Convert .ppt to .pptx without Compatibility Mode

Hi, folks!
I try to convert any kind ppt/pps files to pptx (Office2013) with interop in c# .net 4.5.
My Application runs on a client pc and should not be vissible.
I tried SaveAs and SaveCopyAs, but both lead to a presentation in Compatibility Mode.
The Compatibility Mode can not be left manually by: File->Info->Convert (Popup: SaveAs).
The Only way i have found, is to find a video. Open Context Menu and Pres 'Preview'.
A Msg Box appears:
Media Object Upgrade: We need to upgrade media objects in this presentation. Would you also like us to embed all linked media files an convert legacy media formats?
To automate this is huge pain itA.
Is there a way to upgrad a ppt presention to Office 2013 with any feat. avaible without any ui just c#?

I am looking for a power shell script to convert .doc file to .docx in word 2013 and also make the compatibility mode go away. So the user only has to open it and has no issues with compatibility. I have found a couple but still have the compatibility mode when opening.

How do you turn off compatibility mode in excel?

My app opens automatically in compatibility mode. How do I turn that off. I only want to use this when I need it.

Just found this on Google so appreciate post is from 2010 but no-one seems to have mentioned that if you go to File -> Info there is a 'convert' option which you can use to convert from 2003 to 2010 without having to re-save manually yourself.
It'll come up with a message saying 'do you want to re-open now?', click yes and you'll have a 2010 version of your workbook with no compatability mode.
I don't think you can turn it off, but it'll stop being a problem once everyone starts using office 2010 anyway which now office 2003 support is ending should be soon, one would hope

Firefox will not open unless I run it in compatibility mode (Windows XP SP 3), run it as an administrator, or launch it immediately after a reinstall (the reinstall thing only works once.) How do I fix this?

This morning, Firefox crashed. After this, when I click the Firefox icon, the hourglass appears and then nothing happens. Firefox does briefly appear in the task manager when I do this.
I tried rebooting. I tried reinstalling multiple times. (Firefox will run when I select "Launch Firefox" from the installer. Then the problem occurs again.) I tried safe mode. I have found that Firefox will work if I select Windows XP compatibility mode from the icon properties menu or if I run the program as an administrator. When I do this, Windows asks me if I want a program to be able to make changes to my computer.
I have noticed that a Windows Error Report is being generated each time Firefox will not open.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Office 2013 freezing when running in compatibility mode.

When a 1997-2003 doc is opened in Office 2003 it opens in compatibility mode and causes lock ups/delays. This issue is replicated with a network and local copy of the file to negate issues on comms side. No memory/processing spikes, occuring. Uninstalled/deleted
reg keys/reinstalled, issue remains. All updates and up to date drivers installed. Is this a common fault/something you guys have dealt with before?
I have left our client with a workaround in the form of converting the file to the new file format, however, this particular user has vast amounts of 1997-2003 docs so a fix is highly prefereable.

I get "We can't verify who created this file" for every PPT or PPTX file I open on my local network (Win 7 only, not Win 8)

I've searched around, and perhaps I've missed it, but I have a specific problem that just started today (4/1/2014). I have 3 PCs in a local home network and they all have been sharing things fine so far. PC1 is my main storage computer (Windows
7), another is a laptop (Windows 7) and a third is a laptop (Windows 8.1).
On the Windows 7 laptop, when I open Windows Explorer and navigate my way to a file I want to open (which is stored on PC1) and double click on the file to open it USED to just open using the right program (PowerPoint2007) which I have fully installed on
the Win 7 laptop. Note also that "Microsoft Office (2010)" came pseudo-loaded on the laptop, but I have set the default for all PPT and PPTX files to be opened using PowerPoint2007. I've had a few hiccups in the past where this undesired,
not-fully-loaded version tries to get in the way of me opening files with PowerPoint2007, but right now all files are set to open using PowerPoint2007.
So I'm not going on the internet, I'm not using IE, and this is only happening with PPT and PPTX files and only on my Win 7 laptop. DOC/DOCX and XLS/XLSX files open fine with the 2007 version of the Word and Excel respectively. All files, including
the PPT and PPTX files on PC1 are openable without trouble on the Win8 laptop with PowerPoint2007.
Any idea why this would suddenly start happening?

I'm having trouble understanding how cacheing is related to how windows resolves this security violation, and why changing the Internet's custom security settings makes the caching problem go away? You are correct in that running a mdb file from
the desktop does not produce the warning; however this is a database housed on a shared drive so that the database is accessable to other users...
unfortunately unblock is not presented as an option in the file properties, and even if it was that seems a bit impractical to do for every single zip file on a share drive which would accumulate more files as multiple users add to it.
Also: I have two computers with the same settings in both the trusted sites and the Launch apps, but one opens fine and the other does not.

Compatibility mode message comes up when launching itunes

When I launch the new itunes (downloaded today) I get a message "itunes.exe has been set to run in compatibility mode for an older version of windows . For best results turn off compatibility mode for itunes before you open it." After I click ok itunes lauches without problems. My question is what do I need to do?

