic style behind the panel
content. The stretching gridsquare is below and to the right of
this, so the panel stretches alright, but it's obvious that I
wouldn't want the content to follow the scalegrid in any way. Only
thing the content should obey are the paddings (
'borderThicknesses' in flex2).

Change itunes window content size and layout

If I use any app, I can resize the window, and resize the contents. And change between boxes and lists. By clicking on the "view" tab on the toolbar menu.
Where is the information on how to change the view of the itunes app window on computer? I don't want huge boxes taking up 3/4 of my screen, that I have to scroll to even see. I want lists, and a resizeable window LIKE ANY OTHER APP. Cannot find ability to change this ANYWHERE! Please! What clever person thought this up and does apple at least give users the ability to change it??? And put it in the "view" toolbar menu, like other apps do, so we can find it? Duh. This takes up nearly my whole screen:

Well i generate a report which has two three columns.....
1) Description
2) Column 1 for fiscal year 2009
3) Column 2 for fiscal year 2008 for comparison
Here after these columns we have unformated space as a column.
Now we tried to hide this column but the system is not allowing to hide this.
How can we remove this unformatted column/space from the print output.

ABAP webdynpro how to give spacing between the UI Elements in a view

Hi Expert,
I am very new to webdynproapplication development. I am stuck in changing the look of the ui elements of the view.
Cud anyone explain how to set the spaces between the UI Elements on a View is there any method ?
I have set the Layout property to Matrix layout. But here I am unable to set the spacing between the deffernet elements as it is taking it automaticaaly and I am not able to allign all the Elements.

Hi anushree.,
If u are using matrix layout:
In Layout Data select MatrixHeadData to display UI in next line.,
If u want to give space between UI elements in the width enter 50, 60, 70 or what ever space u want.
Also in the vGutter u can select medium , large , medium with rule to give space between UI elements.
n if u want to give space between lines ., in the height enter 30 40 or whatever spacing between lines u want.,
Matrix layout is a good layout., and u can play with colspan , hAlign, vAlign, vGutter, width and height options.,
If u dont like the layout with these options then use Grid layout., where u can give custom spacing., with the help of Left Padding, Right Padding, Top Padding, Bottom Padding.

TextField and CSS: How to control spacing between paragraphs

I'm using an external CSS to format a textField that has some
HTML text in it, let's say something similar to this:

How can I control the spacing between paragraphs when there
is no support for margin-top or margin-bottom? I don't want to add
empty or elements to my text since they
don't allow exact control and insert too much space. Is there any

I think rob day's suggestion has merits too. Either way I
don't see any other way but inserting an extra element that adjusts
the spacing somehow.
Yes, it sucks that the majority of styling declarations are
not supported but, on the other hand, it is not such a big deal to
insert an element especially with the powerful XML tools in AS3.
You can create a function that will preprocess all XML "page"
nodes and insert an extra tag after each tag
(see attached code)
I did not check if code works - it is just a concept.
The same approach can be taken with rob's suggestion but
inside the element that comes with the XML.

How to center menu and add spacing between buttons?

See how the menu button are justified the left of the light pink menu bar? How can I put them in the center?
I would like to know how to center the menu, and then add spacing between the buttons.
At one point I added spacing between the buttons using CSS padding, but when I did that the last menu button, "Graphics" ran off the pink menu bar and became invisible and all kinds of crazy ugly stuff!

So as long as the width of the buttons plus the padding doesn't go over 900px it won't run off the page?
Right.   The "box model" in CSS works like this:
width + padding + border = actual visible/rendered width of box
height + padding + border = actual visible/rendered height of box.

You can't center floated menu items. The best you can do is make your menu fit the entire width of the container (or as close as you can) as described in PART 1 above.
To center your #menu container, use margin:0 auto;
To center text, use text-align:center on the #menu li a.

