Copy Version Question

Hi, I want to copy a ZVERSION Value Set from 146.9 to 146.10.  And I want to change the year as well, say 2009 to 2010.
When I do this copy how do all of the 0CALMONTH, 0CALQUARTER values get changed to 2010 Like I need them to be?
Any examples oddly seem to only use only the simplest characteristic of YEAR as an example
Thanks,

Hello Kenneth,
There are many ways by which you can do this.
1) One is FOX formula where you can give the following syntax,
Structure of FOX: {Keyfigure, Version, Year, Calendar month, Calendar quarter}
E.g: {KYFNM, 146.9, 2009, 200901, 20091} = {KYFNM, 146.10, 2010, 201001, 20101}. You can make this dynamic by using exit variables.
2) Use normal copy function but include Calendar month and calendar quarter in the To be changed fields. And create 12 entries for each calendar month like the following one:
To be changed: Version, Year, Calendar month, Calendar quarter
Version : 146.9 to 146.10
Year :2009 to 2010
Calendar month : 200901 to 20101
Calendar quarter: 20091 to 20101
3) Use characteristic restrictions to derive Calendar quarter.
4) Use your own custom class.
Are there any more options people?

T-Bird.

  • Copy Version-Budget data copied from one version to another-How to view Data in Copied Version.

    Dear All,
Budget Data is copied from one Version to another Version using Tools>copy Version option. How can you view Data copied to new Version, when you receive a message Version is successfully copied.
I think we can do that by selecting appropriate version in the version dimension while accessing the Forms or in Smart View.
Can you please let me know how to do this or different options available with this process.
Thanks in Advance for your valuable time...

A form to check the data with the correct POV, a Smart View query, excel addin retrieve, financial report, export data, report script, take your pick.

  • Planning function to copy  version A of year 2007 to Version B of 2008 - IP

I have a copy planning function which has a variable on from version and to version and it works fine.I can copy.So version to version for the same year works fine.
Another requirement is to copy Version A of year 2007 to version B of year 2008.For this in the planning function I made version, year and calyearmonth all 3 as changeable and have variables on from version from year and to version and to year.I don't have a variable on calyearmonth.
I run the query for version B and year 2008 and CALYEARMONTH 1/2008-12/2008 and it returns empty results as there is no data for version B for year 2008.then I execute the planning function to copy data from version A and year 2007 to version B and year 2008.I am getting the following error "CalyearMonth is not included in selection".I ran the query for 1/2008 - 12/2008.I didn't understand this.
In the planning function filter I don't have any filter for calyear and calyear month. But it is there in the query.
    Thanks

    Hi Siva,
Since you do not have the calmonth as the change characteristic in your plannning function. The values would be copied to year 2008 with month as #.
So there would be no values for months of 2008 and hence you are getting that error.
You need to copy the month figures also for data to be seen in the report.
    Assign points if useful.

Does anyone find a solution to desactivate in SMARTVIEW the COPY VERSION menu?
I see that we can add extension (smartview > Option >extensions) ... maybe it is the way !

  • Copy Version Limitation

    Hi Gurus
We have make data forms read only from Planning End in order to avoid any data corruption on finalized budget. But we can not stop "Copy Version" to edit the locked data. Pls advice, how can we control it. Its very urgent.
    Thanks

What do you mean? Is this descriptions in docs failed? http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hp_user_11122/vers_cpy.html

  • Restrict 'Copy Version' to admin only??

    Hi,
Hyperion Planning and Budget - 11.1.2.1.0.83 - is there anyway to remove the 'Copy Version' functionality from users at less than Admin level, or is this functionality 'wrapped up' in a role that covers a multitude of functions such that removing 'Copy Version' would emasculate the end user??
If not, is there any supported way to customise / reconfigure what functionality the roles allow?
    thanks for your input,
    Robert.

You might have to secure the Versions to prevent copy into them.

  • Planning Copy Version

Using version 9.3.1, I am trying to use the Planning functionality File->Workflow-> Copy Version to copy our final budget version to a new version to archive the budget so as to use it for reporting. I have tried several times and each time I try it runs for about 15 minutes and then bombs out. I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" in place of the Planning web page. It was run last year successfully. How do I know what's going on?

    Suggestion:
If the amount of data is huge then its worth to increase the java heap settings.
➤ To change the Java memory settings for WebSphere:
1 Highlight the default server in the administrator console.
2 Enter the amount of RAM in the Initial java heap size and the Maximum java heap size fields.
    Note:
You can set both values to 512 or 1024, depending on how much RAM your system has. If your
system has 1 GB of physical RAM, use 512 MB as the java heap size.
To change the Java memory settings for WebLogic:
1 Open the CMD file used to start the application server (for example, startHPServer.cmd).
2 Locate the section for the %JAVA_HOME% variables and make the setting changes shown below. This
procedure is the same for Planning and Oracle's Hyperion® Financial Reporting – System 9.
    echo on
    "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" -hotspot -ms256m -mx256m -classpath %CLASSPATH% -
    Dweblogic.management.discover=false -Dweblogic.Domain=Hyperion -
    Dweblogic.Name=HPServer "-Dbea.home=%BEA_HOME%" -
    Dweblogic.management.password=%WLS_PW% -Dweblogic.ProductionModeEnabled=%
    STARTMODE% "-Djava.security.policy==%WEBLOGIC_HOME%/lib/weblogic.policy"
    weblogic.Server
    goto finish
And anytime you can use a calc script or a business rule to Copy Version.
    Cheers...!!!

