When I used to do tabs I would set up a page that was as wide as the tab sheet including the tab, then add text frames in each tab position.

    Hi Michelle ,
We are extremely sorry that you have had a bad experience with Adobe .
As far as your issue is concerned ,Acrobat generally prompts for internet connection as it is required to activate the product before you could use it comfortably .Once the product is activated or licensed you would be able to use the software offline .
This could be the possible reason you are experiencing this .Please check if you have done so and still facing this .And if you have not ,you need to license/activate your product by typing in your credentials ,i.e Adobe ID and password .
You could also refer the following link to get updated about the activation of your product .

  • Photosmart C6180 prints too many copies of PDFs and HTML-documents

    Hi,
My Photosmart C6180 prints multiple copies of documents even if I haven't asked for it. This seems to only apply to PDFs and HTML-documents, I haven't seen it happen with Word/Excel. It's not consistent, it happens most of the time but now always for these documents. When I look at the console, when it has started printing I see shortly the status "Printing - Restarting". That's probably when it starts the 2nd copy. Sometimes it stops by itself, other times it seems to be looping and I have to turn the printer off and delete the document from the queue.
HP solution center SW is updated, I run Vista with latest service packs on a Thinkpad T400s.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

My C6180 printed multiple copies of any document from my Vista OS laptop ( wireless connection ), but not from my
XP OS desktop ( USB connection), even though I selected 1 copy on the print menu. Unchecking "Enable bidirectional support" in the Properties / Ports dialog box solved the problem. Hope this helps someone too.

  • What version of Acrobat is needed to split pages of a PDF into separate documents? Standard or Pro?

Need to be able to split PDFs into separate files dependent of what page. Can standard do this? Or will i need Pro?

    Hi asfkmg,
Both Acrobat Standard and Pro will allow you to split a PDF into separate documents. Here's a great video that shows you how: https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-to-break-a-pdf-into-parts

  • How do I combine several pdfs into one document?

I just switched to Yosemite, and now I cannot figure out how to combine several pdfs into one document. I rarely need to do this, so I looked at past tutorials, but nothing seems to work. Help!

I don't understand - I've just tried it and it worked. I had 2 multi-page pdfs, opened both in Preview, followed my earlier post and saved the new pdf. The saved file is multi-page

  • Inserting jpegs into word2010 documents

I have just been through a long seige with Microsoft TS (which cost me 39 bucks) about the fact that I cannot import  images into a word 2010 document. They comes in as  black rectangles.  I can import images from my HP scanner, from the WEB, from screenshots, etc, but any images that was formatted in Lightroom or Nikon NX come in as a black rectangles.  That includes JPG and TIFF.  The only suggestion I could get from Microsoft was that I should be using software other than Adobe.   The other weird thing is that word2010 works properly on my laptop.  Both machines are Dell W7, 64bit.

I normally import images from NEF to DNG to a Lightroom catalog on my photoarchive on an external HD.  Once I have finished processing and organizing them, I export selected images as JPG at appropriate sizes to appropriate directories on the internal HD on my computer.   I no longer do many newsletter publication type things, but I just tried one in which I typed a body of text with word2010 (just installed, and working fine for most other things).  However, when I tried to use Word's "insert>picture" capability, referenced to the appropriate JPG image file on the HD, the low resolution JPG images come in as black rectangles, no matter what the image size.  I fought it for several days--once in a while the image would come in properly, and immediately turn black.  The extra weird thing is that Word2010 works fine on my laptop.  I can import the same JPG images over my (wired) network from my desktop to the document on the laptop, no problem, but if I then send the resulting properly-formatted document from the laptop back to the desktop, the images will turn black when they hit the desktop.  The only way I can do the illustrated newsletter thingy is to write it to Acrobat and send it to the desktop for printing, or just print it from the laptop.   Both desktop and laptop are running W7ultimate and are 64 bit machines.  As I think I mentioned in the post, everything works fine with jpgs that from screenshots or JPEG scans from my HP multifunction printer, so long as the scan was never imported to a Lightroom catalog, OR Nikon NX.

Have you exported the image from Lightroom to a JPG file on your hard disk?
Exactly what steps do you follow to get the image out of LR and into Word?

  • Firefox (15) inserts a "Firefox HTML document" in Windows Explorer File New menu. It breaks my works patterns (Alt FWF stops working). Need to disable.

