if it does not work in my pc then its not fit for its purpose
is there any point in you trying it in yours again, will this further testing
be of any value to either side
i only kept it when niether would boot in my nforce one because one of your
guys assured me it would be fine in my nforce 2 board and what ever happened
you would sort it out as it was covered for life
if any attempt is made to charge me further  for your none working goods i
will regard it as theft
and i wish to now return both these dimms and take my bussiness else were
please forward this to your mr daniel leighs who i understand is in
charge, but does not talk to customers on the phone at all, this i find most
strange

My MSI 875P Neo (Rev. 1.0) does not recognize the correct timings for my Corsair XMS 3200 PRO CL2 2-2-5 not recognized automatically. On all other boards it works, why is this the case ?

I think now I understand your problem. OK, this is a long known MSI BIOS problem and until now no fix identified. Please leave with it for the MSI BIOS to override your RAM SPD default settings. Anyway, running with MAT enabled will give the same if not faster RAM performance though. Try that out and compare with other boards.

  • MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R/P4 2.4C/Corsair XMS 3200 Overclock Settings?

Sorry to bother everyone.  I'm going to be switching out my Intel 865PERL cause it only offers a 4% overclock, so I'm barerely scratching 2.5Ghz.
Plus, the funky lights on the MSI board will go nice with my all-red lit case.  Anyway, back to the matter at hand:
All I've really been able to find online is information geared towards the 865 Neo-FIS2R model and overclocking, plus the stuff on the Corsair XMS PC3200 seems to all be posted prior to JEDEC approving the 3200 standard.  So all the overclock info is back when they were using the XMS 3200 with AMD processors and overclocking to reach 400FSB or a bit higher.
I was hoping to get my 2.4C Ghz w/800mhz FSB up to a good 2.7Ghz, maybe even 3.0Ghz.  And I want to bump up my DDR as well (I assume I'll have to anyway, and lock my multipliers on the PCI and AGP ports?)  I have an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro All-In-Wonder.
I wasn't sure what I should set the DDR to (I have 2x256MB modules that will run in dual-channel)
I use Artic Silver III or 5 Thermal Paste, and I have six case fans (one top blowhole, one side window, two front intake, two rear pushing air out, plus PSU, CPU, northbridge, etc.)
While I've built systems for quite a few years now, I'm fairly new to overclocking and wasn't sure where I should begin?  Thanks for any help with settings advice!

Alright, while I wait for the new memory to arrive, I decided to get a headstart on my first overclocking attempts.
I installed the new PSU and set to work.  Here is where I ended up:
    BIOS SETTINGS
    DRAM=333mhz (underclocked 400mhz DDR)
    Spread Spectrum=Disabled
    CPU Clock=224
    AGP/PCI= 67.01/33.50
    CPU VCore = 1.5250V
    DDR Voltage= 2.50V
    AGP Voltage = 1.60V
This setup is stable insofar as it gets my system to boot into windows.  I haven't done much else with it as of yet.
If I try a 225 CPU Clock then my system won't boot and I have to clear the CMOS.  I tried this with my DDR at 266 and 333 (and it's 400mhz rated and has worked at the speed just fine before, so I don't think it's the Corsair XMS stuff)
Do I need to increase the Voltage to my CPU in order for this to work or is there something else I'm missing?  I figured I should be able to get this 2.6 up to 3.0 easy, and was hoping to shoot for somewhere between 3.2 and 3.7 if possible.
My CPU is labeled Malaysia, and I've heard those tend to overclock pretty well.  Inside my case the heatsink is cool to the touch, as are my hard drives.  Sound Card is a bit warm, but nothing crazy.  My ATI card is pretty hot though, although the increase from 66 to 67.01 on the AGP port shouldn't be too bad, and from what I recall this sucker was always hot anyway.

  • Who can OC K8N w/ Corsair XMS TwinX 3200LL PT?

    Howdy all,
Who has been able to OC their K8N with this memory?
    Corsair TwinX XMS 3200LL PT
And how high have you been able to OC the FSB (HTT)?  I believe the memory divider does not work with this memory.  I'd love to be proven wrong.
I can get it up to 215 completely stable, 220 semi-stable (crashes during games) at 1:1.
Setting memory to 166 or 133, I can only go up to 225 - 230 fsb.
    Thanks.

Normaly this ram must be better than this result above, according Corsair, this ram must be up and stable up to 250 mhz at setting 2.5.3.8.3 and vmem 2.88.
This test was done and certified with mobo Asus.
I think the probleme don't come from this memory, because this ram corsair is usualy very good and we know that.
Unfortenetly we mets some difficults with Nvidia nForce 3 compatibility or drivers are not more efficient.....
Or the mobo MSI seem's not compatible so well ...
Then it sounds more like a K8N problem then a memory problem which is what I thought.  I guess I'll keep looking at new MBs.

