Convert Eclipse ME project to Java ME SDK 3.0
Hi
I've created a j2me midlet in eclipse and would now like to import or convert the project to use with new Java ME SDK 3.0. Any help would be appreciated?
Thanks
Hi,
there is no import wizard from Eclipse project (maybe we could think about it). I would recomment you:
1. create a new MIDP Application project (without Hello MIDlet)
2. copy your midlet (including package structure) into "src" folder of your new project
3. open project properties, go to Application Descriptor category and register your midlet on MIDlets tab

Radko

Import J2ME source into Java ME SDK 3.0
Hi,
Im new to Java ME.
The internet has lots of J2ME examples for games(but none for Java ME SDK 3.0), and im trying to import these into Java ME SDK 3.0 . I click on new project and select 'Import Wireless Toolkit Project', but it doesn't detect a project. Ive tried this with several popular J2ME samples.
Anyone know how to do this right, so I can import J2ME projects into Java ME SDK 3.0 completely, with classes, packages and resources intact?
I tried making a new project, and then copying the files into the relevant directories too. All the classes show up in the SDK, but on running the program no app is displayed in the emulator.Don't double post. I've removed the thread you started in the Java Programming forum with the identically same question.

How to convert eclipse plug-in project to java project
I have one eclipse plug-in project which is Java and can be plug into IBM lotus Notes application. This Java eclipse plug-in project is working fine in IBM Notes and it has graphic pages. It used a lot of library like:
org.eclipse.jface,
org.eclipse.swt,
org.eclipse.ui,
org.eclipse.wb.swt,
Now we want to decouple this project from IBM Notes and make it as standandalone Java application. It could be eclipse dependent Java application, but is not plugin into IBM Notes. How to way we can convert it to standard alone Java application ? Please let me know the idea/main steps if you have any idea. I hope I don't need to rewrite every thing.
ThanksUse the file->import option to create a JDeveloper project from either existing source or WAR file.
An example of the approach is shown here:

Eclipse open project wizard - OUAF SDK 4.1 install
After installing it for the 4th time, I give up. Please help me. (I start over with a saved image in case you wonder.)
I follow the install guide word for word:
http://www.box.net/shared/z86acgmb57oi9lo8f312
When I finally get Eclipse to come up to open the project Wizard, I get this error message:
"The chosen operation is not currently available."
http://www.box.net/shared/l09aar6q00nc52znq56p
Can someone please tell me what I am missing here?
I downloaded the correct version of Hibernate, renamed it, put in in the right folder, got all the other files from one location to the other. Does it have to be that complicated?
Sorry I am so frustrated but for the last week I did not get very far.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Today I tried 2 more times with the exact same result. I believe there is something missing on the install guide as some of the screen prints are clearly not matching.
If someone has been able to successfully install this, I like to know how please.
I have made some notes just to be sure I follow along the install guide:

Edited by: LodestarGuy on Jul 9, 2011 9:31 AMThank you for your reply.
I did not remove the JDK, I just added another version.
I am using the Eclipse version that is mentioned in the install guide that I should use.
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/galileo/sr2
If you suggest to try your version I will. May I ask what other steps you might have taken that I not in the install guide?

Java ME SDK 8 Plugins for Eclipse?
When will an Oracle Java ME SDK 8 (Early Access 2, )Plugins for Eclipse become available?
Thanks. We plan to have Eclipse support around June/July, in accordance with the original Eclipse schedule for Java 8 support - this is because ME SDK 8 also needs the updated Eclipse MTJ framework.

Looking for a java-based SDK that handles file conversion to PDF and TIF...
Hi all,
First off, this is my first posting so I'm not 100% sure where to post this topic. So please forgive me if I'm accidentally posting in the wrong location.
My question deals with a project I am currently working on.
I am looking for a java-based SDK that can meet the following requirements...
1) convert all printable file-formats (i.e. JPEG, DOC, TXT, PPT, etc.) into PDF
2) merge multiple PDFs into one PDF
3) convert PDF to TIF or at least do some sort of conversion to TIF
4) works in Java or some sort of web-based language
5) free or relatively cheap
Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.I don't think you will get one API to do them all.
Some helpful hints:

