  • Is there an easy way to convert a long string into an array?

    I can convert a long string into a 1-d array by parsing and using build array, but I would like to know if there is a function to make this easier.
    For example:
    from/   aaaaaaaabbbbbbbbccccccccdddddddd         (string of ascii)
    to/       an array that is 1-d with each element having eight characters
              aaaaaaaa
              bbbbbbbb
              cccccccc
              dddddddd
    Thank you.
    Solved!

    Try something like this:
    (If you can guarantee that the string length is an integer multiple of 8, you an drop the two triangular modes in the upper left. )

  • Converting a binary string into a JPEG image in Crystal Reports 2008

    Hi Gang
    Iu2019m having problems converting a binary string into an image in Crystal Reports 2008
    I have JPEG images stored in ECC.  ECC stores the data in binary format.
    Iu2019m using the ECC function module SKWF_PHIO_CONTENT_ACCESS_GET to retrieve the data.  This function module has an export table, FILE_CONTENT_BINARY, which returns several lines of data.  Each line contains a maximum of 1,024 characters.
    When I drop the T_ FILE_CONTENT_BINARY.LINE field into my Crystal Report detail section, I wind up with a report that displays all the lines in FILE_CONTENT_BINARY table.  (in my case, 19 lines are displayed.)
    I created a formula to collect all the data into a single string.
    whileprintingrecords;
    stringvar data:= data & {SKWF_PHIO_CONTENT_ACCESS_GET.T_FILE_CONTENT_BINARY.LINE}
    I added the formula to the detail section and itu2019s doing a great job collecting the data.
    I then inserted a picture object in the report footer, opened the format editor, navigated to the u201Cpictureu201D tab, and inserted a formula for the u201Cgraphics locationu201D.
    whileprintingrecords;
    stringvar data:=data;
    data
    My clever idea turned out to be a disappointment . . . . my picture object is blank.
    Does anyone have a solution for converting a binary string into a JPEG image?

    Save the JPEG in a format CR supports. Refer to the help file for the file types.

  • Outlook 365 converting text boxes into images

    Hello,
    When sending out an email containing text boxes with text, links and images inside, people receive it as images.
    It does not matter if you created the email as HTML or Rich Text. Same behaviour both cases.
    Is there any way to avoid this issue?
    Thanks
    Ismael.

    No, various shapes and features do not translate into HTML suitable for email and will be sent as an image instead.
    Using tables instead of textboxes and shapes is the recommended way to go.

  • Creating a PDF from Word 2010 doesn't correctly convert text boxes and images

    I have Acrobat 11 and my co-workers with 9 and 10 can correctly convert Word docs with images and text boxes, but v.11 cuts off the text and doesn't convert images correctly.

    Hi Anubha,
    I tried exporting by printing through the "File" menu as well as using the ribbon menu bar in Word 2010. Results were still not good. Below is the original Word File and then what I got when I tried to export using those two methods. I've also tried running the "Repair Acrobat Installation", but that didn't help.

  • When I go back to edit the form why are my individual text boxes merging into one large text box?

    I am currently trying to create a form fillable pdf and have never had problems until yesterday.
    My individual text boxes are somehow conjoining into one large text box after I save my edits and go back to the form to make additional edits.  This has never happened before and it is messing up the entire format of the form.  Any guidance would be grealy appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Did you find a solution to your problem?  I am experiencing the same thing.  Only, the boxes will change.  One time when I go in a single word on a line will be in the same box as a word above it.  I created these text boxes in the pdf and did not import from another file.  The next time I go into the file, the word will be back in its original box and other words will be combined in boxes. The last time I went in two entire lines that were two separate boxes are not one box.  The boxes seem to merge completely randomly though the text they are enclosing are next to each other either side by side, or more frequently, above/below.  This is quite a nuisance as I am still creating my form and when I want to move words or lines, I have to copy the text box and then delete the words I do not want in each box just so I can manipulate the content into the positions I want them.

  • Converting from xsd:string into soapenc:string

    Hi.
    I was successfull in invoking an axis web service with complex type definitions.
    However, when building and deploying the process flow, I get a warning message as follows:

    My question is:
    How can I convert between xsd:string and soapenc:string types when using the "assign" activity so I don't keep getting this warning message?

