Could I create outline from an OTL file?

I save an OTL file by an outline. Then when I create a new application and a new database, could I create outline from the existed OTL file?

Yes, the easiest way is to open the OTL file with application manager (or EAS), and use the "File", "Save As" menu option, then choose the server, application, and database to overwrite. Some caveates regarding data restructuring -- provided you choose to restructure without maintaining data, or you have no 'significant' changes to the outline, you should be all right. The DataBase Administrators Guide has further details on saving/overwriting outlines, but it usually comes down to common sense items (i.e., deleted members will lose data, renamed members may lose data if there is no way to link the new member to the old, etc). A lot of additional details and caveates can be mentioned here, but if the changes are minor, or you clear the database to reload it, you are fine.

I am installaing 4.7EE on Sun Solaris 5.9 SPARC with Oracle and JDK version is 1.4.2_08. When i am running sapinst, sapinst GUI opens and after when i am selecting the Central installtion and i click on Next it giving error message that

Hi Kiran,
I have given all permissions to the control file. But these control files are in different places /SAPINST/UNIX/SUNOS_64/PATCOL640/WEBAS630 and ORA, DB2, DB6, IND, INF, ADA in these folders i can c the Control.xml files. But i have given all read write and execute permissions but still its getting the same error. I have downloaded the same IM for 3 times and tried.. But the result is the same.
Is there any other way of work around for this...

Creating Outline from textPath

Going follow one of first sentence from "Adobe_intro_to_scripting" which says:
...Each scripting item corresponds to a tool or a palette or menu item in an Adobe application...
I am trying to discover how to reach effect which is obtained from InDesign UI: menu Text:create outline.
I mean situation when there is some text on path typed (any splineItem as a parent) and is selected as an item (not using text tool).
In UI: to create outline at this point means to create compound path from entire text and to remove a splineItem.
In script code: app.selection[0].createOutlines() gives error, cause this method is not available for splineItem.
One can create outline from text's on path character, word, parentStory, etc, but there are a set of separated characters converted into path and still anchored onto parent splineItem path.
If the goal is to have a compound path from entire text placed on path (keeping formats and effects) is ID UI only way to reach it?

Creating pdf from folders of files & retaining structure

Hi there!
I am hoping someone can tell me how to pdf entire folders of files into one file yet still retain the file structure so that it follows the logical sequence that it is already sitting in.
I have several folders of folders with many hundreds of files in which I'd like to combine into a single file or package yet retain the folder arrangement.Current size of this is around 40-60 MB..
I want to make it into one file so its easier to transfer to customers on a CD yet they need to be able to use a folder structure as some of the files contained have similar names yet are different.
Is this possible?
I've just tried to make them into a package but the damn thing [I'm currently using Acrobat 8 Pro] has jammed the whole lot in willy nilly and the folders are all gone so there are multiple pages with similar names but the structure is all gone....
ie I have a master folder called Consultants, and the sub folder have titles such as Product X, contained in Product X's folder are folders - Data & Drawings, Technical information. Files can be in many different formats but mainly CAD, pdf, word.

I don't really want to have to go all the way thru this file creating bookmarks... I just want it to look like it does on the server - in folders and easily identifiable so that even an idiot could use it & find what they wanted.

You can't do this, a PDF file is exactly that, one file. What you're wanting is the Windows Explorer view of individual files. If you're putting them on a CD just put the master folder on the CD. If you're transferring them via FTP or similar zip the folder first.
You can however when you're using the Combine files feature in Acrobat 8 automatically create bookmarks based on the file names whcih would save you the grief of doing that.

How to not include the path when creating pdf from many html files?

I use "Merge File into a Single File" to create a pdf file from many html files. However, the generated pdf file have the path information of the html files. I'm wondering how to generate a pdf without the path information.

Go to CREATE > Create PDF from Web Page > Click the SETTINGS button on the dialog that follows > Uncheck "Place headers and footers on new page".

How to create outline from perfstat.stats$SQL_PLAN table

How do I create outline (Plan stability in 10gR2database) from perfstat.stats$SQL_PLAN table?
Current V$SQL_PLAN does not contain good but but week older snapshots have good plan.
I can't modify query, it's vendor query so I need to create outline/plan stability.

