Copy individual tracks from ipod??

iv'e been given great suggestions for moving the entire ipod library onto the hard drive but my h.d. is only 8 gigs!! (and all my cds are 6000 miles away). my library on my ipod is already bigger than my harddrive.
i've just downladed yamipod: does anyone know if it is possible to move individual tracks from that back to itunes?

Yes, you can do individual tracks with yamipod, just scroll down to the track you want and under the file menu there is a copy function. Good Luck.

  • How do I inport an individual track from a CD to itunes 12?

The latest version of iTunes (12) *****!  Apart from the missing sidebar which has annoyed many, my new gripe is that I have not found a way of importing individual tracks from a CD into iTunes (& hence my I-pod).  The only way I've found to do it so far is to import the total CD and then delete the tracks I don't want from iTunes.......doh!!
Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hello ed2345,
Thanks for the answer and it works!  It's not as intuitive or easy as with the previous version of iTunes - where you could click and drag the tracks you wanted to import - but it's way better than importing all and then having to delete the unwanted tracks.  Good job.
Glad it helped.  Enjoy the music!

  • What is the easiest way to copy individual photos from a pc to ipad?

what is the easiest way to copy individual photos from a pc to ipadair 2?  I have been told that transferring via itunes creates one mass file from which individual photos cannot be manipulated.

Photos synced from iTunes cannot be deleted one at a time if that's what you mean. They can be manipulated, if manipulated means editing or moving them into folders that you create on the iPad in the photos app.
I agree with Procyon256 that emailing is probably the easiest way for one at a time, but there are also WiFi transfer apps that are pretty nice for this purpose, I use this one.

  • Copying certain tracks from old iTunes to new library

I have iTunes on the Mac OS 9 partition of a G3 iMac and want to copy certain tracks from that into the iTunes library of my iTunes on my Mac Mini OS X.4.8 I have in the past copied entire libraries between computers using firewire, but this time I just want to add to my present computer a few tracks that are in the old one.
I remember about a year ago reading about a utility whereby you set up the two libraries side by side onscreen and moved whatever track you wanted across in either direction. I can't locate that or remember the name.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi there,
I copied the whole entire iTunes folder into my music directory on my new mac (as I had my own account on his mac), and then once that was done I dragged and dropped this folder onto my iTunes icon.
It's imported playlists, but not star ratings.
Is there something I should have done before exporting my music onto my hardrive in the first place? I've read somewhere about exporting ratings or exporting playlists or something....
    Cheers,

  • Playing individual tracks on Ipod Touch

I am currently using a Creative player and am thinking of getting a touch. What I like to do with my Creative player is: I open an album, select a track, start playing the track then while that track is playing I open another album in preparation for playing a single track from that album and so on. I would like to know if you can do that with the Touch. I know some players would just continue to play the next track on the first album so I need to know if the Touch will play only the track selected. Hope this is clear

I'm just trying to help and if you really want to buy that app that is your choice; however, I read the description and all of that is able to be done with the iPod's music app as I have described. I even went through and did it myself. You can create, edit and delete playlists. While adding music you can select individual songs within an album from as many albums you want. You can then shuffle those songs or if you want them to play in a specific order you can edit the order and move songs up or down on the list. All of this can be done, as well as the other playing/listens habits you might have all with one app that is compatible to play in the background while you check email or do other tasks. There is no need to purchase an additional app that you have to leave open for it to play how you want.

  • Recover dead tracks from ipod

recently my music HD got slightly corrupted and i lost afew tracks (533) so they'er comming up as dead tracks in itunes. my ipod is synced up to date so all thoes missing tracks are on the ipod, are there any tools that can recover the dead tracks from the ipod to fix my itunes database, its a horrific task doing it manually, cheers guys

The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

  • Tracks from ipod to pc

Can anyone please help me, I recently had to have my pc returned to base due to a fault. Unfortunately when I receive my pc back it shall be reset back to the factory setting meaning that all my itunes shall be erased, but I still have all my tracks on my ipod.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to move tracks from my ipod back to my pc??

    Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
    Music from iPod to computer.
There's also another method I've seen posted. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use other options.
There's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer.

