CR 8.5, Section Back Color question

I want to change the Section Back Color of the detail if the following condition is true:
{CIT_VH_NewUsed;1.Age} > 180
It tells me "A statement is expected here" in front of the statement.
What am I missing here?
Thanks
Kelvin

Use something like this:
IF {CIT_VH_NewUsed;1.Age} > 180 then yellow else white

I'd go a little farther than Peter and say, "No, it's not safe."
And I'd go a little farther and say, "No, it's not safe," and ask the question of why they didn't just buy the color they wanted in the first place

About Java 2 opaque font color question, help needed!
I was trying to test opaque font (the string has a foreground color and a background color), but i can't find the method for doing that.
i can change foreground by Graphics2D.setPaint(Color.black).
Anybody know how to change the background of the string?
    Thanks!

Hi. The way I'd do it would be to use the font metrics to find the length of a string and draw a rectangle and then drawstring over the rectangle. If you want an example, I can post it although I suspect theres a better way.

  • Div Color Questions

Alright, I'm brand new to CSS and to Dreamweaver so please be easy on me if this is a completely idiotic question .  I have just started some code for a site I'm working on.  I have it almost set up how I want it minus the bells and whistles.  My only issue is I can't get my "left" and "right" div background colors to change.  I've tried playing with the code, I've tried playing with the dreamweaver features, but there's no changes.  I was hoping somebody could give me a hand?  I'm sure once I see what I'm doing wrong it will be a d'oh moment.  I have CSS Rules made for each section and have tried to click into it and change the background color, but nothing updates.  The font, etc won't change either.  What the heck am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any assistance!  The section of code is below:
    <body>
    <div id="shadow">
      <div id="Wrapper">
        <div id="Banner">
          <blockquote><a href="index.html"><img src="images/BDBBanner.gif" alt="Bully Dog Bakery Banner" width="800" height="200" /></a></blockquote>

I can't see where in YOUR css that light green colour is coming from?
That's why I'm suggesting it may be Tripod taking over your page a bit. Unfortunately you pay a price for FREE web hosting and in the case of Tripod they cram your page with 'unwanted' adverts. The light green is behind the advert which appears at the foot of the page.
If I take just your html and css then the page works ok to the point whereby you can see the left and right column colors.
If you haven't introduced the light green color into your page then someone else did and that someone else is Tripod.

  • Color question

Running Photoshop CS3 intel mac leopard. I made a .psd file with spot PMS 307 chosen from the PMS picker, not as a separate channel. I made another file at home on a imac running 10.4.11 CS2 with PMS 307 chosen the same way. Both are RGB files, both have color management off. The colors did not match. Anyone know why?
    Thanks

    stephanie,
    >This was an RGB question that has been blow all out of proportion and I thank you for pointing that out. The CMYK only comes in because of the pantone picker, used to match a logo color.
Please understand that the folks here are trying to understand what you are seeing and what you are trying to do. In your posts #3, #5 and #26, you clearly refer to commercial printing and unmanaged color.
CMYK and Pantone are not Web color associations. And RGB, CMYK, and Pantone spot colors all have different color spaces/gamuts. You cannot get an exact color equivalents across the board in these color spaces. And there are gamut differences between sRGB, Adobe RGB and all the other RGB spaces you can access in Photoshop.
So I'm confused as to what it is exactly that you want to do with the images, in other words, how they are going to be used and seen when all is done.
We can't be sure you have your monitors properly calibrated (the most important first step to color management). And you seem to be assigning your (unique) monitor profiles to your work. I can't say for sure that I follow your workflow.
So, let me ask a few questions:
    1. Are your monitors hardware calibrated to 6500°K with a 2.2 gamma?
    2. How are the images in question going to be used? Commercial offset, desktop printer, Website, etc.?
    3. What color space are you assigning or embedding or... with your images? Is it sRGB?
    4. Which Pantone color are you using (and is it for coated, uncoated, or matte paper)? And if you are going for Web, why are you working with Pantone colors instead of RGB or hexadecimal?
    5. Have you read G Ballard's excellent color management basics? Do you have any questions?
    6. Can you post a link to a screen shot of your color setup if you are preparing art for print?
    7. Can you post a link to a screenshot of the mismatched images and describe how you arrived at the colors?
You can go to the free http://.www.pixentral.com to upload the images in question, and copy the link (per pixentral's instructions) back here.
    Thank you.

  • Color question (Pantone to PDF)

This is probably more of an Adobe Distiller question, but
    I'll ask
    anyways...
I whipped up a logo design for a client and they love it. I
    just eyeballed
on-screen colors and told them that they'll have to sit down
    with the
Pantone Swatch book and pick the specific colors they want to
    use.
They ended up matching the swatches to the on-screen colors I
    picked and
    that's what I used.
I then created a PDF (press optimized) of said FH file. Now
    the colors look
completely different on-screen (though, obviously, they are
    the correct
pantone colors and as long as the printer isn't an idiot,
    they'll look fine
    on the t-shirts).
The question I have is why do on-screen matched pantone
    colors not actually
    match on screen when used?
    -Darrel

