Conversion of zero
Hi,
I want the function module which can convert the field leading zero. The data type is CURR of the field.
For example I have one internal table itab_mara in which VERBR field I have to convrt this field.
suppose this is 100.79. Then the output should be 00010079.
It should remove the . with space and fill the zero.Total no of digits should be 8 after conversion.
Thanks.
Hi,
CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT converts any number into a string fill with zeroes, with the number at the extreme right
Example:
input = 123
output = 0000000000000...000000000000123
CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT converts any number with zeroes right into a simple integer
Example:
input = 00000000000123
output = 123
Please reward if useful.

Retrieving values from a table
Hi all,
I need to retrieve values from CSKS-KOSTL for values containing the pattern entered by the user. For example, if the user enters 1, need to retrieve all the KOSTL values starting with 1. But when i write a SELECT statement mentioning where kostl in '1', it is ignoring all the values like (0000001, 00001034, 0012334, and others). Only values starting with 1 is only retrieved as this is a character field and due to conversion routine, zeroes are prefixed while storing in the database.
Could any one let me know how to retrieve the values from the database in this situation?If you want to use IN operator in your where clause then you should define a range variable(R_KOSTL) which refers to CSKS=KOSTL and populate the range as below
R_KOSTL-SIGN = 'I'.
R_KOSTL-OPTION = 'CP'.
R_KOSTL-LOW = '1*'.
APPEND R_KOSTL.
and then write your select statement as .... WHERE kostl IN r_kostl.
The approach suggested by Amit should also work fine.
Thanks

OBYC PRD Postings with PO in Foreign Currency
Hi Sapients,
I am observing a peculiar problem - ECC 6.0, Material Pricing @ MAP, CIN Implemented (Indian Project)
October 1, 2009 - PO created with USD 300 (Exchange Rate maintained) - A/c assigned "Q" (Project)
Custom MIRO done on October 26, 2009 (Exchange Rate maintained)
Goods Inwarding MIGO done on same day i.e. October 26, 2009 (same exchange rate as of Custom MIRO)
All well till here.
But due to some reasons this entry has to be reversed - upon cancellation system is -
1. Asking for PRD A/c assignment (which as per me should not be the case Material Price Valuation is MAP, however since it is A/c assigned and there an active reservation on the project - hence I understand that as soon as I did the GRN system actively considered the stock to be project stock). But my concern here is when I am cancelling the MIGO why is system asking for PRD A/c??
2. Once I am maintaining the OBYC-PRD settings: System is posting the Price Difference in PRD A/c in USD and more peculiarly the INR conversion is ZERO "0" i.e. Accounting Document shows - USD 34 however local currency INR shows "0" - which should be the other way round??
Kindly help me here please.
Gaurav Mohan
+91-98100 592621. Please refer to SAP Note # 980402 - check whether this suits your requirements or otherwise.
2. You need to maintain both DIRECT & INDIRECT exchange rate for the currency for a date i.e. PO in USD, Custom MIRO happening on 17/01/2010 in INR, subsequently GRN also happening on 17/01/2010, than in the exchange rate configuration (OB08) we necessarily need to maintain 2 entries - direct and indirect for 17-Jan-2010, in order to evade such issues. -
Unity 4.2(1.0) delayed messages
We have customer who are having issues of delayed delivery of voicemails.. sometimes days...
The problem is that Unity holds some voicemails for days before releasing them. Some users saying that after return from holiday, they clear down all voicemails and then the following day they get some from a few days ago.
I have restarted the server and MTA service but this issue seems to return after few days.
Any idea what could be the issue or is there a bug in this version?
Help would be much appreciated.
Thanksthis is the text for the Cisco Unity 4.2(1) Engineering Special 173 (I also reported the broken link that you saw earlier):

Leading zeroes - switching off ALHPA conversion doesn't work
Hi all.
I have an IObj ZPARENT with compounding attribute ZATTR.
While loading data into ZPARENT I got errors regarding duplicate records. Errors occur because I got leading zeroes in ZATTR and records like "1", "01", "001" become "0001" .
I thought it is because of ALHPA conv. in ZATTR, so I deleted ZATTR master data, removed ALPHA conv. from ZATTR and tried to reload data. I got same duplicate key error and leading zeroes.
I also examined my transformation. It doesn't have any ALPHA conversions. I do post data into ZATTR through simple routine:
data: CATTR type c length 35.
CATTR = SOURCE_FIELDS-REF_INF.
REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF '#' IN CATTR WITH ':'.
RESULT = CATTR.
The data in PSA looks fine - it doesn't have any leading zeroes in PSA, but than it comes to IObj. I got them.
What I supposed to do to avoid leading zeroes in ZATTR??Hi,
Below SAP Note may help you out.

