Convert mp4 format to mp3,wmv,etc in nokia mobile

Hey, i'm using a nokia 7230 mobile handset, which doesn't support mp4 vedios which i download from the internet. I hate connecting my phone to the computer just to convert the vedios and back.. So is there an app i can download to convert mp4 vedios in the handset, so i can stream it....

Yes, go to Preferences in iTunes, set the Import setting under the General tab to use MP3. Then select the tracks you want to convert, now you should see a choice in the File menu called 'Create New Version' with a sub-choice of MP3.

  • Converting mp4 files to mp3 files

    could someone tell me how to convert mp4 files into mp3 files? thanks

    Now this is clear.
    You didn't have an .mp4 file or even a .m4a file. Yours is .m4p.
    The "p" stands for protected.
    The rules say you can burn your .m4p files to CD. The CD file will be in .aiff format.
    Drag the .aiff file into iTunes and then "convert" (using the options in your preferences for bit rate and extension).

  • Converting mp4 files to mp3

    I'm trying to send a song which has been downloaded from i-tunes to my phone via bluetooth, but my phone doesn't have an mp4 player on it, and ive tried converting it but even when I thought I did, i still cant play it on my phone, therefore does anyone know if it is possible to convert mp4 into mp3 files or any other advise gratefully welcomed.
    Thanks ben

    If you've downloaded it from the iTunes Store, then you won't be able to play the file on your phone because iTunes Store purchased tracks are protected against copying/conversion to MP3.
    If the file is ripped from your own CD you can convert it using the guide here:
    http://askbobrankin.com/convertitunes_to_mp3format.html
    Otherwise, you will have to burn an audio CD of the track(s), then re-rip them in MP3 format for your phone.

    How do I convert mp4s to mp3s?
    Thanks, Pat

    Go to iTunes>Preferences>General and choose the Import Settings button. Pick the format you want to convert your files to (MP3 for example). in your iTunes library or playlist highlight the song or songs you want to convert and go to the Advanced menu on the top bar of iTunes and choose, again for example "Create MP3 version": How to convert a song to a different file format format

  • Converting Mp4 format to iPod(m4v)

    I initially posted this in the wrong Forum, Here's my issue...
    I purchased the QuicktimePro Registration key for Windows(XP), to convert movies(mp4) format to Ipod(30gb).
    QuicktimePro DOES NOT convert mpeg-4 to Ipod format, m4v or mov?
    I followed the xact instruction in the manual, followed one of the QT-Tech Support, he even gave me a supporting/reading materials related to my inquiry, I have 2 co-workers behind my shoulders who tried to help but no luck.
    My OS is XP, Quicktime plays all my movies(mp4)format without a problem, but when it comes to exporting, (Movie to iPod 320X240)the exported movie is successful but still in mp4 format, instead of m4v I believe.
    I spent for something that I did not enjoy. A very useless feature.

    How nice of you, thanks Kyn...
    Yes, you are right, Videora works and it's FREE, actually there's a lot in the market but my point is, A lot of us bought this QT 7 Pro, and ended with a lot of questions?
    I feel sorry for the beginners who really love iPod and found frustration when it comes to conversion.
    Quicktime 7 Pro is perfect to convert Movie to iPod only if you have:
    PC with Mac OS, iMovie HD (iMovie HD is only for MAC)
    So forget Quicktime 7 Pro if you have Windows no matter what version.
    my 2cents...
    Actually I found the most perfect ways how to watch the best movie to my iPod 5thgen, right after I found out that this QT 7 Pro doesn't work. I tell you watching movie in iPod is so wonderful, a crisp movie in the palm of your hand.
    I Posted my issue in the Forum, right after I spoke with Their QTime without any good answer to my question. The Guy directed me to this Discussion, thinking that I can get the solution, apparently not.
    So by posting this issue is also to CHALLENGE any of the Quicktime Support. Just hoping that anyone from Quicktime will come forward with their best effort to help our fellow iPod users.

  • Converting MP4's to MP3's... Can this be done?

    After Getting up to about 4000 songs on my i-tunes library i realized that the cd's can be imported in mp3 format, which is what I'd rather have so I can burn mp3 disks to play in my car. Is there a simple way to Comvert all my tracks over. I have wondered if I wipe out my library and try to upload from my backups but change the conversion to mp3, if they would still upload in mp4 format?!? any ideas?

    When I go to my .Mac email account, I cannot find the group anywhere.
    The .Mac interface to the address book does not support the Groups defined in OS X's Address Book.
    If you have multiple Macs and use .Mac for synchronization, the Groups will be synchronized between the Macs.

    Karri,
    If you have .m4a (iTunes Plus songs), you can convert them by using these instructions:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1550
    If you have .m4p (DRM-encumbered iTunes songs purchased prior to mid-2009) you must first upgrade them to iTunes Plus by following these instructions:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1711

  • Converting mp4 movie to mp3 audio

    I have a movie that I converted to mp4 using iSquint.
    I want to extract the mp3 so that I can add it to my mp3 player and listen to the audio of the movie.
    How can I do this?
    I tried importing into iTunes but the mp4 file did not appear in the library.

    I would highly recommend Miro Video Converter, free from the Mac App Store, which has a simple interface with an option to export as MP3. I use the program regularly with great results

  • Convert mp4 video to mp3 audio?

    Does anyone know how I could take just the audio from a MP4 video and save it as an MP3?

    Hey KenjiL- for the future- other options for you.
    Wiretap Pro- It will record any audio playing on your computer. The unregistered version will only record aiffs but that would be perfect for cds. The registered version is definitly worth the couple bucks for the extra features though.
    OR
    FFmpegX-- Just a general great conversion utility that will prety much go for anything to anything so long as you download the binaries for the encoders. Great stuff.

