Converting string to image

hi all
i m facing a problem while converting a string in to an image.
Here is my code......
String s=new String(" Report ");
byte []raw=s.getBytes();
Image image = Image.createImage(raw, 0, raw.length);
but it is not creating an image....
but if we use the returning byte[] of the getSnapshot() method then it will create an image......why this happens...
how can i covert my string into an image???????plz help
ritwik

I need to convert a string to an image, I went throuth the topics in Sun forums but it's still not crear!!!
Please give a sample code to solve the simple task:
convert the string to an image (no applet) off-screen so that this image can be downloaded later !
I try to do this (as advised by some one on this forum)
BufferedImage bi = new BufferedImage(100, 100, 1);
Graphics2D g = bi.createGraphics();
g.drawString("test", 80, 80);
ImageWriter iw = ImageIO.getImageWriter(imageReader R);
iw.setOutput(new FileImageOutputStream(File outputFile));
iw.write(bi);
but only first row works , the rest couses exeptions!!!

    I wanto to convert a Tif image to png and show this in my web page but i dont want to save the png iamge in my server.
    Actualy i do that:
    byte[] bytes = imagenData;

                    String[] CdcNms = ImageCodec.getDecoderNames(tiffStrm);

    //                 Check the number of pages
                    int IFDs = tifDecoder.getNumPages();
    //                 Get the first page
                    RenderedImage ren = tifDecoder.decodeAsRenderedImage(1);

              String out = "temp.png";
              try {
                   //      Create the PNG file
                   PNGEncodeParam pngParm = PNGEncodeParam.getDefaultEncodeParam(tifImage);
                   JAI.create("filestore", tifImage, out, "PNG", pngParm);
                   //Read the file into a byte array
                   File f = new File(out);
                   FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream(f);
                   bytes = new byte[(int) f.length()];
                   in.read(bytes);
                   in.close();
                   return bytes;
              catch(Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace ();
                   throw(e);
         }But this code save de image in the server; its posible do it without save.

    Numbers the iWorks program? Not sure you can convert it to that or just a list of numbers. Never heard of anyone that would even want to convert an Image file, Photo, to any other format. Other then another image format like JPG, PNG or a PSD Photoshop file.

  • Problem in converting text to image.

    Hi I am trying to convert a text to image. The code for the same is pasted below. The problem is how do I change the background color. No matter what color I give with Graphics2D object, the background is always black. I want a white background.
    public class TextToImg1
    public static void main(String args[])
    try
    int width = 400;
    int height = 400;
    BufferedImage bimage = new BufferedImage(width, height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Graphics2D g2D = bimage.createGraphics();
    g2D.drawString("This is the sample page to convert text to image.",100,100);
    g2D.setBackground(Color.WHITE);
    g2D.setColor(Color.WHITE);
    File f = new File ("anImage.jpg");
    ImageIO.write (bimage, "jpeg", f);
    catch(Exception exception)
    System.err.println(exception.getMessage());
    }

    Probably because you didn't draw the background. Use the fillRect(...) method to paint the background using the color your want.

    The following code converts an cmyk jpeg image into an rgb jpeg image.
    The only problem if this code is that it loads the whole image in memory and thus you'll need a lot of RAM when converting large images. For example, it take around 300 MB to convert a 3000*3800px image (this is a 5MB jpeg image when compressed on disk).

  • Need conversion mechanism for converting 24 bit image to 16 bit

    In my java project I need to convert 24 bit image to 16 bit image. I don't have any clue. Please provide me the option to implement it.
    Thanks,
    jai

