Could not connect to the update server?????

Hi this is Om Prakash,
I am recently bought an Blackberry PlayBook.During the initial setup update process every time it shows
"could not connect to the update server.(2011 or 3000 or 3001)"
I try desktop option but the update is failed at middle and I try to update again but it try to load already downloaded and shows error message.
I cant able to use my device.Plz provide me an solution.

This error can be generated if there is no Wi-Fi connection, retry connecting to the Wi-fi access point or try connecting to a different wi-fi access point and try again.

As a new OS came out yesterday it could simply be server is busy.however if you use the desktop manager method the PB must be completely off. If you can't do that by normal methods hold down On and - vol buttons for at least 10 sec til it goes off. Plug in, then quickly respond to the request to update. Version should not be a problem if you approach it that way.

Hi just bougt a blackberry playbook 64 gb yesterday. I tried to update it since yesterday but the message always appear on the screen is " could not connect to the update server (3000) Please help me on this problem. Should I return it to the store where I bought it? I hope somebody help me on this. Thank you & God bless

Wait it appears to be working. I can confirm this method works.
The next time I turned it on it appeared to apply the update, then look for a smaller update and it found it! It's booting for the first time now!!! WOOOHOOOOO : DD
Takes ages to boot. "Installation Successful".

edit: Can I just add that I was forced to do a fair bit of reading online, try 2 other wifi's and even exhange the model at the reasonably priced Computer store I bought it from with not much help from the chump behind the counter just to begin using this thing. Not impressed (esp when I think of the ease in which I got my ipad up and running).

I keep getting this error message (as above) when I'm trying to install the update on my new Playbook. It's still in the initial set-up, so I haven't actually been able to use the thing properly yet and I have no idea what I need to do.
Anyone have any advice?

you either
- google for a) hard restart and b) update procedure via desktop software
- or call the support person. it's free for 90 days from the day you call them
also make sure
-your PB is fully charged
-your blue tooth is turned off, bridge turn off. wireless off for the desktop software update route
I sure won't want download via phone connection and pay phone ISP for 200 MB of data
BTW:
unless the pb can't be restarted by any means people talked about else where in this forum, you should be able to use the PB not updated.
While my the PB was downloading the update I had the option of continue to use although I choose not to. of course surfing the web is definitely not recomended while downloading the update. I was able to start and finish backup to PC before I allow the PB to restart with the new OS.

just purchased this BB playbook..this is very frustrating that i cannot get passed the update screen. I have been to a couple hotspots to try and connect and it is not working. HELP!!

It's really not that hard to setup, but I do understand you're encountering some real difficulties.
Make sure you find a FREE and NO-PASSWORD location to try this setup. Like a McDonalds.
Or if at your home, make sure you have no password set on your home WiFi router and that are not set to N-type WiFi signal.

The MOF Compiler could not connect with the WMI server

I am trying to add node2 to SQL cluster (2008) However, I kept running into errors with the following error message:
"The MOF Compiler could not connect with the WMI Server. This is either because of a semantic error such as an incompatibility with the existing WMI repository or an actual error such as the failure of the WMI Server to start".
I checked on the WMI services, they are started and running.renamed the WMI repository. but nothing worked .
Any idea what settings I need to change in order to ensure a successful instalation and add node 2 to sql cluster.

Did SQL Server failed during installation and you somehow brought services online. Or it failed and next time you executed it succeeded IMO this error pops up because of remnants of failed installation on Node 1. With cluster specially if Installation on
node 1 fails you should uninstall completely and remove all files related to SQL Server and then proceed.

If above still not helps please post complete setup log file

Could not connect to the OLAP server web analysis hyperion

I created a document report in Web Analysis with an administrator user then I created a user in the shared services console and granted him access to the report, but entering with this user I can access the report, but receive the following error message: Could not connect to the OLAP server web analysis hyperion.

Is the user having correct provisioning in Essbase? Which version? (older versions, you'll have to synchronize Essbase with HSS)

MS SQL Server 2008 not getting installed properly - MOF compiler could not connect with the WMI server

I am trying to install SQL Server 2008 in my local machine. However, I kept running into errors with the following error message:

Possibly the issue was caused by uninstalling from add-remove programs - at any rate, using aaron bertrand's suggestion below fixed the issue. Also of note - I used the local admin for the install.

yes - remove msxml6 and any other half installed portion of sql 2008 and REBOOT and install sql

yes... uninstall 4.0... go to download site... scroll down and download 3.0install 3.0 and authorize computer than you can upgrade to 4.0

Quickly you can do a check.
Open your browser
Type URL: https://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/Status
Press enter
You should see something like:
If it says "UP", this indicates ADE will be able to contact activation server.
If not, then, maybe firewall is causing you this issue.

Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server.

I am unable to download books from my local library using Adobe Digital Editions. My library told me to unauthorize which was also supported by the on-line help discussions on the Adobe website. I did that and now when trying to re-authorize continue to receive this message "Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server. Please make sure you are connected to the internet'". I am connected so that is not the issue. I had great difficulty finding a phone number to call for help and when finally successful, I was in the process of being transferred and the call was dropped.
Please HELP!

Two possibilities.
One is that the connection is being blocked by your firewall. Try turning the firewall off (temporarily) and trying to register again.
Another is a bug in ADE2. Quite common: but I don't think it is the issue for you. May be worth trying 1.7.2 just in case ...
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
