CPU,Temp utilization for a particular schema

Hi,
There is a requirement to get the CPU utilization at a schema level for a particular database.
Is this something we can get from AWR reports?
Is there any other way of getting these reports.
Regards,
Narayan

AWR, yes
Try:
select a.username, count(*) "ON CPU", ratio_to_report(count(*)) over() ratio
from dba_users a, dba_hist_active_sess_history b
where a.user_id = b.user_id
and b.session_state = 'ON CPU'
and b.session_type = 'FOREGROUND' --comment out if needed
group by a.username
order by 2 desc;HTH

    Hi,
Is it possible to do the following tasks for a particular schema (say inv):
    1. Relink the executables for INV schema using adadmin utility.
    2. Regenerate the forms for INV schema using adadmin utility.Yes, it is possible for specific schema -- See (Note: 141118.1 - How To Relink Forms Library Files Using Adadmin) for details.
    3. Check if there are any invalid objects in the database where the issue is replicated INV schema.Through adadmin, it is not possible for specific schema. To check the list of invalid objects under the INV schema, you need to run this query:
    SQL> select object_name, object_type
    from dba_objects
where status = 'INVALID' and owner = 'INV';Regards,

The Business requirement is that  a single Excise invoice number should be generated for the plant be it domestic or Export Transactions. So we have accordingly maintained a single series group.
The client requires  immediate  utilization of CENVAT in case of Export under rebate claim alone and for other transactions it would done at month end. As utilization is based on series group can you please suggest how to over come the issue.

  • Dynamic Conversion of SQL Statement for a particular Schema

    Hi,
Please suggest me a best method for my following scenerio,
    user1 - Owner of table A (no number, name varchar2, location varchar2, age char(2) )
    user2 - A normal database user
user2 has access to table A
Now, even if user2 executes " select * from A; " he should not get all the columns displayed, i.e for example the query "select * from A " should be dynamically converted to "select no, name from A ".
Like that the user1 should restrict the display of particular columns to particular users in database.
    Please do help me out
    Thanks

Of course I can create a view but the thing is user2 needs to access the parent table A itselfWell, really they just need to think they're accessing parent table A.
The proper approach for that is a combination of views and synonyms and no direct visibility of the base table to the other user.
The other option is some element of VPD column masking - that will hide the data but not the column definition.

CISCO-SYSTEM-EXT-MIB.my is a good place to start and you can determine the OID from the MIB.
Once you feel as though you are on the right track, have a look at:
    http://www.oidview.com/mibs/9/CISCO-SYSTEM-EXT-MIB.html
I gather that what you need is:
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.305.1.1.1
    and
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.305.1.1.2

    Hi,
You can use Performance Monitor and add the required counters.
Check the below Technet article on Performance Monitor.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749249.aspx
Below are the steps to monitor the process in Performance Monitor.
    - Go to the Performance Monitor.
    - Right-click on the graph and select "Add Counters".
    - In the "Available counters" list, open the "Process" section by clicking on the down arrow next to it. Select "% Processor Time" (and any other counter you want).
    - In the "Instances of selected object" list, select the process you want to track. Then click on "Add >>" button. Click on OK.

  • Possible fix for CPU temp problem found.

Well, one day I decided to take the heatsink off of the nForce3 chip and put some good ol' Arctic Silver thermal compound on there.  I figured it might help with overclocking and whatnot.  When I took it off, look what I found(!):
Imagine my surprise!  Why did they even bother?  Ridiculous.  After removing their mistake, I put some Arctic Silver on there and re-attached the MSI heatsink (someday I'll probably buy a much better one for it).  I've noticed after a couple of days (it takes a little while for the thermal compound to set in) that the CPU temp doesn't appear to fluctuate wildly anymore.  Before I was getting crazy jumps from 45C to 65C, but now it hovers around 45C-47C idle and a little over 50C stressed.  I've also noticed that my overclocks are a bit more stable now too.  For those of you wondering, I'm using BIOS v1.1 at the moment (haven't tried v1.42 yet).
Can anyone confirm these findings?  Maybe something else I did fixed my CPU temp issue (I do fiddle with the BIOS quite a bit).  My guess is that the nForce3 has a part in determining/reporting the CPU temperature.
I hope this actually is a fix for some of you out there, but don't get your hopes up too high until at least one other person can confirm my theory.

It's very easy to remove the MSI plate. Using a pair of needle-nose pliers pinch the fins on the heat sink on one side together (one at the top, one at the bottom). You don't have to do it too much and be careful. This provides enough slack for the plate to drop out with some slight assistance. Well, that's how I did mine.
I then attached a 40mm fan by screwing into the gaps between the two fins. Only on the one side mind (so 2 screws in total). It holds the fan fine, no rattling.
I have some Artic Silver adhesive and I did consider leaving the MSI plate in place and fixing the fan to it. But I wasn't sure how secure it would be. Plus the plate rattles already, imagine how it would behave with a fan stuck to it.
Unfortunately, I forgot to make a note of the NB temperature before I did it. And I can't for the life of me remember what it was. So I can't say, for sure, how it has effected the temperature. I'm sure it has though.
I suppose it's easy enough to disconnect the fan to find out. I might try that later...
Running at 230x10 (stock = 200x10), MBM reports:
    Case = 37C
    CPU = 35C
    Sensor 3 = 49C
The sensors are labelled by MBM, so I am assuming they respond to the correct items, ie the CPU temp is actually the CPU temp.
This is after a hour or so with Azureus running, mIRC open, a couple of IE windows and SETI running at ~97% CPU
When I take the side off to disconnect the fan again, I will take a picture.

