Control strip disappears

When I click on a video link, the video will appear on another control and will be played. If I click the link again, the video is playing but the control strip does not appear. What seems to be the problem? The control strip appears the first time. And the weird part is on the other videos, the controller does not disappear. The controller attribute is set to true always, btw.

I can't post the code right now. I tried to display the video without using user controls or ajax, and it worked fine. No matter how fast or how often I refresh, the movie will render properly. So I was wondering if Quicktime has issues with Ajax of User Controls of ASP.Net. By the way, using ajax and user controls to display my video works well in Firefox, it only gets messed up in IE.

Control Strip in OS 9 won't start

I recently bought a 867 TiBook because I needed a faster notebook which would also boot into OS 9 for kids games. When booted into 9, the control strip will not start. I've replaced both the control panel and extension but with no success. My next step is Conflict Catcher, but I'm hoping for an easy answer.

I always found the Control Strip to be less than dependable at the best of times, and actively and annoyingly troublesome the rest of the time. You can't do anything with the CS that can't be done with a Control Panel. Could you simply get along without the CS? I think it might save you some headaches.

Start up pause/hang before loading A-Dock and Control Strip

Ok, I know, running a sooped up 7200 PowerMac is not worth the time or money, but...I've got this hang that's become more pronounced lately.
Everything seems to load fine. After about 3-5 minutes A-Dock and Control Strip come one. Already tried disabling both, no luck. That's why I think the mouse is the problem. Logitech Wheel mouse works but not to full functionality (gonna try USB Overdrive); Mouseware 4.0.6 now installed but seems flaky (RH and wheel button work intermittantly, usually after replugging in the USB), and can't seem to locate the install CD which had an earlier version. May also try the serial mouse again too.
Mouse also hangs in some browsers and seems to cause crashes.
I've got a SCSI external drive (IDE 6) and terminated.
I'll do more testing, but would appreciate any obvious fixes

Do you have the problem if you start up with Extensions Off?
A problem on the SCSI bus can cause your problem. Disconnect all external devices except kbd, mouse & monitor and see if you have the same problem.
Not sure it will help, but won't hurt to zap PRAM also.

The main develop module controls have disappeared from the develop window. How do I recover them? I'm working with Lightroom 5.3. The missing controls are the sliders for exposure, contrast, clarity, etc. I must have inadvertantly clicked something that made them disappear but nothing I've tried brings them back. I've never had this experience in the years I've been using Lightroom (since version 1.1).

Right-click on any other item Tone Curve for ex., and check on "Basic" if that's what you are missing.
If you miss the complete Develop module right-click any other item Library for ex and put a check on Develop

Adjust Y pos of Flash video control strip (skin)

Hi
I am in need to move the video control strip upwards so it clears my caption in the video shown below.
The skin is a swf, and normally if I import a swf to to another fla as an outside source I can adjust xpos and ypos with action script.
I am using AS2 and would think this can be controlled in the flv playback component. But I can not find out how.
Can you help?

I have tried to add:
layout_mc.ypos = -100;   and layout_mc._y = -100;
to my ClearOverPlaySeekMute_GG_1.fla
Did not work.
Also tried inside Fla with the flv playback component to add
_y=-100
That moved the whole component up.
Then I tried to address the swf from there:
layout_mc._y = -100;
Did not work.
Then I tried to address the swf from there:
ClearOverPlaySeekMute_GG_1.swf._y = -100;
Also did not work.
What is it that decides the default position of the componet?
I am out of ideas.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.

Wifi controls have disappeared on my TX!

Wifi controls have disappeared on my TX! I cannot connect to any wifi hotspots without the control button. I get a system error when I click on the Web or Versamail icons.

A hard reset wipes out all the info from your palm. It is always best to sync your palm before you perform a hard reset so that you will be able to retrieve all your information.
Now, you are trying to sync and it isn't going through. I will try to help you resolve this issue.
Do you see the hot sync icon (circle with red and blue arrows) on the bottom right of your computer screen? Is there an arrow with the option to "show hidden icons"? If you do not see it there, hot sync will be disabled and you will keep getting that message (the connection between your device and the desktop could not be established...).
To enable the hot sync program once again, click on Start > Programs/All Programs > Palm OS Desktop/Palm One > Hot Sync Manager. It will take about 5-10 seconds and the icon will be there once again.
Now the sync should go through. When you begin sync'ing, the computer will prompt you, "there is no user name associated with this account..." select your old user name and then all the info will come back onto your palm.

Keyword control bar disappears

I have been having a problem with the Keyword control bar disappearing every time I quit and relaunch Aperture.
When I enter the keyboard shortcut, it will reappear, but none of my custom keyword buttons show up.
If I go into "edit", my custom settings show up in the lists, and then they reappear in the control bar.
Is this a toss Prefs situation?
If I do that, what do I risk losing in the way of Library or Metadata information?
Any other ideas on how to get my settings to "stick"?