  • How to Copy a file from iPod Touch to iMac

I have used the native "Voice Recorder" app on an iPod Touch to record lectures.  Generally, when the iPod is synced with the iMac, the files are copied from the iPod to the iMac and are located in "Voice Memos" on the iMac.  I have two files that didn't copy to the iMac.  They are still on the iPod.  I have rebooted both machines several times and tried to sync afterward.  The two files remain on the iPod, but aren't on the iMac.  I would like to transfer the files to a thumb drive, but I cannot access them on the iPod in order to copy or move them.
From what I've read, there used to be a function in iTunes that was "enable disk use".  Then you could view the memory of the iPod and move or copy files.
The iPod has iOS 5.1.1.  It is a modelMC008LL.  The iMac has OS X 10.7.3, 2.93 GHz Intel processor, 24" screen, and was produced in 2009.

I used iFunBox to access the files.  I was not able to copy them to the "Voice Memos" directory on the iMac, but they copied fine to the Desktop on the iMac.  That is puzzling to me.
Using iFunBox, I looked at a directory on the iPod called Raw File System.  I was looking at voice memos.  Several had five or more duplicates.  The duplicates aren't visible on the iPod itself.  I also found a Quick Time Movie file that I didn't recall.  When I launched it, there was only sound.  It was a voice memo that I had recorded five years ago.  After recording it, I could not find it on the iPod.  It appeared to be deleted and I had been careful to not delete it.  I don't understand how it ended up as an .mov file as opposed to an .m4a file.  The iFunBox app showed that file under the Raw File System and also under the Voice Memos directory.
I like the audio quality of the Voice Memo recordings, but its file handling is quirky.
Thank you for suggesting iFunBox.  It allowed me to solve the problem of getting two files off of the iPod that I couldn't do in the normal way and I discovered and recovered a file that had been hidden for five years.

  • New IPOD NANO (5th Generation)  - Copying music files from IPOD to ITUNES

    Help!
I managed to sync all of my music files from my ITUNES on my new IMAC Apple computer and I also managed to sync one album to my IPOD NANO from my old G4 Tower Apple computer's ITUNES. Now I would like to copy that one album from my IPOD NANO to my current ITUNES on my new IMAC Apple computer. Do I sync in the manual mode option?

You can't use iTunes to transfer music from iPod to computer unless that music was purchased from the iTunes store.
If so, see: How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Try iPodDisk. This is a program designed to transfer music from iPod to computer.

  • Copying Play Count from iPod to iTunes?

Hello, is it possible to copy the play count of songs from iPod to iTunes? I do not have my iPod syncing with iTunes (and do not want to have that feature enabled). Also, I do not merely want the play count to be overwritten, but added onto.
    Thank you,
    Victor Ly

Thanks for replying. I do not use autosync because the songs on my iPod do not come from a single computer, but the four computers I personally have and two other ones (my girlfriend's and another friend's). Also, I have a Nano and my song collection is way more than my Nano can hold. Just the music I have purchased off iTunes won't fit onto my Nano.
If anyone knows of an alternative way, please let me know. Is there anyway I can turn autosync on for the play count update and not have it do anything else? Thanks.

  • IPod Full - How do I remove tracks from iPod to create space?

The tracks in my iTunes has superseeded the size of my 20GB iPod.
I need to leave some space on my iPod to back up important work files, therefore how do I remove selected tracks from my iPod to create the necessary space?
    Thx for your help.
    Matt.

Any changes needed for your iPod will have to be made in iTunes. How about making a specific playlist in iTunes for your iPod of a specfic size which will allow for your work files, then in your iPod preferences tell iTunes to only sync iPod to that playlist? Welcome to discussions!

  • How to copy pictures directly from iPod 5?

Hi.  Please help.  My daughter forgot her passcode to her iPod and the photos aren't backed up.
I need to copy the photos from the iPod to my laptop.  I am able to do this with my iPhone 4s through windows explorer (even when the iPhone is disabled).  All I do is open windows explorer, click on the iPod drive listed under "computer," open the file, select pictures and drag & drop to copy... it's that simple.  But my daughter's iPod 5th gen does not show up in my list of drivers within windows explorer.
How can I get the pictures transferred or copied to my computer without syncing through iTunes (and the cloud isn't an option because she has too many pictures)?
This is all she cares about saving and I've spent 3 days entering in codes trying to find the right passcode and I'm not excited about doing this through all 10,000 possible combinations.  Please help!!!!

Sounds like her iPod was never synced to your computer. If so that is why it is not accessible on your computer. It is part of the screen-lock security feature. security feature.
