Converter for String data

Hello.
Java Studio Creator 2 update 1.
I'm trying to create Converter that converts Table data column of String type to other string representation. For example convert through ResourceBunde.
But I've found that none of converters won't be used when source data is "instanceof String"!
Is it made intentionally?

Hi, i found that standard faces components can convert Strings, rave components no.
Try with outputText/Datatable components to see it.

    The control do not allow user to put -1 -2 -3 ... or 10 11 ... or decimal place.
    This number will be further converted into string as a name of a folder to be created.

    First, right click and select 'Representation and change to integer (i.e. U8), and then right click and select Data Entry. Uncheck the 'Use default limits' and enter the range you want.
    If you noticed, everything is accomplished by right clicking. You should be familiar with all of the right click options. Have you done any of the tutorials?

    Look for something more consistent. A pattern.As I said earlier, it depends if he wants an object or a primitive.

  • Convert/Cast string data type from file to DT_GUID into table

    Hi to all
    is there anyone who help me please?!?
    I'm not able to resolve the following problem.
    I have a .csv file with a string field A and its values are GUID.
    I must export this .csv file into SQL Server Table which have a uniqueidentifier (GUID) field B.
    I must map string field A to GUID field B of table.
    But I get an error like this: "Error at Data Flow Task [Derived Column [xxx]]: Error code 0x800401F3 occurred attempting to convert from data type DT_WSTR to data type DT_GUID.".
    I read other posts like this in this forum and i also tried the solution suggested in those posts.
    The proposed solution had suggested of insert in the expression field of "Derived Column" Transformation this expression (DT_GUID) ("{" + [YourGuid] + "}") in place of (DT_GUID) [YourGuid].
    But i get always the same error.
    is there anyone who help me please to resolve this issue?!?

    The derived column expression should work if the yourGuid column contains a real guid.
    Does the source looks something like: 25892e17-80f6-415f-9c65-7395632f0223
    And are all rows filled with a correct value or are there also empty strings or null values?

    You are not reading temperature, you are reading a binary file. You seem to be assuming string format but do you really know? No one here can tell since you did not attach the file If it is you would need to use one of the string conversion functions. And please, get rid of the Data local variable. You are already usin shift registers. Do the same with the data from the file.

  • Date Formatting, Converting from String to Timestamp

    I am trying to convert a string date to timestamp.
    I have tried a couple of different ways to arrive at the end result.
    I am basically trying to convert a date in the "dd-MM-yyyy" format to a timestamp.
    If I use the following code, I get a date like this "18-May-2004 12:00:00 AM".
    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("dd-MM-yyyy);
    Date dContractDate = sdf.parse("18-05-2004");
    long dateInMilli = dContractDate.getTime();
    bHelp.bcontractdate = new Timestamp(dateInMilli);
    How can I make this code display the current time not midnight or some defaulted value?
    Thanks.

    I think a clever person would reuse their Date.classObject and call Date.setTime() as opposed to always
    rolling out a new Date()
    Not really a question of cleverness. Your code wins
    nothing. Objects are not magically created and garbage collected in the ether.
    The cost of creating a Date is nothing
    compared to the cost of a format() call. True, but not valid a valid statement pertaining to the issue which is
    "does always rolling dates suffer a performance hit?"
    Plus you lost clarity Maybe you loose track of your code if you don't make new Objects all the time,
    but I have never suffered from this.
    Why do you think Sun provided the setDate() method?
    and thread-safety.I have only had Thread issues when I didn't program them properly.
    Luckilly I always program the correctly ;) (Touch wood)
    The facts as I seem are thus:
    Rolling new dates on a 1.83 GHZ PC incurrs on average
    a 19% penalty. Here is the proof.
    Save this program and save it as DateTest.java
    If you don't want to waste the time here are the results of running it
    through the default 10 iterations.
    Running 10 iterations.

  • LV 8.5.X: Converting String Data/Time to Timestamp

    Hello again,
    is there really no convenient way to convert a String Data/Time to an
    Timestamp?
    Thanks and greetings
    Udo

    You can use the Scan from String function:
    Look at the bottom for an example. If you can't get the format string right, you can configure a timestamp control/indicator to what you need and then use the properties (right click) then select Advanced at the bottom to get the string you need.
    Now is the right time to use %^<%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%S%3uZ>T
    If you don't hate time zones, you're not a real programmer.

  • String date to integer

    Need help.
    Does anybody know how to convert a string date to int..
    format of the date is like this(dd-mm-yyyy) example ->15-Aug-1993.
    I would like to convert the corresponding month to int...
    like for Jan=1, Feb=2,Mar=3...Aug=8...Dec=12...
    is there any method in java which supports this kind of conversion?
    sample codes would be of great help.
    Thanks in advance.

    If your intention is to convert "15-Aug-1993" into "15-8-1993", ie a string->string conversion, use a SimpleDateFormat to parse the first string into a Date. And then use another one to format the date into the appropriate format.
    If you want to obtain an integer value from the string according to the scheme you presented, you could parse it as above then use the getMonth() mehod of the Date class. Note: the returned value is zero based (January is zero, not one) and the method is deprecated.
    It's better to use the Calendar class:
    * Use SimpleDateFormat to obtain a Date (ie parse the string)
    * create a Calendar instance and set its time to the date
    * use the get() method of Calendar to obtain the month
    The Calendar class defines a number of int values: Calendar.JANUARY, Calendar.FEBUARY etc. Mostly you use these values without knowing or caring what int values they have.

    In your post you ask how to convert a string value to a date.  The value returned from the Get-AdUser is already a date.  It does not need to be converted.
    Bill has sshown one way to convert a date to a string and there are other methods.  You need to clarify your question.
    If you are really trying ot convert strings to dates then you can start with this:
    [datetime]'01/21/1965 13:33:23'
    Most date strings aer autodetected by the class.

  • Converting hexadecimal XML data to a string

    Hello!
    Until now I generated XML data with the FM 'SDIXML_DOM_TO_XML'.
    After that I did a loop over the xml_as_table in which I was casting each line of that table to a string.

  • Problem in converting the String to Date with time zone GMT

    Hi,
    When I tried to convert the string 12/05/2009 to Date, the time zone is set to BST.On the other hand, for the date 12/12/2009, the time zone is set to GMT. What should I do to get the time zone as GMT all the time.?
    SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy");
    String dateString = "12/05/2009";
    System.out.println(myDate.toString());

    I think you are all missing the point. java.util.Date objects always alway always store the date as the number of milliseconds since 1/1/1970 UTC so the only TimeZone they have its the implicit UTC. When you use the Date.toString() method the toString() method gets the default time zone from your environment and formats the data accordingly. This means that the same Date object will, by default, produce a different result for France and Australia and the US.
    So, if you have the date "12/5/2009" as a String then to convert it to a java.util.Date you must specify what TimeZone is implied. If it is your system time zone then you can just create a SimpleDateFormat object with the correct format and then use the parse() method to create the java.util.Date object and this will automatically be converted to UTC. If the date String represents some other time zone then you must explicitly set the time zone of the SimpleDateFormat object before parsing the string.
    The same approach applies when converting a java.util.Date object to a String. If you want anything other than your system time zone then you must explicitly tell the SimpleDateFormat what time zone you want the result formatted for.