  • K8N Neo-FSR nForce3 - Corsair XMS memory running at wrong speed

I have a mobo mentioned in the title. The problem is with upgrading the memory - I've recently bought a 1GB memory stick to go with the 2 existing 512kb memory sticks to make up a total of 2GB, the maximum allowed by this mobo.
The problem is if I have all 3 sticks installed i.e. 2GB the memory will only run at 166mhz/DDR333. If I have just the 1GB stick installed it runs at 200mhz/DDR400. If I have the 2 x 512mb sticks installed it runs at 200mhz/DDR400. If I have have the 1GB and 1x512mb stick, either one, in either socket, it runs at 200mhz/DDR400. BUT if I have all 3 sticks installed it only runs at 166mhz/DDR333.
Does anyone know whats going wrong and how to fix it?  ??? The memory sticks are all Corsair XMS 3200C2PT 400mhz sticks. The bios version I'm not sure of, I updated the Bios after I built the PC a year and a half ago but I havn't done it since I'm worried about something going wrong (bad flash = dead PC) etc. The stick timings are all 2-3-3-6 I've tried it with the "auto" setting in the Bios and setting the timings manually but the result is the same.

Quote from: Stick on 08-March-06, 17:08:07
you might try different timings on the memory, something like 3-4-4-8. there is technically one way to pass this issue and that is by overclocking. you can OC your CPU till the memory will run at 200mhz (i think FSB should be 240 in this case if i'm not mistaken)
I'm not very up on o/c'ing.. in fact I know next to nothing about it. How would I do that without damaging anything?
Quote from: Apple renegade on 08-March-06, 18:05:33
Not sure about the nForce S754, but the via ones had no way to run on DDR400 using 3 sticks.
Doesn;t it say in the manual ?
    It does so here:
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=571
Sorry, where? I can't see any mention of it. According to the manual and on the website it ought to be compatible:

  • Corsair XMS CMX512-3200LLPT

Has anyone gotten the Corsair XMS CMX512-3200LLPT memory to work with the K8t neo? I currently RMA'd the motherboard to MSI, and got a brand new board, but I am unable to get a post.  When I first started it, it posted, but when I turned it off to connect other components, it did not post again.

    LOL! By corsiar
Yess corsair sees lot of s*it but not all is true.
Can wouder way the box I got  whit 2x 512Mb PC3200ECC/REG modules hade a big label stating that this memory is designed for AMD athlon FX-51. The mems is the most unstable s*it you can get for a FX or opteron CPU. Many fot them are unstable acording to tests and lot of people at corsairs forum cant even boot whit them. Corsair can stick there mems some where.
    Thay are full whit c*ap.
Kingston seems to work for moste people what I can se.
i use it 100% stable like some at corsairs forum that replased there corsair sticks that made ther system refuse to boot.

  • Corsair XMS Question

ok so currently i have 512MB of Corsair XMS C2 and was wondering if my board would play nice with another stick of the same stuff. I got a goot price on it right now. The reason i am asking this is i have had bad experince with going over 512MB on my DDR systems.
First Try = Fried memory Module
Second Try = Huge Memory Errors.
Third Try = Hoping it to work.
I currently have the following setup
    OCZ 420 Watt PSU
    Neo Platinum (S754)
    A64 Winchester 3000+
    4 HD
    1 Optical
    Raedon 9800 Pro
    512MB Corsair XMS C2

ok so the reasoning for the way i bought my memory.
    A. didn't have enough cash at the time to buy 1gb of corsair.
    B. I have a S754 A64 so it only has a single channel memory controller so spending money on dual channel kits would be a waste of money. But i think once i get my paycheck i'll be able to afford the additional 512MB of memory.
If your interested i am getting it for around $134 Canadian.

  • Corsair XMS and Neo2 Platinum

Ok, here the situation. I have recently put together a new system.  My RAM (Corsair XMS PC3200C2 DDR400) is being read as DDR333.
Do anyone know how I can fix this?
    Here's the specs:
    MSI K8N2 Platinum
    Athlon64 3500+ (S939)
    Corsair XMS CMX1024-3200C2 (2x512)
    BFG 6800GT OC

update your bios to ver 1.2 or above - worked for me
Otherwise u could also try the following
Set memory speed to 200Mhz in Cell Menu (In the BIOS)
Try using slots 1 & 2 for memory
Try setting the default voltage a bit higher.
I think the best thing to do is boot from ONE memory stick - Update BIOS - then stick the second memory stick back in.
hope this helps - if u still have trouble try running memtest on each individual stick

  • Memory settings? Corsair XMS Extreme - Cas Latency: 2-3-2-6 T1

I've been trying to make sense out of the memory settings in the Bios. I read a bunch of posts but I'm still a little confused...
    Here is my memory:
    2x512Mb DDR400 - Corsair XMS Extreme - Cas Latency: 2-3-2-6 T1
    TWINX1024-3200LLPT
    on MB: K8T NEO-FIS2R
what should be the settings as well as voltage for this?
    bank interleaving
    burst length
    CAS (CL)
    TRCD
    TRAS
    TRP
    right now I have:
    CAS: 2
    TRCD: 4
    TRP 2
    DDR Volts 2.65
    thanks
    TZ

I'm running the same memory as you are with a different colored heat spreader, Corsair XMS 3200LL.  My system has worked fine from day one with the standard SPD settings that are 2-3-2-6-1T at the default voltage.  Unfortunately, Corsair is really hit or miss since all the BH5 chips are gone.  Our RAM is built on CH6 chips (assuming v1.2 RAM).  There's a great Athlon 64 Special Report on setting RAM timings for the Athlon 64 on Mushkin's website.  Luckily, I haven't had to change anything, but the article may help you out.