  • I have to open Task Manager to quit the Firefox process almost every time b4 it will shut down I just uninstalled & downloaded another copy/version & will reinstall again. Thought you would want to know. I am anjulz on comcast

I have to open Task Manager & quit the Firefox process manually b4 it will stop. When I did it the last time b4 I just uninstalled my memory usage was up to like over 300,000 with only 1 tab open. Just downloaded another copy/version & will reinstall. Hopefully this will stop the problem. thought you would want to know this.

The proper way to close Firefox is through the File menu "Exit" or the equivalent with the Firefox button.
More detail in item '''#38 Firefox already running '''
    of
[http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6) (#fx4interface)]
Firefox already running, to properly shutdown Firefox when closing the last window use File → Exit/Quit (or Firefox button → Exit). Closing Firefox with the [X] in the upper right corner closes the window ("Ctrl+W") but that does not necessarily close Firefox if it has subtasks running. If you want to close and reopen Firefox use the "Restart" within Add-ons if you made a change requiring a restart, or install "[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/restartless-restart/ Restartless Restart]" ("Ctrl+Alt+R") which will allow you to take Firefox down and restart without having to check the Windows Task Manager to see if Firefox first actually ended. • Multiple Software Versions Question

Rookie question here.  My organization recently purchased a new copy of InDesign CS6 for me and one other employee.  We did NOT purchase Creative Cloud subscriptions, but hard copy licenses.  The software is working great and we love your product.  The problem we are having is in regards to other people in our organization trying to open our newly created InDesign Documents (CS6) with their older version of the software (CS5).  We do NOT have the option to upgrade the CS5 software licenses, so what are our options for those employees with CS5 to be able to view and edit documents created in CS6?  I'm assuming there is a way to save the CS6 documents as older versions, correct?  We all operate Windows PC's.  I greatly appreciate your help.

@Todd – the only way saving back is exporting to IDML from CS6 and open the IDML in CS5.
If this is a reliable workflow is questionable. You have to proofread the opened IDML in CS5. I recommend to export to PDF from CS6 as well and compare the PDF with the opend IDML in CS5.

  • Version question.

    Dear All,
I have refered this link (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html#Application_Servers)
We have licence copy of wls server 10.3.2 and so can only use jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.x only for development right..? So new versions of jdeveloper is not compatible with the wls server we have.. So is there any upgrade patches available for standalone wls server ?? so we can do development in latest version of jdeveloper .. if yes then is it free or we have to pay for it ?
    Also one more question.
The ADF application developed in jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.x will be compatible with the future releases of jdev 11g (i.e example jdev 11.1.1.4.x) ?
    Regards,
    Santosh
    by the way happy easter..
Edited by: Santosh Vaza on Apr 23, 2011 11:35 AM

    Hi Santosh.
Regards upgrading WLS, yes, patches are available from Oracle Support for 10.3.2->10.3.3->10.3.4.
In terms of JDev versions vs WLS versions, it's a question of support and certification. At it's simplest ADF 11.1.1.2.0 works with WLS 10.3.2, 11.1.1.3.0 with 10.3.3, 11.1.1.4.0 with 10.3.4. You can learn more about the certification matrix here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html (see the application server section).
As for payment, this isn't my area of expertise, but I believe if you have a license for 10.3.2 and a support contract with Oracle you are entitled to a free upgrade.
Regarding your last question on future compatibility, you cannot guarantee this to it's ultimate extreme (say 11.1.1.2.0 to 15.4.3.2), but yes, there is a level of forward compatibility. We've currently three 11.1.1.2.0 applications that are in the process of being upgraded to 11.1.1.4.0 and as far as we know there's virtually no compatibility issues, just one know bug in the migration process of the jazn-data.xml file that affects us.
    Hope this helps.
Happy easter to you and your family too.
    Regards,
    CM.

