Using RDC we could get/set the group using the following:

How do I get the group associated with a given area using RAS? i.e. Group Header 1

I don't know if that is possible or not. You can get the group information, but I don't know if you can tie that grouping to a specific section.
You could take a look at the report modification samples available [here|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/NETRASSDK+Samples#NETRASSDKSamples-ReportModification]. They might be helpful in finding a way to do what you want.

Windows 2008 R2, converting to dynamic disk questions

Hello,
   I have a Windows 2008 R2 server and I want to convert the drive into a dynamic disk for mirroring. The disk currently is divided into two partitions. The C: partition which is System,Boot, Page File, etc. and the D: partition which
is data. The questions I have are:
    Can a disk with multiple partitions be created without data loss or anything?
    I know you have to reboot, but how long does it usually take to do the reboot/conversion before the server is back up?
    I want to mirror the drive to a 2nd identical disk in the server, and am planning to use Computer Management. Do I have to partition the second drive first, or will the process do it automatically?
    The server is a dedicated server that is provided by a hosting company, so I would be doing it through Remote Desktop. Can it be done that way?

Hi,
You can convert the drive into a dynamic disk within both local logon session and remote desktop session. The system requires reboot twice to make the conversion take into effect. You do not have to partition the second drive.

Converting Photos to HD Question?

I do not do much video editing so I'm not sure which would be the best way to do this. I am trying to make a HD DVD of about 200ish photos from the Masters. They are of course pics so it would be a slide show. I have Toast 7 and it has an app that came with it, and there is iMovie HD that came with OS X. What would be the easiest way to take the photos that are on my harddrive and convert them to high def and them burn them? I was doing pretty good with the app that came with Toast but it froze up the whole system when I was previewing the movie.
I did have the settings on high def and that is the first time I have heard both of the fans come on since I've had my MBP. Sorry for the stupid question, but I have never done this before.

Wanting to make it "HighDef" is impossible, because there are no burners for HD-DVD or Blu-Ray (the two competing formats for TRUE hd content.)
However, you CAN make your video 16:9 instead of 4:3 for the aspect ratio. That will make your video fit the widescreen format of an HDTV. I think that's what you have in mind.
Again, the way I do it is using Photo to Movie. Click on File, Make Movie. Then click Quicktime at the top. In the Movie Format dropbox, pick Custom. Then click Video... Choose Best for the quality, then pick 16:9 for the aspect ratio.
I saw in the comments above that you want to use software that came with your mac. Great. Here's how you do it in iPhoto. Select the pictures you want to make into a photo montage, then click Slideshow at the bottom.
In the slideshow, click the Settings button. Under the dropdown box for Slideshow Format, choose 16:9 Widescreen. That will fill the whole screen on an HDTV. Change the duration to somewhere between 6-8 seconds, depending on your preferences. Click OK.
the checkbox next to Ken Burns Effect, click end and enlarge it a little using the slider in the lower righthand corner. Now click preview. You'll see a little zoom effect. If you want it to zoom out, make the start bigger than the end. You can also choose where the picture starts and stops by clicking on it and dragging it around. Pretty cool! When you have the first picture the way you want it, click the right arrown in the bottom righthand corner of the screen and do it for the next one. And so on, and so on, ad nauseum.
Click on the music setting to select the music. I like to set up a playlist in iTunes that contains the songs I want to use. I then click the Settings button and say Fit Slideshow to Music. It will automatically adjust the length of each picture so that the pictures overlay the songs perfectly. If I have 12 min of music (three 4-minute songs) that's about perfect for 40-50 pictures.
When you're all ready, click the Play button and watch it. Fix anything you don't like.
Now when you're REALLY ready, click the Share menu up top, then pick Export to iDVD. Pick a theme in iDVD, burn it, and enjoy! This is obviously brief, but I figured you could get what I didn't cover here from the help files.

1. I convereted a .avi file to .mp4 and I still cannot open the file in iMovie, is it because i converted the file? What can I do about this?
2. Can I rotate a video clip using iMovie? I can't seem to find any software to do this, any help would be appreciated.

IPhoto Albums converted to Photos Albums Question

Still confused about Albums after conversion in Photos. If there is a logical explanation, please share,
I see all my Albums from iPhoto including the Events folder in Photos, but the most recent Album created in iPhoto now has 654 items vs the Album in iPhoto that has 489. It seems all/most of the pictures from the related Events were sorted into this Photos Album although they are also showing in Events.
The Album version saved as a Slideshow in iPhoto is exactly the same as in iPhoto though.
Does anyone know what could be going on here?

