COPA Valuation

I have found out an error in valuation in COPA (due to the +/- Sign in Condition type assignment to Value fields - KE4I) What is the most optimum way of correction of this error.
Should the billing document be reversed and reposted.
Or the fi document should be reposted using KE26.
(in which case i need to modify my pa transfer structure etc)
Regards,
Ravi Rana

Cancel the billing document which will reverse biling and FI. Fix your PA valuation. Then repost the billing document.
pls assign points if helpful as a way to say thanks.

    Dear experts,
Pls guide me on the below.
Need to use copa valuation strategy in order to transfer cost to copa through cost componenet wise.
So i have assigned cost component to value field and i m using standard costing key with standard setting.
but need to define valuation strategy material, material type or any other characterstics.
which valuation strategy i will use?.
Which  record type and point of valuation i will use.i am not doing actual costing and material ledger.
What are sequence of step in order to t/f cost to copa through valuation strategy not through vprs.

    Hi
    a. Select Valuation Strategy 001 in KE4U
In DETAILS tab: Assign it to Appl = KE, Check Mat Cstng, and Qty Field = ABSMG
In Assignment tab: Assigning 001 to Point of valuation 01 and Record Type = F

  • COPA Valuation User Exit

When posting a document to COPA, I want to swap the value of one of the value field with another value field.
    1. Is it possible?
    2. Do we have a user exit for the same?
I tried COPA0002 but somehow when I create my billing document, control is not coming to that user exit at all.

COPA0002 need to be activated from transaction KE4U, setting the user exit field to U01

  • COPA Valuation when Billing posting, the exchange rage M

To anybody met this kid of situation,
    Controlling area currency: USD
    Company code currency: RMB
When i am doing costing run the result of components could be saved by both of RMB and USD.
But when billing is being posted, the amount of cost components is recalculated by exchange rate M again.
As a result, the amount of costing run in RMB and the amounts posted to PA in RMB are not consistent.
Anybody knows how to solve this problem ? Please advice.
    Thanks very much.

    Hi,
In case of postings with VPRS system will always calculate
operating concern currency (if it's different from company code
currency) using exchange rate type 'M' (notes 429517 and 547570).
Is it your rpoblem? Value of VPRS in operating concern currency during billing?
If yes, you should code enhancement COPA0005.
That's what we did to address this issue.

  • Help on COPA material Valuation

    Dear All,
Our client has 3 manufacturing plants. 2 in Delhi, 1 in Pune
Plant in Pune manufactures few products and  on the other side receives manufactured products from Delhi plants and does some processing then despatch to customers. The processing charges incurred in Pune is not inventorised and is not cost relevant and no product costing is done for the these materials received from other plants in Pune plant.
Here there are two things, one - Few products for which Cost estimation is done and for few products for which cost estimation is not done and Price is updated with MR21 though the price indicator is "S".
From the COPA perspective, "Error if cost estimation is not found indicator" is checked while valuating the materials in COPA.
Client wants this indicator to be active, but how it is possible to deactivate this indicator for the products received from other plants to Pune as Cost estimation is not done.
Please help me on this, any possibility of restricting this error message by creating a new costing key and assigning these with respect to material, plant combination.
    Please your suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks & Regards

    Dear Ajay,
Further to the above message, my costing key configuration is like this:
"Period Indicator: current cost estimate acc to enty in the material master"
Can you let me know, if the COPA valuation is with the current cost estimate, then for the Material for which cost estimation has not happend or released, how do the billing and its release to accounting happen.
If COPA is implemented and material valuation is done through Access to the standard cost estimation, then is it like every month Cost estimation is to be released.
If this is the case, then how it helps me in the scenario discussed. As i m unable to release the billing to accounting. the error message is below:
Valuation with material cost estimate: error with product "X"
    Message no. KE350
    Diagnosis
In Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), the system tried to valuate a line item using the current standard cost estimate.
In order to determine the current plan period, the system needs to read the valuation segment of the material master.
The system has found that the current plan period is not filled for product "X" in plant "ABCD".
    Display material (View: Costing)
The system looked for the material cost estimate using costing key "Z01", as defined in the Customizing settings for CO-PA.
    System Response
    The document cannot be processed.
    Procedure
    Contact your system administrator.
Please let me know on this.

