COPA Summarization Concept

Hi ,
What is use of summarizattion in COPA , If we dont give
summarization in COPA Account based will records be
  available in RSA3 .
How to create summarization level for a datasource ,
during creation of datasource or any other steps are
  there.
  Thanks & Regards

Hi Ranjith kumar,
1. What is use of summarizattion in COPA?
summarization level in Profitability Analysis (CO-PA):
A summarization level is a tool for improving performance.
Summarization levels store an original dataset in summarized form. This gives quick access to presummarized data for functions that do not need detailed information, and means that the data does not need to be summarized separately each time.
you can check this in this link

2.  If we dont give summarization in COPA Account based will records be available in RSA3 - yes
2. How to create summarization level for a datasource?
You can do this in Transaction - KCDU/KCDV or SPRO
Hope it helps.

  • Disadvantages with COPA Summarization

    Hi Experts
Pls let me know disadvantages with COPA Summarization as we are planning to use this for Reporting
    thanks
    Sneha

    Hi Sneha,
I guess you are aware that summarization levels dramatically improve the performance in reporting. The only disadvantage is that you have to maintain them i.e. at the end of the working day you have to update them on daily basis so that they reflect the current data. Also if you add or delete characteristics / value fields then you have to rebuild them.
Also they occupy space in the database.
However the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages

  • COPA Summarization.

    Hi,
Can any one explain about COPA Summarization, where it used and how we need to config and exectute transacation also.
    Thanks and regards.
    S.Sivakumar.

    Dear Sivakumar
Summarisation is done to reduce the volume of data. This helps in quick execution of reports. As you know the COPA tables has all line items and executing reports from this table takes a lot of time or even run time error. For this reason summarisation is done. In this process only the summary data is written to a table. The following links will help you in further understanding and configuring for summarisation.

  • How to "active"  copa  summarization level ????

    Hello:
I create COPA  summarization level  in R3 .When I save the level, the system generates these tables and sets the status to "active, without data".I need to fill the level with data, at which time the status changes to "active".But I don't know how to do it !
      Thanks for your help!
       lian

    Dear Consultants, Learner & Readers,
The problem with changing the status of a summarization level from "To be created" into "Active, without data" in a system that is not open for customizing can indeed be solved by execution of program RKETREGN as  it's described in attached SAP Note 52636.
    I quote from the note:
If you have created summarization levels, the tables generated  are not also transported. To create the tables in the target  system, start report RKETREGN (Summarization Levels: Generate Tables for Summarization Levels) in the target system. Enter 'KE'     for application, '01' for sub-application and 'CE1xxxx' for TABNAME (Replace xxxx with your operating concern). If the program does not run, then the program terminates with “error message KE707 when building summarization levels
I hope this answers your query.  Else do not hesitate to get back for more clarifications.

  • What is COPA- Summarization Level

    hi
    COPA- Summarization Level
can u give me some theory for this
and also what is filed partation in co-pa while creating datasource its aksing?
    regards
    suneel.

A summarization level stores an original dataset in a reduced form. This original dataset
describes the individual profitability segments in terms of the amount of characteristics each has.
Summarization means that selected characteristics are left out. Any segments in the original
dataset that are now identical through having had characteristics removed are combined into a
single pseudo-segment in the summarization level.
From the technical point of view, a summarization consists of two tables that have just been
generated, the key table and the totals table. Key table corresponds to the segment table and
contains the pseudo-segments produced from the reduced characteristics. The totals table
corresponds to the segment level and contains the associated value fields.
The summarization levels can be used in a number of different areas in Profitability Analysis:
      The information system Drilldown Reporting
To find the tracing factor for cost center assessment
      Manual planning
      Automatic planning
Transfer to Sales and Operations Planning (SOP)

  • COPA Summarization Levels

    Hi All,
I have created summarization levels in COPA and when I run the COPA KE30 report with the summarization levels being active or inactive, it produces the same numbers in the Dev system, so no issue there. But in QA system, same summarization levels do not provide the same numbers. The numbers when summarization levels are activated are less than half of the numbers when summarization levels are deactivated. Same problem in the PRD system. I have tried to resolve the issue by creating the summarization levels directly in the PRD system. But the numbers did not match in that case either. The numbers provided by the report when the summarization levels are deactived are less than even half of the numbers when the summarization levels are activated.
I have checked the report parameters in the DEV, QA and PRD systems and they are same.
Please let me know what may be causing this inconsistency.
Can it be because of some basis problem? I mean some memory problem etc which may be causing the summarization tables not to have all the data in QA and PRD systems.

