Convert tables into text

Is it possible to convert tables into text (easy way and no changes)?
Thanks!

After copy & paste use DW's Find & Replace feature (Ctrl+F)
Find in: Current document
Search: Specific Tag   table
Action:  Strip tag.
Repeat for tr,  th, td,  tbody, etc...

    How do I convert a table into text

    James,
    I can only speak to the OSX version of iWork, and I'm not sure which version you are working with. The easiest approach is to Copy the Table in Numbers and Paste into Pages.
    If your table has only 1 column, you may as while Paste and Match Style into Pages and you will go straight to text. With multiple columns, if you want to preserve the layout, as most users would, using tabs to maintain the column alignment, Select the table in Pages and Format > Table > Convert Table to Text.
    As sometimes happens, things are easier in TextEdit than in Pages. A Paste and Match Style in TextEdit gives you a tab-aligned text field directly.

  • I purchased PDF Converter Plus, v1.0 (4 ). I am unable to convert PDF into text. I get all gibberish when I try to do the conversion.

    I purchased PDF Converter Plus, v1.0 (4 ). I am unable to convert PDF into text. I get all gibberish when I try to do the conversion.

    I went to the site and did exactly as the 'support' said. I tried three PDF documents for conversion to Word. On clicking 'convert', the last window gives the file with .doc suffix. After I save and open it the window says, "The XML file cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents." Under "Details", it says, "Incorrect document syntax".
    Please guide me further.
    Thanks

  • How convert table to text in Numbers 3.5.

    Is it possible to convert a table to text in Numbers 3.5. If so, how? No mention of this feature in the Aid.

    select the cells of the table, copy
    create a new text item by inserting from the tool bar:
    double click the text item so you see the "I" beam cursor, paste
    Will look like this after paste:
    you can also paste directly into an email or a text document (maybe a new Text Edit document)

  • Problem with pasting table into text file as text. 09 is different from 08?

    Okay, here's what I'm doing. I've got a table in Numbers which I want to make into a table on a web page. Here's what used to work with Numbers '08 and OS 10.5:
    Select cells. Copy.
    Open TextEdit.
    Paste and Match Style.
    Make Plain Text
    Save As (filename)
    Open PageSpinner
    Go to Table Assistant and Insert File (filename)
    Now I have a new computer, running 10.6 and Numbers '09. And when I insert the file as a table into PageSpinner, I've got a special character littered throughout. Specifically, line breaks seem to be replaced with delete characters (the right-pointing pentagon with an x in it).
    So what has changed, and how can I cope?

    I remember that you were facing the problem with the below function module
    types:begin of ty_string,
          field1 type char1024,
          end of ty_string.
    data:it type table of ty_string.
    data:wa type ty_string.
    data:out type string,
    line type string,
    rest type string.
    do 100 times.
      do 1024 times.
        concatenate 'A' wa-field1 into wa-field1.
      enddo.
      append wa to it.
    enddo.
    call function 'CONVERT_TABLE_TO_STRING'
      exporting
        i_tabline_length = '1024'
      importing
        e_string         = out
      tables
        it_table         = it.
    For me the variable out holds 102400 characters.

    In template.css, you need to remove your textshadow from #navigation.<br />
    http://www.hugsnkisses.net/templates/allrounder_v1.2/css/template.css line 136, it says:<br />
    <i><pre><nowiki>#navigation</nowiki> {
    background-position:center top;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    height: 40px;
    height:auto;
    margin:auto;
    background-color: #fff;
    color: #ccc;
    <b>text-shadow: 0 1px 0 #000, 0 0 1px #000;</b>
    }</pre></i>
    that won't do anything unless you also remove it from index.php line 150.<br />
    <pre>ul.menu_lv_dropdown {
    background:#ABBDD1 !important;
    <b>text-shadow: 0 1px 0 #fff, 0 0 2px #666;</b>

  • Importing word tables into ID

    I need to import a table from word to ID. The cols run several pages each in Word. How do I import the table so that cols break neatly within the frames?
    I've tried "help" but I couldn't make it work. I just need to know how to make the table flow.
    Thanks

    Unfortunately, table cells won't break across pages or frames in InDesign. When I had a project like this, I did a lot of prep work in Word using Convert Table to Text, and then messing around with the text formatting so I could import the content into InDesign. Instead of one text frame with a table with three columns, I'd have three separate text frames with "faked tables" made of paragraph rules and anchored "gridlines."
    Sorry, you're in for a bit of a manual slog on this one.

  • Importing word 2004 docs with tables into Pages

    I work in video production, and my clients send me shooting scrips as word documents formatted with tables. Needless to say, I was quick to discover that Pages doesn't really 'like' these documents. I can't keep asking my clients to reformat their docs as txt files for me - it's very unprofessional.
    What I've found is that all the text is there, but the tables don't 'translate' (one cell tries to fit on a whole page and the text gets 'lost' at the bottom). Is there a quick and easy way to remove the tables in Pages but keep the text?
    In Word, it's Alt+A, V, B, 0 (I've been formatting and reformatting scripts for 8 years!).
    Thanks for your help. I REALLY don't want to have to get Office - I've read so many horror stories about 2008 (especially the excel part).