Player 10.1 and Air using Compatibility Mode

This is related to post at http://forums.adobe.com/message/2933137#2933137, but, thought I should start another since that one is marked answered.
I'm having a similar issue with an Air app, but, I am using 4.1 SDK (and LCCS 10.1 swc), but still getting the same error regarding GroupSpecifier (pasted below).
I have an Air app project and related web app project, which both use a library project (ARSystemLib in the trace below). The library project is using 4.1 SDK, and has the Flex 3 compatibility mode turned on, along with 10.1.0 set as "use a specific version" under "Flash Player Options". The Air project is also using 4.1 SDK and Flex 3 compatibility, along with the compiler option "-target-player=10.1.0".
For the web app, I had to remove the "Use a specific version" of 10.1.0 for it to compile ( was getting many "Classes must not be nested", which seems to be a difficult issue to fix after much research on others getting this message).
I'm okay with the web version not using 10.1 for p2p, but, critically need this for the Air version. I'm hoping it's not the "Compatibility" mode setting, as reworking the app without is a huge undertaking.

Apologies for the delayed response. I am guessing you will have to update the namespace in your <PROJECTNAME>-app.xml file under src of your project.
Your name space should be 2.0 or greater.
Its possible that your app has namespace like -
<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5"> ,
but it should be
<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.0">
Also other options is to add -target-player=10.1.0 to your flex compiler options [additional compiler arguments]

Height is determined by content. I can't think of a single reason to have a div height of 5px because almost nothing will fit inside that small a space without problems.
As to why it doesn't show up in other devices, you must have put that style into the Tablet CSS code instead of the default Mobile CSS code.
Fluid Grids build up from Mobile (applied to everything) with specific rules for Tablets, then Desktops.
Best advice, use Fluid Grids for layout only. Use a separate CSS file for content styles.

Cannot disable compatibility mode for all users once enabled

I work for a school district technology department. For a computer lab that is using an old version of adobe Photoshop, we tried turning compatibility mode to windows xp and set it to run as administrator for all users in hopes that it might fix some problems
with the program. When students log on it now asks them for a password. They do not have local administrator rights to the computers. After going back in and disabling the compatibility settings, the students are still being asked for a password to run the
program. I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop and the computer is still asking for a password to open the program. Is there some way to undo this in a permanent fashion so students are not asked for a pssword?

Please correct me if I have misunderstanding:
1. The student account can ran the Photoshop without administrator password before you turn compatibility mode to Windows XP.
2. Then, the students need the password to run the Photoshop no matter if you use compatible setting.
Please take the following steps and check if this issue still exists.
1. Enable built-in administrator account
2. Use the following code
runas /user:ComputerName\Administrator /savecred "Full path to program's exe file"

Keynote '09 will not open ppt or pptx files

Although I have had no trouble in the past, presently I am unable to open both .ppt and .pptx PowerPoint files in Keynote. The progress bar gets about 1/4 to 1/3 across and just stays there indefinitely until I force quit Keynote (I have left my office and returned sometime later, and it was still in the same spot). I have reinstalled Keynote, restarted the computer without success in correcting this problem.

After reinstalling the system software and the Combo10.6.4 update, reinstalling iWorks'09 and the 9.0.3 update, I repaired the permissions using the Snow Leopard installation disk and PowerPoint .pptx open fine.

IE8 compatibility mode error?

I built this page a few weeks back: http://www.brightwork.com/overview and recently I've been told there's a bug where all the text on the first page wont display. It merely appears as Undefined. From other errors I've weeded out I know that Undefined means that the text files those batches of text are loading from are not being loaded properly, however my preloader shouldn't allow it to start without those files being loaded.
I have been unable to repeat the bug, but apperantly it has something to do with having Compatibility Mode disabled. Can anyone who goes to that link tell me if it works for them, and if you have any ideas why it might be breaking those other times please tell me!

Table compatibility mode nw04plus and dependent OVS-es in the row

I have a following problem.
Lets say I have a table, whose compatibility mode is set to
nw04plus, so the user can input values in the table cells without changing lead selection.
Lets assume that this table has three columns: colA, colB, colC. Each one of these columns is OVS-enabled.
Input values (method applyInputValues) for colC OVS are being taken from colA (from the same row). Each column is
of type InputField.
Lets assume that there are three rows in the table and lead selection is on the first row. All rows are filled
with sample data, except for column colC.
Now the problem is when the user clicks for example in the
column colC in the third row. Then the OVS popup window is
being shown but the input values for this popup are being taken not from the row where the user has clicked but from
the current lead selection and that's not what I want.
Is there any way to handle this without changing lead selection?
I've read pdf file "Enchancing Web Dynpro Table Performance" but there this problem is solved for IWDLinkToAction, not OVS-enabled InputField.

you were right, there was a bug, but it was in my code.
Now everything is working ok.
It appeared that in method
public void applyInputValues(IWDNodeElement applicationNodeElement, IWDNodeElement queryInputNodeElement)
the applicationNodeElement points to the currently clicked row too when using OVS. I thought that it points only to the lead selection row.
Anyway, there was a bug in that method from my part, I've been getting
input values from another controller from lead selection and not from applicationNodeElement variable.
