i have a 3845 running Cisco IOS Software, 3800 Software (C3845-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(23), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) but the subinterface commands are available
if i run it in gns on a 3700 with Cisco IOS Software, 3700 Software (C3745-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(15)T14, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2) the command are available
can someone recommend an ios for a 3845 please (i need bgp)

Hi guys,
I want to implement control plane protection for fragmented packets. As far as i know if fragmented packet are traversing through router then service-policy will be applied at control-plane transit but if fragmented packets are destine to router itself then it will be applied at control-plane host. Correct me if i am wrong. Moreover I want to know the difference between

What you’re doing is good. It’s always best to block the fragmented packets at the control-plane level, rather than via the normal ACL.
In the basic/lower feature sets IOS versions, there is no breakdown in terms of control-plane. With the advanced/higher feature sets IOS versions, you have control-plane host, control-plane transit and control-plane cef. Your next question would be when do I apply them, in what given situations, am I right? Basically, in a nutshell, here goes
a)    control-plane host handles packets destined for router itself e.g. management traffic (telnet/ssh/tacacs+/radius) and routing traffic.
b)    control-plane transit works on IP based packets traversing through the router e.g. internet browsing, email etc.
c)    control-plane cef focuses on non-IP packets e.g. CDP, ARP etc.

It shows that the MP work over Control plane. Means in Route processor the MP will take palce.

If you are using IOS which uses a policy-map to configure Control Plane Policing then you are asking in the wrong place as this forum is for IOS-XR not IOS but you can poll objects in the CISCO-CLASS-BASED-QOS-MIB::cbQosPoliceStatsTable (for example cbQosCMDropByte64, cbQosPoliceExceededByte64, cbQosPoliceConformedByte64).
If you mean you have changed the LPTS policers to help protect the control-plane in IOS-XR then I believe there is currently no support for polling the counters via SNMP. AS5350XM - Compatible IOS version for 'ip host ... srv' command.

Hi Friends,
I'm having AS5350XM model of Voice Gateways in CVP8.0 environment working with ICM8.0 and CUCM8.0.
I'd like to define static hostname-to-address mappings in VG for my CVP CallServers along with command argument 'SRV' to use all 4 CVP servers for loadbalancing and failover functionality thereby assigning priority to each call server.
I tried by using a couple of IOS version starting from 12.4(24)T4 till 15.1(3)T, but can't find a particular version which supports the argument 'srv'.
I'd appreciate if someone could suggest me an appropriate IOS version supporting 'srv' argument with 'ip host' command on AS5350XM Gateways.

Macbook Air (Mid-2013) and iPhone 5s IOS version 8.1 won't connect via bluetooth, anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have a Macbook Air running OS-X Yosemite and an iPhone 5s running IOS version 8.1. Every time I try to connect the devices via bluetooth is won't connect saying my Macbook Air isn't supported when in actuality it is. Anyone know how to fix this issue? I have restarted both my Mac/Iphone and have turned bluetooth on/off and nothing seems to help. Bluetooth pairing didn't work before I updated to IOS 8.1 so I doubt that is the issue here.

Please help me by considering the following points, discovered in real time scenario, while doing R&D:
The site opens using the IP address but on repeated testing done to open site, facing the issue of loading the site.
The site does not display any error, the page just does not load, credential screen does not appear.
Internet is used on iPAD through Wi-Fi as well as 3G. I had tested through Wi-Fi. Another site (HR) hosted does not give any issues.
Browsing is done through Safari in the iPAD.
The IOS version on the problematic iPAD - 7.0.1
Actual issues that client facing are:
sometimes it prompts for credentials twice or more
and when it does not , site does not even load
nor does the site prompt for credentials also

Is this site set up to use Kerberos authentication only? Sounds like it is either set up with Kerberos (hence multiple auth prompts) and is not set up for NTLM, or Safari is unable to perform fallback when Kerberos fails.

No, it will still stay as IOS 7.0.4

App Store will not Install compatible apps for older iOS versions.

