Convert runtime error to failure
I am using the ProcessModelPostStepRuntimeError model callback to handle any errors in my system. Some of the errors that occur are actually caused by a faulty UUT and I would like then to be reported as a failure and not an error. Is there an easy way to convert a step error into a step failure while still adding the error code/message to the report text?
Thanks,
Toby
Here's what I have come up with so far...this seems to work OK but seems pretty messy. Any suggestions, improvements, etc?

Seq File Post Step Runtime Error and Failure
Hi,
I am using SequenceFilePostStepRuntimeError & SequenceFilePostStepFailure
in my seq file to handle both.
the issue at hand is that, once there is error the execution runs to runtime-error (SequenceFilePostStepRuntimeError) thats fine then again i run my Test-Step & error is generated & it again jumps to runtime-error { Test-Step is a Pass/Failtest}
but after that it jumps to SequenceFilePostStepFailure. I want to avoid this. can I reset the flag which says that no PostStepFailure ?.
In my Runtime-error step I also change the "Parameters.Step.Result.Status" to display my custom status .aparab wrote:

Do i understand this sentence correctly if a state:
In your SequenceFilePostStepError callback, you change the status of the step calling into that callback because of a Runtime Error (Status: "Error") to the status "Failed"?
If so, it is expected behavior, no, it even is "works as intended".
You can use the TS API to disable the PostStepFailure callback, but you cannot enable this callback in the same step. So it would require an additional step for enabling the Failure-callback again which seems to makes things more complicated compared to NOT setting the step' result to "Failed"....

How to have a runtime error or failure cause all executions to stop and cleanup
I am using batch parallel mode. It's easy enough to terminate or abort all executions from SequenceFilePostStepRuntimeError using IEngine.TerminateAll() and .AbortAll(), but I would like to be able to set an error on all my running executions and cause them to run cleanup when I encounter an error on ANY of the test socket executions.
Anyone have an example of how I might do this?
Thanks,
JakeI did something like this for a failure handler once... and looking through my code I think the biggest headache is to realize that one execution socket has no easy way of seeing the execution references for other sockets. These things are kept by the process model's top level execution... which you also don't have a super easy time accessing without tweaking some logic in your Model file.
(1)Somehow or another you want to get access to the "TestUUTs"/"SinglePass" Fileglobals.TestSocketExecutions[] array and make use of it in your classic RuntimeError callback. The easiest solution (but not the most elegant) would be to edit your model to copy/clone the file global into someplace more convenient... ie "TestUUTs - TestSocketEntrypoint".
(2) in your error callback, handle your error as usual i.e. tell top level sequence to go to cleanup etc. but also loop through the other execution references and do some variation on GetSequenceContext() and setting Runstate.sequenceErrorCode and the rest. The example api calls below are probably overkill...
Locals.currentExeContext=Locals.currentexecution.AsExecution.GetThread(0).GetSequenceContext(0, Nothing)
Locals.currentExeContext.AsSequenceContext.SequenceErrorCode=Locals.RecievedError.Code,
Locals.currentExeContext.AsSequenceContext.SequenceErroroccurred=Locals.RecievedError.Occurred,
Locals.currentExeContext.AsSequenceContext.SequenceErrorMessage=Locals.RecievedError.Msg,
Locals.currentExeContext.AsSequenceContext.ErrorReported =True, Locals.currentExeContext.AsSequenceContext.GotoCleanup =True
I'm using "Locals.RecievedError" as my error buffer in this case because it made sense to me to modifiy the error text to include which socket actually had the error (since now it's propigated to all sockets).
Locals.RecievedError.Msg=Parameters.Step.Result.error.msg+" Occurred on Socket#"+Str(RunState.TestSockets.MyIndex)
or something like that...
Was this what you were looking for? If you're really stumped and can tell me what version of TS you're using, I'll try and extract an example from my old code that you can use, but hopefully this helps.
Cheers,
Elaine R.

