Copying a project into development component project

hiii,
I have a webdynpro project called DP_OrderEntry developed in NWDS 7.0.9. I need to copy it into development component dc_OrderEntry in NWDS 7.0.14.
Can anyone tellme the steps for doing it?
Can any error can crop up due to the difference in the versions?

the project is imported but I am getting an error:
Error The project was not built since its classpath is incomplete. Cannot find the class file for com.sap.security.api.IUser. Fix the classpath then try rebuilding this project. LocalDevelopmentdc_oentrlntinfotech.com
Is this because the project i copied from was on NWDS 7.0.9 and currently this project is on NWDS 7.0.14 ??
I have already done 'repair project structure and classpath'
How to eradicate dis error??

Error while building development component project

Hi all,
I have created one webdynpro application in which i am importing javabean model using jars in my build path.I am able to execute that application successfully but when i try to import that application in a new development component project, i am getting errors in my bean class (IPrivateBeanclassname) for some getter setter methods saying the method is not defined....
I have put the same jar in its build path also.
Can somebody please help...

Hi,
I am importing the application as follows:
1) I have developed a web dynpro project. This project has a jar file for getting the java classes. The web dynpro application works fine.
2) I imported this application into a Development Component Project. Here it fails to recognize the jar file that is required. Even if I put the jar file in its build path, while building, the jar file gets removed.It says java build path errors.

Error while creating the development component project

i tried to create development component project through NWDS which is expected to be used as CallableObject but it gave following exception
Plugin name: Web Dynpro Archive Builder
Plugin ID: com.sap.ide.webdynpro.archivebuilder
Class: com.sap.ide.webdynpro.archivebuilder.project.WebDynproDevelopmentComponentProjectWizard
Method: createProject(String, IPath, IProgressMonitor)
Message: Invalid project description.
Exception: org.eclipse.core.internal.resources.ResourceException: Invalid project description in plugin name
I am using NWDS 7 version and using J2EE engine of NetWeaver 2004s server.

What DC project are you talking about. You require SAP NWDS to create a DC.

Webdynpro Development Component project error

Hi All,
I am trying to use a DC1(Development Component) in another DC2 component, but when i am trying to deploy and run the application of DC2, which use the DC1 component. It is giving error like below.
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/hp/dc1/wdp/InternalDc1Comp1 (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)
Can anybody help me in solve out this.

Hi Ravi,
This problem is not with the DC you are creating. This exception can occur when the source is compiled on one version of JDK that is not supported by JDK attemting to run it. In your case your DC was built targeting only JDK 1.5, but the Portal server JDK might be 1.4 or different then JDK 1.5.
You can check the JDK version of the server and if its other than JDK 1.5 then installed the same version on your machine to compile the code.

How to copy a project from MBP to Mac Pro without media

Explanation:
Our Director takes all the video interviews, imports this media into a Mac Book Pro (FCP X 10.1.1), creates a Project, makes his audio selects, and edits the video onto the timeline. Then he copies the Project to a portable hard drive.
In the meantime, we have imported all the media into our main edit station, a Mac Pro. Now we plug in the portable drive, open that Library, and copy the Project with the video interview selects to our main Event with all the media on the Mac Pro.
The problem is ... the media of the interview selects is also copied. Then we have duplicate media in our Event. With the previous version of FCP X, we could copy over the timeline without media, then reconnect it.
Any solutions? A better way?