  • Preli cost compo struc of production orders to sales orders -Non valuated

    Hi experts
We use Non valuated sales order cost/settlement and assembly order processing. So production order is created from sales order and prel cost estimate is created in the production order. Now we notice that the cost component struc in production order is not copied into sales order. Only the EK02 is copied with total cost.
How to bring cost compo struc from production order to sales order ?
This may be a special cost estimate with costing and Is it possible to bring cost compo struc to copa record type A or F.
I know standard cost compo mapping in copa but I could not see the costing variant used in production order in copa master data configuration.
    regards
    KT

If the sales order is not a cost object, you cannot cost in it, and you can therefor also not see the cost component split.
When you sell the material, you can pull through the cost component to PA, via the material master using the COPA valuation strategy. However, only the info for the material in the sales doc line item.
You don't link to a costing variant, you link using the above valuation strategy and the costing key. The costing variant sits inside the costing key.

  • FI to COPA Value fields Currency translation

    Hello All,
We are having the following situation.
    1) The company code currency is RUB
    2) Operating concern currency is EUR.
    3) Second local currency as EUR.
we are using a customised program to run the settlement. This program calls the KE21 transaction and creates the settlement line items.
The program passes the amount in the document currency to Ke21 transaction and the transaction inturn  does the currency conversion to operating concern currency EUR.
The issue is that because of this there are some differences in the Amount in FI and Amount in CO-PA in EUR currency because the RUB exchange rate  is volatile.
The userexit COPA0004 will give control only to the exchange rate type that can be defined.
Please let us know whether there is any user exit or any other way to have a control on the date of the currency conversion.
We tried sending the Second local currency,in this case the amount in EUR(Operating concern) is correct but the amount in the company code currency-RUB in COPA (Ke23)is not matching with the FI amount.
Hence our assumption is that if we can have a control on the date of the conversion then the FI and COPA amounts will match.
Please let us know incase the above requirement can be achived in any other way.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards
    Pavan M

You should be able to achieve this by implementing the COPA valuation enhancement.  Enhancement COPA0002, EXIT_SAPLKEAB_001 can be used to populate value fields.  To use the exit you first must assign an exit number to your valuation strategy (t-code KE4U), which you then use in the exit.  You can find documentation for the enhancement there as well.
    thanks,

  • Currency Conversion for billing doc and after user exits in COPA

    Hello Friends,
Need your view on this issue:
    1. Company codes currency and Operating currency is different., Costing Based CO-PA.
    2. Value filed "Gross Sales" get posted via Billing doc. In case of correction billing or re-posting (after reversal of original one) of billing doc value
field "Gross sales" get posted based on exchange rate of original (very first) posted document because system is updating "Translation date"
in table BKPF from very first document posted and not taking current date as a translation date. SAP standard program is  reading "Translation date" from BKPF to chose exchange rate and valuating "Gross Sales" on that ex.rate.
    3. Some user exits in COPA valuation to populate some values for other value field (Example - Gross Sales value should populate in value field
"Sales ASP"). After valuation in exits, SAP standard program is re-valuating value fields value (program statement is : perform currency conversion for fields that were changed in exit ) and for this valuation system is taking posting date for exchange rate.
Due to above logic company code currency value is different in Gross Sales and Sales ASP.
Requirement is : Sales ASP value should be same as Gross Sales.
Can you please share your thought to find the solution.
    Thanks
    Ravi

Check if the currency key and the unit of measurement are filled in (these will be the reference fields specified in the field definition of the structure at the database level).

