Convert GUID to RID

Hi
i am going to read in a JSP file an URL which has GUID format and convert it to RID format. The sample shows theURL:
<a href="493a20804adfb2be5ba2980b435501a8-989g75632safr4df7ga2980b894742a8"> my link <a/>
Know anyone how to do it?
The other problem which is actually the first problem is, how to read the URL from  <a> -element if the user klick the link 'my linke' ?
One way to do this is using JavaScript and  <form> with hidden elements and send the url as hidden parameter to the JSP.
but maybe there is another way to do it in the JSP??
Thanks for any hint

Hi,
never tried but to get RID from shortId (GUID) try this:
RID guid = "493a20804adfb2be5ba2980b435501a8-989g75632safr4df7ga2980b894742a8";
IUriMapperService uriMapperService = (IUriMapperService)ResourceFactory.getInstance().getServiceFactory().getService("UriMapperService");
RID rid = uriMapperService.getRIDFromGuidRID(RID guid);
let me know if this worked...

    Common Ipod Info
For those who just go an ipod here is some basic info on the ipod and how to do a few things.
    Basic Info
    Disconnecting/Connecting
Just plug in via USB and wait (can take a few minutes). Ipod will load up and the screen will show DO NOT DISCONNECT go to itunes and update it or add file do whatever to it.
TO DISCCONECT do not unplug if the screen says do not disconnect. Instead you have two options.
1.) In itunes right next to where it says NAME’s IPOD (in the source window) there is a small eject button. Or you can highlight you ipod and in the bottom right there is a bigger eject ipod button.
2.) Open my computer and you should see your ipod as a removable drive. Right click it and click eject.
Ipod’s do not actually hold 30gigs or 60gigs. In stead the 30gig holds ~28gigs. This is the same as hard drives something about 1024 bytes. Look it up via google if you really care. This is normal.
    Multiple IPod
If you are sharing one computer with 2 or more iPod but do not want all the music and want only yours here is what you should do.
    1.) Open I tunes
2.) Create a new play list (file->new play list) and name it something like Moo’s play list (so you know it is yours)
3.) Add the music you want to it (go to library and drag it to you play list.)
4.) Now plug in the ipod and go to edit>preferences>ipod
5.) Select update only selected play lists and check your play list.
6.) Wait for it to update and unplug and redo with second ipod
    Getting Video’s to Ipod
    WINDOWS ONLY
Two options that I use. For both the first step if getting form DVD is to save the DVD to your computer (caution DVD’s are huge! Have 10gigs for one movie to be safe.) You must have a DVD drive to do DVD’s. CD-ROMs will not work. If you don’t have a DVD drive you can get one for like 20 bucks.
First off the Videora method. Read this guide.
    http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/guides.html
macleankara’s guide (a little bit more info and pretty simple too) http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=282835&tstart=15
Second is the Nero Recode method and you should read this guide
    http://arstechnica.com/guides/tweaks/ipod-video.ars/5
I prefer Nero why because I paid for it and it’s a bonus feature I’m using by golly!
It won’t show up on my ipod! (Music and video)
Make sure it is in the correct format.
Video’s h.264 and mpeg-4 at 320x240 Also make sure the bit rate is at the appropriate level (another reason for videora its simple and auto in right bit rate) Make sure the screen is set to 320x240 or it wont play. Mpeg-4 can show up to 480x480 but the ipod’s screen is maxed at 320x240 so it will be shrunk down with black border on all sides.
Music just makes them into mp3’s
As for the battery read this from apple
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61434
hope this helps some people. and hopefully will reduce redundant questions

I don't know what you mean by "appendages".
You can create a contact which phone number will contain a pause, then continues other numbers, and then wait for a click from you, and then continue again.
    from the home screen :
phone application >> menu >> help >> Phone basics >> Make a call >> Related tasks >> Add a pause or a wait to a phone number

  • Converting Home Video

I was just wondering if there is a way to convert home video. I have a bunch of AVI home video files and are wondering if i could convert them to work on my 5g ipod.

I f you check the link it will tell you exactly how to do it.
Videora is just one of 2 pieces of software you do need to transfer AVI to the ipod.
1st you import the avi or other file from a dvd disk into dvd decrypter then you transcode the file with Videora then its ready to go to the pod.
Again here is the link which has a step by step guide, I did a search on google for the dvd decypter and downloaded it from the third on the list.

  • PLEASE,help me!  iPod 30 GB - compressing & converting videos & backing up

Please!!! Can somebody help me?? I've posted this message, but I haven't had an answer... I'd like to know how can I compress and convert the video so it will be smaller in my ipod???
and I'd like to know if when I back up from my smart playlist do I have to use a rewritable cd or if I use a normal virgin cd it's ok....and, plus, recording my smart playlist (i mean, a back up cd) means recording and compressing the files into the cd (because i have a lot of songs and, normally, all of them wouldn't fit into only one cd)?

  • How to convert stuff onto new iPod...?

Ok. So I just got a new iPod Touch 4th generation for Christmas :). And my old one is a 1st generation. And recently the computer I used iTunes with my 1st generation, crashed. And i'm using my other laptop but it doesn't have the saved stuff. And I need to sync my songs and pictures onto the 4th generation. Since my old computer crashed is there a way I can use the other laptop even if it doesn't have the same stuff? And if there is how so?
(When I plug in the 1st generation to the new laptop, everything comes up normal. I can look through pictures and apps, same old stuff. So is there a way when I plug in the new way it will sync to the 4th generation? If there is how so? )