I went into the photo section and backed up all of the photos by coping them to the EHD. My question is that I deleted the photos I no longer wanted in iphoto because they are now on the EHD.
The key to answering is how did you "back up all of the photos" - did you drag the iPhoto library to the EHD or exactly how did you copy all of the photos?
If I were to back up again the same way, wouldn't I lose the photos that I deleted because it would copy over the iphoto library?

If you copied the library by dragging it then you would need to use a new name for each new copy

Btrfs converting from ext4 - some questions

I'm thinking of switching to Btrfs.
a) I read the wikis about the converting tool.
problem is, I want to make of two ext4 partitions one Brtfs partition with them as subvolumes to make use o dynamically expanding storage

Hello, One thing you may want to consider is how to view all your years of documents from your PC. Apple offers iWork and uses apps Pages (word processing) and Numbers (spreadsheet), and Keynote (presentations).
You can open your Office docs with iWork but for me, I found iWork difficult to use.
There is also Open Office (openoffice.org). I do not have much experience with this but have used it a few times to open Word docs. I haven't used it to create any docs though...
Finally there is Office for Mac. I've just recently purchased this and there are some differences from MS Office...I'm still finding them so can't give a lot of detail here..
I switched back to Mac in 06 and have been very happy. You may have already done this but go into an Apple store and play around with one. This will help you understand where to move your PC files. Or as mentioned, the Apple store will do this for you.
Then there is this forum. Lots of friendly and knowledgeable people here.

Batch converter recommendations/ Archos conversion question

Currently I'm using iSkysofts Video converter to convert videos (from Cannon HD handheld and Archos 605) so that all our data is in the same format. Anyone have any other batch converter recommendations? I like the Skysoft, but looking for something 'better' for our newly purchased iMac.
Also, we are using the Archos 605 to capture some data from a TV (people playing the game Rock Band), but when we go to convert, the audio is never in sych after it's converted. Sounds to me like a sample rate problem, but i've done everything to try and combat the issue and to no avail. I've contacted Archos as well, but again, nothing. I just wanted to see if any of you out there have experience with the Archos.

MS Outlook 2010 Add in Create pdf - does not capture pictures shows as question marks

In MS Outlook 2010 the add in of Adobe PDF.
When used to create a pdf it does not print any pictures or logos in the email in Outlook. Adobe converts it into blue question marks.
This problem developed over time as it was working fine before.............please suggest..........other than a re-installation..........someone who has had this problem and worked out a solution........(not for the points only!)- please an answer, a solution or state the problem if you have experienced something similar.

Glad it worked for you. The reason to turn it on is primarily because of Security concerns. Spammers at times include a referece to a unique image when then send you an email. The idea is that if you download that image, they know that the email address is valid.
At times, this such spam also might also include inappropriate content.
If you are careful in not converting spam email, you can leave it on.

Principle question to RFC

I have a basic question to RFC execution. Maybe somebody can give me a good hint.
Assume, we have an SAP system whose application servers are all located in Hamburg.
Furthermore there are users all over Europe, using SAPGUI.
Close to the users there are content servers to store documents and to provide fast access.
Assume that there is a 3rd party product which can convert any document into a pdf format. The functionality is located on different servers which are located close to the content servers.
There should be a background process on the SAP application server which calls an RFC on the pdf Convert Server and retrieves a document from the content server to get it converted.
Now the question: will the document be transferred to the application server to Hamburg first and from there to the pdf Convert Server? WIll the result (the pdf) also be sent to Hamburg first before it can be stored in a local content server?
Or is RFC itself so 'intelligent' to avoid these unnecessary data transfers?
I try to ask the question in general. Hopefully somebody understands the problem.