hello all,
I am using jcop tool plugin with eclipse and my atr is:-
--Opening terminal
/card -a a000000003000000 -c com.ibm.jc.CardManager--Waiting for card...
ATR=3B E9 00 00 81 31 FE 45 4A 43 4F 50 34 31 56 32 ;....1.EJCOP41V2
32 A7 2.everything is fine with sample applet { it contain a empty process () or gives 90 00 for select applet apdu }
I am using eclipse ide and jcop plugin, basically my problem is to building project when any changes occoured, initially when i start a new project with steps like:-
1- java card project
2-java applet
3-package id
4-applet id
5-basic template of applet
N- finish
ok
then when screen open, at the left side i saw cap file propery window ,and automatically there are cap file in bin folder.
It means jcop tool used converter to make .cap file, but when i add some lines according to my requirment,
I am unable to build it again or unable to get a new cap file. May be i need to set some build path , but first time it automatically build so it also indicate that there are no need to set the build path. I am confused in this area.
Is i need to reference the path of converter.jar { jcdk 2.2.1 }? or jcop plugin also have the required jar for converting .class to .cap , inside it. how i rebuild it and make a new fresh .cap file.
some jar file which i paste in plugin folder of eclipse are:-
com.ibm.bluez.jcop.eclipse.demopack_1.0.2.jar
com.ibm.bluez.jcop.eclipse.perftest_1.0.2.jar
com.ibm.bluez.jcop.eclipse.signlite_1.0.2.jar
com.ibm.bluez.jcop.eclipse.targetpack.gemplus_1.0.0.jar
com.ibm.bluez.jcop.eclipse.targetpack_1.0.3.3.jar
com.ibm.bluez.jcop.eclipse_1.0.3.3.jar
com.ibm.bluez.jcop.eclipse_3.1.1.a.jarbefore i was using JCDE plugin for simulation process but here i did not use JCDE, I have only eclipse + jcop plugin
I tried to tell you, what is my problem, If you still have any doubt , Let me know.
Waiting for your reply and thanks for your time ............Thanks Umer for your suggestion , but i dont need to do this, It was my silly mistake to handle the things properly.
Initially i was unable to getting the eclipse and JCOP concept, but now i do. now I am able to build the project or eclipse is building it automatically !!!! I faced this problem b'se i am a newbie in java card. but now things going good to me.
I want to share my getting here:--
My dout was - Is jcop intially have all the Jar's , converter which is required to create a cap file????
My ans is - Yes, EVERYTHING IT HAVE INSIDE.
you just get eclipse ide and get jcop plugin, and paste jcop plugin jar's inside the plugin folder of ecipse and START ECLIPS AGAIN.
NOW EVERYTHING IS SET FOR YOU,
NO REQUIREMENT OF JCDE-java card development envoirnment
no requirement of jcdk- java card development kit ,
no requirement of set any build path in eclipse. just make your applet , and run with jcop tool.ECIPSE AUTOMATICALLY BUILD OPTION WILL CREATE A FRESH .CAP FILE WHENEVER U MADE A NEW CHANGES
cheers!!! -
Java ME SDk Tools plugins error
Yesterday I couldn't find Device Selector window in Eclipse. And when I realized that the option of Java ME was dissapeared in "Tools" I went to take a look to the plugins.
I unistalled both Java ME SDK tools and Java ME SDK Demos. In order to instal them again. But I get the message below in the pugins window:

Some plugins not installed to avoid potential installation problems.
I followed all the steps last week to get the same developing environment but I don't know what has happened.
Any help will be very usefull. ThanksI had a similar issue after uninstalling the early release of the SDK. I think it unloads some core components from the IDE. I don't remember the exact steps to fix it, but it was something like this:
1. Under Plugins dialog box, Settings tab, check the "NetBeans Distribution" option.
2. Once the window refreshes, look under Available Plugins
3. You should see a Java ME option. Install that.
After I installed that I went back and followed the steps to install the SDK. Not sure why it worked, but it did.

Hi,
I need Java ME SDK 3.2 for a project. I don't see on the downloads page, where can I still get it?
Thanks.
GuyHi,
Sorry for the late answer.
Java ME SDK 3.2 is needed to build Eclipse PAHO MQTT library (org.eclipse.paho.mqtt.java.git - MQTT Client Package - Java Language).
From the README file:
Paho Java ME client for MQTT
The Java ME client requires the Oracle J2ME SDK 3.2 (which is only available for windows) and assumes it will be installed in c:/Java_ME_platform_SDK_3.2/
The client jar is built using ant and the build.xml file in org.eclipse.paho.jmeclient.mqttv3/ -
How to manually uninstall Java EE SDK on windows?
Hear about the new Java EE SDK, I uninstall previous installation and try the new one. When I install the new one, fellow error comes out.

I refer to http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Projects/InstallProblems. There is no answer. And I try to clean file, folder and system registry. There is still the problem.
I wish there be a green version of Java EE SDK like eclipse. Would someone help me to manually uninstall old Java EE SDK and install a new one?Check your PATH environment variable - if there are any garbage entries appended to it, clean up and retry SDK installation.