You wouldnt have any message in reports yaar.
Just compare the authorisations in the development system with others.
Also, do one thing., execute transaction SU53 immediately after the report execution, to see for any missing authorisations.

  • Errors occurred during the extraction (Message no. RJ012)

    Hi
I created the data source successfully based on Operating Concern (account based).
But in RSA3 the same data source not showing any data though the related COPA tables having the data.
    What could be the problem?
As per the log, I searched in SAP there is some note saying need to apply the patch BANK_ANLAYZER
    Regards
    Venkat

I just had the same error. RJ012 in the BW system and RD155 in the source system.
I overcame this by creating summarization levels for CO-PA account-based.
    see thread COPA Datasources
The error 'RD 155 System could not find a source of data that could perform
the search ' usually means that there is no suitable summarization level for
the CO-PA Account Based Datasource. There has to be one (single)
summarization level that contains all characteristics (except for the
controlling area) with '*' in the characteristics view in transaction KEDV
    and has status 'active'.
Afterwards you have to fill this summarization level with transaction KEDU
also check thread COPA Summarization Concept
    does that help?

  • Steps to build summarization tables for CO-PA

    Hello Experts,
I recently deleted and re-created the COPA datasources to include some additional fields from the Operating Concern. However, I need to delete and re-create the COPA summarization tables as well to test my extractors. Can some of you provide me with a step-by-step solution to build the summarization levels.

  • Business Objects Text Analytics - Summarizer Software Library

We have crawled a website with Summarizer services. But we are not able to view the summary from Annotation Manager. Only the XML file is generated. We have looked into the below resources to get a solution but unable to find an answer.
    1.      Business Objects Text Analysis: Text Services Platform Useru2019s Guide u2013 Business Objects Summarizer Concepts and Configuration Guide
    2.      Of the trainings that we have purchased, there is no training on Summarizer. Does one exist which we can purchase?
    3.      We have googled out and could not find an answer.
    4.      We have tried to modify the summarizeru2019s configuration files as well. But these files control only what output you see and not how you see it.
Any pointers to resolve this issue would be really helpful.

You can use Metadata Viewer (MDV) to the view the summary of each document. To access it, you can do the following:
    1) Make sure that Processing Manager (PM) is up and running (as MDV resides on the same server).
    2) For the collection and crawler configuration, make sure that the Directory AR Adapter is used and set to store into the default directory.
    3) Enter http://localhost:7474/metavwr in the IE address bar. (Replace the server name and port with the one you run PM.) The username and password are the same as PM.
    4) Once the MDV page is up, click on the collection name, then the document id that you want to view the summary.

  • COPA variances missing Collective Order entries

We have a COPA summarization report for variances.  It picks up everything except Collective Orders that have sub orders.
Is there a technical reason why these collective orders can't post variances to COPA, or should I be looking to modify the report to include them.
This is a report I have inherrited, so I am not familar with how it was put together, but the original writer put together a messy ABAP query for these missing entries, but I would prefer to get them under 1 umbrella if that is at all possible
    Thanks
    Graham

    Hi Ajay,
I have checked and tried again running KKS2 in Update mode - but same result. No COPA Document generated.
I have also checked for exit COPA0005 and we are not using it.
Also want to add that the PRD account assigned in OBYC is not a Cost Element.
And when I am settling the order system is showing following two receivers:-
    1) Material #
    2) Profitability Segment.
But still no COPA document is been generated.

