Content on iTunes... not on device

Have a vintage iPod with the current version of iTunes on a Windows 7 64bit machine.  Connected to a music CD which is seen in iTunes but not on the iPod.  How can one manually bring this album content to the iPod.  Guidance sought

Would the iPod content show a visible transfer of content to a reachable folder and would that content be playable on an app such as microsoft media player?
No.

The panel message indicates that what is on the iPod will be removed and restored to the iTunes library.
Not quite. The music will be removed from the iPod. It is not "restored to the Library". The music should already be in your Library anyway. The message is telling you that the music on the iPod will be removed and what is in your current iTunes Library will be put on it instead.
So - is this the same Library that the iPod has previously been synced with? From what you've said so far, I believe it is, so correct me if I'm wrong. So this means that you are trying to put music added recently to your iTunes Library onto the iPod to go with the previous content of the Library, which is alreayd on there.
If that's so, then it should work without problems. Are the new songs ticked (is the check mark on) next to each song in the Songs view?

  • No Content message Itunes Match mobile devices

itunes match is not working on my mobile devices - I've tried all fixes - any help? When I try to enable itunes match on my phone 5s or iPad mini 2 nothing appears in my library except a "No Content" message. Anyone have any fixes for this?

I saw the same thing, except that I've been using iTunes Match for over a year. Five days ago, I had ~7 GB of music on my iPhone 4 (downloaded from Match). Today, while syncing and backing up my phone with iTunes, I noticed that I had an unusally large amount of free storage on the phone. I opened the Music app, and I saw the No Content message for Playlists, Artists, Songs, etc, and there was no clear way to download them again. I can see from iTunes that Match thinks my music is there. I didn't even access the Music app on my phone this week, nor did I turn off Match on the phone or computer.
I tried turning Match off and on from the phone and restarting the phone, to no success.
As I was writing this, I updated iTumes Match from my Mac's iTunes app, and after it finished, the Music app on my iPhone started updating - the No Content message went away, and a Loading iTunes Match message came up with a progress bar. The Match data was restored to the phone, but not my music.
I don't know if updating Match from iTunes is the fix for this problem, or how it happened, but regardless, I'm going to have to reload all of that music to my phone, and it looks like it's going to happen over my too-slow Internet connection (over WiFi) rather than over the cable connected to my computer, which will take many hours (dreadfully slow Internet).

I recently updated my Mac with Mac OS Lion to get it to version 10.6. Now my iTunes is not recognizing any of my devices nor letting me purchase music in iTunes.  What am I missing? How do I get my devices recognized with this new software version?

    Hi PhantomAus,
Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like iTunes is not recognizing an iOS device. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

  • HT4061 itunes not recognizing device

iphone is frozen and itunes does not rcognize the device, how do i recover the phone

You might want to try performing a hard reset of your device; this will restart it and generally clear out any errors, it will not erase any data on your device.
Press and hold both the home button and the lock button (the button on the top right of the iPhone) for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.

  • ITunes not showing devices, how do I transfer an app that I purchased to my phone?

I just downloaded the 64bit iTunes for Windows 7.  And I've just purchased an app that I want to run on my android phone.  The tab "Devices" is not showing up and is missing and therefore iTunes does not recognize the phone.  How do I get the app from iTunes to my phone?  Also, how would I get any music to my phone if the its not recognized.

I am having a similar problem. laptop crashed and we needed a new harddrive. Reinstalled itunes, downloaded "purchased apps" in itunes, then found I needed to "transfer purchases" and have done so and then backed up ipad in itunes.
However, I still have apps that I purchased that wouldn't download in ipad and said would be available on computer in itunes.  I see them there, but all app boxes are greyed out and I cannot select those boxes.  If I somehow got it un-greyed, where I could check those boxes and uncheck the others, it wouldn't just add those, right - it'd delete the others?
Also, if I hit "sync apps" then it says it will erase ipad and apply the library, so I'll lose all info in apps.  In theory, I could (I'm guessing - tell me if I'm wrong and can't do this) tell it to go to the "back up" and sync, right?  But, It literally took 24 hours to "back up ipad", and I dont' want to have another whole day to restore to back up.  And, oh yeah, those apps aren't on the back up copy, so I'd not get anywhere but frustrated.
How can I get these apps on without losing my data?

  • ITunes not finding devices wirelessly

I connect my devices to a power source and launch iTunes on my computer, yet iTunes fails to find and such over wifi.
I have checked the settings and they are set as per the instructions.
Is anyone else having the issue since iOS6 upgrade?

Yes my computer connects to the home network wirelessly also.
It all worked like clockwork prior to the iOS6 update, yet intermittently after that.

I can't synch my iPhone with iTunes because the device does not show up in a device window when I plug it in...it's missing in action and thus I'm not able to add any content from the iTunes to my iPhone, e.g. podcasts.   All the instructions on synching start with "find your device in the device window".  But what if you have no device window?

Missing "message" from above: The iPad "DGMTR" is synced with another iTunes library on DGMTR's MacBook Pro. Do you want to erase this iPad and sync with this iTunes library? An iPad can be synched with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iTunes library.
I thought the libraries were the same.

I am installing itunes to a laptop and have not sync device to this lap. It is saying that it must first restore device. The problem is I have over 2000 pictures and don't want to lose them. Now my phone is in restore mode and I don't know what to do. I don't want to proceed and loose these very important photos of family. What do I do to get it out of restore mode? My phone will not allow me to do anything to it at this point. I have the itunes downloaded on the laptop now. When I push the button for the phone it just shows Itunes and plug. I can't even call or open phone up.

Unfortunately... Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...

I had to have my PC wiped clean and the OS re-loaded. I thought I backed up everything  on my iTouch and iPad correctly, but when I try to sync, I'm getting a message that if I continue with the sync, I will lose everything on my device. I'd like to sync and have the content (both iTunes purchased music/apps and uploaded music) override the content on my PC, but am unable to find a way to do that. I have the first gen iTouch that does not support iCloud. Can anyone help?

My question is, can I listen to all the audio that come out from the ipad (movies online, games, Goear…) or only to the music from iTunes library?
On the iPad you can stream videos, photos, or music from the Video, Photos, Music, and YouTube apps to an Apple TV OR just stream music to an AirPort Express Base Station.