Leading zeroes to the objects; no conversion exist
Hi All,
Info object data is showing leading zeroes even though there is no conversion exit.
Here is the exact scenario: ZABC_WHL1 is the navigation attribute of MATNR_ABC.both fileds doesn't have any conversion exit.ZABC_WHL1 is of length 20.
Loaded the data for MATNR_ABC using a attrib data source .Upto the PSA level for ZABC_WHL1 (corresponding ECC filed)there are no leading zeroes.But when we go to display data for this objects it is showing leading zeroes ie.00000000000000023456.
Can anyone suggest how to remove these zeroes.
Thanks

Conversion routine to remove leading zeros from nonnumeric values.
Hi,
Can anybody tell me any conversion routine while can remove leading zeros from a character value.
Eg :
input : asdfe
output : 0000asdfe and vice versa
I tried with Alpha conversion routine but that is useful only with numeric values.
Please help.
Regards,
Deepti Jain.Hi,
See the following program, and the same logic you can apply in Transfer Rules/Transformations. Take ABAPer help.
REPORT ZALPHA_INPUT.
DATA: ZI(18) TYPE C,
ZO(12) TYPE C.
DATA: ZS(12) TYPE C,
ZR(18) TYPE C.
ZI = '000000099999889925'.
ZS = '099999889925'.
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT'
EXPORTING
INPUT = ZI
IMPORTING
OUTPUT = ZO.
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT'
EXPORTING
INPUT = ZS
IMPORTING
OUTPUT = ZR .
Write:/ ZI.
Write:/ ZO.
Write:/ ZS.
Write:/ ZR.

How to delimit leading zero in vendor number in OO ABAP ALV without using conversion routine
Hi,
How to delimit leading zero in OO ABAP ALV without using conversion routine, because I have many fields like vendor, customer, material number etc..
How to address this leading zero.
I appreciate your quick response.
Regards,
Nalini S.Hi Nalini,
Delimiting leading zeros in fields has to be done via conversion routines, as suggested by Vadamalai you need to pass on the conversion routine name in you field catalog variable.
Now as to which object oriented approach are you using to have your table contents display in ALV as it matters -
Using FACTORY method of CL_SALV_TABLE class, or
Using SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY method of CL_GUI_ALV_GRID class.
Using FACTORY method of CL_SALV_TABLE will do your own work, no need to apply any conversion routines or set long/medium/short text for columns as we do in field catalogs!

Remove zero in conversion file
Hi experts
Can you help me with a way to remove zero in conversion file, let me explain, I want to load transactional data from BW but I have a charateristic with 10 character but in BPC side my dimension have 8 character, technicaly in BW the file is like this:
BW
0012345678
BPC
12345678
How can I remove left zeros for the characteristic?
any input will be apreciated.
regards
Lucio Martinez!!Hi Lucio,
I will present my scenario. I want to remove the leading Zeros from the Customer ID and while transferring the values in BPC, I want to prefix the value (after removing the zeros) with 'C_'. eg: 000012345 so I want to transfer that as 'C_12345'.
In transformation file, I had done the mapping as
ID=*str(C_)+ID
which works fine, if I dont have to remove the zeros. I added code in the Conversion file
EXTERNAL INTERNAL
js:PARSEINT(%external%)
But it is giving me an error message that validation has failed for transformation file and it is giving a message that:
Line 1 :Detected duplicate member ID 'NaN' .. Line 3560 :Detected duplicate member ID 'NaN'
Can you please help me out in this situation? Any suggestions how can I achieve this?
Your replies will be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Leading zeros without ALPHA conversion
Hi all,
we had an infoobject CHAR16 with ALPHA exit, after further analysis we realized that we had to save the field without without trailing zeros so what i've done was to modify the char deleting the ALPHA exit.
I test in DEV this change and the field was populating correctly in the datastore object, for example:
Before
3455 -> 0000000000003455
After
3455 -> 3455
Now i've transported this change in production but it doesn't seem to work, after reloading a chunk of data it's still applying the ALPHA conversion to the field: i've also checked the PSA and i've got the right value.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
StefanoStefano,when you remove the alpha conversion from the infoobject then it might create some inconsistencies while loading data and also in reading the value.
Lets say firstly you loaded the data to object with Alpha conversion so value got stored like this :
3455 -> 0000000000003455
Now when you remove the Alpah conversion then value get stored as
3455 -> 3455
System will treat the above entries as two separate records and not single record.Check in system as well.
To display the data correctly you need to enter the value as they are like one with leading zeros and one without then you may be able to see both the records.
Hope this gives an idea.