[SOLVED] Spacing between start menu and tray icons lost

Hi,
I am using KDEmod + Arch
After todays upgrade, spacing between start menu at the left and tray icons at the right lost making the tray icons align to the left side of the tray. An X mark in a red box appeared in between on mouse hover, shows the message that : Unable to load the widget, could not find the requested component: stasks.

You're using the stasks plasma widget, which likely just needs to be recompiled for kde 4.3.3, as it was just upgraded from 4.3.2 in Arch's Extra repository and I imagine the same applies to KDEMod.
pacman -Q | grep stask will likely show you what the stasks plasma widget is called.
If it's a kdemod package or returns nothing (meaning stasks is in some other plasma applet package, perhaps kdemod-plasma-applets or something.. pacman -Q | grep plasm would show all such packages with 'plasma' in the name), you'll need to recompile it with ABS or just post on the KDEMod forum and wait for them to update it. If you haven't rebooted since upgrading, there's sometimes something out of my ability to explain which causes KDE stuff not to show up / work properly even after running 'kbuildsycoca4' or 'kbuildsycoca' or killing and restarting kdm until said reboot.
The two stasks plasmoids I see in the arch user repository are "stasks-manager-plasmoid" (which you're likely using) and "plasma-stasks-patched-plasmoid-hg". If pacman -Q | grep stask shows one of those, simply recompile it via yaourt -S name_of_the_widget, and you should be good to go on logout/in or reboot or what have you.
Short:
Run in konsole: pacman -Q | grep stask
If it shows something with "kdemod" in the name or returns nothing, you should probably post a bug report with the KDEMod/Chakra guys at chakra-project.org (bug tracker is currently down, use the forums). If it shows "stasks-manager-plasmoid" or "plasma-stasks-patched-plasmoid-hg", recompile it via yaourt -S name_of_the_package and log out/in (or reboot if necessary.. it shouldn't be though).

Good day! Could someone explain me what's the difference between Telepresence Content Server and MSE 3500? Why do I need to obtain two these devices for sorting out my tasks? I want to understand gist of the first and the second devices.

In addition to what Jonathan posted above, here is a Capture Transform Share Solution Guide that goes over a little bit of what the TCS and MXE are and some possible deployment scenarios.
In short, TCS is used to record video conferences or lectures that can be streamed on demand or live using various streaming or distribution methods. One such distribution method is using the MXE 3500 to ingest the recordings from TCS and convert them to different media types and add in-video content such as logos etc. However, from the MXE, you can't send the video back to the TCS for viewing, you'd need to send that off to another viewing portal such as Show and Share.

I just statred Flash CC for the first time and it seems that the text within the pop-up window (dialog box) is mis-aligned and not allowing me access to the command buttons, nor all the text. (ie: the NEW Template Box, can't see but 2/3 of the content)

Diff. between content server and archive server(SARA on content server)

I am very interested about difference between content server and archive server. Is there content server supplied by SAP and archive server by third party producers or something else?
If so dditionally what needs to be done to archive data (via Sara) on content server. I did it on sap R/3 4.0 on an archive server. Is it huge difference to do it on 4.7x2 on content server?

The content server is used to save documents,
and SARA (and other third party producers) are used to archive old data.
For example:
You should use Content server - When you need to save un-structured data about worker (e.g: pictures, documents and etc) .
You should use SARA (and other third parties) - When you need to move to archive old
worker which have left your organization before 5 or more years (there for they are not relevant for you)

Cannot view content text and elements in Dreamweaver

Hi,
I am not an expert in Dreamweaver, still learning. Would anyone tell me why when I open up the template in Dreamweaver's design view I cannot see the content text and other elements to edit or view? However, all those are still viewable in browsers. I can edit content only through code mode in Dreamweaver, not in design view. I am attaching the whole template for you to see.

Found it in the last line of the code, it's a Joomla template.
The only real way to use this with dreamweaver is with one of the extensions for dreamweaver (not 100% required, but difficult without one), there are a number of extensions available (sorry, but none are free that I know of).