  • Summarisation levels in copa

    dear sap gurus,
can any explain me how summarisation levels in copa are useful.if any one has documentation on this pls forward to [email protected]
    regards,
    siva

    Hi Sivasai
COPA summarization levels are defined to optimize the system performance.  The uses which I could understand are as follows
    1)  You must have defined characteristics required in COPA reporting.  Now u can summarize COPA reports at a particular characteristic level - System sums up the value fields and populates considers the summarized values at level chosesn for summarization
    2)  When u do create planning layouts - here u define layouts whereve u enter plan values for sales qty, values, costs etc at ind product level or at product hierarchy level.  If u plan at hierarchy level u must hv defined the basis of distribution.  This takes care of detailed planning.  Now if u wish to transfer COPA sales plan values to SOP - u can either transfer at product level or total level.  Here u can define separate summarization level so that system consdiers the plan values and posts to SOP
    3)  Similarly u can do this for cost center assessments too
    4)  Before u do summarization levels u need to execute programme RKETRERU in SE38.  On running this programme the user defined levels are considered for summarization
Its an optional choice - depending on the number of products, complexity of planning, and other factors
Appreciate if someone in the forum can add their views on the above subject
Hope the above clarifies - pls assign points as a way to say thanks

  • CO table growth rate

    Hi,
We have gone line with SAP ECC for retail scenario recently. Our database is growing 3 GB per day which includes both data and index growth.
    Modules configured:
SD (Retail), MM, HR and FI/CO.
COPA is configured for reporting purpose to find article wise sales details per day and COPA summarization has not been done.
Total sales order created per day on an average: 4000
Total line items of sales order on an average per day: 25000
Total purchase order created per day on an avearage: 1000
Please suggest whether database growth of 3 GB per day is normal for our scenario or should we do something to restrict the database growth.
    Fastest Growing tables are,
    CE11000     Operating Concern fo
    CE31000     Operating Concern fo
ACCTIT     Compressed Data from FI/CO Document
BSIS     Accounting: Secondary Index for G/L Accounts
    GLPCA     EC-PCA: Actual Line Items
FAGLFLEXA      General Ledger: Actual Line Items
    VBFA     Sales Document Flow
    RFBLG     Cluster for accounting document
FAGL_SPLINFO     Splittling Information of Open Items
    S120     Sales as per receipts
    MSEG     Document Segment: Article
    VBRP     Billing Document: Item Data
ACCTCR     Compressed Data from FI/CO Document - Currencies
    CE41000_ACCT     Operating Concern fo
S033     Statistics: Movements for Current Stock (Individual Records)
    EDIDS     Status Record (IDoc)
CKMI1     Index for Accounting Documents for Article
LIPS     SD document: Delivery: Item data
VBOX     SD Document: Billing Document: Rebate Index
    VBPA     Sales Document: Partner
BSAS     Accounting: Secondary Index for G/L Accounts (Cleared Items)
    BKPF     Accounting Document Header
FAGL_SPLINFO_VAL     Splitting Information of Open Item Values
    VBAP     Sales Document: Item Data
KOCLU     Cluster for conditions in purchasing and sales
COEP     CO Object: Line Items (by Period)
    S003     SIS: SalesOrg/DistCh/Division/District/Customer/Product
    S124     Customer / article
    SRRELROLES     Object Relationship Service: Roles
    S001     SIS: Customer Statistics
Is there anyway we can reduce the datagrowth without affecting the functionalities configured?
Is COPA summarization configuration will help reducing the size of the FI/CO tables growth?

    Dear all,
    Oracle 9.2 on AIX 5.3
In one of our database, one table has a very fast growth rate.
How can I check if the table growth is normal or not.
    Please advice
The question is, what is a "very fast growth rate"?
What are the DDL of the table resp. the data types that the table uses?
One potential issue could be the way the table is populated: If you constantly insert into the table using a direct-path insert (APPEND hint) and subsequently delete rows then your table will grow faster than required because the deleted rows won't be reused by the direct-path insert because it always writes above the current high-water mark of your table.
May be you want to check your application for such an case if you think that the table grows faster than the actual amount of data it contains.
You could use the ANALYZE command to get information about empty blocks and average free space in the blocks or use the procedures provided by DBMS_SPACE package to find out more about the current usage of your segment.