    Hello,
    Have you tried: Select table, then from the Pages Menu; Format > Table > Convert Table to Text?
    It might be of some value in this situation.

  • Images in PDF file being converted into Word elements (e.g. tables and text boxes)

    A friend of mine has recently signed up to ExportPDF so that he can convert PDF format wiring diagrams into Word format.  On trying this the other day, we found that the wiring diagrams in the PDF file were being converted into elements of Word such as tables and text boxes.
    Is there any way to get the diagrams converted into pictures within the Word document so that they can be copied and pasted into other documents?  From looking at the limited settings panel to the right of the document in Reader I can't see it.

    Perhaps an application dedicated to converting PDF's to Word documents may get better results.
    Here's a free online converter I use with occasional success: http://www.pdftoword.com/

  • Converting a table back into text used to be easy in pages, not any more.  Any suggestions?

    Used to be able to convert a table that came from a windows document into text only.  Now I cannot find where to do this within the new pages.  Have they dropped this useful tool or do I need to look further?

    Gone. Unfortunately.
    Best bet is to stay with Pages '09, and send feedback to Apple.

  • How to copy paste a table structure from word document into Text Field [field format Rich Text]

    In our current implementation we have a Blank page with Text Field [field format Rich Text] on generated PDF Document.
    Once the PDF document is generated, user can copy paste content form any word/rtf document to into the Text Field.
    Pasted content retains all text formatting [Bold, Italic, Underline, Indentation] except the Table format. Text Field is removing table metadata from the content and converting it into plant text.
    Is there anyway to copy paste table structure as it is from word document into Text Field?

    Hi,
    I don't think you can! While you can paste formatted text into the rich text field, the table metadata means nothing to the textfield.

  • Exporting table data into text files

    I got a request to export the data from about 85 tables into 85 text files. I assume that they will want a header row and some delimiter character. This is a process that must run every night by a sql job.
    Obviously I want it to be flexible. Tables could be addede and removed and columns could be added and removed. There will probably be a control table that has the list of tables to export.
    Looked at bcp - but seems that it is command line only?
    SSIS package?
    What other options are there?

    Wanted to post my solution. Ended up using bcp in a PowerShell Script. I was unable to use bcp in SQL because it requires xp_cmdshell and that is not allowed at many of our client sites. So wrote a Powershell script that executes bcp. The ps script
    loops through a table that contains a row for each table/view to export along with many values and switches for the table/view export: export path, include column headers, enclose each field in double quotes, double up embedded double quotes, how to format
    dates, what to return for NULL integers - basically the stuff that is not flexible in bcp. To get this flexibility I created a SQL proc that takes these values as input and creates a view. Then the PS bcp does a SELECT on the view. Many of my tables are
    very wide and bcp has a limit of 4000/8000. Some of my SELECT statements ended up being GT 35k in length. So using a view got around this size limitation.
    Anyway, the view creation and bcp download is really fast. It can download about 4 gb of data in 20 minutes. It can download it faster the 7z can zip it.
    Below is the SQL proc to format the SELECT statement to create the view for bcp (or some other utility like SQLCMD, Invoke-SQLCMD) or SQL query by "SELECT * from v_ExportData". the proc can be used from SQL or PS, or anything that can call a SQL
    Proc and then read a SQL view.
    IF EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.objects WHERE object_id = OBJECT_ID(N'[dbo].[ExportTablesCreateView]') AND type in (N'P', N'PC'))
    DROP PROCEDURE [dbo].[ExportTablesCreateView]
    GO
    CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[ExportTablesCreateView]
    ExportTablesCreateView
    Description:
    Read in a tablename or viewname with parameters and create a view v_ExportTable of the
    data. The view will typically be read by bcp to download SQL table data to flat files.
    bcp does not have the options to include column headers, include fields in double quotes,
    format dates or use '0' for integer NULLS. Also, bcp has a limit of varhar 4000 and
    wider tables could not be directly called by bcp. So create the v_ExportTable and have
    bcp SELECT v_ExportTable instead of the original table or view.
    Parameters:
    @pTableName VARCHAR(128) - table or view to create v_ExportTable from
    @pColumnHeader INT =1 - include column headers in the first row
    @pDoubleQuoteFields INT = 1 - put double quotes " around all column values including column headers
    @pDouble_EmbeddedDoubleQuotes INT = 1 - This is usually used with @pDoubleQuoteFields INT = 1. 'ab"c"d would be 'ab""c""d.
    @pNumNULLValue VARCHAR(1) = '0' - NULL number data types will export this value instead of bcp default of ''
    @pDateTimeFormat INT = 121 - DateTime data types will use this format value
    Example:
    EXEC ExportTablesCreateView 'custname', 1, 1, 1, '0', 121
    @pTableName VARCHAR(128),
    @pColumnHeader INT = 1,
    @pDoubleQuoteFields INT = 1,

  • How can I convert table object into table record format?

    I need to write a store procedure to convert table object into table record. The stored procedure will have a table object IN and then pass the data into another stored procedure with a table record IN. Data passed in may contain more than one record in the table object. Is there any example I can take a look? Thanks.

    I'm afraid it's a bit labourious but here's an example.
    I think it's a good idea to work with SQL objects rather than PL/SQL nested tables.
