Content Categorizer - manipulating document before CC starts processing

Hi,
I've installed the CC component and I want to check in an xml file which will have some of its metadatas (re)set from the content of itself. I want this to happen after I manipulate in some way the xml file. So the flow would be something like: alter xml file -> categorize xml file -> check in xml file. Currently it's categorize->alter->checkin.
For altering the xml file before check-in I use a Filter, event validateStandard, but this is not helping me so that I can modify the xml file before CC kicks in.
Is it possible to force CC to execute my method first(altering xml file) and then continue with the normal flow(categorize,checkin) ? or which is the best practice of doing such thing?
I have the AddCCToNewCheckin component enabled also.

Thanks ctarwater for your answering. I'v tried to compile 1.4.1 and 1.3.11 versions.
But now I've solved my problem. I created the package in two ways: extracting data from the deb package and compiling the sources. The first way doesn't work (with scangear, the scanner utility, it works: then there is something about CUPS communication). The second way works configuring all the source directories (and not only the ppd directory) with the option --program-suffix=mp250..

./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr --program-suffix=mp250 --enable-progpath=/usr/bin
make
make install
where DIRECTORY is libs, cngpj, cnijfilter, pstocanonij, lgmon, backend, backendnet, cngpijmon/cnijnpr, pdd. It's important to make a link:
ln -s /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstocanonijmp250 /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstocanonij
if the CUPS printers page says that /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstocanonij doesn't exist. I've maked a package on AUR at http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=33257.

Thank you everyone for the answers to my previous post. Another Postscript problem which we are now trying to solve,
is the following printer behaviour: getting our postscript datastream, printer first goes through the whole document,
ripping every page (or so it seems) and only then it starts printing the first page and further. Our datastreams are usually
large, tens thousandth of pages, so it takes very long before a printer starts to print. What could cause such a behaviour?
Something at the end of the file, which interpreter needs to take into account? Some special settings at prologue?

What you describe is not normal behaviour for PostScript implementations and is not something that is a feature of the PostScript language. The interpreter does not attempt to process the entire job prior to passing any of the rendered pages off to be imaged.
You give no idea as to what type or brand of PostScript printer is exhibiting this behaviour, but the behaviour is likely type and/or model and/or vendor-specific. Contact the technical support group for your printer or RIP vendor for specific answers to this question.

1, Can anyone explain what is the funtionality of Start Processing of documents node,
what is its usage, and when and how itis made use of and what are the benifits of this,
2, Process Catagory : a,CV04 and b,Call websenarios are defined
what is this Call websenarios ? its requirement, function, and
usage
3, i found there is an Usage of funtional module in node Start processing for documents, and making use of DMS_PROC_DOC_DELETE, and Z_DMS_PROC_REPORT created, but i did not get the exact usage of this and how and at what time it is going to function. its linkages and interaction?

Start Processing of documents:
this activity is only necessary if you want to start enterprise-specific processes from the result screen for the document.
here you can integrate enterprise-specific processes in the scenario Document search on the web.
the enterprise-specific processes can be started from the result of the document search for one or more documents. when u have entered several processes and started the function Start Process you see a dialog box with the process list.
Ex:
the interface for the function modules that control these enterprise-specific processes is predefined,
CV210_PROC01 (collection CV, function group CV210)
this function module has an interface for the integration of enterprise-specific processes.
DMS_PROC_DOC_DELETE (collection CV, function group CV100)
this function module is an example program. you can set the deletion indicator documents.

Thanks but have tried that - When I try to restore I get a -50 error and into a loop of taking another back up. I took a copy of the back up before the IOS upgrade and have it stored on my desk top but I cannot get Itunes to restore to that back up

