Convert Word document into HTML document
Hello,
I require an idea to accomplish the conversion of a .doc (word file) to .html (HTML file) in LabVIEW.
I am working on a project in which i am having reports being generated after each test case execution.
The data after the each test is meant to be appended in the corresponding report.
I just want to convert the .doc file to .html file for only display purpose as this is a requirement.
I dont want to use any kind of converters in this.
I have to do some calculations and modifications in the report before saving it, that's why i am thinking in this way as i had come to know that this is possible in LabVIEW.
Can someone help me in this regard.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi,
Can i do this programatically using LabVIEW VI's.
As noted, you need to access the Microsoft Word ActiveX server using the LabVIEW ActiveX functions. There are several examples that ship with LabVIEW (Help -> Find Examples) on how to use ActiveX. You can also search the NI site.

I am trying to convert a PDF into a document that can be edited - it's a client feedback form. I am using Adobe forms Central and it's saying that it can't use my document.
Hi Michelle ,
We are extremely sorry that you have had a bad experience with Adobe .
As far as your issue is concerned ,Acrobat generally prompts for internet connection as it is required to activate the product before you could use it comfortably .Once the product is activated or licensed you would be able to use the software offline .
This could be the possible reason you are experiencing this .Please check if you have done so and still facing this .And if you have not ,you need to license/activate your product by typing in your credentials ,i.e Adobe ID and password .
You could also refer the following link to get updated about the activation of your product .

How to convert unstructured document into structured document
I have many unstructured documents. Is it possible to convert these documents into strcutured documents? I know that structured FM uses DITA which is different from unstrcutured document. This is client's requirement so I want to get community views on this.
Yanesh,
I would approach this in 2 stages.
Understand how DITA works independently of FrameMaker first. I say this because DITA is not a straight forward 'out of the box' experience. This could be a good starting point -http://www.technicalcommunicationcenter.com/2011/04/13/technical-book-review-practical-dit a-a-nuts-and-bolts-guide-to-structured-technical-writing/
Understand how FrameMaker works with DITA. FrameMaker has it's own way of how you author DITA based content. You might want to look at tools such as DITA FMx - http://www.leximation.com/dita-fmx/, which claims to make DITA authoring easier with FrameMaker.
If you are initially just producing PDF from your DITA content, then FrameMaker is probably the best way of getting the results you want, as FrameMaker templates work the same with structured content, as they do with unstructured.
Good luck

or else
suggest me easiest way to achive this problem...Easiest way....
open up the document in Word, click on "Save as" and select "Web Page".
There are 3rd party APIs to read Word docs... but I don't know if they then allow you to export to HTML.
You may have to write that yourself.

I just installed Adobe XI Pro through the download assistant, it looks the installation went well, but when I tried to convert word files into PDF (tried many times), it failed. Anyone has the same problems, any solutions?
Please reply with more information - what your operating system is, do you have Office installed, and what exactly is happening. Is there an error message, does the application crash, and from where are you starting the conversion (using Word and PDFMaker, using Acrobat's Create button, or batch processing).

Anyone know a tool to convert PLSQL comments into HTML/other formats?
Hi - does anyone know if there's a tool out there to convert PLSQL comments into HTML or other formats like you can do in Java? Thanks in advance - Jon
This is only useful if you're using PL/SQL Developer. It has a free plugin called plsqldoc which will generate html pages that are similar to Javadoc pages.
check here for more information
http://www.allroundautomations.nl/plsqldevplugins.html
As an aside , if you haven't already, you may want to devise a way of auto generating your HTML when a change is made or by running a regular batch job. This will ensure that your docs are in sync with the code. Documentation is only valuable if it is kept up to date.
There is nothing worse than looking at the html docs for a package only to realise the docs are several versions behind the code. -

Problem converting word doc into pdf
I've just installed adobe acrobat 6.0 onto my laptop
. Whenever I try to create a pdf file from a word doc it says there is a problem and will have to run in repair mode/ It then goes through the 'retrieving required info' instructs to restart the computer. Once Ihave done that though and retry, it does exactly the same thing. There is an easy and effective way to convert word to PDF through Microsoft word 2007. You can download Microsoft Save As PDF add-in from Microsoft.com.
Also a newly release one Office 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2) has built-in the add-in.
1. Start Microsoft Word 2007
2. Open a .DOC document and edit
3. Select from main menu “Office button”->”Save As”
4. Select “adobe PDF”.
More you can refer this column of PDF Converter, which includes some tutorials about converting PDF to other files.
Glad that you got it working.