While Copying the cotes have come closer otherwise its working fine , i was able to find the error .
There are ten predefined ABAP data types. There are 100 possible type combinations between these elementary data types. ABAP supports automatic type conversion and length adjustment for all of them except type D (date) and type T (time) fields which cannot be converted into each other.
I commented the TimeStamp part where i had given the ABAP Type as D and it started working .
But now i want to display the content of "TimeStamp" field but i am not able to do so .
This is the format in which it has to be displayed 2009.011.915.3353.
Which ABAPTYPE i need to use ?.
i am able to display in this format 20090119153353

ITunes 11.1.4 update failure. Runtime Error 6034
I have had a complete nightmare today following an attempt to update iTunes 11.1.38 to 11.1.4 on my PC running Windows 7 Home Premium.
These are the errors I encountered
During installation the following messages were displayed ..
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify you have sufficient provileges to start system services.
Whether I clicked Retry or Ignore, this message still appeared.
Clicking Abort triggered a further message ...
The Installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occurred during the Installation. Your system has not been modified. Please run the installer again or click Finish to Exit
Temporary relief, thinking that iTunes had been rolled back to the previous settings of version 11.1.38
Running the installer again had exactly the same result.
iTunes then failed to launch
An attempt at launching the program triggered the following Error
Runtime Error R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C Runtime library incorrectly. Please contact Application support team for more information.
This is when I turned to this Forum for help and found the following advice in various posts which have solved the problem Follow the steps in this article to completely remove iTunes from your PC http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
If, like me, you are unable to uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support Check this thread and follow the advice given by b_noir in the 4th post down, which is to download and run this tool http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall It takes its time so be patient, it did fix it for me.
Reboot.
Re Install iTunes I chose to stick with version 11.1.38, which I knew worked.
This worked for me, I hope it helpsTHE ABOVE or http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376 WORKS AND IT IS FROM APPLE
Basically it instructs you with a link to get a MS (MicrosoftFixit) software tool that wipes the registry, so you can do a clean install.
Follow the instructions and it should be fine.
I don't know why Apple is not putting this on the front page of itunes.com. Of course they should post a new itunes that does not muck your 'puter, but I think if you tried already it is too late unless you fix what they effed. -
Runtime error CONNE_IMPORT_CONVERSION_ERROR in MM module
Hi all,
When we call the selection variants in the document overview in
Transactions ME21N, ME22N, ME33N, ME51N, ME52N, ME53N, ME54N, the
CONNE_IMPORT_CONVERSION_ERROR runtime error occurs.
Runtime Errors CONNE_IMPORT_CONVERSION_ERROR
Date and Time 28.05.2007 12:38:35
ShrtText
Error in IMPORT statement: Change of length on conversion.
What happened?
Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "AQZZ/SAPQUERY/MEMEPO==========" had to be terminated
because one of the
statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
Error analysis
When importing an object, it became apparent that one or more characters
would not be converted, or that conversion would result in a length
change. If you add the IGNORING CONVERSION ERRORS addition, the program
will not terminate, even though the object contains characters that
cannot be converted.
How to correct the error
If the error occurred in one of your own programs or in an SAP program
that you modified, try to correct it yourself.
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
use the following search criteria:
"CONNE_IMPORT_CONVERSION_ERROR" C
"AQZZ/SAPQUERY/MEMEPO==========" or " "
"%_IMPORT_VARI_CLNT"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
Save->Local File (unconverted)".
2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
"System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.

Without changing the application source, after the upgrade from Upgrade from JDeveloper 9.0.2.289 to 9.0.3.1035 we are receiving the runtime error code:

The AtyId is defined as surrogate key. sequence number
It is strange. This field is a defined DBSequence number and should be automaticaly incremented each new record.
At the "old" version it was working and with the upgrade, not more.
Should one new parameter be defined to have it running again?
ThanksA bug 2535331 was reported for this issue:
The bug was in 902 that BC4J did not enforce null checks for domains properly. In 903 it does and that leads to validation failure in DBSequence case as in this case, the DB value for the domain is null as database generates the right value for new entities. To fix that when you open/close the Entity-editor it re-establishes the domain settings on the attribute leading it to be non-mandatory.
In JDev 903, Entity editor should not allow DBSequence domains to be "checked" as "Mandatory"
A known workaround is to visit all such entities that have DBSequence attribute marked as mandatory and open/finish editor so that attribute properties for the DBsequence attribute is regenerated and the wizard takes off the mandatory setting.
You may say that the migration/upgrade process should have 'fixed' this and we missed that boat on this issue. -
My Itunes wont open and i get a message which reads as follows:

