Content to be rendered in Popup style in portal

Hi All,
I am trying to invoke a pop-up like behavior when I click on a link inside one of the portlet. Kevin had mentioned in one of the threads that the pop-up like style can be achieved using the DISC framework available in weblogic portal.
But Im unable to find much of an information for creating such behavior. I hope the experts here will be aware of creating styles which exhibits a behavior of a pop-up. Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi Chris,
The pop-up will not hold an entire portlet. This is more of an IFRAME like wherein you have a portal page with three or four portlets, and this pop-up style is from yahoo DOM object. I am sure you would have seen this style in some website where when you click a link then a black background(which will act like an IFRAME disabling other features residing in the page) and only the pop-up is accessible by the user. Any action the user does inside the pop-up will close the div and the black background and will return back to the main page displaying the information requested by the user.
I tried this with the existing script inside the portlet which was used in the jsp page earlier. But I fear that the portlet will not allow the addition of dynamic DOM object inside a portlet. How can this be implemented in the portal world. Does DISC framework support such features? I am trying to find the possible ways of achieveing it so kindly suggest me your thoughts and ideas.

Find out if the content will be rendered in "edit" mode programmatically

I need to use redirect to send user to different page for certain reason. I use HttpPortletRendererUtil.sendRedirect() to accomplish the task. It works fine. The problem is I do not want it redirect in page modes other than "show" mode. Is there a way to know if the content will be rendered in "edit" mode? Or is there other way to accomplish the task?

I tried and in both "show" and "edit" view getMode() return 1. I notice that the urls to access "edit" view is different from the one to access "show" view by an additional parameter _mode=16. It is not available to portlet. Probably portlet is not suppose to know the display mode.

Add Content button not rendered inside Portlets on edit mode

Hi,
I have a requirement where administrators will add some external content(Add content) either from taskflow or portlet and that external content (along with taskflow output) will be shown to the users based on some logic performed inside the taskflow/portlet bean code.
This PanelCustomziable should render AddContent button inside the portlet when pressing ctrl shiftE, but its no doing so? Where as the same PanelCustomizable renders AddContent button inside the taskflow on edit page? Any settings or changes needs to be done to make it work in porlet when consumed in portal?
a)taskflow cannot be selected for this purpose, as there will be only a single instance of the taskflow across the portal and it cannot retain runtime MDS changes to a specific instance (Unless we design the ADF taskflow with MDS customization layer). By default, any runtime change in one taskflow instance will be propagated to all the other taskflow instances of the portal.
(For eg.. Admin drops this taskflow onto a page1 and adds a image(external content) using the button AddContent inside the taskflow because of PanelCustomizable and close the page. He drops the same taskflow from RC only to find that the changes he done on page1 is being retained here ..its not resuable because of no MDS per instance)
So we selected Portlet for this purpose, as it has the inbuilt personalization framework. Admin can personalize each portlet instance and drops on the the same page and diff page again. But with portlets, Add Content is not rendered.
Its not just external content, the taskflow / porltet has some logic to perform and displays some output based on the ruleId which is the input parameter.

Table of contents isn't showing the paragraph style I've set it up with

I've made a table of contents in my document, and I've set up a character style called TOC body text, which has settings as belowL
However when I click OK to create the TOC, the text comes out in all caps size 24, like this:
This is the same as the style in which the headers appear on their pages within the document:
(NB I've typed the headers out in sentence case, then selected all caps here, rather than typing them out with caps lock on):
I want the headers on the contents page to appear the same style as the body copy throughout, however then seem to be retaining their header style.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your reply! I'm still not sure what I'm doing wrong though - at the moment I have TOC Body Text which is a paragraph style applied to the entry, and body which is a character style applied to the number and the between. I think that's what you're suggesting, but I already have it set up like that and it's still not working?

Difference in the display/rendering between two 7.4 portal systems

Hi everyone,
At this moment we are faced with a difference in the display/rendering between two 7.4 portal systems (see red area’s in screenshots). Both systems are green field installations.
At our LAB system with EP-BASIS 1000.7.40.7.0.20140421205300 and EP-RUNTIME 1000.7.40.7.0.20140414131600 the portal is rendered as follows:
Our development system DEV is based on EP-BASIS 1000.7.40.8.7.20141217073700 and EP-RUNTIME 1000.7.40.8.13.20150106224500. The portal is displayed as follows:
Both portal systems use the standard SAP Gold Reflection theme.
The expectation was that the DEV portal would have the same view as the LAB portal. Unfortunately, it appears that the DEV portal falls back to the older standard SAP Tradeshow theme when displaying (for example) the Portal Content Studio or the UWL. Different stylesheets (CSS) are loaded. There is no unified rendering and in our opinion this is not correct.
SCN provides much information about the various rendering problems that exists in the use of Internet Explorer in combination with the SAP Portal. However, it is unclear to us where to start with the analysis of this problem.
Answers / suggestions to the following questions will be highly appreciated:
Is it correct that the portal by default should make use of UR when the SAP Gold Reflection theme is used?
Is the difference of rendering caused by the difference in the versions of the EP BASIS / EP RUNTIME? (DEV portal has higher SP/patch level than LAB);
How to investigate this issue further and finally solve it?