Can't create outlines from a placed image?

I'm using illustrator and I placed this image:

and no matter what I do, it won't let me select "Create Outlines".

I suspect you're imagining the Create Outlines command does something more than it really does. It is most typically applied to live text to turn it into shapes, and doesn't do much else. It simply doesn't apply to image content. In fact, whenever you see it disabled, that indicates it can't be applied to the object(s) you have selected.

I have a word doc file. (not docx). I have adobe 8 pro. I wrote a word script to create the file using the distiller. The fonts in the pdf file it makes look wacky. That script looks liek this:

I also wrote a script to attempt to print it from the Adobe printer. It seems to work, but when I go to open the created pdf file it I get the following message:
Acrobat could not open mypdf.pdf because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged.

Query on creating "Lead" from the Flat file

I was trying to use the BAPI "BAPI_LEAD_CREATEMULTI" to create the lead.
I have a requirement for creating the Lead... and I have a few questions on creating the Lead like:
1)Does this Lead creation happen with the Business Partners or it has no
in no way connection with the Business Partners?
2)My requirement is that, I need to create leads for the records of the input file
which I get from the User and this looks like this with the fields as:
Sales prospect; Lead group; status; Qualification level; Origin; Priority; contact person; Lead group; status; Qualification level; Origin; and Priority.
(ie., 12 different input fields starting with Sales Prospect to Priority ).
In Sales Prospect, I will give the Business Partner # and also in the Contact Person.
Could you pls let me know how my requriement can be fulfilled( probably with some other code ).
Please give me your valuable suggestions on this to move further. And also, please give me some sample code to build this requirement.

Check the return structure in the BAPI if it contains only success message, then try giving CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT' passing essential parameters immediately after the create bapi call.

Create report from olap .cub file problem

hello,
i am using crystal reports 2008. i tried to create a report based off of the sample sales reports.cub file using the olap cube report wizard.
when i moved the measures dimension to the slice list on the slice/page screen and tried to create a parameter field, i got this message "the table measure could not be found'.
i do not understand how that table could not be found when it is in the .cub file.
i'm hoping that someone can tell me because without getting past this, i can't create the olap report.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I Archived a repository from MDM 5.5 SP4 running on Oracle.
Can I create a repository using that Archived (.a2a) file in MDM 5.5 SP5 running on SQL Server ?
Is it possible to create like that? Note: Database is different and MDM version is different.

Acrobat X Standard does not creates hyperlink from Visio 2003 files ?

I am workin in a big company (5000+ employees) and we just migrated from Windows XP to Windows 7 with Office 2010 and from Acrobat Professional to Acrobat X standard
I am still using Visio 2003 (this is not migrated yet to Visio 2010), and I am not able anymore to generate pdf-files from Visio files with Hyperlinks!
For excel files it works fine.
What do we need to do? is there an extra Visio (2003) Add-In module needed for Acrobat X, or do we need to purchase another Acrobat version?

You will observe that for Vision 2010 (which you'll most likely be migrated to) you must have the PDFMaker asociated with Acrobat Pro X (for 32-bit only - no support for 64-bit Visio).

How to create stereo from multitrack library file?

Hi, I am using some of the sound effects and music form the Library of sounds that comes with STP 3. Many of these are 4 or six tracks, but I would be happier to use the file as a two-track stereo file, since that is much easier to create fades, etc. Is there a quick way to convert these files to stereo with STP or do I need to import them into a different program like Peak?

Any XML genius able to create markers from an EXCEL file?

We are working on a documentary with (surprise surprise) lots of interviews.
Our transcribers create documents in Excel, and I would like to be able to import them into a timeline as markers -- i.e 10:22:00;15 Buddy says 'Why would anyone name their kid Buddy?'
I'd like to be able to have a timeline created with a marker at 10:22:00;15 called: " Buddy says 'Why would anyone name their kid Buddy?' "
so that I can jump from marker to marker in the timeline and read what is being said.
Right now we have the tapes transcribed, and then essentially mark up the source footage with the same information - it seems to me eliminating that step would be of interest to a lot of editors.
Any thoughts? My technical knowledge of XML is close to zero, but from what I have read it seems like it would be the right tool for the job.