  • Transfer of COGS to COPA

    Hi,
This is a third party sale scenario, Vendor (K) is selling to the Customer (D) & invoicing thru our client (X).
Now in this case, ideally vendor incoice value whould be the COGS for this sale. And it is happening rightly, at the time of GR for Vendor's PO debit to the COGS, trading goods account & credit to the GRIR account.
But if you look at the COGS from COPA, report KE24 the COGS value is from the material master at the billing invoice quantitty.
Can somebody help me in finding out where we do the configuration for the price update in COPA. And also kindly let me know how to change the COGS value in COPA.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raghava

    Hi
Do you produce the Product "ih-house" too and you use Product cost estimation?. If so, check whether you have valuation stategy assigned to that product or to any combination of characteristics in COPA Valuation

  • COPA Condition & Costing sht

    Hi All
In COpa, valuation usingCondition table/ access seq, condition type & condition record. is only for manual planning..??
No actual record flow over this..?

You could use it for actual data too. Example - You could calculate % bonus or commission directly in COPA using a new value field based upon actual sales coming in from other modules.

  • COPA Gross Margin report Cost component roll up

    Hi,
I have a question about COPA valuation using standard cost estimate and roll up of cost components in Gross Margin report.
I would like to build a simple Gross Margin Report in KE30 showing Billed quantity, Revenues and COGS split to Material, Labour and Overhead Components, but with cost components roll-up from SGH to FG.
In order to have the split of COGS I believe I need to maintain Valuation using Standard cost estimate in COPA. However, from my experience, I think that in Gross Margin reports I saw in COPA in the past - there was no cost component rollup from Semi finished to Finished products.
I mean if we sold 1 piece of FG at a price of 20 EUR and cost components for it would split into:10 - Materials, 2 - Labor,3 - Overhead (Total COGS of 15 EUR)
If  this is 2-level production and this FG has SFG in its cost estimate, the SFG cost split into: 3 - Materials, 1 -Labor and 2 - Overhead
From my experience all costs of SFG used to produce that FG would go under Materials Component in Gross Margin report (312=5 from SFG would go to Material component of Sold Finished Product). Is it possible to have in Gross Margin report situation where Material Component from SFG would be rolled up to Material component in Sold Finished Product, Labor component from SFG rolled up to Labour component in FG... etc?
    Regards,
    Karol

    Hi Karol
I dont think that SAP functions this way... In your eg, the Cost of SFG (321) does not roll upto to the Material cost of FG
Moreover, it is not controlled in COPA, but in Product Costing
When you define your Cost Comp Str in OKTZ, you can tick the check box "Roll up Cost Component" in each of the cost components.... Once you do this, the Overhead cost in SFG will be rolled up to the Overhead cost of FG (And Not to Material Cost of FG)...
Costing keys would simply fetch the cost estimates and transfer it to COPA.... So, set it up right at the source in OKTZ and it should be done

  • How to Capturing depreciation to Products for COPA reports

    Hi SAP Gurus,
My user requirement is capturing depreciation or Charge production machinery related Depreciation to respective products for COPA reporting. As currently all this depreciation is taken to excel sheet from the depreciation posted to asset.
Outside the system user prepare the allocation cycle and then post the same to the respective cost centers and value fields through COPA & CO assessment and Distribution cycles.
Now client find this allo/dist process is lengthy for COPA reports. Is it there any other criteria to post this dep. directly to COPA value fields.
    Thank & Regards
    Sagar

    Hello
In the costing sheet you may define one overhead for depreciation albeit this not being a standard practice. In the cost component structure also define on cost component assign the secondary cost element depreciation overhead. Change the COPA valuation to assign a value field for the cost component depreciation.
Alternatively in the COPA report itself you can show this depreciation as a formula column which will be at some percentage of RM and/or labour.
    My 2 cents please.

  • Revenue Planning in COPA from SOP

    Hi,
If SD team is implementing SOP, can anybody guide me whether they will only be doing quantity planning. If yes then how should I valaute my Revenue "Value Field" in COPA. What should be the appraoch as I have never worked with SOP.
    Thanks

    Hi
    You have 2 choices
    1. You can transfer qty from SOP and You can enter your revenue manually in KEPM (Copa planning)
    OR
    2. You can transfer qty from SOP and then run a COPA valuation in KEPM.
For this, In the IMG step "Define Valuation Strategy", assign a SD Pricing Procedure for Valuation Strategy 002, Application Type "V" and check Qty Field ABSMG.... This Pricing procedure can have a condition type named ZPLN which contains planned sale price or you can use the normal condition type that you use for billing