    Hi Paulo,
    This warning has been fixed in recent builds. eventhough soapenc:string is different type, it extends xs:string and its simple content. the compiler shouldn't display warnings for this case.

  • Converting comma separated string into rows

    for my procedure  varchar2 is i/p paramter. i will get this i/p from java. this string value is like  'VTP,VR','VM'.
    i want to split taht string into rows  ie o/p will be
    VTR
    VR
    VM.
    how to do this.

    Hi,
    As always, the solution depends on your data, your requirements, and you Oracle version.
    Here's one way:
    -- Simulating Java input with a bind variable:
    VARIABLE  str VARCHAR2 (100)
    EXEC     :str := 'VTP,VR,VM';
    SELECT  LEVEL  AS n
    ,       REGEXP_SUBSTR ( :str
                          , '[^,]+'
                          , 1
                          , LEVEL
                          ) AS str_part
    FROM     dual
    CONNECT BY LEVEL <= 1 + REGEXP_COUNT (:str, ',')
    I'm just guessing that your original string doesn't include single-quotes after VR or before VM.  If it does, you can use TRIM to remove them from the string passed back by REGEXP_SUBSTR.

  • Converting a whole string into individual characters Can't get an answer

    Hey,
    I have searched Google for a decent amount of time now yet somehow, unlike usual, I can not get a straight answer telling me exactly how I take a string in Java and convert it into an array. I am looking for a description along with some example code, I learn best by viewing and then manipulating example code. All I want to do is say take my name Chris and convert is so each letter has its own variable in an array so that Array[1] = "C" Array[2] = "h"... and so on. Very simple, I am not sure why I can not find one simple solution as programming usually comes very easy to me. Thanks in advance...

  • Converting a string into mySQL date format

    I have a bit of code that collects data values from a bean and I want it to then insert this into a mySQL database. My string is in the format "23/12/1983", how can i put this into a date field in my database? The bit of code I have got so far looks like this...
    String month = formHandler.month + "/";
    String day = formHandler.day + "/";
    String year = formHandler.year ;
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
    sb.append(day);
    sb.append(month);
    sb.append(year);
    String myDate = sb.toString();myDate is the value that I want to go into the database

    Limo2kz,
    The key to inserting a date into a database is to convert the date string into an SQL friendly format. i.e. yyyy-MM-dd.
    One way of doing this is as follows:
    SimpleDateFormat NICE_DATE_FORMAT =
    new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy");
    SimpleDateFormat SQL_DATE_FORMAT =
    new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
    Date date = new Date();
    try {
    date = NICE_DATE_FORMAT.parse(dateString);
    } catch (ParseException pe) {
    pe.printStackTrace();
    String sqlDate = SQL_DATE_FORMAT.format(date);
    Now it is just a matter of creating the insert statement like normal, and making sure that the date string is in quotes.
    I hope that helps.

  • Convert a string into a colour: HELP please

    I have a JComboBox which gives a Color selection (String) and i want to convert the selected string into a color so that i can call:
    Private void setColor(Color color)

    }any ideas?

    I have a class similar to the one shown in the previous post. Not wishing to be redundant, I am listing the class only to show other color constants that could be used in your application.

  • Converting a binary string to a number...

    Hi guys,
    I'm trying to convert a binary string into a decimal integer. I'm not sure if LabVIEW has a VI that does that. I haven't found one yet. Basically, say I have the string '0101'. I want to convert that to the value '5'. Or say I'm using hex, I want '10101111' to be converted to 'AF'. So that's my dilemma. I'm hoping I'm not going to have to make my own VI. Thanks a lot!
    -Mike

    LabVIEW has exactly what you want even if it can be hard to find it.
    To convert a binary text string like "0101" to a decimal value can easily be done using the Scan Value function found under the String/Number conversion section. If you provide the format %b to it (not mentioned in the manual) you will get the decimal value of your binary string.
    Also, on your front panel you can change the format of your numerical indicators by right clicking on it and selecting Format & Precision. If you have a numerical indicator you can set it do display the numbers in e.g. hexadecimal form.
    However, if you want to convert a number to a hexadecimal text string you can use the Number to Hexadecimal String function also found under the String/Number conversion section.
    I
    attached a simple example, Conversions.vi, that shows how it works. I hope this helps. /Mikael
