Originally I had similar issues. Then I downloaded Download J2SE v 1.4.2 SDK (includes JRE, JVM etc) at the link below... and no problem. I use both Windows and Solaris. found best results with tar rather than self-extracting. Let me know if this works for you.

Access Connections 5.21 as posted on the ww-307.ibm.com web site is bad... if you try to install you'll get an error dialog: "The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again.".
I think I see why... the files are being truncated at about 16 megabyates, perhaps by the web server?
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4ZLNJB is the page for the Windows XP version and it points to file 7xcx23ww.exe, which is supposed to be about 26 megabytes. But when you download the file, it gets truncated to about 16 megabytes.

The complete files are on ftp.software.ibm.com. Connect with your favorite ftp client, log in as anonymous with your email address as the password... then cd /pc/pccbbs/mobiles, type binary (to ensure binary transfer) and hash (to get progress hash marks) and you can use the get command (i.e. get 7xcx23ww.exe or get 7xcv23ww.exe) to fetch the file you need.
The Windows XP version appears to extract OK now (haven't installed it yet though), and the Vista version appears to be the right length.

Hmmm. I just tried it again couple of times, and still get truncated file 7xcx23ww.exe via http download.
I could imagine an issue with my browser (Firefox) on Windows, Netgear access point or cable modem ISP and I would be reluctant to point finger at the web server. But as I verified yesterday, 2nd download attempt with wget and linux in a shell account (accessed via ssh on box hosted far away by an entirely different ISP) also gets the truncated file.
Hope this is helping someone - if I'm only one getting the corrupt files I'll delete the post... is anyone else seeing this?

The banner usually indicates that the memo is "Paused." If you go back into voice memos, touch the word "Done" beside the big red pause button, give it a name, then it will show in a list. Touch the memo in the list then touch the trash can icon that should appear.

I recently tried to download two movies. Would not complete download. Movies were removed from que, however, the Ipade now shows 10MB of "Other" content that I cannot delete. Any suggestions?

To Steve Fan: I created the new second user account in my window 8. It was set as a standard account, not as administrator account as my first original user account. Specifically, i used the same email address with this forum account's to
create this second user account. It means that the second user account in my laptop also was a Microsoft account.
Can you guess what happened after i had logged in to the second user account? I opened some random websites by firefox, copied and pasted all text and pictures on these websites into a word document and onenote successfully without any problems!!!!
I saved this word document and exported this onenote section to a Usb. After that, i switched from second standard user account to my window administrator account and opened the two files which were saved to Usb previously. They were opened and displayed
normally as the same as what i previously had seen in the second user account, i.e. pasted text and pictures were displayed normally. However, when i opened the same web address again to copy the same text and pictures to word and onenote, there were only
text lines pasted successfully, excluding pictures! This old strange problem happened again when using original administrator account for logging in window. In contrast, when using the second standard user account to log in window, copying and pasting text
and online pictures of Microsoft office worked normally.
I truly don't figure out the reason(s) caused this strange problem. I think my case is a special case because i tried all solutions other people had tried but nothing worked.
Please help me!
p/s: when i logged in the second standard user account, i opened the paste special options in word and there were only 3 choices under paste special options, excluding "device independent bitmap"

i recently came across Error Message (coming up in webadmin Log view):
ProcessMonitor: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: JVM cannot use large page memory because it does not have enough privilege to lock pages in memory
when running Oracle NoSQL on Windows 7 64bit Home Premium system, having 8GB of physical RAM.
I created the store configuration without explicitly passing a value for parameter memory_mb (was set to -memory_mb 0), so that replication group would take as much
memory as possible, which found it's reflection in following line from store log:

I was a bit surprised because of the fact that i definetly succeeded in running kvstore in this configuration, leading to store using 7007MB of memory.
It was only possible to run kvstore when creating store configuration with memory configured to be less than 2GB.
After searching google with error message mentioned above i came across some hints regarding activation of Huge Pages on Windows 7, which mentioned that it could be
done on systems having at least Windows 7 Professional Edition.
But finally i found a more helpful hint, referring to size of windows pagefile. As my machine uses an SSD as system disk and there some notes on deactivating pagefile when
using an SSD, i did so some time ago.
So i activated the pagefile on windows again and after doing so, the store came up without any problems.
Maybe it's nothing new to some of you guys, but as there was nothing to be read about this fact in neither admin nor getting started guide, i just wanted to share this
piece of information with you.

In wunderlust-brown content slideshow I cannot get the content to show in IE 8

I am using wunderlust-brown content slideshow. I cannot get the content to show in IE 8. The picture shows but no content. I narrowed down the problem to a missing CSS attribute - .WLBSlideShow .article
If I add .article to the end of the .story attribute (.WLBSlideShow .story .article) then I get content in IE 8 but the page no longer works properly in Firefox or Chrome.
I want to know what CSS code is supposed to be in this file for the .article attribute. It is a simple problem and I hope I can get a resolution quickly.

