Convert to multi-org 11.5.10.2-db is 10.2.0.4 - Giving errors Please help

Hi all,
We are in the process of Upgrade from EBS 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.1 (FA and GL modules only)
We have 10 Set of books
we are NOT multi-org enabled
we understand that we have to convert to Multi-Org for R12
Our problem is :
We did not define any Operating units till now:
1- After some analysis, we decided to create one legal entity and one operating unit FOR EACH set of book
2- So we will have 10 Set of books , 10 Legal entities and 10 Operating units
3- We should run Adadmin utility option "convert to Multiple Organization architecture"
In the document "Upgrade Guide - Release 11i to 12.1.1"
"Before running this step, you must define an operating unit and set the site–level AOL profile option MO: Operating Unit to use your new operating unit. This profile option tells adadmin what operating unit it should use when converting your existing data. If you define additional operating units, the seed data will be replicated for all operating units"
4- Which Operating unit of the 10 defined operating unites should be set in the site–level AOL profile option MO: Operating Unit ??
And what about the remaining 9 Operating units ? What about running the Adadmin utility option should we run it one time only ?

If you define more than one Operating Unit, the replicate seed data process is run for all Operating Units.
So you can set it to any operating unit and run adadmin.

Converting to Multi org

Hi All,
We have our production running on Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2 with 10g database, HRMS,payroll modules. We are planning for R12 upgrade and as a prerequisite we are analyzing about the multi org conversion. We are the medium size utility company operates on single location and time zone.
1. From the metalink document we understood that converting to multi org is mandatory for all customers(including hrms) planning to R12.
2. We would like to know the impact of converting to multi org on HRMS
3. The document 259546.1 says that there are scripts to create the lightweight operating unit and then running adadmin option would change the environment to multi org enables.
4. In our environment already hr organizations are defined and running for several years. As per the above statement do we need to run the script to create a new lightweight operating unit and run adadmin?. If so where can i find the script for creating the lightweight OU. We found the patch 5965493. But that patch is failed in our environment when executing funmodefou.sql
Can anyone please point us to a clear set of documents which explains the impact on HRMS and detail steps to convert to multi org.

Converting to Multi-Org in 11i?

In order to comply with Oracle's recent announcement that a Multi-Org setup will be required for all patches after 9/30/2002 (Metalink Doc ID 202127.1), my client is about to start the effort of converting to multi-org. Each of the client's database instances is...*gulp*...about 500GB.
Has anybody completed the conversion process in 11i using the multi-org conversion option in ADADMIN? If so, what was the approximate size of the database and how long did the program run?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Converting to Multi-Org on EBS 11.5.10.2 Linux (test server)

I am converting my EBS 11i to multi-org
I login to applmgr, then run adadmin, chosed option "Maintain Applications Database Objects menu" and then "Convert to MultiOrg".
But I got these errors :(
   FAILED: file adorgcnv.pls on worker 1 for product ad username APPLSYS.
AD Administration error:

How do I execute item no. #3 ?
I run adadmin but there is no convert option here :

and then re-test the issue.

I just wonder if this is the proper way to convert to a multi-org or he just want to put 'Y' value ?
But when I check the sample VISION setup the value of MO: Operating Unit is "Vision Operations" and not
just "YES"

How do I convert images with text that I add on to a .pdf pro document to text? Please help!

I have a couple screen shots from school lectures that I pasted onto OneNote. These screenshots have substantial amount of text I could use. I have created a big .pDF document where I have been saving my notes and text. Now - how do I convert the images I paste onto the document into text?
It automatically happened a couple times when I tried saving the document immediately after I pasted the image - when I was under "edit PDF" I was able to edit and change fonts of the text. But how do I do this at will? Is there a special button somewhere?
P.S. I already tried OCR - but this is only limited to pages without already "renderable text".

Through adadmin I try to convert multi -org, I ran the multi org option and got an error

Multi Org Access Problem in Oracle Alerts

Hi All,
I created one Alert for sending an email through Oracle Alert, after sending the mail I need to update one column in the table to indicate that alert has been sent for this particular row.
Alert is sending mail correctly but it goes to update statement it throws following error:

both the profiles MO: Security Profile, MO: Operating Unit are alredy set but still I'm getting error.
My alert's update is simple update stement on custom table, Please guide.

Multi Org conversion

Hello All,
We implemented OTL,HRMS, and iRecruitment and we are preparing to upgrade to R12. We plan to implement financials down the road so we are planning for that too. We realized that when we run the patches for multi org conversion is it creates this light weight Org Unit. Some how our OTL applications are not associated with this dummy ou and for that matter fails.
Can you convert to multi org without creating that light weight ou. Can this be created after so that you don't have to worry about the light weight OU that would not be used for financials?
I would appreciate more info and the best way to deal with this.

Hello all,
i m a newbie in oracle apps tech and want to have clarity on multi-org structure. As per my review about multi-org, oracle applications multi-organization functionality => bg -> sob -> le -> io;
business group represents an enterprise say for example ge enterprise, now i want to know if bg is confined to only an enterprise?, i mean for a single oracle application installation there will be only 1business group in any scenario, if there will be multiple business groups in what scenario they are created?

Custom code for Multi-org - Use x_all tables or views with set_client_info?

Trying to determine what is normal for custom sql and plsql within 11i. I am trying to find out what other 11i installations are using in regards to custom code. Are you using the all tables or using the views utilizing setclient_info. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Note: We have converted to multi-org and are setup as a single organization.

Using views or table are depend upon the requirement of clinets and implementation.
If one need to access multiple tables, its always good to have a view and access that... else its same to access view or table...

- If 'Convert to MultiOrg' does not appear in adadmin, then your installation is Multi-Org

How to convert clobDomain to org.w3c.dom.Document

We have store the xml data into oracle database as clobDomain.We are reading the same data from db and want to convert it into org.w3c.dom.Document type.We used the method getXMLContentNode() but its doesn't help us.See the below code.
ClobDomain pedigreeXML = (ClobDomain) pedigreeDocumentRow.getAttribute("PedigreeDocument");
DocumentBuilderFactory docBuildFactory= DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
Document containerDoc = docBuildFactory.newDocumentBuilder().newDocument();
System.out.println(containerDoc.toString()); // this sop statement printing the xml fine
Node node= pedigreeXML.getXMLContentNode(containerDoc);
System.out.println(node); // this sop statement is printing data as "oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLCDATA@1de6ded"
Please let me know can we convert clobDomain to Document type.

it would help if you give the jdev version you are working on...
I don't see a problem with the output you get from System.out.println(node); // this sop statement is printing data as "oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLCDATA@1de6ded"as it only prints you the address of the node, but not the content. Try
String str = node.getTextContent();and check if this get you the content.
