Cost center creation in Batch

Hi All,
I need to create lot of cost centers. Is there any way to create them in batch. If there is a way, please let me know step by step procedure for the same. Thanks in advance.

There is no readymade document for cost center.
The logic is one and the same. You need to complete the following steps:
Please take help from ABAPer.
In recording you have to complete the following steps:
Maintain Object Attributes
Maintain Source Structures
Maintain Source Fields
Maintain Structure Relations
Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules
Maintain Fixed Values, Translations, User-Defined Routines
Specify Files
Assign Files
Read Data
Display Read Data
Convert Data
Display Converted Data
Create Batch Input Session
Run Batch Input Session (Takes you to SM35)

Cost Center Creation - Manual/LSMW

Hi Experts .....
We are trying to create the cost center data using the tcode PP02, in infotype 1001, subtype A 011. when the record is manually created, relevant cost centers are displayed in infotype 0001 (Organizational Assignment). But the same transaction, when run by an LSMW, infotype 0001 is not updated. However, in PO13, cost center relationship is created in both the cases.
It would be great if some one can suggest the solution for uploading the cost centers for bulk data.

Definitly it should work.
Suppose if you are changing the CC for a position first it should delimit the dates and then is should add new CC to that posiiton.
check the LSMW agian whether it is correct or not.
OR, try to create the CC through PPOS_OLD and slece the position GOTO Account assignment.
then Select the position GOTO master CC and give the CC which you want to use with dates. which intun updates the PP02 -- Position, CC relationship also. if you want you can check.

I Want to send a email to my officials when i entered the data and click a saved button in KS01 after or before creating Cost Center..

The package for ks01 is KBAS.
In this u have exit COOMKS02 before saving.
So write logic to send mail in the function module of this user exit which is triggered before saving.

Cost center creation prefix with 0000000(zeros)

Is there any way to creat cost center prefix with 0000(Zeros).I have created cost center called 0000012345 and when i saved this data 0000 were discapperd.Is there any way to create cost center with prefix Zeros(0000000)

SD data in cost center creation.

Hi Gurus,
I have got a request to create a cost center wherein the user has mentioned to create the SD data also. For which he has mentioned the Business Unit code.
I need to understand what is created in this process and how. I have fair understanding that this is done to book all the costs of a particular BU to the new cost center created. But do not know the process of it.
Please explain.

Org managament -Cost Center- Position

Hi Experts,
There is a clarification required, I am creating Jobs,Positions from 01.01.1900 upto 31.12.9999 and the FI consultant has created his Cost centers mentioning the date as 01.04.2009. As se says that I need to mantain the cost center creation dates only 1 year prior to GO-LIVE date.
Now the problem is when I am creating one of the Positions in the Account Assignment tab details and its Cost distribution tab in Org Managment with PPOCE transaction, by assigning the positions relevent Cost Center where he falls to....the system throws and error stating that Cost Center not maintained on 01.01.1900 as it is the matter of that cost centers have been created only from 01.04.2009.
So, now can any of you let me know how myself and FI consultant need to resolve this issue?

Now If I create the Jobs & Position of the date from which Cost Centers have been created in my case 01.04.2009, will I be able to hire an employee with the created Jobs & Positions with previous date like for example an employee is working with Organization from 01.01.2003 till date as when I do hiringaction, system asks me for joining date, so mentioning his joinning date as 01.01.2003 and maintain all the Org data with Account Assignment, Cost Distribution as per the relevent dates.

Cost center catogery

why we are giving cost center catogory at the time of cost center creation. what are the impact will come due to assigning cost center category. now we have give Categary T for all cost center. now we anted to create cost center for each and every department to see indivudial expenses. for that what categary i have to give from the following and what is the use to give catergory

The master data of an activity type includes one or more cost center categories. The activity type may be used only by cost centers of the appropriate categories (for all those cost centers with that Cost Center Category)
For example, you created two Cost Centers A and B. In A's master data, Cost Center category is "P"(Production) and B's master data, Cost Center Category is "M"( Maintenance).
Now, you are creating the master data for Activity Type "labour Hr". In that master data, you need to mention the Cost Center Category. If you give "P" there, that means that Activity Type can be linked (planning in KP26) to Cost Center "A" only....
We define categories in Customizing. For each category, we can define default values for the "Lock" and "Record quantity" indicators, for transfer to cost center master data. We need to maintain these indicators only if the entry diverges from the default cost center category.
In addition, we may use the categories for reports and evaluations.
Examples
Production cost center
Service cost center
Administration cost center

I see. but if I setup profit center hierachy first, then I got to redo the same for Cost Center. I thought I could do the Cost center first, then copy them to profit center since there's a "copy cost center group" function in profit center accounting.
Can I deactivate the profit center accounting since each time I skip the profit center entry during cost center creation, the following message pop up?
"Profit Center Accounting active but no profit center specified (CCtr 1110)"

Is there any option that system propose sequential internal code at the time of cost center creation?
Now you are aware if you create cost center through KS01 you can put anything for cost center code. Do you don't think some control should be there like GL master creation?

If you are usng BW - better develop the report from there... Else, ABAP is the only solution
Note that there is no correlation between Plant & Cost center except work center... Hence, Plant as an Input parameter in a cost center report is not possible.... Thats why, people prefer to have a cost center nomenclature that reflects the Plant No as well i.e. say 1st 4 chars of a Cost center name can resemble plant

LSMW - Cost Center Upload

Hi Gurus,
Any idea on what BAPI should we use on uploading Cost Center using LSMW? Currently we are using a BAPI with the following characteristics:
Business Object    BUS0012      Cost Center
Method                   CREATEMULTIPLE
Message Type       COSTCENTER_CREATEMULTIPLE
Basic Type             COSTCENTER_CREATEMULTIPLE
Unfortunately on step 4 - Maintain Structure Relations, we are encountering an error "No target structures could be found" upon executing it. It seems that the selected bapi has no export parameter/structure.
Any suggestions for the approach should we use?

Cost Center Date format Issue.

Hi,
All Experts.
I am facing one problem for Cost Center creation date.
I am working for US and Canada company code. controlling area is having 30 Group Currency. CO area is completely configured and working fine.
At the time of cost center creation when I am giving period interval 09.10.1900 to 12.31.9999 MM - DD - YYYY format.
But it is giving error as
Invalid date Message no. 00064
All Company Codes are perfect and having country US so, as I understand date format is taken from countries defined in SAP General Settings & countries for CRM and etc..
Where my configuration went wrong ?
I am wondering in Controlling Area for any settings for Date format but fail...
Does any one having idea for this ?
Expert guidance will be really really great on this.
I questioned that has SAP given a US date format for controlling or not ?
Like for Cost Center & Cost Element ... etc.

Please check the settings in OY01.
As per it, you must either use MM/DD/YYYY or MM-DD-YYYY and not MM.DD.YYYY.
Also check the "Defaults" in the user settings (T.code SU3).