When I go to options I cannot access "content" so I cannot make any changes to popups

I've been getting a lot of popups and want to check if I have block popups clicked but I cannot access the "content" tab under options. I can click on all the other tabs but the "content" tab just shows the last tab I clicked on...

One reason for lots of pop-ups is a bad add-on. I suggest starting your cleanup here:
(1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
(2) Open Firefox's '''Add-ons page''' using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click '''Plugins'''. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click '''Extensions'''. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any improvement?
(3) You can search for remaining issues with the '''scanning/cleaning tools''' listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]. These on-demand scanners are free and take considerable time to run. If they finish quickly and especially if they require payment, you may have a serious infection. Handling units in Shipments cannot be unpacked

Dear All,
In shipments, there are HUs which needs to be unpacked since user wants to delete the related deliveries. When he goes to Shipment change mode and tries to unpack the HUs, it is greyed out in and not able to delete or empty the HUs. System gives a message (green color) "The Handling units cannot be changed". Kindly help me to resolve this issue.
Your efforts regarding this would be appreciated and rewarded.

Ok, just to be sure;
1) did you pack in the deliveries? You're not trying to unpack these HU's?
2) is there a user status scheme active?
3) did you pack the deliveries and did you pack these HU's into a new HU in the shipment? And are you now trying to unpack the HU created in the shipment?
4) is the packaging button itself greyed out?
5) what is the status of the HU you're trying to unpack?

Help. My ITunes library content has vanished. Cannot find files anywhere . Still accessing store via my phone and all my purchases are there etc but on my laptop the library is empty.. I have AVG and have put Itunes as exception as read that might be an issue. Im really not sure what to do .

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand you can see all of your purchased music on your iPhone but the library on your computer in iTunes is empty. If the music was purchased from iTunes you can get this music back to your iTunes Library two different ways. You can either transfer purchases from the iPhone to the iTunes Library, or you can just download the music again from the Purchased section of iTunes. I will post the information on both ways to recover your purchased music below.

Linux or JVM: cannot display non english character

i am trying to implement a GUI that supports both turkish and english. user can switch between them on the fly.

Finally, my problem is my application does not display non english chracaters like "� ş � ğ � i" in GUI after triggering translation.However, if i do not use ResourceBundle and instead assign directly the turkish match for that label (i.e. label.setText("şşşşş")), GUI successfully displays turkish characters. what may be the problem? which encoding set does not conform?
ps : i am using redhat linux8.0, j2sdk1.4.1. current locale = "tr_TR.UTF-8". in /etc/sysconfig/keyboard , keyTable = "trq". There seems no problem for me as i can input and output
turkish characters. OS supports this. Also jvm gets the current encoding from OS.It seems as if there is a problem in reading properties file in inappropriate encoding.

I would suspect it would work in vim only if vim supported the UTF8 character set. I have no idea if it does.
Here is one blurb I found on google:
USING UNICODE IN THE GUI
The nice thing about Unicode is that other encodings can be converted to it
and back without losing information. When you make Vim use Unicode
internally, you will be able to edit files in any encoding.
Unfortunately, the number of systems supporting Unicode is still limited.
Thus it's unlikely that your language uses it. You need to tell Vim you want
to use Unicode, and how to handle interfacing with the rest of the system.
Let's start with the GUI version of Vim, which is able to display Unicode
characters. This should work:

The 'encoding' option tells Vim the encoding of the characters that you use.

JVM cannot be loaded - Class not registered

I am using Windows XP Home.
While trying to open an application I get the following error message :
Unable to start the application -- the Java Virtual Machine cannot be loaded.
Class not registered.
I was using the J2SE RE 5.0 Update 4 which took around 118 MB of disk space.
After going through certain similar cases on the forum I uninstalled the same and downloaded a smaller 5 MB file but that said it isnt s WIN32 application. So I again downloaded the J2SE RE 5.0 UPDATE 4.
And the problem still persists. I am not very familiar with Java applications and codes. Please help me with this.
Also this application is working fine on my colleague's machine. His Internet Options - > Advanced Tab -> has an item called Java Virtual Machine whereas mine doesn't. How can I resolve this.

Internet Explorer can use the old and now obselete Microsoft Virtual Machine, or the latest Sun Java virtual machine.
Your friend must have the old microsoft virtual machine installed.
I think you only need to plug the Sun VM into Internet Explorer... simple enough.
Go to the Control Panel of Windows.
There should be an icon/entry for "Java(TM) Control Panel".... open it.
Go to the "Advanced" tab.
Select the "<APPLET" tag support.
Enable "Internet Explorer"....
Click on the "Apply" button, then click "Ok"...
And retry.
Assumptions:
I assumed you have installed / reinstalled Java 5.0 correctly, and have administrator security priviledges to your own machine.

Double-clicking on this file brings up a dialog with title
"Java 2 SDK - InstallShield Wizard"
with a progress bar labelled "Reading contents of package..."
The progress bar reaches 100% and then starts from 0 again. Shortly after, the dialog is replaced with an error dialog stating:
"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again."
This is the third time that I have tried to install the Java 2 SDK and each time I have had the same result. Each time the downloaded file has had the correct number of bytes. There are many posts here describing the same problem, but I have not seen one that has a universal solution.
It seems to me that the problem is to do with the installation environment:

I have 2 versions of InstallShield installed. I think that the problem is with my operating system or my InstallShield installations. Anyone know the solution?