I often use the shortcut Alt FWF to create new directories on Windows.
When FF 15 is set as default it alters the File New menu from Windows Explorer.
It inserts a "Firefox HTML document" item.
This item seems to sabotage the above key combination. It intercepts the last F.
In addition I object to the naming which is plain wrong, for me.
I have deleted the registry key that inserts this thing. Unfortunately it re-appears.
I want to stop this behaviour.
How do I kill this. (Other than by making another browser the default.)

I'm not seeing that on Windows 7 (which I'm sure is no consolation to you).
Since Folder usually is the top item on the new items menu, can you use
    <br>Alt+f w Enter
until someone comes up with <s>a better workaround</s> an actual solution?

  • How to convert pdf into html?

    Hi,
I am an amateur ASP developer. I want to create a pdf viewer like http://www.scribd.com. But I want to convert PDF into HTML on the server and then display it to the client. I want to convert into HTML so that it can be browsed from mobile devices also. And I need the text to be searched client side.
Can anyone help me? Give me any direction or hint on how to achieve this or where to start? Have anyone done this before?

    Irosenth,
Thank you very much for your kind reply.
Well, can you give me a clue from where to start? Is there any server component? or can ASP.NET help? Or from where I can get some information on converting PDF into html on server side?
Look, everybody was a starter sometime. I want to do this.

  • Merge option during assembly of PDF from html documents.

    Hello,
Can LiveCycle create a combined PDF document by converting
HTML documents to PDF with the option of merging them (eliminate whitespace) during ddx assembly.
Here is a simple case. Combine three html documents such as
    html-1: contains text ONE
    html-2: contains text TWO
    html-3: contains text THREE
The default assembled document appears to have three pages with each having a its single word text of content. However, a combined document with one page containing the merged text is desired in some cases.
Does LiveCycle handle this case. Thanks for any insight.
    Jesse

Assembler will only deal with PDFs. PDF/G will take non PDF content and make PDF out of it. So in your case you would use PDF/G to change the HTML to PDF then use Assembler to manipulte the three docs into a single doc.
    Hope that helps

  • Inserting PDFs into existing PDFs using Preview

Previous to the 10.6.6 update I was able to insert a PDF document into an existing PDF document by dragging the new PDF into the sidebar within Preview.
Now when I try this, instead of adding the document, it opens the PDF I have just dragged in, in the same window.
Is this a setting that I have missed somewhere? Have check document security permissions, preferences etc...
    Thanks

Preview (in Snow Leopard) can display more than one multi-page PDF in one window. If you drag pages from document 2 into the space at the end of the sidebar of document 1, they will remain as separate documents. Drag them on top of the pages of document 1 in the sidebar. Document 1 will highlight and you can position the pages as desired. It is easier to do it than to explain it.

  • Insert SWF into new document

I want ot convert a SWF created in Captivate into an avi. It
seems that the simplest way is to import it into a Flash doc and
export as an avi, but I don't know Flash well. I wish I had a day
to get up to speed on it, but for now, quick, easy instructions are
    what I need. I don't need any controls. I don't have a skin. It's
essentially an animated card with music that we're sending out to
some of our trainers to thank them for their help.
    Thanks for any help!!

Wow, that's some of the more optimistic code I've seen in a while.
A Word document is a binary file, you cannot simply insert text into the middle of a binary file and expect it to work, that's not how they work unfortunately. You might be able to read an RTF file in, but I don't think they support images.
Could you use a plain text file as the source and a PDF as the output? That'd be easy. Or even just use CFDocument to create a PDF with the images, then print that. Does it actually need to be Word?

  • Insert pdf into pages

    Hey,
I was just wondering whether is was possible to insert PDF's into a Pages document. In my case I have a Project document and I want to include weekly reports which are stored as PDF's.
If I do: Insert > Choose > ...(*) I only seem to be inserting the first page of the PDF
It might be that it's not possible, but it wouldn't seem an unreasonable feature for Pages.
*(may be called slightly different, im using a Dutch language version of Pages '09)

It allow us to select a rectangular area like the one which is drawn in my late screenshot.
Here you may see the menu "Tools" which offer the menu items whose shortcuts are cmd 1, cmd 2, cmd 3.
As I already wrote, cmd 3 allow us to select a rectangular area.
If you trigger cmd 2 you may trigger text as you may see below.
At least on my machine, Preview defaults to the mode activated by cmd 2.
