Copy text out of multiple word documents

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if it is at all possible to copy ALL the text from multiple word documents and place it into one. So basically bringing 6+ documents into 1.
I've done some google searches and have come a cross this:
New-Object -comobject Word.Application
But not sure if I can do what I want it to do. Any help/links would be a massive help.

Concatenate multiple word documents into 1 long document in APEX

I have a requirement to concatenate multiple word documents into 1 long document in APEX but I'm not sure if it can be done
or where to begin.
I've been able to upload/download files in APEX and generate Word docs using BI Publisher, but I can't seem to find anyway to carryout the above.
Any feedback greatly received.

The files are never actually stored in the database as a BLOB or CLOB.
I'm basically trying to do the following:-
I have a third party Document Management System that stores a number of templates (.doc and .dot).
The files are stored in a directory on a file sever.
I have been tasked with the job of creating a Document Generator type app in APEX that will allow the users to select a number of these files and concatenate them together into 1 large 'Master' Document.
I was hoping to be able to do this without having to go down the line of using external software functions like Java but I'll check out your suggestion.

Use Powershell to replace text with image in Word document

I have a powershell script that uses a Word document as a template to create signatures that I am pushing out to my organization.
The document is populated with text formatted the way I want the signature to look, that I then do a FindText and ReplaceText on. This works fine for replacing text with text, but I can't figure out how to properly replace some of the holder text with
an image and a link. I found a few posts about adding images to word documents, but none that seem to work properly in this scenario.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

This is certainly a scripting question, and even something as simple as "You will need to call the .NET methods for the Word find/replace functionality. Please ask in the Word forums for the correct method to use.

Importing Multiple Word Documents into RH

I know that RH allows users to import word documents, however
I was wondering if there was a way to import multiple word
documents (ala batch style import) instead of importing each
document one at a time.

Colum has good advice. Also, since you're new to this, there
are a few curiosities that occur that can be puzzling to newcomers.
If you have graphics in your Word docs (screenshots, etc.) a new
folder will automatically be created. So if the name of your Word
doc is MYDOC.DOC, graphics will be placed in a new folder called
MYDOC_Files.
Another "hitchhiker" to the process is the creation of a CSS
file automatically created for each Word doc. After the import you
have the choice to reassign any style sheet you like, regardless of
the CSS originally linked.
Another tip if you're new to importing, go to Peter Grainge's
excellent site.

I'm unable to copy text out of an ADE book.

Recently bought a new Windows PC and transferred all files to it from my old one. Installed ADE successfully, gave it my authorization ID and all is well. I'm able to open the book I'm interested in and browse all through it. But I'm unable to copy text out of it. I highlight the text in the book and when I either right-click or pull down the Edit menu, the Copy function is grayed out and clicking on it does nothing. Ctrl-C also doesn't do anything. This worked on my old PC. What's up here? Thanks for any help. Jim

Can I covert multiple Word Documents into a single PDF using Acrobat Pro

I'm using Acrobat Pro X version 10.1.10...I'm trying to select multiple Word Document files (Mac Version 14.4.3) but when choosing the files, Word Documents I cannot select them as a convertible file format. If I drag them into the conversion box it says they are not a recognised file format....any ideas?

Can you open any WORD file in Acrobat? If not, it is likely a limitation of Acrobat on the MAC. On the PC, you can simply use the Combine option in the file menu to create a new PDF. The conversion of the WORD document uses the PDF Maker option installed in WORD that must work, but this is the same process as opening a DOC or DOCX file directly in Acrobat. There are limitation with the compatibility of various versions of OFFICE and Acrobat that could be another issue you are having, but I don't know the combinations for a MAC. This only gives you some thoughts to consider. Some of the MAC users may be by later to give further thoughts.
The alternative is to create a PDF for each of the WORD files and then use the combine feature to combine the PDFs.

Convert Multiple Word Documents to Multiple PDFs

Hi, I'm looking for a way to convert multiple word documents into PDF files. I'm running Adobe Acrobat 3D Version 8.1.2. It seems as if going to Advanced > Document Processing > Batch Processing and then using the Print All sequence will allow this to happen, but when I have selected the word documents I want to turn into PDFs, after I click "Run Sequence" I get a message in the progress window saying "Starting the application in which the file was created..." then Acrobat shuts down and nothing happens. Does anybody have any ideas as to why this is happening?

Apologies for making an incorrect suggestion. "Batch Conversion" is a feature in Acrobat 9 and above.
I'd suggest you use the "Open All" sequence > Double-click it to EDIT > For "2. Run Command On:" choose "Selected Folder" and BROWSE to the input folder. Similarly for "3. Select Output Location", you can choose "Same Folder as Original(s)", click OK and then "Run Sequence".
This would invoke the PDFMaker for conversion of Word documents to PDF and save the output PDF(s) at the folder mentioned, instead of printing and prompting to save the output each time Adobe PDF Printer is called.
Plus, could you please check if the Adobe PDF toolbar/menu options are there in Word and working fine?

So, I'm a little new to PowerShell and I came across a PowerShell which allow me to copy the content od a spreadsheet, into the new message in Outlook 2007. I have search and search on a way to do the same with a Word Document. I would like to

My requirements are the Word documents are a template of sorts. The document will be changes prior to its email with some changes. The other twist is that the customer might more that one recipients, and each recipient will have to have a separate
email, with the same content of the word document.
For example: Say I'm doing maintenance. The Word doc might descript that maintenance, in a set format. Once save the script is run to generate 3 to 10 email with separate recipients with the body of the email containing what was in the Word document.

Copying and Pasting Form into Word Document

I am new to formcentral. I am having a hard time copying and pasting a COMPLETED form into word. Everytime I try, I can see the form questions but the actual filled out responses to the form are blank in the word document. I have also tried to "export" from Adobe into a word document and that also is blank. Any suggestions?

Copying text from InDesign to Word: formatting problems

Hi all,
I have copied a large amount of text from an InDesign CS4 document into Word. I am now having formatting problems. The main problem is that where long words run over two lines, they are not appearing as hyphenated, and I am not able to stop them running over two lines. Inserting the cursor at the start of the second part of such a word and deleting simply deletes the preceding letter on the line above, as if there were no line break.

Instead of Copy/Paste, try selecting the text and exporting to .rtf (or if you have an active cursor, but no selection, theentire story will be exported). Open the .rtf in Word.

Copying text object to multiple still menu views

I am fairly new to this program. I have multiple still menu views on my graphical tab. I need to change one text object for multiple still menu views at the same time. As of now, highlighting all and changing the text object only changes one view. Is this possible and does anyone know how to do this??

You can't. Each one has to be made individually, you can of course use copy & paste to do this.

Underlining text in a MS word document from PL/SQL

I have a routine that creates a text file using the TEXT_IO package and then launches MS Word for the user to edit the newly created text. They've asked me if I can underline/bold certain parts of the text prior to launching word.
I have a feeling that I'll need either DDE or OLE to access a word document directly rather than simply creating a text file and calling Word. Does anybody have a recommendation for which way to proceed?

Thanks for the info. I kind of figured that I would need to use either DDE or OLE. I've never heard of OLE2 but I assume its just the latest version of OLE?