[svn] 1038: Reverting Eclipse compiler projects to use 'flex-asc' project
Revision: 1038
Author: [email protected]
Date: 2008-03-31 14:39:55 -0700 (Mon, 31 Mar 2008)
Log Message:
Reverting Eclipse compiler projects to use 'flex-asc' project
* Now that we are using builds of asc from trunk/modules/asc, we can/should build/debug in Eclipse using the same sources.
Modified Paths:
flex/sdk/trunk/development/eclipse/java/flex-compiler/.classpath
flex/sdk/trunk/development/eclipse/java/flex-jars/.classpath
flex/sdk/trunk/development/eclipse/java/flex-swfutils/.classpathThis is really becoming a pain since every time I get into FlexBuilder, I have to hit my project and set the required version back to 10.0.0. (It keeps reverting to 9.x) Since I am using the new FileReference enhancements in Flash10, this is mandatory to avoid compiler errors.
I still have no way to automate the build process since there is nothing on the build machine to perform this action.
Any help would be greatly appreciated -

Does anybody know where this comes from? Is it an incompatibility with Windows 7 x64? I have installed the latest Java SDK for Win64.
I have another issue consisting in the fact that the Eclipse MJT plug-in is not abel to find any devices in the Java ME SDK 3 folder (see my post in the Eclipse forum [Post in Eclipse MJT forum|http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=156515&start=0&S=6f25cc6925ad7008453ee93ca55525a2]), does this have anything to do with the problem described above?
Thanks for your help,
Markus
Edited by: acm821 on Oct 28, 2009 2:06 PMEdit file "C:\Java_ME_platform_SDK_3.0\bin\java", replace the path of x64 jdk by path of x32 jdk.
For example, my file contains "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_21" and I change to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_21".
You need have a 32 bits jdk installed. Restart device managar after the change.
Obs.: This happens because device manager need load a 32 bits DLL. So you need run they with a 32 bits jdk.
With this method you don't need remove x64 jdk. You can stay with both jdk. -

I have following problem: I am using the Java ME SDK 3.0 and I am trying to run some sample MIDlets. For example this very basic HelloMIDlet which can be found here http://developers.sun.com/mobility/midp/articles/wtoolkit/src/HelloMIDlet.java
Build runs successfully, but if I try to run it, the emulator appears, but nothing happens. Here is a warning from the logfile:
Starting emulator in execution mode
Installing suite from: http://127.0.0.1:3607/HelloMIDlet.jad
[WARN] [rms ] javacall_file_open: _wopen failed for: C:\javame-sdk\3.0\work\0\appdb\_delete_notify.dat
[WARN] [rms ] javacall_file_open: _wopen failed for: C:\javame-sdk\3.0\work\0\appdb\_ch_suite.raw
bdj-run:
cdc-run:
profiler.check:
open-profiler:
run:
BUILD SUCCESSFUL (total time: 20 seconds)The exact same source code used with the WTK 2.5.2 builds and runs without a problem. Any ideas what the problem is?
Thanks a lot,
iobytrap1. Start ME SDK
2. File -> New Project -> MIDP Application
3. Select Project Name AND(!) check "Create Hello Midlet". Click "Next"
4. Select Device "DefaultCldcPhone1"; other as Default; Click Finish
5. Change body of the HelloMidlet.java according to http://developers.sun.com/mobility/midp/articles/wtoolkit/src/HelloMIDlet.java
//As you described
6. Click F6 (Run Main Project)
As a result: "BUILD SUCCESSFUL"; ME SDK open with "Hello,World".
So, all works. Please provide step by step scenario if you see problem yet. Also tell me please version of java.
Regards,

Java ME SDK 3.0 OSX bug
Today I decided to migrate from Netbeans(windows) to Java ME SDK 3.0 (os x)
The project compiled as expected but when I start the game this is the exception I get:
java.io.IOException: error in native parseObjChunk proc.
On the phone the game works, on the WTK emulator (windows) it works as well.
The code that throws the error is:
Object3D[] allNodes=Loader.load("file.m3g");The m3g file is exported from Blender, if needed I can send it to you, just give me an email. It is related to the configuration of the emulator (CLDC 1.0 or CLDC 1.1)...
If the configuration is CLDC 1.0 all the floating point data types (float, double, Float, Double) will not be available...
If you change the configuration to CLDC1.1 , then all the previous types will be available.
PS: I don't know how to do this in EclipseME
