When creating a new user (copy-from method), can the SQ03 user group assignments also be copied at this time or must this be maintianed separately?

E-Recruiting specific BADIs are not called in functions which are built in the ABA.
E-Recruiting BADIs are just used in E-Recruiting functions and classes.
The support team group BADI belongs to the new Manager process implemented in the new MSS scenario.
The easiest way to assign a support team to a requisition automatically, is by implementing a workflow, which is triggered by ERC_OBJECT ObjectCreated.
This will automatically assign anything you want. But in this case you will have the problem, that you can just assign a generic support group to a requisition, because no data was entered before.
Another possibility is enhancing a specific BSP-Application by using the enhancement framework. Post-Exists on class methods might help you. But you need to identify that specific BSP application, which is called during the specific save you need in order to have the right criteria provided.

Error during New Version Creation in Controlling

I am creating new version in Controlling (tried copying from existing Versions too), and getting the given below error message. We are working on SAP R/3 4.7.
Valuation in controlling area xxxx is inconsistent -> please check
Message no. KT340
Diagnosis
The result from checking the versions for controlling area xxxx is that you want to work with multiple valuations. However, the corresponding version settings are inconsistent.
System Response
The function is not performed.
Procedure
Navigate to the version settings in controlling area xxxx, choose Check valuation and correct your settings.
Please let us know the necessary action for this.

Looks like more than one actual version is maintained for Controlling Area using multple valuation approach.
You can check inconstency through Transaction OKevn.

Creation of Portal users and group assignments

Hi, everyone. My company just completed a load of some 2000 E-Business suite users into our new portal and have given them group assignments according to payroll. I had gathered a number of routines into a PL/SQL package in order to do this. These came from several sources in these forums, on Metalink, and other places on the internet. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in having it. A lot of it was rewritten on the fly, and I should probably clean it up a bit, but it would have saved me some time if someone had offered it to me. Is there a good place to post things like this? I'm sure that better ways exist to do some of these things than what I used, and I would be interested in some of the experts' comments.
Anyway, let me know if you are interested.

1) I'm reading all document attribute characteristic values of the layout new lines from the user exit.
2) I've created one variable for each "document attribute characteristic"
3) I've created "COPY DOCUMENTS planning function" and included variables in the parameter group
4) user exit in step 1 fills all variables (fills only 1 value at a time) & passes to "COPY DOCUMENTS parameter group"
4) due to restriction of only single entry variables usage in
"COPY plannig funciton", I'm using "API_SEMBPS_FUNCTION_EXECUTE" and executing "COPY DOCUMENTS planning funciton" as many times as number of new lines
5) if there are 6 new lines, user exit in step 1 loops 6 times & calls "API_SEMBPS_FUNCTION_EXECUTE" 6 times which inturn executes "COPY DOCUMENTS planning funciton" 6 times
Am I on the right & effective path?
Is there any better approach?

This is one way you can do that. The bad side of your implementation is that the planning function is called 6 times. It would be better to copy the coding of the planning function and modify it in such a way that you can do all of the steps in one go. If the performance is all right I would still leave it the way it is as then you do not have to change to coding.

New user creation in AE- user group not getting assigned

Hi All,
Here is a typical case, wherein when we create a new user with AE for the production system, the user gets created and the roles are also assigned but the user group is not getting assigned. The user group is being fetched from a table from the backend and all that is working fine. Infact in order to test the configurations we even created a new user in the production instance of AE giving the development system as the target system for user creation and in this case the user was successfully created and the user group is also assigned. The problem is arising only when the target system is production system.
Connectors are all working fine, but we are unable to think of a reason. Can somebody help us on this?

If you are provisioning the user group using user defaults, check that production system is selected in the user defaults configured. Configuration -> user defaults. You can define any user default system, but for perticuticular user defaults that is applicable define all the systems, in which you want user defaults to be provisioned.

Copying files from admin acct to new user acct

hello, i read in the new macworld that i should try to avoid using the admin acct as a daily user. so i'm taking there advice. the problem i have is when i create another user, its settings are reverted back to when you first installed os x. i don't want this. i tried copying my users folder from my admin acct but whn i switch over to my new user acct the settings are still set to default.
at first i put them in the shared folder with my admin acct and when i switched over to the new user that folder didn't give me access. what am i doing wrong?

There is a far easier way to do this without having to move files between user accounts:
1) Go to System Preferences -> Accounts and make a new admin account
2) Go to System Preferences -> Accounts -> your original account, and un-check "Allow user to administer this computer"
All done!

Copied Domain won't open in new user account

I created a new user account and then copied a domain file to the new account. I gave myself permission to use the file. I am unable to open the domain. I deleted the plist in my new account several times, following the advice in another post. Any ideas?

