Could not find Microsoft JDBC Driver ???

Hi all,
My program could not find the JDBC driver. Why?????
Here is my environment:
Platform: Win2000
Database: Sql2000
Tool: JBuilder enterprise (trial version)
JDBC Driver: Microsoft JDBC driver for SQL Server 2000
I set the CLASSPATH=.;D:\Sql200JDBCDriver\lib\msbase.jar;D:\Sql200JDBCDriver\lib\msutil.jar;D:\Sql200JDBCDriver\lib\mssqlserver.jar
Here is my javabean:
package test;
import java.sql.*;
import java.io.*;
public class LoginBean{
public static boolean login(String strUser, String strPass)     {
ResultSet rs;
try{
System.out.println("before class.forName");//Print trapped error.
Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
System.out.println("After class.forName");//Print trapped error.
java.sql.Connection theConnection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:8080;DataBaseName ='MyDataBase;User=sa;passowrd="); //Connect to db
System.out.println("After get connection");//Print trapped error.
Statement theStatement=theConnection.createStatement();
rs=theStatement.executeQuery("SELECT username, password FROM login WHERE username= '" + strUser + "' AND password= '" + strPass + "'");
if(rs.next()) //Fetch username of record
return true;
}catch(Exception e){
System.out.println("before e.getMessage error");//Print trapped error.
System.out.println(e.getMessage());//Print trapped error.
System.out.println("after e.getMessage error");//Print trapped error.
} return false;
Here are the messages I got:
before class.forName
before e.getMessage error
com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
after e.getMessage error.
The program never got throught the statement: Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
What's wrong?????
thanks in advanced.

I guess you have a good idea what the problem is. Either the class name you have specified is wrong or the required library is not on the classpath.
How are you setting the classpath? Are you running your application through JBuilder or through the command line?
If it's through JBuilder then make sure that you've configured one of their tiresome "Libraries" and that your project has it in its "Required Libraries".
Never rely on environment variables to supply the classpath - it takes very little effort to set up a classpath for each application you're developing and will ensure you're using the versions of each library that you want to. Personally I make sure I delete the classpath environment variable so there's nothing implicit hiding away.
Hope this helps.

    Most likely, the OCI libraries could not be loaded.
    Before continuing down this path, is there any reason
    why you want to use an OCI based Driver as opposed to the
    all Java Oracle thin driver ?There is indeed a valid reason for my choice.
    I am currently connecting to the Oracle "Rdb" 7.0 database (located on
    VMS) - not Oracle Oracle.
    The SQL Service software we're currently using is version 7.1. This
    version works well with the OCI8 driver (when connecting to the
    database from Windows NT). This version of SQL Service however does
    NOT work for the THIN driver (unless we upgrade the SQL Service to
    version 7.1.5.5 - which we're not prepared to do so because it is not
    stable enough from our previous test/trials). SQLSRV Version 7.1.5.5
    works for THIN driver but it will result in uncommitted
    transactions/unresolved connection/stopping of listener issues and
    there is a need to restart the service from time to time. Oracle has
    since confirmed that this is a bug that they have yet to resolve...
    So we have to stick to OCI8 (THICK) for the time being. I would really
    appreciate it very much if you can tell me the various OCI libraries
    that I need to load (in terms of WebLogic Server config file settings
    etc..).
    By the way I have already installed the Oracle 8 client software on
    the NT server (where WebLogic Server is) and I have also set up the
    relevant SID (using the Net8 Assistant) that points to the Oracle Rdb
    database on the VMS. I have also tried using SQL*Plus to connect to
    the database and I can connect properly to the database. But WebLogic
    simply doesn't seem to load the software.
    Help...

    OK, something seemed to have changed with my system because this error is NEW. It might be related to my system upgrade from Vista to Win7, but just guessing here.
    I run a database on a corporate MS Sql Server (2005) and an ASP application that connects via ODBC. The real world application works fine, however when I attempt to access Stored Procedures from Dreamweaver (on my development machine)  I am getting the following error:
    [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.sp_SPNAMEHERE'.
    This only seems to happen on Stored procedures that RETURN a recordset.
    system:
    Win7
    Dreamweaver CS4
    Code: VBScript/Classic ASP
    SQL Server 2005
    Connecting via ODBC: MM_MY_STRING = "Driver={SQL Server};Server=wscxxxxxxxxx;Database=dbsystem;Uid=username;Pwd=XXXXXXXXXXXX"
    Stored procedures that do not return a recordset are not an issue.... this has put my development work at a standstill!!
    Thanks in advance!