Window 95 is not supported for this version and you are at the ragged edge as far as processor speed.
This is the beginning of the installation instructions that are on the download page:
"System Requirements
The JavaTM 2 SDK is supported on Microsoft Windows 98 (1st or 2nd edition), Windows NT 4.0 with with Service Pack 5 or later, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2 or later, running on Intel hardware. In non-English locales, the only edition of Microsoft Windows 2000 tested with this release is the Professional edition.
Note -- Trying to install the Java 2 SDK on a non-supported version of Microsoft Windows or on a machine that doesn't have a sufficiently up-to-date Service Pack will cause the installer to generate this warning: "We recommend that you do not install this Java(TM) Platform for the following reasons: This Java(TM) Platform does not support the operating system or operating-system service pack on this machine."
A Pentium 166MHz or faster processor with at least 32 megabytes of physical RAM is required to run graphically based applications. Forty-eight megabytes of RAM is recommended for applets running within a browser using the Java Plug-in product. Running with less memory may cause disk swapping which has a severe effect on performance. Very large programs may require more RAM for adequate performance.

Use IBM JVM in presense of 64 and 32 bit

I am running WIN7 and have both the 32 and the 64 bit IBM JVM installed on it, the 64 bit IBM JVM being the system JVM. The latter is mandatory for various applications.
I am experiencing problems with the Java plugin of Firefox (version 31.5.0). The plugin is listed as "always activate" in the Add-ons Manager, and when I look into pluginreg.dat, it looks like the correct (i.e. 32 bit) version:

Nevertheless, Java content in an application does not show up. When I click on the little Lego brick left of the web address after I clicked on the link requesting the Java-generated content, it says "IBM Developer Kit for Windows is enabled, Continue allowing" but nothing happens, even when I click on the "Continue allowing" button. What is supposed to happen is that a new window opens displaying the Java-generated content. The web-site is allowed to open new windows, and does so for non-Java content, so it cannot be just popup-blocking which prevents the Java content from showing up.
The last thing various support entries here pointed me to is the "Configure Java" panel. I ran it both for the 64 bit and 32 bit JVM. For both, when I try to enable "Mozilla family" for "Default java for browsers" under the "Advanced" tab, the setting does not save. Which perhaps seems correct for the 64 bit JVM, but not for the 32 bit JVM. So I cannot verify whether this setting would help. On the security tab, the site is listed on the exception site list, so this shouldn't be a problem.
Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated!

We do have 64 and 32 bit heteregeneous landscapes with Windows 2000 32 bit x86 and Windows 2003 64 bit ia64.
There are no problems for transports between 32 bit and 64 bit systems.
Problems can happen with differences between the différent operating systems.
We had, for instance, an issue with some scripts (bat files) because Microsoft had the very strange idea to change the syntax of the DIR command between win 2000 and win 2003. If your script need to work in the same way in both OS, you have to detect the OS and have the 2 syntaxes in the script...
We also have systems with a 64 bit CI and 32 bit dialog instances.
Here, the problems may be with memory hungry programs running OK on the 64 bit system and short dumping on 32 bit app servers
We had also a bad surprise with Win 2003 IA64 servers when we discovered that some SAP software is not available on this platform. Exemples : Adobe Services or TREX.

JVM 1.5.0_11 and libumem -- need stack trace help for memory leak

I'm trying to track down the cause of some memory growth in a java application. In my tests, the java heap appears to remain stable, but the overall memory footprint of the jvm process continues to grow (observed with pmap).
I've run my application with libumem and have found what appears to be the culprit, but the memory allocation is in libjvm.so and I'm looking for ideas what might cause it.

More on this issue. The included program will continually allocate memory on the process heap until the JVM cannot allocate memory and it exits with the following exception.
Exception java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: requested 16 bytes for C_Heap: ResourceOBJ. Out of swap space?

Sharepoint 2013 copy/move operation using Content and Structure fails

Hi,
We had a recent upgrade from SP2010 to SP2013 environment. After the migration, we realized that the
copy/move operations using Manage content and structure(sitemanager.aspx) is not working as expected, neither does this give any error nor is it stuck. In fact if I check the content and structure log I find the message as
succeeded but file/item is not copied to the target.
The strange thing is that if I am performing this operation with Full Control permission level it
does not work but if I do the operation as Site collection admin it works without problem. I know if sub-sites are to moved then one should be site col admin but in this case I am trying to move just documents or pages.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

According to your description, my understanding is that copy/move operation using Content and Structure cannot work in SharePoint.
I recommend to check if there are any custom fields in the source list/library and target list/library. If yes, delete the custom fields to see if the issue still occurs.

To copy or move files/items between sites, we need to have
appropriate permissions on both sites.
I recommend to check if the user has full control on both sites.