I was thinking of buying the WD MyCloud box and your words of wisedom inspired me to take a risk, getting one of these for myself. It's always a gamble buying new technology bits and hoping it will do, what you expect it to do.
First thing I did was connect the WD MyCloud to my network (entrirely 1 Gb network capable ports - including router).I updated the firmware to the latest via the network connection, which was reasonably quick to update.
Everything worked perfectly, straight from go, the 3 Tb of data I had on my former Seagate GoFlex (manually connected to a SATA port on my P.C) only took a few hours to completely copy across. I tried transferring the wholelot across via the Seagate GoFlex 100mB/s ethernet port, but that was horrendously slow.
I loved the way I could get access to this device, via the internet, (wd2go.com) to the files stored on my WD MyCloud (at home). It indeed acted as a "Cloud" device for me as I could map the connection to a network drive on my P.C and then
copy files across to my P.C (wherever I am) - Just drag and drop from explorer and it's pretty quick to transfer across as well.
I just wanted to say this box is fanatastic and I am very happy with it. I know there have been a few critics out therewho haven't had good things to say, but I think they need to make sure everything fits the criteria for successful results,
which this device is well capable of producing. I had the experience of using a Seagate GoFlex device and that took a while before I got things working reasonably
well for me. It's good to have a device that now well exceeds the capability of this former device.
Very happy with this WD MyCloud and my experiences with it.

Return Sales process, Posting billing document before return delivery

Hello SAP Experts,
Please guide me to map the Return Sales process scenario.
I need this to map a scenario for Return Sales from one country to other country.
Scenario is as follow:
u2022     I had created return delivery directly without any previous sales order. (VA01)
u2022     I want to return money in advance to customer before return deliver. (I donu2019t know whether it is debit memo or credit memo) (VF01)
u2022     Return delivery.(VL01N)
Please help me to map this scenario.
If possible please send the document to create Billing document before delivery against sales order and also configuration document for the same?

Scenario is as Below
Customer in Belgium wants to return some material which he has purchased from Vendor in South Korea in month Jan 2010.
Customer in Belgium has created Return Purchase order and Goods return document with movement type 161.
Vendor in South Korea has Created Return Sales order with Z document type.
As per standard process Customer in Belgium need to create Credit Memo after Goods Return by 161 movement, but canu2019t do that because some legal implications and so canu2019t send the Credit memo to customer in South Korea.
So Customer in Belgium is expecting Credit Memo first from Vedor.
So Vendor in South Korea, need to Create Credit Memo first before creating Return delivery.
Hopes this clears exact scenario.
Please advice how to create Credit memo first after Return sales order. If configuration is necessary for this, please advice to do it.
In brief, Vendor in South Korea, has Created Return Sales order and he want to create Credit memo before creating Return Delivery without Credit Memo from customer.

One of the process u can add is the Mass deletion Indicator for the DIR s from the Search function.
Use function module DMS_PROC_DOC_DELETE in the "Start processing" node
If u enabale this, in cv04n results screen, u can see a button called Process and using the same you can set Mass deletion indicators for DIR's

Content Server Report- Document types with file sizes & Status history

We are about to start with implementing Seal Systems, however we are a global company with to start with 4 content servers in different regions of the world. In order to determine bandwidth for future strategies, I need to know what is stored on each content server in terms of document types, type file and size of files attached to each document type and of course date created and status changes of each document.
In addition we are of course contemplating usage of SAP Cache servers, not only for better responses, but also for backup purposes.
What we are using is SAP ECC 6 with the content servers using MAX DB. I have contemplated creating a Z program in order to return only the required information for import in Excel where I can then manipulate the returned result to a report which fits us.
But before I start with this, does anyone know of any report or tools just to do that within SAP? I have seen these capabilities in other PLM solutions.
I would appreciate any feedback in this regard

maybe transaction DB20 could help you here.
From DMS side tables DMS_PHIO2FILE and DMS_PH_CD1 are most relevant for original data stored in Content Server.
Regarding the changes of documents report MCDOKABL will show you all the changes done for a specific document.
For maintaining and monitoring content repositories please see transaction CSADMIN.

Table of contents not showing items before it

I have a document which has to follow a strict format. It must have pages in the following order:
Cover page
Title page
Acknowledgements
Table of contents
Various other stuff
I've set up a table of contents and it's working fine, except it isn't showing items that appear before it. All I want is for the Acknowledgements page (which is immediately before the TOC) to show up in the TOC, but I can't get it to work.
Is this just a limitation of Pages? Does the TOC only ever show items that appear after it?

Unfortunately for you, according to the Pages '09 User Guide, Chapter 3 Using Table Of Contents says the following:
Creating and Updating a Table of Contents
Each table of contents (TOC) you create using a Word Processing template lists only the content that follows it, up until the next table of contents. If you want a master table of contents for the entire document, it must be the only table of contents, and it must be at the beginning of the document.