    Well, I hate bumps, but I am really running out of solutions. I have now tried to use a system DSN on my development machine and that didnt solve the problem. I just un-installed DW and re-installed it and that didnt solve my problem either.
    This is very frustrating, because I cannot use any stored procs that return recordsets... I am stuck... can anybody think of a relatively easy work-around to working in DW w/ recordsets that come from SPs when you cant actually access them?
    The really weird thing is, when I build the command, and choose the stored proc, and give it valid input variables, and TEST it from the TEST button, everything works and data is returned as expected. Once I click "OK" and actually add it to the ASP page the recordset that should be visible isnt... and when I click the plus sign in the bindings window I get the error...
    Help!!

  • WAMPSERVER 'PDOException' with message 'could not find driver'

    Hi All,
    I'm running wampserver 64 bit version with:
    Apache : 2.4.4 MySQL : 5.6.12 PHP : 5.4.12 PHPMyAdmin : 4.0.4 SqlBuddy : 1.3.3 XDebug : 2.2.3
    I have downloaded the Microsoft Drivers 3.0 for PHP for SQL Server.
    I have put the drivers in my ext folder C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.12\ext
    php_pdo_sqlsrv_54_ts.dll
    php_sqlsrv_54_ts.dll
    I have changed my php.ini file to included:
    extension=php_sqlsrv_54_ts.dll
    extension=php_pdo_sqlsrv_54_ts.dll
    I have restarted my PC.
    When I run the following php code:
    <?php
    $database = "master";
    $conn = new PDO( "sqlsrv:server=(local) ; Database = $database", "", "");
    ?>
    I still get the following error message:
    Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'could not find driver' in W:\wamp\www\sqlservertestV02.php on line 4
    I have tried everything I can think of but the driver does not seem to load correctly.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Ernst.

    Hello,
    The Microsoft Drivers 3.0 for PHP for SQL Server is used to read and write SQL Server data from within PHP scripts. Since you use MySQL, you should install PDO Driver for MySQL and use pdo_mysql module.

  • Unable to init TestServlet. Could not find driver.

    Hi I am testing a small servlet to get data of oracle database. However, it gives me an error in compilation with the init section. The details is as follows:
    The part of code where the problem is as follows:
    public void init(ServletConfig conf) throws ServletException {
    super.init(conf);
    Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
              conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
              "jdbc:oracle:thin:@myserver:1521:cooler",
         "scott", "tiger");
    java142: not a statement
    Unable to init TestServlet. Could not find driver.
    I would appreciate any help/suggestion. Thanks in advance. Regards.

    I think the problem is not with Driver.
    U have to embed the code in either Service, doGet or doPost like method. U have directly written the code in servlet class if the code snippet is same as shown in Ques.

  • Windows Could not find the Driver for your Apple iPod USB Device (5G 30GB)

    I have a 8GB iPod Nano. My roommate has a 30GB 5G Video. Black.
    My iPod syncs flawlessly. His is not recognized by Windows or iTunes. Every time we plug in the iPod, it prompts us for the driver. I tried to install the update apple mentions through the windows process, but after going through the tedious Windows Genuine Verification process, I was told that the update didn't apply to my computer.
    We use a Lenovo Thinkpad T60p, which shipped with Windows Vista Business.
    We are running iTunes 7.3.1.3, and there are no windows updates available for the computer.
    I have...
    ...reset
    ...reinstalled 7.3.1.3 (over and over and over)
    ...tried different USB ports. (Early on, we saw it once after swapping ports).
    ...tried turning off the ability of the computer to 'Turn this device off to save power."
    I have also verified that the iPod works on my work Dell Lattitude D620 running XP, and that it's not the cord, as we've used the cord that came with my Nano as well.
    So, the problem seems to be with vista, as many people seem to have had. The best thread I found that deals with this was http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=995793.
    But even after having tried everything, I still have an unrecognizable iPod.
    When I run iPod diagonostics, everything seems okay, except for the iPod connection, which says failed. I've had difficulty working with the iPod service under Computer/Device Manager - it doesn't ever seem to stop or start, with the iPod plugged in or not.
    And interestingly enough, the FAT32 external harddrive that I use to back up my data exhibits exactly the same problem ("Windows could not find the driver for your USB Mass Storage Device). This device worked great in XP, and even odder, I have a FAT32 partition of the main HD as a swap space between my VistaOS and my Ubuntu installation.
    Do I have to chalk this up to another issue with Windows Vista? What bothers me there is that you're a ping-pong between windows support and apple support - no one really owns up the problem.