  • CS3 Extended copy right question

    Hello,
I have a question concerning copy right of Photoshop CS3 Extended software.
Is it legal to sell a version of CS3 Extended on a flashdrive?  There is a company that is selling it on a flashdrive and they claim that it doesn't have to be activated but the help files have been removed and the software cannot be undated.
    I asked the company about the software and they claimed it is legal.  This is what they said;
This is not an illegal copy. The "Patent and Legal Notices" in the "Help" menu clearly state in the (EULA) the following (section:2 paragraph 2):
"Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of the Unicode data files and associated documentation (the “Data Files”) or Unicode software and associated documentation (the “Software”) to deal in the Data Files or Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, and/or sell copies of the Data Files or Software, and to permit persons to whom the Data Files or Software are furnished to do so, provided that (a) the above copyright notice(s) and this permission notice appear in all copies of the Data Files or Software, (b) both the above copyright notice(s) and this permission notice appear in associated documentation, and © there is clear notice in each modified Data File or in the Software as well as in the documentation associated with the Data File(s) or Software that the data or software has been modified".
Please let me know if this is legal.
    Thanks

They're giving you a good discount because it can't be updated, right? Not charging you this much:

  • Carbon Copy Cloner Question

    Good Morning,
I normally use CCC to copy a bootable image of my computer's HD on to an external Firewire HD. Yesterday (to experiment) I created a sparse disk image with CCC on my external HD... Seems like a good option since I don't have to use the entire HD as a bootable copy.
I've ended up with a file called "Littlemac.sparseimage" on my external. When I double-click it, a volume entitled "Littlemac" shows up on my desktop.
    So here's my question:
Let's say that sometime in the future my internal HD crashes (I had a bad day with a Leopard install) and I need to restore my internal HD from my external.
What's the procedure/process for getting booted up to a point where I can use CCC to clone the external HD back to the Internal HD?
    Thanks,
    Bob

    Bob:
I use a registered version of SuperDuper in which I have used the feature of a read only compressed .dmg. I knew that CCC offered the option of a disk image. I had only the latest version on my computer, downloaded the earlier version for Panther and found no mention of a compressed .dmg. I read through the documentation in the Help menu and found no mention there, either. I may have missed something in my quick read, but I don't think it is offered. As far as I can tell, the offer only an expandable sparseimage. Nor am I sure if the unregistered version of SD offers the feature of a compressed read only .dmg as the registered version does. I suggest that you download it and try. You may also want to post a question in CCC Discussions Forum and see what you find out. Sorry about that
Please let me know what you find out, especially if you download SD and check the unregistered version.
    Good luck.

  • SQL Developer Data Copy (version 1.5.5)

I was trying to copy the data values from one table to another.(Across two schemas. But the tables are the same). I exported the data values as csv and imported in on the other schema. is this the only way to do on SQL developer?. This method seems to be inconsistent. It works only for a few tables. Doesn't work for all the tables. Does anyone have an alternative solution for this?. Or can anyone give me the exact picture of what could possibly be wrong with my method?

    Hi,
Data Modeler 4.1 needs Java 1.8 to run successfully.
If you try to run Data Modeler 4.1 with Java 1.7 it gets stuck in "Registering Extensions", and this error appears in the console log.
When you try to start it with Java 1.7 it normally gives an "Unsupported JDK version" warning, which identifies the file that needs to be updated to refer to a Java 1.8 jdk.
On Windows, this will normally be C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\datamodeler\4.1.0.866\product.conf,
but if you start it from the console using the datamodeler64.exe it will probably use the file
    C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\datamodeler64\4.1.0.866\product.conf instead.
You can edit this file.  Alternatively if you delete the file, it should display the dialog asking for the location of the JDK next time.

  • Acrobat.exe product version question

    Hi
Does anyone know of a link in Adobe where it shows every product version number for all acrobat.exe they have produced?
Basically i just want to be able to see which version of the file is a professional and standard version. (Based on the file product number).
eg. Acrobat.exe product number 8.1.0.2007051100 is a professional version.
    Thanks
    DM

I think there is a list, but the problem is it may vary based on the source and version as I recall a comment before. Anyway, the fastest way of getting the information is still probably to run the program, using one with Pro and one with Std. Sorry that I can't be more helpful, but the last time I saw a question about these numbers the answer was rather mixed and indicated it varied with the source of the product and several other factors. I don't really know more.

  • Process and Form version question

a few questions related to the versions of Forms and Processes:
    1) in WorkSpace, launch a process, then put the form in "Draft".
then modify its XDP, the form gets a new version in the repository.
what's going to happen to my Draft?
when I launch the Draft again, will it use the new version or old version of the XDP?
    2) launch a process, starts the workflow,
    before the workflow completes,
(say, it has 5 user tasks, only 3 users have processed it)
I update the process map and/or the forms.
will that unfinished process instance follow the new workflow map? or the old?
    3) when there are unfinished 'running' process instances in the system,
    I deactivate the process.
what's going to happen to those unfinished instances?
will they still be able to complete?
    4) when there are unfinished process instances in the system,
but I don't want anybody to launch any new instances from WorkSpace,
    how do I do that?
do I remove its "TaskManager" endpoint? or?
    thanks
    James

1)Itll re-render the form so it will take the latest version from the repository.
2)It will follow the original process. Only initiating new processes will follow new process map. As for the forms, the new version will take effect immediately.
3a)what's going to happen to those unfinished instances?
Theyll stay in a running state in the database
3b)will they still be able to complete?
Not until you re-activate the process.
4)Yes you can remove/disable the endpoint.