Balance is not zero due to currency conversion
Hello experts,
could you please suggest me in a solution of the following issue? I use f-28 Incoming payment transaction. Document currency is usd, while local currency is euro. When currency conversion takes place rounding happens and instead of e.g. 3555,14 euro 3555,15 come up. But it appears from time to time due to rounding. Because of this, debit sum is not equal to credit sum (0,01 in our case) and consequently the balance is not zero. So, system displays the message Message no. F5060 "Posting is only possible with a zero balance; correct document".
What are the ways to correct this issue?
Regards,
Alex
Edited by: Aliaksei Klimovich on Nov 4, 2011 10:06 PMHi,
I checked OBY6 and the check box was already set. I also want to add some details. In F-28 I use BTE 1020 in order to split amount in bseg-dmbtr field. Have a look please. We have to make an incoming payment 5500 USD - this is document currency. In our functionality we split this amount into 2 amounts: 4500USD and 1000 USD, then we convert 4500 USD and 1000 USD into EURO as euro is local currency. After those conversion I get 2 line items with 4500 USD and 1000 USD in euro in bseg-dmbtr field (4500\fursf eur and 1000\kursf eur, accordingly) instead of line item with 5500 USD (5500\kursf eur). At the end of BTE 1020 FM I get a table with line items some of them are splited as I wrote above. And because of currency conversion while splitting balance is not zero.
The only idea is to spread those difference by open item positions.

DNG Conversion, with Lightroom, zero'd my photos ("From metadata")
I took the plunge and converted all my CR2s to DNG by using Lightroom, selecting all images stored in RAW and clicking "Library -> Convert Photo to DNG".
Today I notice after reviewing some older pictures that most of my pictures which only were cropped, but not adjusted otherwise looks like someone pulled a grey shade over them.
I notice a new point appear in the history called "From metadata". Going back to "Crop Rectangle" corrects the problem.
At "From metadata" the picture has a vastly different histogram, and all tones are set to zero. Along with every other setting. Brightness and Constrast are also zeroed.
What is going on here, and how do I a) stop it from happening again, b) if possible correct it without going through 1500 pictures?
Any help will be appreciated.
To my understanding zero'd is suppose to be the as the RAW was shot, so I guess there is a logical explanation as to why Lightroom did this to my pictures.I converted about 1300 images to DNG and I would say that all the photos that were cropped was zero'd. I think some of the non-modified was zero'd as well. Many images had a added "reset settings" history mark. These have not been zero'd.
The other day I converted about 60 or so, all that were only cropped was zero'd, all other was left intact.
I just tried to import a CR2, use crop, click "library -> Convert Photo to DNG" and it was zeroed right away.
I used the settings:
"Only convert RAW files" = enabled
"Delete originals after successful conversion" = enabled
I am using Mac OS X 10.4.9
Lightroom 1.0 308266
General setting:
"Automatically write changes into XMP" = disabled -
Add leading zero to matnr in a conversion program
Hi All,
When uploading matnr from a text legacy file , should i add leading zeroes to the sku value. For ex the data from the lagacy is 1000123456 (10 digits length). The values are always numbers. The matnr in SAP is 18 chars. Should my program transform it into 000000001000123456 before saving it into mara-matnr?
Regards, OliAre you sure that in configuration, the Indicator for lexicographical material numbers is unchecked? If it checked, then SAP will not then the all numeric material numbers will not get leading zeros by default. =====>
Indicator for lexicographical material numbers
Defines the way numeric material numbers are stored in the database.
Use
Caution
It is only possible to set or reset (cancel) this indicator if no numeric material numbers have been used yet in the system since they would no longer be interpretable after setting or resetting this indicator.
If this indicator is not set, numeric material numbers are padded with leading zeros and stored right-justified -