New sap user creation

Hi All SAP experts,
My company has implemented 2 Systems SAP Landscape with one development and one production server which are running on R/3 Enterprise 4.7 (Kernel Release 6.20) with Microsoft SQL 2000 as database server.
I have the following questions regarding new sap user creation by using user copy function.
1.When I request to create new SAP User by using user copy function ,should I just create the user acct in DEV and transport it to PROD System? If yes, how could I do that?
2.When I request to create new SAP User by using user copy function, can I just create it on PROD System only? If yes, what is the impact?
3.When using User copy function to create new user acct, should I select all parts (like adress ,defaults,reference user, user groups.....) of the existing user to be cloned to new user acct?

Hi Leon,
Answer to your questions in their respective order:
1. You can create user in DEV and then make remote client copy to PRD system using scc9 t-code. Here you can choose user accounts and authorizations for the copy. ( Rem: Data will be overwritten in target system when copied).
You can also use client export/import(scc8/scc7)
But, When you do the client import from the exported files using STMS,you will have to select only one of the transport requests and then STMS automatically selects the other requests for you.
Then it will show you the different transport requests that you have created during your export, the client copy profile and the target system and client. The customizing and application data is deleted in the target client before copying for all profiles except SAP_USER. This is technically unavoidable (and hence the data will be overwritten).
So if you can afford overwritting of user data in target client , you can go with the above procedure.
2. Using user copy in su01, you can copy one user to another user only in that client and is confined to that system only. So yes, If you want 2 or more users to have same authorizations, profiles ,etc etc.. you can choose this in PROD system.
3. It depends.. If you want user to be in same group, then you can choose user groups. If you want them to have same authorizations , you can choose roles and profiles... If you want them to have same company address and others,... you can select address.. and so on.

Copying a user account

Is it possible to copy a user account on my MacBook Pro? What i want to do is actually change the shortname, but that appears to be overly complex. Can I instead just copy a user account to a new one i create?

Use ChangeShortName to change the account's short name, or change all instances of the old name to the new one on your system. These instances are found in the Users folder by default, the list of properties for your user account in the NetInfo Manager, which is in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, and in the membership of some of the groups in the NetInfo Manager. In either case, log out and back in after changing the name; if automatic login is turned on for that account, turn it off before beginning the procedure, and turn it back on after logging back in.

The script is running very well, but when we create a new employee on HR System (No SAP) this this script is not running just for this new user but for all other users already exitents on IDM. The script increase in Mass an not just for new user.
Does anyone know if this can be related with delta configuration, or this kind of validation ( create just for new employe placed on HR) needs to be done inside the script?

is the "Create Identity"-task called by the HR-update-job?
The screenshot in the old thread just shows the three inputs. I guess, there are some more in the used task. Did you check, if the other lines have the dot as a prefix, so that these attributes are only filled (and therefor the script only runs), when the entry is created, but not updated?
If yes and it's missing for those two attributes, just add it.

e.g., in our DEV we have two client say 500 & 201.A user say dev_user is present in client 500 with some authorization.Now i want the same user dev_user with same authorization in client 201.
note:-
*according to my knowledge user is a client dependent.

1)create a new user in 201 with the same user name with the help of su01

I am not sure of replication a single use, but u can move all users by CLIENT Export. That means , u will be creating a transport request which will contain all User master records using SCC8. here select the USER profile SAP_USER.

Copying selected user between two clients

When we do client copy using either SCCL or CLIENT EXPORT OR IMPORT, how can i copy selected user.
Eg: If i am copying users from client 001 to my own created client say 300 and i want to copy only selected users of 001 to 300 how can i do that?

you must create, manually.
if you want to copy all users, you can use local client copy option via tx-code sccl and choose correct profile
but, if you want only selected, create user via tx-code su01 on your new client
you can create a transport request on your soruce client and put necessary roles for user. after you import this request to new client via tx-code scc1, you can give these roles to created user

Copy existing user password & attricutes to another user

Dear all,
The requirement is to copy the user attributes, especially the existing password to a New User ID. i.e., I want to replace/rename the existing user id with the same password. I tried copying the USR02-BCODE. But it is not working.

How do I duplicate layers & groups without automatically adding a "copy", "copy 1", "copy #" at the end of the new group?
It's been pestering me for quite a while now, since I often work with the same elements over and over again. Its frustrating to have to change the name of each layer manually, especially if I'm copying a whole group.
Is there a setting in Photoshop or perhaps an external script that can help fix this for me?

There is no way to defeat this within the program itself. Here's the workaround:
Duplicate the file (from the Image menu).
Drag the Group or layers from the Layers list from the duplicate to the image window of the original , while holding down Shift.
That will make a "copyless" copy and reposition the copyed material in the exact same position it was on the original.
