Could I have some help identifying and fixing dead/stuck/hot pixel?

Hello, yesterday whilst watching a movie on my Macbook Pro I noticed something on my screen, at first I thought it was just something stuck on the screen but it seems to be an issue with a pixel. I would appreciate help regarding identifying if it's a dead, stuck or hot pixel and any ways of fixing it. It seems to be smaller than what I had previously experienced (on other machines) dead/hot/stuck pixels to be and I can't really tell if it's white or a light blue. It doesn't show up on any colour other than greys and blacks.
Also, is it likely that taking it to an apple store will yield results if it's still in warranty and I explain that as a photographer it's a very annoying thing to have on almost the centre of the screen.
I hope you guys can provide me with some help, it will be much appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That's a dead pixel or it may be dust, too. In both cases, as your computer is in warranty, take it to an Apple Store or reseller and you should get the display replaced for free, even if it's only one pixel.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's dust. I have seen a lot of cases related to dust in this forum, but it has got the same solution as the dead pixel

Could i have some help please

hi all i hope ive posted in thr right section. here is my question.
i have an x-fi extreme gamer fatality pro series sound card with i/o bay. i have a technics home 5.1 theatre system. i have a playstation 3. and i have a 46" samsung hdtv.
sound card is digital and analogue.
hi-fi theatre system is analogue only with 6ch audio
playstation 3 is digital
samsung tv is digital.
what i want to do is is have all the equipment setup to play dts-hd ma (master audio) now everything apart from the hi-fi can play the dts-hd ma audio but the hi-fi is analogue and can only produce dd (dolby digital) prologic 1 not 2.
here goes (touch wood)
can a decoder such as the ddts-100 made by creative convert my hi-fi from analogue to dts/dts-hd/dts-hd ma and even convert it from prologic 1 to 2.

Hello, I'm back with another problem and if you read the last post you would have realized that I shortened the code. My goal is to replace my spacer and header with a single header that I based my design around. I just can not get this too work with the rest of the document I have had too many attempts. You're not getting any help because your HTML & CSS code is pretty messy. It's like asking an interior designer to make over a very untidy bedroom. It's not going to happen until you clean things up.
I would start with just the basic HTML code like this. Avoid those redundant style10, style19, style108 tags.    You really don't need them. HTML selectors provide you with all the hooks you need for most things. Also, you should run a spell check. I saw errors but I didn't fix them.

Running extremely slow after most recent software update. Would love some help troubleshooting and fixing, thank you!

Hi folks. Since my last software update, my computer has slowed to a near halt. Help!
I have a late 2009 MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.8.2. 2.26 Ghz / 8 gb memory.
I went into the Disk Utility and ran "verify disk," and got an "ok." Verified and repaired disk permissions. No idea if they're relevant.
At this moment the activity monitor is showing 3.79 gb of free memory -- 10 minutes ago, when I was doing nothing particularly differently, it showed all 7.99 gb in use (active and inactive -- I have. No idea what this means.)
It's all beach balls around here, all the time. Any ideas?

Your problem is excessive swapping of data between physical memory and virtual memory.
That can happen for two reasons:
You have a long-running process with a memory leak (i.e., a bug), or
You don't have enough memory installed for your usage pattern.
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination. In Activity Monitor, select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more memory over time without ever releasing it.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details:

I keep getting the message "iTunes has stopped working". May I have some help please to solve this?

Your phone is damaged. Take it in to an Apple store for evaluation and possible out of warranty replacement.

How do I identify and fix images Elements 10 believes are corrupt?

During the past three days I have had problems with the functionality of my Photoshop Elements 10 and received several messages indicating that the catalog is corrupt. How do I identify and fix images Elements 10 believes are corrupt?