SAP RFC is 'only' a mechanism to perform remote function invoke. Thus it makes some definition on server and client side and defines a transfer protocol.
SAP RFC itself does not define, which partners in your scenario are communicating as client or server. It is the task of the architect of your solution to define the process (of course also with respect to performance and communication overhead)

The whole thing depends on the ability of your server to certain functions.
If your Convert server is able to access docs on the content server directly by himself without ABAP "help", it can work like:
SAP AppServer -> RFC -> Convert Server <- some communication protocol -> Content Server
and will not require data transfer over Hamburg.
If Convert Server and Content server cooperate only by help of SAP ABAP, it would look like
SAP AppServer -> RFC -> Convert Server -> RFC -> SAP AppServer -> RFC -> Content Server and the whole call stack back.
Or is RFC itself so 'intelligent' to avoid these unnecessary data transfers?
RFC can only control, what is in his scope. That is the communication from a sender to a receiver. RFC itself cannot optimize the calls of a scenario 3 acting parties.

our company has order two WLC 5508 and want to deploy as HA mode.
one is air5508-12-k9, another is air5508-HA-k9.
however, due to proper installation, someone has installed license into HA model, right now, two WLCs are both primary.
When I wanted to convert WLC back to HA by using"config redundancy secondary" command, it displays I need minimal AP licenses to convert it.
My question is
1. is there any way to identify this model is HA or not HA model, I've checked WLC's label and inventory and PID, both are AIR5508-K9. it's not clear which is HA.
2. if order is correct, is there possible to convert WLC to HA mode without AP license (50) ? I've reset config to factory default, but no use.

If you bought this part number :AIR-CT5508-HA-K9 - Cisco 5508 Series Wireless Controller for High Availability, means you have HA WLC.
AIR5508-K9 - It means that it just a normal model with AP license.

There is no way to convert t HA mode without 50 AP license.

Quality of JPEG when being converted by Folder Actions (Image Events)

I take a lot screenshots with Command + Shift + 3/4. They are in PNG and I love them. Yet, I need to send them via email sometimes.
I convert them to JPEG using Preview, but it is time-consuming when especially I have hundreds of them.
I have just learnt that it is possible to do convert in batch using Folder Actions. However, I meet few very serious problems.
1. In Preview, I could choose the quality of JPEG before converting. But, there is no such option in Folder Actions. I even searched online to try to modify the script and it seems that nobody cares about the quality of converted JPEG.
My question: What is the quality of JPEG converted? And, is it possible to modify it?
2. Since I do not know the quality of conversion using Folder Actions, I tried different qualities using Preview and match the outputs with those using Folder Actions. I got no result. As Preview is using Core Image as the processing architecture.
My question: What is the image processing architecture adopted by Image Events?
3. If the quality is unchangeable, can anyone teach me how to write a new script to do the conversion using Preview?
I really hope Mac OS gurus could explain these to me and possibly solve my problems. I am interested to learn the AppleScript part to modify it.

3 double and time questions

I have 3 questions regarding the double type an time
1. What is the maximum number of decimal places a double value can hold?
2. I have a time string as follows 01:30:21:19F30 which means 1hr 30 mins 21 seconds and 19/30 seconds. I wish to convert this to seconds (of type double)?
3. I then wish to convert the result from question 2 (i.e. the seconds) to the following format hh:mm:ss.s

double value can hold?As another poster alluded to, that depends on the scale. The over decimal precision is somewhere in the neighborhood of maybe 15-20 digits. This is because double is 64 base-2 digits (bits) and log base-10 of 2 is 3 plus change, and some of the bits are used to hold scale. If your scale is around 1, then most or all of those digits will be after the decimal point. If your scale is around a million, then six of those digits will be before the decimal point. If you're in the scale of 10^20, none of those digits will lie to the right of the decimal point.
Also note that even if you're around the scale of 1, that doesn't mean that every number can be represented exactly. For example 0.1 in base-10 is a repeated decimal in base-2, just as you can't represent 1/3 exactly in base-10.

Creative Vision 60GB Question for mov

I've only had my Vision for 3 days and syncing music as we speak........around 800 songs and hour at the moment.
My question is what format people use to move a DVD onto the unit.
I use IMTOO Platinum V4 to move my DVD to WMV and then have Creative Video Converter to its thing.
It took over 75 minutes to convert a movie.
QUESTIONS:
What formats are people using?
What software are you using?
How long does it take?
I have the following software:
DVD Shrink
Nero Ultra V6
DVD Fab Express
IMTOO Platinum V6
What is the best format to use so its compatible with ZVM?
Cannot I simply drag and drop the files into the folders?

I just tried copying another movie into my ZVM using the iri'verter but it too took around an hour (was a shorter film then the first)......
Ok, seems that this is the length of time then it takes to convert a DVD across to the Zen standard.........no problemo....