Note to Apple, fix the App store so we can install a compatible version of an app for older iOS versions.
My iPad 1 maxed out at iOS 5.1.1. If I want to install a new app with this device ( one I have not ever installed), and the latest app says iOS 7 and above, ithe app store won't let me install an older compatible version, even if older versions used to be previously available .
I think Apple is trying to convince me to buy a Galaxy Tab for my next tablet. They are basically telling me to throw away my old iPad because it is no longer compatible with the newest iOS version 7 on the app store. You want that new app? If the latest version is only ios7 compatible, you're outta luck sukka.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you are not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple. Whether an older version of an app is available depends upon the developer.

Control Plane Policy not allowing ssh on my 3825 router

I have complaints for a downstream customer trying to connect to my network. He is the only one connecting to hosts via ssh. He is showing up hitting the 3rd party (Mcaffee Sidewinder Firewall) between the 2 Cisco 3825 routers but with the bytes stripped out. I started looking at the control plane policy and believe it is the culprit. He is the only host I need to get in through the router (WAN) via this protocol/port. What do I need to change in order to allow him through?

Ideally any feature set questions are answerable in Cisco Feature Navigator (http://www.cisco.com/go/fn).
The Secure Copy (SCP) feature provides a secure and authenticated method for copying router configuration or router image files. SCP relies on Secure Shell (SSH), an application and a protocol that provide a secure replacement for the Berkeley r-tools. So ideally you should be running crypto images (k9) which support SSH and hence SCP as well.

Control Plane Protection (Policing) configuration on Catalyst 3850

I need to block ICMP requests from being received by the switch. And there is no 'control-plane' configuration mode, which I was going to use for this.
How can I configure this feature or apply another for my purpose?

A couple specific questions I have while configuring the portion for IGPs.
Here is a couple snips of example configurations I'm finding on the Internet, that I have questions on.

Catalyst Control Center: Host applicaton has stopped working

I keep getting the error:
Catalyst Control Center: Host applicaton has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
The only button on this window is "Close program"
This error started on 01/04/15 (via the event viewer).
The video driver for my AMD Radeon HD 7520G from AMD is dated 9/15/2014 with a version of 14.301.1001.0. If I go to the HP support site, the driver is shows is dated 11/11/2013 with a version of 13.152.1.1000.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are getting an application error from your Catalyst Control center. I am happy to assist with this.
The first thing I would recommend trying is a system restore to a point before the problem began. It is possible that some other software installed or driver, or system update, may be the cause. So take a look at this:
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
If that does not work, then I would download the driver again, uninstall the existing driver, restart the computer and then install the driver once more and see if the problem recurs.
Incidentally the support website shows the latest hp customized version of all the drivers for that notebook. Hp customizes them to be compatible with the other hardware in the notebook. It is always possible to use a different driver, but there are no guarantees it will work.

Is 5.1.1 really the latest iOS version for the original iPad?

I am trying to download the DirectTV app that comes up in the app store to my ipad and get message that iOS version 6.1 is required. In settings, the iPad is on version 5.1.1 and says the software is up to date. Is 5.1.1 really the latest OS for my iPad, meaning I cannot use the DirectTV online service?

Apple controls the iTunes store and decides what apps get in. They could force app developers to have their apps work with older iOS systems, but instead, it's in apples best interest to force you to go buy a new tablet every three years. Apple doesn't care that iPad1 owners are the ones that made the tablet successful for apple. If they cared about their customers, if they wanted brand loyalty, apple would offer to buy back ipad1s for a decent amount that could be put toward a newer iPad. Apple lost my business. If 'technology dictates' that I have to get a new tablet every three years, I'm gonna go with a less expensive other brand.

You Restore from iTune Backup.The syncing is towards the end of the Restore.
1. Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
2. You'll be asked twice to confirm
3. You'll see Apple logo and progress bar
4. You'll see a big iPad logo on screen
5. Configuration start
6. Set language
7. Set country
8. Select Network and input Password>Join
9. Enable Location Service>Next
10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c) Restore from iTune Backup
11. Select Restore from iTune Backup
12. You will see picture of USB cable pointing towards iPad
13. Connect iPad to iTune (make sure iTune is on standby)
14. Tap Continue (computer)
15. Restore iPad from Backup (computer)
16. See progress bar with estimated time (computer)
17. See Restore in Progress on iPad
18. See Apple logo
19. See Apple and Progress Bar
20. Slide to Unlock