I need some help with my script. It copies the file to the remote laptops but when it needs to install the .exe it fails.
If I run 1 line at the time in Powershell ISE, then it works. Somebody has an idea why it doesn't work or can help me on the right way?

CDESK: How to get a customized content in the document list tab

I try to get a specific list of document info records (DIR's) in the document list tab of the CDESK - similar to the document search result.
I use the Addin-BADI and the ~PROCESS_NEW_FUNCTIONS/~ADD_NEW_FUNCTIONS methods to start a costumer specific selection of DIR's.
For instance I want to select all documents with contain the digits 99.
Then I want to show the selection result as the content of the document list tab to proceed with further steps like ckeck-out and so on.
I followed an example which I found in this forum, see thread "CDESK: Start userdefined search program and recieve DIRs".
My coding is:
method if_ex_cdesk_tbm_addin~process_new_functions.
    when 'ZFCODE_ARBVOR'.
      data lt_draw type table of draw.
      select * from draw into table lt_draw
        where dokar = 'TKD'
          and doknr = '99'.
      sort lt_draw stable by dokar doknr doktl dokvr ascending.
      delete adjacent duplicates from lt_draw comparing dokar doknr doktl dokvr.
      PERFORM refresh_sap_list IN PROGRAM saplcdesk TABLES lt_draw USING 'X'.
But nothing happens with the document list when executing this customer function.
I assume it is not possible to update the document list out of a BADI in that way.
Does anyone has some hints?

Hi Khaled,
There is an standard RFC RFC_READ_TABLE which can read any table in R/3. But the data returned will be unformatted hence you need to parse it. This FM has few limitations aswell.
RFC_READ_TABLE is an RFC that allows users to read a table remotely. This is important particularly to Java developers using JCO to communicate with an ABAP back-end. Unfortunately, RFC_READ_TABLE has size limitations; it also incorrectly reads binary data. Also no authorization checking takes place.

While cancelling the exice invoice thru J1iex , system is giving me an error message "Reverse the material document before cancelling the excise invoice" .......I checked PO history where all the material documents are already cancelled with MIGO cancellation (movement 106 )
But in J1iex , if I select the cancel option and put this invoice number , it is showing me one document with status "IN PROCESS" and if I select that doc and try to save it. System prompted me the message "Reverse the material document before cancelling the excise invoice ,but if I am trying to post this document system is issuing me a message "All Part I entries have been canceled for excise invoice ...........xx.Exicse table J_1IGRXREF and J_1IPART1 alrady update with both documents.kindly any one suggest me positive.

follow the below steps
1. MIGO:Cancel the material document (movement type 102) & during cancellation update part1 only. This changes the excise invoice document status to In process
2. J1IEX:Post the excise invoice referring the material document (of movement type 102). Creates an accounting document to reverse the CENVAT postings. Creates a corresponding entry in Part II of the appropriate excise register
Thus the excise postings are reversed.
3.J1IEX: Cancel the excise invoice (Do this if your plant does not allow multiple goods receipts per excise invoice).Now the system will allow you to cancel the vendor excise invoice
above the procedure right. you will get this updation excise registers also

BPM Start Process

We have scenario(file to file) where we get multiple files and is merged using BPM, transformed and sent to the receiver. We have file This is a time based collection. Incoming file adapter is set to poll every 30 sec, and the block in BPM timeout in 2 mins ( for testing purpose).
The BPM receive step (inside the loop) has the start process turned on. The expected behaviour was to receive all files in one instance of BPM and send the merged one out.
It is spawning the multiple BPM instance based on number of files in the sender file adapter. My guess is it is doing this since we have the start process on receive step and for each receive it is starting a new process. How do we eliminate this to have only one instance start as I am not finding any other step prior to receive ( block , and loop) where I can start the process.
Any help is appericiated.

1. If you want to merge the same file format , Use "Loop" step before "Recevie" step. Put some deadline branch , which will ensure your time limit.
This would resolve your problem.
2. If you want to merge different file format , you need to have multiple "Receive" steps and for that you need to use the "Fork" step.