Regarding the GOLD Reflection theme from a general perspective this is supported only alongside the UFP framework.
SAP Gold Reflection supports only Unified Rendering Lightspeed
In relation to your two other queries. Could you kindly clarify which particular version of IE you are presently running and also if compability mode is presently enabled/disabled?

How to call the windows popup on SRM portal

Hi ,
how to call the windows popup on SRM portal.
For example when I hit "Check" on the shoppoing cart screen I get a popup saying that "Shopping cart Test has no errors and can be orderd".
I am looking to thorw a popup which has got "yes" and "no" options ( like function module POPUP_TO_CONFIRM in GUI ) and based on the users choice the logic follows through.

Can we implement partial page rendering on item style Flex??

Hi All,
In an xml,
I have item style 'Flex' for expense account.
Requirement is :
In the same page i have other LOV which brings the data based on one of the segments of that expense account.
So any changes in one of the segments for the expesne account need to be stored and LOV query should be modified accrodingly..
So trying with following possibilties
1) Use partial page rendering for expense account
2) Split the page into two so that first expense account is displayed and any modifications to it are handled in controller and use LOV Mappings to update the query.
So can partial page rendering can be implemented for Item style "Flex".
Can anyone please provide the inputs to handle this scenario and best possible solution?

Dynamic content in JList renderer

Hi all
I've got a gui with a JList with rather complex content. I render that content with a custom ListCellRenderer that uses a JPanel. This works perfectly well for "non animated" things like text, JLabels etc.
Now I want to add to these panels in that JList a JProgressBar in "indeterminated" state (that is constantly sliding back and forth). The proglem is that the whole JList only does a repaint when the JList itself needs to do so (when resizing the window for example) and not when that Jprogressbar wants to repaint (in only gets rendered once)
Can I solve this, or will I have to implement my own JList-like panel.. That would mean I also have to implement the whole "selection" thing, which was why I choose JList in the first place.

camickr suggested a way to solution. Notifying list of its contents change is the way to present change to the user, for example ProgressBar change. You could not to use Timer and instead notify your list immediately its item have changed.
For a perfomance you could not to re-create your Renderer instance for each item but save it and reuse. The renderer will be repainter either way.

I can see my stbeehive workspaces so that it is easier to manage the moving of documents between one folder and another. But I am not able to configure beehiveonline content.

Could you please provide more information on what you trying to configure? Are you trying to configure BOL workspaces in explorer? If so its the same way as ST Beehive workspace but the URL is different. You can use OBEE or any webdav client.

Content container not rendering properly in some browsers

Hi Guys,
I am near completion on a the first site i have coded for a while. When i was coding i checked the site on mac firefox, chrome, safari. Also on windows firefox chrome safari and all appeared fine. When i used another windows machine in ie and firefox(up to date version) the main content container is half size this problem also occurs on the iphone too.
im really stumped and cant find the issue i have gone through the css and checked the container sizes with padding etc and nothing seems to be breaking out unless im missing it. Ive thought about size issue but im using a 27" screen at high res and the other machine i tested was a large high res. Works fine on my windows 17" screen. Does anyone else see the issue on the browser that i am explaining?

Looks fine to me in FF 7.0.1. I suspect what you have experienced is different screen resolution settings between the various test computers you used. For example, my monitor is set at 1280x768. Content will appear smaller if the setting is 1280x1024. And screen settings are something you cannot control. I think the best methods to attempt a uniform look from monitor to monitor are to use percentages or ems when specifying size, but I'm sure Murray, Nancy, SnakeEyez, Paula, Hans, Gramps, and others may have better counsel to offer.

Display Search Results of Content Search WebPart in a Calendar Style

Hi,
I have currently the requirement to gather events from calendars (event list) that are spread among dozens of site collections. Calendar rollup or overlay only works within a sitecollection (right?).
I thought that I might be able to use the Content Search WebPart for this task. Is it possible to create displaytemplates that transform the search results into a calendar like view?

Hi Sven,
As I tested, I can overlay SharePoint calendars across site collections in the same web application. However, by design it doesn't work across web applications.
I'd like to confirm if you are overlaying calendars across site collections or web applications. If your situation is the former, did you recieve any error message?

This was just a test to see if i could specify, queries in the theme definition.
I'm building a Spatial OLAP Server, and i need to define the themes dynamically, based on the spatial attributes, semantic attributes, and aggregated measures specified by the Spatial OLAP client.
At the time i wrote my first post, i was realizing that mapviewer does not handle well the SDO_AGGR_UNION, so i decided to create a table with the result of a more complex query and render it with an advanced style.
But the style failed, nevertheless i found a solution for the problem, as soon as i have some time i will post my results in the forum.

You can't open a new tab in a pop-up window opened via JavaScript.<br />
If you press Ctrl+T to open a tab then the tab is opened in the parent window and not in the pop-up window.

** URGENT *** Rendering dinamically pages with oracle portal

Hi everyone,
we need to render dinamically a page (basically its content) with more than one template, to make printing possible.
How portal renders a page (not a single portlet, but the entire page) with the associated template?
I claim that portal itself uses an api to render a page, maybe a pl/sql api nor a java api.
Any suggestion on a possible solution, or related documentation will be usefull.

Copy the URL that is formed when the page is viewed.
Now in the page from where you want to call it:
Create an Item of type URL and paste this URL there.