For your particular workflow to be successful, the media needs to be stored outside the Library (External Media). It is important that the media that is being shared is identical on all drives or computers. Media that you import into a specific library is stored inside the library and is referred to as managed media. Media can also be imported or copied to any location on a connected volume and linked to the library as external media. Multiple users can access this external media instantly on shared storage, including a storage area network (SAN) such as Xsan, Apple’s SAN file system.
Page 16-18 includes suggested workflows for collaborating with other editors. The Transfer Library option on page 18 may work well for your particular situation:
To hand off new events to a working library using a transfer library
Another way to hand off new events to a working library on shared storage is to create an intermediate library, or “transfer” library. For example, an assistant editor can create a transfer library containing new events to be handed off to the primary editor, and then copy the new events from the transfer library to the primary editor’s working library.
1. On the system you want to transfer from, select the events you want to hand off.
2. Choose File > Copy Events to Library > New Library.
3. In the window that appears, type a name for the new library, navigate to a location for the new library, and click Save.
4. If you want to include optimized or proxy media in the new transfer library, select the appropriate checkboxes in the window that appears, and click OK.
5. In the Libraries list, select the newly created library and choose File > Close Library.
6. On the destination system, open the new transfer library by choosing File > Open Library > [library name], and drag the updated events to the working library.
Note: Motion templates are not managed as assets within the library but are instead stored in ~/Movies/Motion Templates/. If a project is dependent on custom titles or other Motion templates, these must be handed off separately. Placing updated Motion templates in a central location on shared storage as a last step in any handoff process guarantees that all editors working on a project can access the templates at any time.

How can i copy multiple projects that reference one event without having to duplicate the event over and over for each project?

Each project has compound and regular media in them, and every time i attempt to duplicate the projects and have them reference one event on the new drive the rest of my media shows up missing and will not reconect. Wondering if anyone has had to tackle this problem. I have a limited amount of space on my Drobo thunderbolt drives and need to optomize it. Thank you

So i called apple and after a few hours on the phone and them taking control of my computer they pretty much told me they had never seen this before and were sorry they couldnt assist in any way. The long explination is that i work for a company that films their footage in one long take and then sends it to me to cut into segments, i then have to copy these small edits which are all in different projects and the one large event over to a new hard drive to give to a guy to put titles on and then send back to the company. when i do this copy of project final cut X forces me to also duplicate the event leaving me with "event" (fcp1) and so on depending on how many projects there are. When i dont duplicate event and project together the whole project shows up as missing media and final cut X does not recognize that the original footage is being lost and therefor i am not even given the oportunity to reconect media. I have tried all conventional ways of copying and transfering and have an extensive background in editing and have never come across this, but then again this is final cut X and something that i try and stray away from if i have a choice in systems.
to answer Tony im using copy project and event because it is the only option that works (copy project and used media works as well but only creates more confusion with having to rename files) I would prefer to be able to just copy the first project and event and then be able to source the rest of the project files from the first event i copied over.

Copy to Project Folder?

When I link to an external file that's located on another
drive, I'm giving the option to copy that file
into my project folder.
If I say yes, then the copy in the project folder is
accessed.
But if the original file is changed, the two will be out of
sync.
Is there anyway for RoboHelp to automatically resync these
files?
Also, I would've guessed if the file is copied into the
Project folder, its contents would show up on a search,
but I guess that's not the case...unless I'm doing something
wrong?
I'm using WebHelp for my primary layout.

No you cannot keep the two in sync. In theory you could
create an external link but RH would likely "correct" it so that
the path is relative in the source. You would then need to output
to a folder at the same level as the source projects rather than to
the !SSL! folder. Finally that path would have to hold true
wherever the help is run.
The likelihood of that breaking is pretty good!
BTW. The problem is not the fact the document is on a
different drive, just that it is external to the project.
On searching, no RH does not search the target of links.
There's an article about ZoomSearch on my site and that can work on
documents inside the project.

VP1 id/password is not working when I was trying login into datamover after running pt849tls.dms, pslanguages.dms, & tlsupgnoncomp.dms in bootstrap mode. I verified VP1 id is available in psoprdefn. Please let me know why VP1 stopped working as usual and how to fix this issue.