    Bill, I've been stuck in this loop for 3 months since buying a new laptop with Vista Basic. I've tried everything to no avail. I don't know what else to do apart from buying a cheap PC running XP. Let me know if you manage to find a solution and I'll do the same.
    Regards. Adam

  • SharePoint 2010 with SQL Reporting Services 2012 "Installation Error: Could not find SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\110 registry key"

    i have a small sharepoint farm "2 servers" (WFE) and SQL Server 2012 ,
    i installed rsSharePoint for reporting services , as a read the Reporting services is Application Service  with SQL 2012 not as SQL 2008 R2 with SharePoint integrated mode, so after installation when am trying to configure the  SQL Server
    Reporting Services Application services i got the below error :
    "Installation Error: Could not find SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\110 registry key"
    any kind of help would be much appreciated .

    I'm having the same issue, but to me it seems like the instructions I've seen are all over the place.  I already have SP 2013 and SQL 2012 SP 1 installed.  I already added the features for Reporting Services - Sharepoint and Reporting Services
    Add-in for SharePoint Products.  I didn't see the Reporting Service service in CA, so I ran the powershell scripts to add SPRSService and SPRSServiceProxy.
    My initial quest, was to get the BI features enabled, which took me on the journey of adding the Report Services, then I got the error.
    Then when I read this about installing the BI features
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/querysimon/archive/2012/11/26/installing-the-bi-features-of-sharepoint-2013.aspx, which I already had SQL and SP installed.  Do I have to rerun and selct the SQL Server PowerPoint for SharePoint option?  I have the PowerPoint
    Configuration Tool on my SQL server, I run it and I get PowerPivot for SP 2013 Configuranoi is missing prerequisits:  SP 2013 EE is required.  Which I have EE.
    Is Reporting Services different or in addition to the BI Feature (PowerPivot)?
    Have I missed a step?
    Thanks for you help.

  • Call of Duty Ghosts/ battlefield 4 Freeze; NVIDIA 331.65 driver: this driver could not find compatible graphics hardware

    I'm using imac 27 inch mid 2011
    I've bought Call of duty Ghosts.. it require 6 GB ram, so i upgraded mine from 4 GB to 8 GB. Now i can run the game, after 2 sec, it freezes. So i tried to download NVIDIA 331.65 which says to be the solution. And then it says"this driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". So i couldnt download NVIDIA 331.65 ....
    Any idea?
    This might be the problem for Battlefield 4 gamers too

    There's an important distinction you need to make on NVIDIA's web site to get the "right" driver.
    NVIDIA's driver finder has separate categories for the desktop and mobile variants.
    You don't specify the computer model in question, so I'm going to throw in a guess that you have a notebook.  If this is so, or you have one of the iMacs or Mac minis with the 9400 MCP, then it's really a 9400M (the M standing for mobile), in which case you need the GeForce 9M drivers.
    If installing these yields the same error, then the drivers can be modified so that they will install properly.  Google "nvidia mobile driver modder" if you wish to try.  I cannot, however, guarantee the results of such hacks even as I know they exist.

  • I recently updated to the OSX 10.8.3 Operating Sistem.  I am writing a book and now cannot open any word document I've created.  Could not find a newer version of the Microsoft Word Processing Program.  Is Pages the next thing? Can I recover my documents?

    I recently updated to the OSX 10.8.3 Operating Sistem.  I am writing a book and now cannot open any word document I've created with the old system.  Could not find a newer version of the Microsoft Word Processing Program.  Is Pages the next thing? Can I recover my documents?  How?

    I'm in the same boat: new to OS X and Mac, and in the middle of a book. I switched because I heard about the the ease of using Mac, but so far, for me, it's been a nightmare. I bought 2011 Office Mac and hate everything about it, the most recent being the inability to open or cut or paste any of my original word files. I understand that this could have easily been done with earlier versions, but not Mountain Lion (which I learned is what OSX is.) Since I work with language, I am amazed at the assumptions of the Apple community. It helps to use common language and explain even the basics.
    So all the helpful hints to use the latest version of Office Mac are to no avail. Now what?
