Could iphone use word,excel file?

I knew that iphone can process .txt and .csv when you had downloaded a Free software (Document). However, i can save as a word file through iphone which i mean .doc. For my purpose, i want to save as word file in my iphone and send it back to my computer. It is helpful for me to complete my assignment.
Second, although i can't use word or excel file, i would like to see the pdf file. Does it support the adobe reader software?
If sb knows anything, please send me an email([email protected]) or reply.Thx a lot!

The iPhone can view pdf files natively. To edit MS Office (Word/Excel), you need an app, such as:

If you upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion, and did not upgrade to Office 2008 or later, that may be part of the problem.  Try LibreOffice, OpenOffice, NeoOffice, Google Docs, or Zoho Docs.  See my FAQ* for link:  http://www.macmaps.com/crossplatform.html

  • 10.9.2 os freezes when quicklook/preview word excel files

    Hi All,
My MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010) recently updated to 10.9.2. And a problem with preview app and QuickLook function occured right after the update, as described here:
It is unalbe to 'QuickLook' MS word and excel files (by pressing spacebar to these files on desktop or those in finder). When doing it, a blank Quicklook window pops out and the small circling thing is showing in the middle, but never showing its content. It can be meanwhile sensed that the Hard Disk freezes exremely and I cannot operate other apps or files while QuickLook is stucking as mentioned about. This also happens in Finder's "preview colonm" by highligting any word or excel files.
Same severe freezing happens when using preview.app to open word and excel files. The preview-app and hard disk will being stuck for a while (roughly one minute) and after that it shows an info. window without displaying file content but only showing file-name&file-type and modified date etc.
The BMP has installed MS office 2011 and it works fine when using office apps to open doc/docx/xls files directly. Only are the freezings found with Preview.app and using QuickLook fucntion.
Can Apple developers/technicians or anyone please check upon this issue and sugguest any solution that I could apply. Reply me if further infomation is needed. Thanks ahead.

    Hi,
I have the same problem. I don't know what cause this, but I can tell you that I tried to reset SMC and VRAM and the problem not was solved. In my case it ocurrs only when the word file have section breaks...
You can look for the "finder web content" process at system monitor ant force its termination. Then the issue should be solved until you try to preview a new word, excel file in finder...

  • Can I globally change a setting so that Word/Excel files open in NeoOffice

We are evaluating the use of open "Office" applications. Is there a global setting that will allow us to force Word & Excel files to open in NeoOffice (and vice versa)? In addition, is there an Import Data feature in NeoOffice or OpenOffice?

I have an iCloud Account that I haven't used in the past. How can I add/delete/retrieve files such as Word & Excel files?

To save arbitrary document types in iCloud on MacOS X 10.9.5 have a look at Winston Churchill's User Tip:
See this link:  Using iCloud to sync multiple document types.
This will work between Macs, but not for mobile devices.

  • How to use a excel file to create a service component?

    Dear all,
I want to use a excel file to create a service to be my data source. I used the wizard to do that but i always got a message. "The data format is not valid, fields in each record must be delimited by tab charactors, and each record seperated by new line charactors". How should I reformat my excel file to fit the requirements? I have already chang the field`s format into 'text' type. Thx ^^

    Hi Louis,
[Here|http://img125.imageshack.us/my.php?image=exceltestlo7.jpg] is the result of your data.  I downloaded your excel sheet and created a simulated service in 7.1.1 and it works fine.
    Below are the steps:
    1. Go to Tools -> service component wizard
    2. The popup opens : Step1 :  Enter the name of your service component
    3. Go to Excel spreadsheet Copy the data for which the service needs to be created.
    4. Step 2 : Paste the copied Excel data in the popup
    5. Step 3 : Define Input -> just click next
    6. Step 4: Define Conditions -> just click finish.
Let me know if it helps.
    Good Luck,
    Dharmi

  • Using an Excel file as a dynamic data source? Opinions needed...

I have posted this topic before, but as always; in order to get the relevant correct answer you have to ask the correct question.
I'm trying to create a number of Pricelists linked to an Excel/CSV file. I have a Excel file that contains Pricelist information which is Product specific.
I have had a number of suggestion that follow:
A direct link to the Excel file. PROs: Excel file can be uploaded on FTP and overwritten if (and when) amended. Linking this is easy peasy in Dreamweaver. Person browsing can download info straight away on request - no hassle. CONs: Simply, not everyone has Excel and those who don't can not access the information.
Import Excel file as tabular data. PROs: Fairly easy to do in Dreamweaver. Person browsing can see info straight away. CONs: Can be time consuming on larger Excel files. NOT amendable (so a number of price changes becomes a big job). Can't simply overwrite Excel file on FTP. Larger Excel files can take a lot of page space and thus require tonnes of scrolling).
Use the Excel file as a dynamic data source. --Not entirely sure how I would go about doing this (any suggestions/links/tutorials etc)-- PROs: ? CONs: Contributor added this suggestion is not a good idea as it performs poorly on the web.
Create a dynamic page using a database and import the Excel file to that....or maintain the price list in the database rather than an Excel file. --Again not entirely sure how I would go about doing this (any suggestions/links/tutorials etc)-- My understanding of this option is that it will require XML data and SPRY work. Is this correct? Can this be someone who is not an advanced user?
If once again, I'm off the mark and better suggestions can be thought - please do so.
As you can see I'm at a bit of a crossroads so an suggestions, comment, help, links, tutorials or applause would be greatly received.
Thanks in advance and looking forward to seeing the comments this throws up!