  • Calling Desktop.open() on avi/mp3/wmv/etc (media) files.

    Hello all,
    I am using the Desktop class to open files on the desktop in my signed applet. This is working perfectly for ppt, pps, doc, xls, txt, jpg, pdf files. However, for some reason I am unable to launch any media-type files using this method. I get errors such as "java.io.IOException: Failed to open file:/C:/Users/Bryan/Desktop/4542-sun/Butterfly.wmv. Error message: No application is associated with the specified file for this operation."
    However, there are indeed applications associated with these file types... namely Windows Media Player. Double-Clicking the file directly launches it in WMP as it should. I have been searching around high and low, and can't find much. Note the fact that it is trying to open a URI, starting with file:/. Originally it was just opening the location directly, but I tried using a URI instead to no avail.
    This has happened on 3 separate computers now.
    I have done a work around using Runtime.getRuntime().exec(). However, some of the filenames I am working with can possibly have asian and other UTF-8 characters. That causes a whole new issue, described in http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4947220. I have no idea how to begin using JNI to directly call ShellExecute or if that is even possible from a signed applet standpoint.
    Does anyone have any idea how to fix the issue with Desktop.open() and media files?
    Thanks

    Ok I have searched and searched and found no reliable solution for either of the previous issues. Since this applet is run on a closed intranet, with no fear of malicious intent, I have gone for a different route.
    try {
         desktop.open(new File(fileToOpen.toURI()));
    } catch (Exception e) {
         window.call("launchFile", new Object[] { file.toString() });
    }When the call to Desktop.open() fails, I catch the exception and call a javascript function launchFile(), defined below.
    function launchFile(filename) {
            var o = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell");
            o.run(filename);
    }Of course, this limits us to IE ... but it is a necessary evil until Sun fixes the bugs in Desktop.open() and Runtime.exec().
    Hope this helps someone. Again, I still welcome other options.

  • Converting .mov to .avi, .wmv etc

    Does anyone know of any mac software that can convert .mov files to .avi, .wmv etc..

    yes agree with previous., go purchase FFMac from telestream either the standard SDPRO or the HDPRO version for your needs.
    Once in as a QT components, you can SELECT the mode for transode of the type of object you want transcoded in the COMPRESSOR.app INSPECTOR/ENCODER listbox as:
    ENCODE/FILE FORMAT/QUICKTIME COMPONENTS/Encoder Type list box...
    select .wmv etc...
    works ok but the FFpro encoding for WMx etc is not as good as .H264 ...(imho) and I was not too satisfied with the results for HDV 1080i recently..
    hope that helps.

  • Converting mp4 to mp3

    Help - I'm no techie! I simply wanted to convert mp4 files to mp3, which wouldn't work in itunes, because they are 'protected' files. A friend suggested Audacity, which I downloaded. I opened a file in Audacity, went to export as mp3, and got the message that "Audacity does not export mp3 files directly, but instead uses LAME, an mp3 exporting library available separately. would you like to locate LameLib now?" I clicked yes, but couldn't find anything in finder. At a loss, I went back to sourceforge and clikced to download LAME, hoping it would automatically sort everything. Nothing appeared to happen. It didn't seem to download, and I couldn't find any trace of it on computer.
    Any help with this much appreciated - I just want to convert the files so I can put em on an mp3 CD! Seems like it should be incredibly simple to solve, but I am lost.

    Wait a minute! There is an answer to your (and my) problem in the thread just below yours.

  • How do you convert .mov to .mpeg or .wmv?! please help!!!

    i made a video and put it up on YouTube.com, and tons of people have emailed me saying they want to download it. however, the only format i can put it in is .mov and .mp4 and windows computers can't play these formants.....at least i don't think they can. can they play .mov? i know for a fact they can't play .mp4......
    so i was hoping someone knows about some type of converter so I can let my windows friends download it.....that way they don't have to go to youtube all the time just to see it.....if you do, it has to be a free download cuz i'm poor. lol.
    thanks again......
    remember, i'm trying to convert .mp4 or .mov TO .wmv or .mpeg

    * the .mov container can be handled by any PC with a free download of Quicktime for Windows; but many PC users hesitate doing so, because on the Apple website it looks like you instali iTunes too... many PC don't like that...
    * .mp4 can be handled by any actual PC mediaplayer... again: PC users are used to import .wmv (or the very old .avi container/not supported by YouTube)
    * for exporting .wmv on a Mac, you need to buy a licence at www.flip4mac.com
    * mpeg... the MotionPictureExpertGroup published many codecs... mpeg1, mpeg2, mpeg4, h261, h264. .... but using iM as exporter, all these mpegs will be "hidden" in the QT container .mov... with QTpro you can strip-off the container, but I recommed the beginner to use one of the above mentioned options......

  • Help needed in playing HTML ' object ' videos with formats mov, avi, wmv...

    Hi,
    Here is where I am at this juncture...
    I have a requirement wherein I need to render an HTML text containing an '<object>' tag which embeds a video, for example:-
    <object width="320" height="240"
               data="javascript/media/ABC.wmv"
               type="application/x-mplayer2">
              <param name="url" value="javascript/media/ABC.wmv" />
    </object>
    Now I need to render this video into my Flex Web Application.
    One way to do it, as I see, is somehow extract the 'data' attribute and put it as a 'source' for spark VideoPlayer.
    Is there any better way to do this?
    Also note that, I require to render all video formats (avi, mov, wmv etc.) and not just flv or f4v. Any pointers for this would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Question: Are these still images jpeg or Kodak's EXIF? or are you using the camera in HD movie mode where iMovie fails to recognize the file format/s?
    If you read the system requirements for this device it clearly states X.3 or higher. However, I'm wondering if this also includes X.5.1 or not .....