  • Corsair XMS 3500 + MSI 865PE Neo2 = :(

I have no clue what to do now. I just upgraded my 2500+ Barton and Nforce2 board. I ordered a MSI 865PE Neo2-s , 2 sticks of Corsair XMS 3500 memory and a P4 2.4c.
However, when I install the memory, it refuses to post, but with PC2100 memory (@266 ) it posts and continues to run windows. I manually set the timings for the corsair memory, and set it to 333. Nothing.
This board has the orginial 1.0 bios and I was thinking of trying the 1.1 or 1.2. Other wise I will have to get another board, and I am tight on cash, after buying all this stuff.
    Anyone????

  • Corsair XMS works fine

Well, after reading this forum and its warnings about Corsair RAM with K8T and reading the Corsair website where they recommend their XMS C2 modules for that board, I bought 1G TWINX3200C2 (2 512MB sticks). According to the Corsair website, this is rated at 2.5-3-3-6 for AMD. I plugged it in to my new system with a Newcastle 3400 and it booted fine at auto settings (CAS3). I modified it to 2.5 with no problems, then I thought I'd be a bit experimental and I've set it to 2-2-2-5 and that's what it's running on now with no problems. (I haven't figured out this 1T/2T business yet - wasn't able to see anything that corresponds in the BIOS setup!) So thanks Corsair! I saved heaps by not getting the XL modules, but I can still run with those timings!

can you point to where they suggest the C2 version over the LL version for this board??  I have only been advised by them to buy LL versions . . which I have yet to do.
in your sig, can you give your complete rig?

  • -Xms -Xmx /  Problem increasing plugin memory

    A very interesting problem..
    On a Win2000 Professional m/c with plugin versions 1.3.*,1.4.*, IE 5.5
I am trying to extend the memory 768M to 1G by doing
    -Xms768M -Xmx1024M
I tried different combinations of max and min heap size.
Anything more than a 256M makes the browser crash. Sometimes that happens even for 256M.
    Any idea??
I would greatly appreciate any inputs.
    Thanks
    aabr.

I have been having this same problem with an application we deploy for about 2 years! I've never been able to find out what exactly the problem is... Now, we are moving to WebStart, I thought getting away from IE would be a good way to get away from this problem, but WebStart also crashes when using "certain" values for -Xms and -Xmx
What do we do now, I know there must be lots of people with this problem. I'll open a new POST on the WebStart forum, since it happens on it also.
I really want to get this problem fixed.

  • Corsair XMS 3700 1024 matched pair

Hey all I just wanted to remind everyone that is using this memory that it is a HIGH latency memory and is supposed to run at 3-4-4-8-8..
I was having memory timing problems until I checked out Corsair's site and read the recomended memory timings. I can now run in Ultra Turbo if I manually set these timings and can achive a good and very stable front bus speed. I currently have it running at 240 with a stock 3.0C P4. and my DRAM voltage at 2.7
    3D Mark 03 = 6420
    3D Mark 01 se = 18,751

    Thunder, you're lucky can get 2-2-2-5 @ 215MHz.
Mine only to 209 (Ultra Turbo), however even without PAT, I remember (if I'm not wrong) it's still limited to 209, and I need 2-3-2-5 for 215.
    But, it's go to 250 with 2.5-3-3-5  .
And yes, it's started with 2.75v.
Chaplin, try vdimm from 2.75v (but I think you won't go more if you're not oc-ing).
According to Corsair it should run on 2-3-3-6 at DDR400 (it's said those Registered RAM is specially designed for Athlon FX, but I'm sure it will run on i875 too).

  • P35 Platinum Corsair C4 Memory problems

Just recieved my brand new P35 Mboard, E6850 CPU, 4Gb Corsair XMS2 6400C4 Ram.  Imagine my horror when the system wouldn't even POST!!!  Took out two ram sticks and eventually got to bios. Changed the date & time and rebooted, would POST. Had to clear the CMOS to get to bios again.  However it will not POST every time.  The board came with v1.3 bios installed.
Is this a familiar problem? Based on all the various thread I have read lots of people have experinced the same.  Should I flash the bios to v1.1, but will that support my E6850?
Or can I try some C5 ram, manually change settings and replace with my new ram running at C5 clock speeds?
    Please help!!!!

    Read this thread plz https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=110887.0
As it seems is the AUTO setting for the RAM. At least thats the case for the 1.4b3 version but I think its why all bioses from 1.2 and up have problems with ram.
Just set the ram divider manually don't let the AUTO setting.
    Hope that helps