    Hi
Although not everyone has excel just about everyone can open csv files in some way, if not offer the option to download "open office" which is free for the pc, as for the mac they have a program installed by default to use csv files.
The import tabular data is not really an option for the reasons stated.
Use excel as data source - not a good idea, requires asp.net to work correctly otherwise it does run slow and is not recommended if you are expecting more than a very small number of users.
As for the dynamic with database, this can be done with xml and spry but if you have a large amount of data this is almost as bad as the option above. You are probably better creating a database and importing your excel spreadsheet into this, for tutorials on creating a php/mysql database and set-up of testing server see - http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/application_development.html.
No matter which way you go with the last option it will require a fair amount of knowledge and experience to do correctly, efficiently and securely.

  • Why can't I use word, excel etc after upgrading OS X lion ?

Why can´t I use word, excel etc after upgrading too OS X Lion ?

Office 2004 is a PowerPC app that requires Rosetta to run. Roseeta and thus all PPC aps are not supported on Lion. Further Office 2008's Installer is a PPC app. Office 2008 will run if installed before installing Lion, but you cannot install it from Original Office 2008 Media after installing Lion.

  • Saving & Loading binary (MS Word/Excel) file to Oracle 8i

    Hi,
Can someone point me to the right direction or provide me with some guidance/sample codes on saving binary files such as MS Word & Excel into Oracle and loading the saved files so that it can be accessed/opened/emailed.
    Thanks,
    David

Minimally, you can save the document in a blob and the mimetype
in a varchar2 column. This can be done in PL/SQL with the PL/SQL
    gateway like:
    http://technet.oracle.com/sample_code/products/intermedia/htdocs/imedia_plsqlgw_sample/imedia_plsqlgw_readme.htm
Or, you could use the intermedia java classes as documented in:
    http://technet.oracle.com/sample_code/products/intermedia/htdocs/intermedia_servlet_jsp_samples/imedia_servlet_jsp_readme.htm
The only thing to remember is that the examples are for image
audio and video. But the code does support straight blobs. So you
will have to look at the javadoc or code to figure out how to
    load the blobs.

  • Can't email MS-Word, Excel files

I am trying to email MS-word and excel files from those programs. I select File, Send to, but the send to mail recipient option is not operative. I can't select it, its not illuminated. Any ideas how to fix this so I can email MS-word and Excel files?

    Hi,
    Whether you use office 2013.
Considering this .doc file can be smoothly opened in Office if you downloaded it to your local, it indicates that the Word document and Microsoft Word doesn’t have any problems. The issue may be caused by the compatibility between Office
    and your site.
1.Check whether you have the SharePoint OpenDocuments Class add on enabled at first.
    Internet Explorer >Tools iron > Manage add-ons >
Choose to Show All add-ons. Find SharePoint OpenDocuments Class and make sure it’s enabled.
2.go to Compatibility view settings > add your SharePoint site to compatibility view
    3.go to Internet Options,
Advanced > Reset… > Check Delete personal settings and reset
Security > Trusted sites > sites > add SharePoint sites to trusted sites
4.If it doesn’t work, please open Word, go to Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Protected View > Uncheck all.
    Best Regards,

  • Office 2013 can't open word, excel files from the network after upgrade to 8.1

    Hello,
Recently, I upgraded all PCs from WIN 8 to Win 8.1. After the upgrade I noticed that I can't open any word documents and excel files. Before the upgraded I have no problem opened any files. All PCs have over 500GB free space on hard drive. Other PCs that
run Win 7 have no problem open them only the one with Win 8.1. This is what I got:
I right click--> property and there is no unblocked. All files resided on the network server.
    Please help.
    Jimmy

    Hi Jimmy,
Did you get any error message when you try to open an Excel file/Word document?
If so, you can post the error message and  event log here. Also ,if you had antivirus software installed, try to disable them to test this issue.
In addition, what happens if you add the network server location as a trusted location?

  • AppleWorks won't read Word/Excel Files

I have bought and update my AppleWorks, but it still won't open Word OR Excel files...
    What is wrong?

    Hello
I'm assuming that these Word or Excel files where made with a recent Office's version.
AppleWorks's translators (a subset of Dataviz's MacLink Plus) are those bundled with it in year 2000 so they are not aware of changes made after that.
Newer translators are available in the late version of MacLink Plus.