Let me provide some more information that may help you diagnose this problem.
I run Elements on a PC. The operating system is Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium. The System Type is x64-based. The processor is AMD A8-3850 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 2900 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s). The Hard Drive is 1.81 TB, and 1.5 TB of this is free. The Ram is 16 GB. Everything else works great.
I have used Photoshop Elements for about 10 years, during which time I have upgraded to newer versions 5 or 6 times. I have used Elements 10 during the past 2 years. I already bought Elements 12 but I am trying to repair this issue before I upgrade to it. I have approximately 65,000 photos in my catalog. All but the last 2,000 are backed up.
During the past few days I encountered several problems with the functionality of my Elements 10; all errors provide messages indicating that the catalog is corrupt. Forexample, when I edit a photo in my catalog, the thumbnail image of the newly edited versionwill not display. When I imported new photos, the thumbnail image would not display. In all cases the photo image was replaced by a ?.
I tried to correct the thumbnail problem by repairing and optimizing the catalog. In either case I received the same message that the catalog had not been repaired/optimized because some images were corrupt. However, despite this message, the thumbnails for the newly imported photos appeared but the thumbnails for the recently edited photos still have not.
Currently, I cannot import new images, edit, delete or even stack photos. I can still view, search for, copy and delete photos. When I try to import a photo a new photo I get the following messages - ”the requested change could not be completed because the current catalog is corrupt. You can attempt a repair in the file catalog dialog." - "Nothing was imported. The file(s) or folder(s) selected to import did not contain any supported file types or the files are already in this Catalog." and "The catalog could not be repaired, if you have a recent catalog backup, you should restore it."
I have visually inspected the catalog and found about 25 recently imported photos that have a thumbnail image but lack the photo's id (i.e. img_3075.jpg would be replaced with ?). They are my photos from my camera and no different that the other 300 images I imported at the same time. However, these images in the catalog are blurry. When I check the image in the My Pictures folder the image is fine and properly located between img_3074.jpg and img_3076.jpg. I attempted to reconnect but received a message that there are no files to reconnect. I cannot delete the images from the catalog and If I delete them at the source (in the file folder) they still remain in the catalog view.
Howdo I identify and fix images that Elements believes are corrupt?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I've got a shopping cart that is working and I'm trying to update the
quantities in inventory by subtracting the quantity ordered from the total
inventory in a table called ITEMS.
I can update a record after a sale in the cart, but right now it is
updating by completely replacing the value of the items in inventory with
the quantity in the checkout cart. So, if there are 800 items, after the
update, there are -1 total in inventory, not 799.
The problem is that I don't know how to coordinate the item(s) in the stored
shopping cart with a call to their ID and quantity in the online database.

I have some long spreadsheets and want to go to the bottom to add new data without scrolling down through all the old entries. When I open a table now it goes to the top row and I have almost 300 rows to scroll through. I would like to set the table up to automatically go to the bottom row.

You have a couple of options. If you use 100% View Zoom, and if you leave a cell selected in the bottom row of the table when you Save and Close the document, it will reopen with that cell in view.
You could also sort your table in the opposite order and add new rows at the top. Then you wouldn't have to worry about what zoom you use. To insert a row at the top, select a cell in the current top row and press Option-UpArrow. That will add a new blank Top Body Row.

Are you trying to log in to ExportPDF from Reader? If so, please make sure that you have the most current version by choosing Help > Check for Updates in Reader. You should be using version 11.0.07 (Mac OS) or 11.0.08 (Windows)--earlier versions caused this sign-in error that you're seeing.

The Intuit rep said they don't "support" QuickbooksPremier on a "virtual machine." Do you know what I risk by using it, anyway? thanks for the advice about Boot Camp vs Parallels, BTW!
I use QuickBooks Pro for Mac, so I haven't had need to try any of the Windows versions in a VM. But I can't think why it wouldn't work. From within the VM, QuickBooks Premier would believe it is operating on PC hardware within Windows.
I would guess they mean that the multiple user support wouldn't work from within the VM. But I would think that would also work. Windows can see the Internet from within the VM, which means it can see your network. So if Windows can see the network, then QB Premier should be able to, too.
I know you can get Parallels as a demo, and maybe you could get QB Premier as trial software. So if you already have a retail copy of Windows to load into a VM, it would only cost you time to test what's possible.

Well, if it is locked with a passcode; the only way for someone to use it would be for them to guess your passcode or restore it as new in iTunes. If they restore it, it wipes out all your information and puts the device back to factory settings.
 if you have iCloud setup; you can go to iCloud.com on a computer and sign in with your Apple Id and Password and you can possible track the device; also give the option to send a sound or message to the device; also you can remotely lock it with a passcode or remotely wipe it to factory settings;