  • CPU Temp spike to 120c for no apparent reason. Help!

    Hi,
I've got a 2.5 dual G5 4gb ram and yesterday I noticed the fans were running constantly for about 5 min. I had Photoshop and Illustrator running so I didn't think much of it (cpus were running at about 60% in activity monitor). Next thing I know I get a black screen that went away after I moved my mouse (It did this twice). I quickly shut down the programs and all was well. I did a bit of research and figured out that this is due to the cpu's overheating and it's putting the system into sleep mode. It's never done this before, and I work on these programs daily.
Well, I decided to download a temperature monitor today so I could keep an eye on what the temps are. I was listening to a podcast a that was approx. 30 min long (no other software running but Firefox, activity monitor, and the ). CPU temps were ok (around 65-80c), but suddenly the fans started screaming and the screen went black. When I got it to come on (only got it to come on for a few secs) I noticed the temps on both cpu's were running at over 120c. I shut down Safari and every program I could think of, but the temp remained high. I was afraid of frying my cpus' so I shut it down via the apple menu. The monitor went black, but the fans continued screaming so I held down the power button.
Now when I try to start it up I get the normal ding, but a black screen. When I look through the mesh on the front I see two red lights (I'm guessing where the cpus are). Please help me determine what the cause of this is! I'm a designer and this is my only source of income. Thanks in advance!!!!

Well, I've taken it in to my local Mac repair shop. I'm wondering if the coolant is coming from my power supply (which is under warranty and was replaced 2 months ago), or if it's a separate component. I know this is a known issue with the liquid cooled G5s, and I hope that whatever is wrong will be fixed!!
When I was carrying it out to my car to transport today the coolant leaked all over my floor. I had both my dogs indoors and I didn't notice the trail of liquid till I got back (almost an hour later). I really hope neither of them licked up any of it! Between this and the potential fire hazard I'm almost starting to question on whether or not I even want it fixed. I'm literally afraid of my computer..lol.
I should be hearing back from the repair shop tomorrow. Fingers crossed this leak didn't fry my cpus and logic board. At temps like that I don't see how it couldn't!
Thanks to all of you for your help!

  • Correct CPU temp for a P4 3.06 with & w/out water cooling

What is the correct CPU temp for a P4 3.06?
and also what should the temp show for a P4 3.06 running
    an Innovatek Water Cooling System
    Many thanks,
    Acinom

Thanks for all the great info!!
I am running idle (cpu) at btw 44c and 46c. When I installed a game (quake) and then played it my temp rose to 52c. So I guess I am ok right now. I would like it to run a little cooler however.
    I am running Innovatek -
    CPU block
    Northbridge Block
    Video Card water block
    2 HD blocks
Innovatek Konvekt -O-Matic passive water cooling heat dissipation: over 4 pounds and 13 1/2 inches long by 9 inches high
Also I am using the NEW Nanotherm PCM+ on all blocks (cpu, gpu, northbridge)
All the blocks are smooth, no leaks. I am using an Eheim 2011 pump which also holds over 1000ml reservoir AND I have a tank-o-matic 280ml reservoir. I am using distilled water with the Innovatek conditioner (2 bottles equaling about 30% ratio). I have two fans in the system.
The only temp I can gauge is my CPU. I do not know how to check my GPU or Northbridge temps although I would like to know how, please. My ambient room temperature is around 72 to 74 degrees.

  • SDK-based Management Pack causes 100% CPU utilization for HealtService.exe

We developed an MP that uses SDK to create SCOM objects and insert a large number of performance counters ~ 2000 every 5 minute interval.
On SCOM side the MP has about 2000 instances of UnitMonitor (only ~20 per class but there are lots of  actual objects). In these monitors we use
DataSource based on Microsoft.SystemCenter.TargetEntitySdkPerformanceDataProvider. All worked fine for a year but lately added a bunch of new objects/counters and CPU utilization for the MonitoringHost.exe started to spike
to 100% a few seconds after the Performance Counters were posted via SDK. The spike lasts for up to 3 minutes. No DB or Network spikes observed. We suspect SCOM does not deal efficiently with SDK Performance data - as if a separate SdkPerformanceDataProvider
is started for every UnitMonitor when the counters are posted rather than having cooked-down - one per Target instance.
Can anyone shed some light on this? I suspect only the Microsoft engineers would know.
    Our environment is like this:
    SCOM 2012 R2 UR4
Windows Server 2012 8 Core, 16 GB Ram
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
is there a way that you can reduce the number of performance insertions? Regardless of even fixing the performance issue, the impact from a database standpoint may be something to consider in the long term. My point is that fixing one issue, will take us
to the next one, etc etc.
I would reduce the number of insertions, only to the either insertion of the "most critical" or "top #". Also, aren't those counters already captured out of the box?