    That doesn't tell me much, and I know what you're talking about. I doubt that it tells the OP anything useful whatsoever.Sorry EJP, it was a mouthful I know. Maybe this will help instead, a ColorConversionOps class to work on *32 bit > 16 bit > 32 bit colors*. To help clarify where the 16 bit color input and output goes, some of the methods return or require parameters of type short. Also take notice the bitmask for variables of type short vs the bitmasks for int. AND pay particular attention to the unsigned right bit-shifting of the most-significant-digit.
    public class ColorConversionOps
      public static short convert32_16(int rgb) {
        int a = ((rgb & 0xF0000000) >>> 16);
        int r = ((rgb & 0x00F00000) >>  12);
        int g = ((rgb & 0x0000F000) >>   8);
        int b = ((rgb & 0x000000F0) >>   4);
        return (short)( a | r | g | b);
      public static int convert16_32(short rgb) {
        int a = ((rgb & 0xF000) << 16);
        int r = ((rgb & 0x0F00) << 12);
        int g = ((rgb & 0x00F0) <<  8);
        int b = ((rgb & 0x000F) <<  4);
        return (a | r | g | b);
      public static void printRGB_32(int rgb) {
        System.out.println("a="+((rgb & 0xFF000000) >>> 24));
        System.out.println("r="+((rgb & 0x00FF0000) >>  16));
        System.out.println("g="+((rgb & 0x0000FF00) >>  8));
        System.out.println("b="+ (rgb & 0x000000FF));
        System.out.println();
      public static void printRGB_16(short rgb) {
        System.out.println("a="+((rgb & 0xF000) >>> 12));
        System.out.println("r="+((rgb & 0x0F00) >>  8));
        System.out.println("g="+((rgb & 0x00F0) >>  4));
        System.out.println("b="+ (rgb & 0x000F));
        System.out.println();
    }Now to make the conversion from 32 bit color to 16 bit color and back. NOTICE there willl be a loss of precision -- just like someone else has already said.
    public class Test
      public static void main(String[] args)
        int rgb = 0xFFFFFFFF;
        ColorConversionOps.printRGB_32(rgb);
        //a=255
        //r=255
        //g=255
        //b=255
        rgb = ColorConversionOps.convert32_16(rgb);
        ColorConversionOps.printRGB_16((short)rgb);
        //a=15
        //r=15
        //g=15
        //b=15
        rgb = ColorConversionOps.convert16_32((short)rgb);
        ColorConversionOps.printRGB_32(rgb);
        //a=240
        //r=240
        //g=240
        //b=240
    }And now we see, the reason 16bit color is so unpopular to the rest of the world, but not for us here!

    Hi,
    You need to provide an example value that's failing and the date formats in the reference data you're using. It's more than likely you don't have the correct format in your ref data.

  • Convert String to Date and Format the Date Expression in SSRS

    Hi,
    I have a parameter used to select a month and year  string that looks like:    jun-2013
    I can convert it to a date, but what I want to do is,  when a user selects a particular month-year  (let's say "jun-2013")
    I  populate one text box with the date the user selected , and (the challenge Im having is)  I want to populate a text box next to the first text box with the month-year  2 months ahead.    So if the user selects
    jun-2013   textbox A will show  jun-2013
    and textbox B will show  aug-2013..
    I have tried:
    =Format(Format(CDate(Parameters!month.Value  ),
    "MM-YYYY"  )+ 2  )   -- But this gives an error
    This returns the month in number format   like "8"    for august...
    =Format(Format(CDate(Parameters!month.Value  ),
    "MM"  )+ 2  )
    What is the proper syntax to give me the result    in this format =  "aug-2013"  ???
    Thanks in advance.

    You can convert a string that represents a date to a date object using the util.scand JavaScript method, and then format a date object to a string representation using the util.printd method. For more information, see:

    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.1251.html
    In your case, the code would be something like:
    var sDate = "2013-01-10";
    // Convert string to date
    var oDate = util.scand("yyyy-mm-dd", sDate);
    // Convert date to new string
    var sDate2 = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", oDate);
    // Set a field value
    getField("date2").value = sDate2;
    The exact code you'd use depends on where you place the script and where you're getting the original date string, but this should get you started.

  • Convert String variable value  to an Object referece type

    Hi all,
    I want to know that if there any possible way to convert String variable value to a Object reference type in java. I'll explain by example if this is not clear.
    Let's think that there is a string variable name like,
    String name="HelloWorld";
    and there is a class name same to the variable value.
    class HelloWorld
    I am passing this string variable value to a method which is going to make a object of helloworld;
    new convertobj().convert("HelloWorld");
    class convertobj{
    public void convert(String name){
    // in hert it is going to create the object of HelloWorld;
    // HelloWorld hello=new HelloWorld(); just like this.
    now i want to do this from the name variable value.( name na=new name()) like wise.
    please let me know if there any possible way to do that.
    I am just passing the name of class by string variable then i wanted to make a instance of the class which come through the variable value.
    thanx.

    Either cast the object to a HelloWorld or use the reflection API (Google it) - with the reflection API you can discover what methods are available.
    Note: if you are planning to pass in various string arguments and instantiate a class which you expect to have a certain method... you should define an interface and have all of your classes that you will call in this way implement the interface (that way you're sure the class has a method of that name). You can then just cast the object to the interface type and call the method.

    Once you have a java.util.Date you can convert it to oracle.jbo.domain.Date. (see http://www.fifkredit.com/bc4jdoc/rt/oracle/jbo/domain/Date.html)

    Why is it so difficult to convert a Raw image to a jpeg in Photoshop Elements ?! I have version 12. Once i realized to change the tick box in Camera Raw to 8 bit instead of 16 bit and Flatten image ( sometimes can flatten image if the flatten option isn't greyed out) hey presto i thought i was up and running. However after saving the photograph as a jpeg and renaming it e, after the word edit. I switched off/on my computer only for all the images i had spent time working on to have disappeared. Feeling very upset as there is no Technical Help to telephone at adobe and i don't know what to do.

    My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