Runtime Error that Seems to be Related to Dialog Boxes
Although I am currently taking a college course in Java and my code is based on a couple of questions from my Java textbook, I would like to make it perfectly clear that this is NOT homework. This is self-assigned for studying purposes and my professor will probably never see this, let alone grade it. Regardless, I suspect this to be a configuration-related issue as I had no such problems running this program in a Vista machine on campus. Assuming I am right, there shouldn't be any issue with any of this community's policies as I won't need to receive any "answer" code to solve this issue.
In NetBeans, my program compiles and works fine, but produces a couple of runtime errors. Any idea what could be going on here?
Here's my code:
import java.util.Scanner; // Needed for console input.
import javax.swing.JOptionPane; // Needed for dialog boxes.
This program performs the actions requested in questions 2.35 and 2.36 in the textbook.

Runtime error while executing transaction BDLS
Hello,
While executing BDLS transaction for converting logical system names I am getting following error
Runtime Errors CONVT_NO_NUMBER
Except. CX_SY_CONVERSION_NO_NUMBER
Short text
Unable to interpret "7,160 " as a number.
How to resolve the above problem?Hi Rachel,
BDLS creates an ABAP program SBDLS* which includes all the tables possibly including logical system names as of the domain behind the table fields. This program firstly
lives in runtime only and is checked by syntax checker.
Now, sometimes tables have inconsistencies associated with them and you
will get this dump when a syntax check is performed on them.
So please check this and regenerate the culprit tables.
So please redo the steps for BDLS and check. There are
probably some tables which could be determined by you (syntax
check - in case program has already been saved only)
An easy way to check this is to run RBDLS2LS program (old BDLS) and
afterwards performing a syntax check on generated RBDLS*** (RBDLS<(>
<<)>(>
<<(><<)>)>ClientName>) program.
Known tables which caused such dumps in the past are:
DFKKCOLFILE_P_W
DFKKKO
DFKKMKO
DFKKREP06
DFKKREP06_S
DFKKREP07
DFKKREV06
DFKKREV07
Simply reactivate the tables you find out in SE11.
Another thing which has lead to this dump in the past is
in your R/3-System the value ' x ' is
additionally added to the value of your current release in the basis
release table SVERS.
The table RSBASIDOC takes the release value from the table SVERS.
If you change value 'x' to your release in both tables (SVERS and
RSBASIDOC) and
and activate again your source system connection. This could solve the
dump too.
I hope, this helps-if not, pls open a message with SAP.(component: BC-MID-ALE)

Thanks & Regards,
RajHi Rajesh,
Why don't you debug that program.
You can go to his program : GP4808B5A4QZRB6KTPVU57SZ98Z 3542
How :
1. tcode : se38
2. type : GP4808B5A4QZRB6KTPVU57SZ98Z 3542
3. Set highlight there,
Then setup with debug mode, finnaly you execute the dtp.
And watch carefully, in what part you get an error.
Hopefully it can help you a lot.
Regards,
Niel

Runtime error while putting negative value in to table control field
Hi Guys,
I am working on a Table Control which has Currency
and quantity fields.In PBO when the program is trying put a
negative value then It is going into a runtime error.
The Error description is,
Runtime errors DYNPRO_FIELD_CONVERSION
Error analysis
The program flow was interrupted and could not be resumed.
Program "SAPMZDBPRJCTEDFIG" tried to display fields on screen 0100. However, an
error occurred while this data was being converted.
How to correct the error
A conversion error occurred while the program was trying to display data on the screen.
The ABAP output field and the screen field may not have the same format.
Some field types require more characters on the screen than
in the ABAP program. For example, a date field on a screen needs
two characters more than it would in the program. When attempting to
display the date on the screen, an error will occur that triggers the
error message.
Screen name.............. "SAPMZDBPRJCTEDFIG"
Screen number............ 0100
Screen field............. "ZDB_PROJCTD_FIG-ZWORKDONE"
Error text............... "FX015: Sign lost." Further data:
I have tried increase the screen field length to more than the ABAP program field length and the scrren field name is of data type which supports signed value.
But still I am getting the error.the error is 'Sign is lost'.
I would appreaciate if you can help me with this.
Correct answer will be rewarded.
Thank you in advance,