Copying template project

hello all,
We are trying to copy our template project which holds the complete business process structure including all content and documentation in our production system, to safeguard our template project. The target project type is also a template project. If we copy the template project with transaction solar_project_admin, we cannot get into the copied template project. We receive the next error message the "process structure doesn't not exist" and SAP refers to the SOLAR_GEN_* batch job, which didn;t run correctly. If we copy the template project in our test environment we don't have any problems. Only thing is that in the source template project in the template tab of project administration, the number of templates is growing each time we do a copy template project.
It seems that it is not possible to copy templates in production and probably that is why no process structure is created in the target template project.
Does anybody come across this issue?

Hi Srini,
If you want to copy your template project e.g. for saveguarding your template project, you can copy the template project by using the transaction solar_project_admin. It is only possible to copy template to template.
The moment you copy the template project the assigned templates will be copied because they need to be unique. The background batch job does copy these assigned templates and will name the template an unique name e.g. template1.
For copying these templates you need to open your customizing otherwise the background job cannot copy the templates.

Copy FCP Project File to Another Computer - Version of FCP

I just started using the Media Manager, and it works great for copying RAW footage, and proejct files to another computer.
Just wondering;
In the tests I've conducted, the Project File got copied just fine to a system that contained the same FCP Version (5.1), as the source drive/system.
If I copy Raw Media and a Project File to another system that has version 6, will I be able to re-copy it back into my version; 5.1?

Can this 'XML file' behave like an ordinary edited clip in the timeline? Can it be edited? Or will this 'XML file' be an un-editable movie type file when placed back on the timeline in 5.1?

Copy SDK project folders

I've been making copies of some of the example programs and modifying them for
different learning exercises. I make a duplicate of the whole folder then rename it.
But when I launch the program in the iPhone simulator it keeps the old program name and just rewrites the old one. I tried renaming the app target name and that didn't fix the problem. I tried renaming the executable file name and that didn't solve this either.
Anyone know what's the best way to copy a project and have a completely different project to show up in the simulator?

There's no support in Xcode for changing the name of a project, so a complete change is time consuming. As you'll see, the project name gets into places you never wanted to know about.

My procedure is intended to cover every detail since I needed to change the name of an app that was already in the store. I don't think you'll need to cover all those bases just to rename your test projects. I'd recommend doing the whole procedure one time just to see that it works, then decide which changes don't matter to you.

Maintain DV widescreen format when copying iMovie project back to tape

Using iMovie HD 5.0.2 and copying a project back to tape via the camcorder, but the 16:9 widescreen format gets squeezed into 4:3 ratio. Not sure if this is fixable. In the Preferences, I turned off the auto pillarboxing under Import, but did nothing as I suspected. In Playback checking Play DV project video through to DV camera also yielded no change.

Delete project A that's been copied to project B

Can I delete project A that I have copied to project B now project AB, to free up HD space?
Is it possible to import dv footage from a camcorder into an existing project without affecting the project other than lengthening it?

1) an iM project stores all needed data within the project file.. so, after copying A into B, you can erase A ...
2) sure. select in iM prefs, to import into the clippane, and your edited timeline is untouched...

Copying IDVD project?

I have a 12 minute IMovie that I need to burn to a DVD. It's all set to go, but I don't have a superdrive. BUT: I have two Mac-using friends who do have superdrives. So the question: how do I copy the DVD project from one computer to another? Best to copy the movie itself and then reconstruct the DVD project, or can the whole DVD project (plus the movie) be copied whole? I suspect it's not a simple drag/drop operation...but I could be wrong. Any thoughts?

In iDVD, there is an option to save your project as a project archive. Meaning, normally the iDVD project file is rather small because it references the files it needs elsewhere on your hard drive, like in your iMovie project. If you copy this project file to another computer, it won't work because all the other associated files needed get left behind.
So to get around that, Apple has provided the option to save as a project archive which takes all the files, music, photos, etc. required to make the DVD and puts them all into a project archive file that can now be easily transferred to other computers. Keep in mind that because it will contain everything it needs including the movie files, it can end up a very large file (e.g. 13+ gigs for a one hour movie).