I managed to fix this problem (I hope) by adding a new keyword to an image using the control bar entry field.
When I did this, it said the keywords were locked, and did I want to unlock it and add it to my custom list.
Why Yes, I did.
Since then it has been working as usual.
I noticed there is also an icon in the editing dialog box which allows you to lock the list. It may be possible to accomplish the same behavior from in there.
I had never locked this manually, so assume it was changed during a Library rebuild, or update somehow.

Convert Quicktime to Flash Format with Controls Strip ?

Hi everyone...
I have a Quicktime movie on a website that my client would prefer in Flash format... I have successfully been able to export to Flash format Flash CS3, but I have been unable to add the auto controls strip that's included when you place a Quicktime movie using GoLive CS2. Does anyone of any software out there that will allow me to import my original Quicktime movie format and export in Flash format with these controls included (sound control, play, pause, forward, backwards). It's sooo frustrating as I know the Quicktime format is fine... but my client just feels that Flash would be more cross platform popular.
Any ideas... any help?? much appreciated.

Hi Edward... and thank you for your reply... the page in question is listed below. I don't know how to add in the control buttons in Flash CS3... that's why I was hoping that there might be some small drag and drop standalone application that might create this control panel for me and automatically add it to the Flash video. In GoLive CS2 when you place a Quicktime movie you get options to show the controls or not... add a Flash movie in GoLive and you don't have this option. My client wants the controls and I am not knowledgeable enough to be able to fabricate them in Flash CS3.... so that's why I was looking to find out if there was some small app available that would do this function...

Why do the align controls keep disappearing from the Options Bar?

This is very annoying. The align controls periodically disappear, and only reappear after mousing over them. This is in InDesign CS4. I've never seen this happen in any previous version of InDesign, or in any other Adobe application. Here's a video.

I've often experienced this sort of behaviour in CS3 on WinXP. It happens when I've been working on the same file for a long time, and it seems to indicate that I'm running out of memory (particularly VM?). Minimize/maximize gives temporary respite, Save As a bit longer, but eventually I have to close down ID and restart. I usually reboot at the same time just to make sure. Then I'm good to go for another few hours.

Why does my Control Panel disappear?

I have saved workspaces, and have tried preset workspaces – the Essential one makes my control panel disappear as if I have a second monitor. If I try another workspace, such as Layout, the control panel returns but some of the panels won't extend open. It's really strange. I've done all the basics - restarted, checked for updates, open and close tools, resetting workspaces. I think it's a glitch in the program. I've attached two screen shots. You will see in the first one the blacked out, smaller control panel (which I can't move), and in the second, the Brush Panel is nowhere to be seen even though it is checked (happens with anything I check). This is greatly interfering with my workflow so any help or a patch is much appreciated! Also, hitting (F) to change the view of the file window doesn't change anything for the control panels.

It sounds like the app may be crashing. Here are some things to try.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Cache. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit Safari and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit Safari by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the Safari app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the app. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Drop down list in Table Control - Value disappeared after pressing ENTER

Dear Gurus,
I have a problem in one of my development where I used a table control in which one field is a drop down list.
I used VRM_SET_VALUES and VRM_GET_VALUES for populating the values from the programand not use any domain level value table for that field.
My problem is when I select one value from this list , and pressing enter , the value get disappeared. But if I use a domain for this field with value table then everything working properly.
My doubt is am I doing some miss coding or using the VRM_ function modules improperly ?

My front panel controls are disappearing after the vi starts. Anyone one know how to fix this?

I have some vis that ran fine on an older machine, but with the new computer controls on the front panel dissappear after awhile and can be made to reappear after closing and reloading the vi. I am not doing any programmatic hiding of any controls. The controls can also be made to reappear by stopping the vi and selecting them with a tool, but then they disappear again when you run the vi again. I played around with "bring to front" but that doesn't fix the problem and read a post about OpenGL problems associatted with 3D controls. Any ideas on what to try to fix the disappearing controls?

If you right-click on the terminal and choose 'show control' and then the control can be seen, then it is not hidden behind other controls, decorations, etc. Just to ask a dumb question: have you right-clicked on the terminal and tried Find --> Property nodes to make sure that the control(s) is not being hidden somewhere in your code? Are you passing any control refnums to any subvi's?

Tethered Shooting issue: Camera Control Bar disappears

When I start to shoot with the tethered capture bar, the bar disappears after 1-2 shots.
It's not hidden - there's slight "artifacts" left on-screen.
Example:
Before starting to shot tethered - see the bar properly displayed
Here's the problem - after taking a tethered shot, the bar disappears,except for the black square to the right of the menu bar (above the top right corner of the photo). That black square is actually the animated progress indicator that spins when processing a new photo.
When I pass the cursor over the black square, or over a few other completely hidden areas, the cursor changes to a hand to reposition the tether bar, it's just not visible.
Control-T (hide/show tethered capture window) does not help.
Stopping & restarting tethered capture makes it visible again, until I take a photo.