  • CPU Temp 120c burning itunes music

When I'm burning music to CD my macbook pro shuts down when CPU Diode temp reaches 120c. I tried external CD burner ended with same issue. Installed smcFan controller, adjust fans to 6000rpm it takes a minute or so extra to shut down. Even re-modified heat sink, it just added 2-3 minutes to shut down time.
    Any ideas will be appreciated.

Burning music to a CD alone should be all that taxing to your system... if you're transcoding music (such as MP3 files to CD audio files)... that can require quite a bit of processing power. The CPU percentages you referenced would be consistent with transcoding. However, even with doing something highly processor intensive, your system should be able to operate within tolerances (albeit on the higher end).
Have you tried resetting your SMC? This can help with thermal management issues:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
(be sure to follow the instructions for your particular model as they vary from machine to machine)
I'm not sure what you mean by "re-modified heat sink"... but if the results were better, it doesn't seem like any harm was done.
I'm sort of leaning towards a faulty temp sensor. Have you run something like iStat Pro to check the temps of the other sensors while this is happening?
    http://www.islayer.com/apps/istatpro/
If you see wild variations, it could be a good clue to a faulty sensor.

  • Won't read CPU temp

I am building a Media Center machine from some new bits and some old. I chose an MSI K7N2 Delta 2 LSR board as it supported my redundant Athlon CPU, a fanless north bridge, serial and parallel hard drives and on board sound. It looked ideal particularly as I am very happy with the MSI board on my main machine.
Put it all together and fired up into BIOS.  All looked OK till I looked at the PC Health bit. CPU temperature given as 125 C/ 1 F. Returned the board  to the supplier (Scan) who found the board faulty (it would not even boot up) and replaced it.  New board gave exactly the same. CPU temp 125 C/ 1 F.  The system temp looks OK at 20 C. Phoned Scan who said it was a mystery. Offered to replace it again.
What do I do? If I go for an identical replacement will I get the same again? Have I missed something and my system is causing this error and not the board? Do I go for something else and if so what?
    Thanks

    Hi responders,
A little more background might help.  I started this Media Centre with a redundant Abit KT7 board. I then installed Windows XP Media Center. It worked reasonably well but was a little unstable.  This was the reason it was redundant, I had replaced it on my my main machine with the MSI KTN2 Delta ISLR which turned out to be excellent. I then replaced this Abit board on my media Centre with an MSI K&N2 Delta 2 LSR and had to do a Windows repair.  I should have done a clean install.  Anyway it worked up to a point. With this first MSI K7N2 Delta 2 LSR motherboard I got a CPU temperature of 125 C/ 1 F in the BIOS. Carried on into Windows XP and came up with a CPU temperature of -127 C in CoreCell. This motherboard returned and found to be faulty and replaced. Installed this replacement MSI K7N2 Delta2 LSR and it came up with identical results.
Re enginerr 2001.  Both motherboards boot OK.  Yes I ma afraid, but don't believe, the CPU temperature is too high.  The processor is correctly identified. I did not use the same heatsink thermal paste.  Cleaned and used a little Akasa thermal paste.
Re Wananoby. see my signatures which I have updated with more detail.
Re Doctor Stu. I agree the temperature reading, either or both +125 C or 1 F, are incorrect.  Incidently CoreCell gives the CPU as -127 C !!!
My feeling is that there is a fault in the CPU thermocouple or the processing of its output. But the identical fault on two motherboards is too much of a coincidence unless it is a batch fault in which case others would have had the same problem.
Re Fredrik Asenius. I must admit I'm not sure where to look for this.  When I boot up I get
    Phoenix Award BIOS v6.00PG
    W 6570NMS v11.4 081604 13:34:12
I'd be interested to know what is what.
    My next step
    Do I
    1. Ignore ithe CPU temperature and do a clean reinstall of Windows.
    2. Ask for a replacement motherboard, probably from the same batch.
    3. Ask for my money back and go for something else?  If so what?
    Thanks again

After i tryed to install the drivers a got wit the cd.
My system was very instable (i had no problem whit the motherboard i had before)
I made the install more than once , but still got instability
So i went to the nvidia site and downloaded the drivers for the chipset from there , and also made a bios update to v 1.2
    System went stable.
Tried again after the bios update with the original cd --> not stable , randomless reboot
so i'm now working with the nvidia drivers from the nvidia site , it's stable but when i go to bios i see that the CPU temp is -38°
Is it a fix for this or do i have a wrong mobo ????

    -38°C , seen that a few times now .
I think you should RMA/return the motherboard .
    Why , see:

Not the same board as yours but all have a faulty calibraded (non workin) sensor on their motherboards .
The positive thing though is that the boards with this issue that runs on AMI bios doesn't freeze/halt as the award based ones does.
