I don't know what i need. I'am a mac user but i need to run quick books premier. This is the only software i need in windows . Could i have some advise in  what is better for me, Bootcamp or Parallels

The Intuit rep said they don't "support" QuickbooksPremier on a "virtual machine." Do you know what I risk by using it, anyway? thanks for the advice about Boot Camp vs Parallels, BTW!
I use QuickBooks Pro for Mac, so I haven't had need to try any of the Windows versions in a VM. But I can't think why it wouldn't work. From within the VM, QuickBooks Premier would believe it is operating on PC hardware within Windows.
I would guess they mean that the multiple user support wouldn't work from within the VM. But I would think that would also work. Windows can see the Internet from within the VM, which means it can see your network. So if Windows can see the network, then QB Premier should be able to, too.
I know you can get Parallels as a demo, and maybe you could get QB Premier as trial software. So if you already have a retail copy of Windows to load into a VM, it would only cost you time to test what's possible.

Choose the strongest security available on your router, preferably WPA2 using AES encryption and a long complex passphrase with at least 14 characters (the maximum is 63 characters).

  • HT1689 I have had 3 amounts deducted from my credit card in the last 3 days, I don't know what it's for and can't find anything on my account history, can't get a real person in apple to talk to !

3 amounts deducted from my credit card by I tunes E, don't know what they are for, not showing on history also no e mail receipt,
I haven't knowingly bought anything, any ideas what this could be ?

You haven't made any in-app purchases or have any auto-renewing subscriptions ?  If not and you haven't added or changed your credit card details (when you do then a small temporary store holding charge of $1, or the approximate equivalent in your country's currency, may be applied to check that the details are correct and valid, but which should disappear within a few days) then you can contact iTunes Support via this page and ask if they can help identify what they are from : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • I have an Apple charge on my credit card and don't know what it is for?

i Have a charge on my credit card and don't know what it is for.  How can I find out?

You can view your account's purchase history via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store - Apple Support
Or you can view the last 90 days purchases on a browser via http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If it's for $1 or approximate local equivalent then have you changed the card details on your account ? If you have then it's likely to be a temporary store holding charge : iTunes Store & Mac App Store: About payment card authorization holds - Apple Support.

  • I'm trying to re-activate my software because of "repair" issues and don't know what to put for "request code"

I'm trying to re-activate my software because of "repair" issues. I have had it for 6 years and when I logged in today, it suddenly said that I needed to re-activate within 5 days. It won't allow me to do it online due to an error so it said that I needed to call and activate, but then when I called it said to go online to adobe/go/activate, which I did and have entered my serial number, but it also wants a request code and I don't know what to put there. Please help???

The request code is something that PS generates when you ask it to do the Phone activation, right?  Isn't there a choice on PS when you try to activate that is to not do it online and to use a phone call and there is also a button to press to generate a request code.  I don't have any way to try this myself, anymore, but I seem to remember something like that happening long ago.

  • I don't know what to ask for. Need a dialog box for a erorr

Can anyone tell me or show me a sample of code the will allow me to have an error dialog box.
I have a date that when the date format is wrong a dialog box pops up and informs the user of the correct date format.
This is the code that changes the background of the text box to red and stops the user for going on. I would be nice to have a dialog instead.
    void DOBJText_focusLost(FocusEvent e) {
    try
    if (! DOBJText.getText().equals(""))
    SimpleDateFormat df = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/mm/yyyy");

  • HT201320 I use my college's email address through outlook and I don't know what you use for the incoming and outgoing host?

My email is though the college where I work.  We use Outlook, and I am trying to set up my email but I am not sure what to use for my incoming and outgoing host information.

Ask your college. Most likely the same settings as you have set in Outlook.

  • Plugin Check shows status for some of plugins "unknown plugin". Don't know what to look for once I click on "Research" button. How do I know if I have the latest plugins for these?

The reason I checked plugins was that Firefox often took too long to open.

This so called liquid damage that they are reffering
to probably occured when I was working and had my
computer on the desk...someone must have been
drinking a coke cause when I came back there was a
coke can on its side, but not exactly very close to
the computer, and the liquid had seeped underneath
the machine. When I picked the mac up there was
liquid on the bottom of it, but only because those
little useless rubber standoffs they put on the
bottom of these Macbook Pro's was not high enough to
be above the thickness of a water based liquid as it
runs across a desk. At that point I promptly had
unplugged the battery from my computer and the power
cable and dried it all off. From that day no NEW
problems had surfaced, the battery and heat issue
had already existed.I didn't expect that any should
because the liquid had only reached the bottom side
of the computer and it was shut off quickly.
    Where was your desk?
I think you should find the drinker/spiller of the coke.
Getting electronics wet usually kils them, they aren't made water proof or even resistant.
Logic board+super drive+batery=$1200 probably not far off.
Some one owes you 1200 cokes and IMHO it is not Apple.

  • Question about items I found for my iBook that I don't know what to do with

As stated above, I have an iBook that I've had for several years and I cannot use it anymore to go online as routers aren't accepted in my household.  I recently found a plastic bag with a new USB cable, a phone line cable and a new battery Pegatron Model:PB013 with my computer things and I don't know what it is for since I never had occasion to use it.  Can anyone tell me what to do with these things?  I do know that they came with the iBook but at the time we bought it, we were never interested in what it is for.  If anyone can tell me the use for it, I would appreciate it and if there really isn't a use for these items, I will just throw them away.  I would love to be able to go online with my iBook but spouse doesn't believe in routers, says then others can get into your info even though I know that isn't true.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the support community.
First of all, routers are not accepted in your household? So how do you get online?
In order to use broadband Internet you need a router.
You iBook would have been supplied with the following items when it was new.
    1. Power Adapter
    2. Power Cord
    2. Modem Lead (While telephone lead used for dial-up Internet via a phone line)
    3. VGA adapter to allow an external screen to be used.
No USB lead were supplied and the only battery supplied with your iBook would be that attached to the bottom of the iBook. (White)
A USB lead could have been supplied with other devices like printers, scanners, cameras or phones.
There are four ways you can get online with your iBook G4
    1. Connection via Ethernet to a router.
    3. Wireless via installed Airport Card to a wireless router
    4. Dial-up modem (What the white phone lead is for)
    6. USB 3G dongle (Or connection using a cell/mobile phone that's compatible)
    I hope this helps

I don't have a customize shape option in my photoshop CC.  Why is this?  The only shape I can do is rectangle.

You do have to press and hold down the mouse more than a few seconds to see the fly-out menu of other shapes, or use the shortcut shift-u.
If you have already done that. Try resetting the Shape tool. Select it, and in the option bar, right or ctrl-click (Mac) on the icon, choose Reset Tool.