As you requested Darrel, here is my best answer to this
    question. (I
didn't answer before because I'm not 100% able to back up my
    answer with
facts and typically leave it up people who are.)
The colors are not matching simply because all applications
    render
colors differently. I can open up the same PDF in Acrobat 4
    and 8 as
well as Preview and get three different color schemes. Each
    program has
it's own method of rendering colors on screen. Now you
    transfer that
same PDF to someone else's computer with a different monitor,
    different
video card and different operating system and you've got a
    real mess.
There is not guaranteed way to deliver color on screen. If
    you spend
some money and a lot of time you may be able to get FreeHand,
    Photoshop
and your desktop printer to agree (more or less) but you can
    forget
    about much else.
Moral of the story? Never buy clothes online that you haven't
    seen in
    person.
    Rich
P.S. Even on press, Pantone or process, you are going to get
    color
variations. If you are printing a t-shirt it better be white,
    because
the colors will vary just by virtue of the color they are
    printed on and
even just LOOK different because of the color next to it.

  • Bring back colored icons!

Love the new iTunes 10 - except the monotone gray icon buttons on the far left side. So much harder to read - there is a reason color icons were a vast improvement over B&W when they were first introduced in the 1980's.
I feel like this is a retro step backwards for no good reason at all.
Bring back the color! (how do I post this to the Apple suggestions section?)

I just downloaded version 10.1 - the description cited 'look and feel improvements'. I was excited about the prospect of colored icons returning as this would be a marked improvement from v10. No dice. I feel ignored by the developers... My complaint is not (really) about aesthetics, but a loss of functionality: the open window does not appear active, which is confusing, and the icons are more difficult to differentiate, particularly on my 13" screen. Anyway, just wanted to voice my displeasure....

  • Front end and back end questions

    Hi,
If I want to develop a web base SOA application by using Jcaps, I have several question want to ask.
1.) In the front end, if i create the page by using eVision to create the page
flow and the page layout, how can I match the fields of the page (such
as the username, email, tel no... with the back end web services?
2.) Does the flow of the front end web pages are control by the page flow in
eVision? When will the eVision supported AJAX or JSF?
3.) What is the use of the eInsight Business process manager, does it
control all the back end flow, such as the flow of each web services?
Does Jcaps has the Bpel engine to control the flow of web services?
4.) I know that in JBoss, there is a jBPM server to control the flow of the front
end pages, does JCAPS has this kind of server?
5.) If i want to connect to the Database? I know that there is a eTL to extract
the data from the database, it is true? Or do u recommend to connect the
database directly through the web services by using JDBC or other
    framework as well?
6.) If I have an existing application that is developed by .Net (With no web
services). How can i integrate with other systems? What can I do in order
to reuse the system? Or what Jcaps can do in this manner?
Thanks for you reply! ^ ^

Generally, back-end would consist of the taks associated with configuration of data targets (ODS, Cubes), working with extractors, mapping data to the data targets, writing transfer/start rtn/update rules, and creating Infopkgs/ Process Chains.
Front-end deals with the use of the BW - writing queries, workbooks, web (although I think some of the infrastructure aspects of web reporting. e.g. javascript/templates might really could be considered backend).  Think of Front-end as all of the client/customer/user facing components.

  • Back up Question when using backup not Time Machine

Hi there, I currently have my Time capsule configured as a file server sharing my files between 3 macs on the TC's wifi and also via the back to my mac service, while outside my home. The 3 macs connected also use the TC as the time machine back up disk. This setup works fine but I have concerns about reports that TC's can just die and the files contained on it could be lost. To combat this I have set my macbook to perform a backup using the backup program once a day. This is set to backup the whole TC excluding the 3 Time capsule files to an external firewire disk. The problem seems to occur after about a day or two, when the backup program reports a failed backup due to not enough disk space but I don't understand this as the external firewire disk has enough space unless it is trying to carry out a complete backup again. Once the initial backup is done (about 6 hours) I can manually trigger a backup which completes in a matter of seconds and is labelled on the firewire disc as incremental and contains a few mb. Can any one explain this to me? and any posable fixes.
    Cheers
    Here are the figures.
    TC = 500GB
TC Files= 87GB (Excluding the 3 TM backups)
    Firewire drive 160GB
    Initial Backup file size 87.7GB
Successful Incremental Backup file size 4.2mb (done on same day as initial backup)
2nd Sucsesfull Incremental Backup file size 2.1mb (manually triggered day after initial backup)
Error backup file size 29kb (auto triggered day after initial backup)

The current version of Backup won't do a full backup (after the first one) unless you tell it to, via +Plan > Full Backup+ from the menubar. But it will back up everything that was added or changed since the last backup, so an Incremental backup can be quite large.
A clue may be lurking in the log for the failed backup.
From the main Backup screen, select the Plan in question, then from the Menubar, +Plan > History.+ Then select the "event" in question and click the +View Details+ button at the bottom.
If the log doesn't tell you much, copy and post it here (but if there's a long list of files copied, leave out most of that).

  • Why black and white photo changed back color after exported?

The photo I took shows up in black and white but after I exported the photo, none are black and white.  Why is that?
I can see it as black and white while on the iphone.

You need to duplicate your color photo.
    1. Open your color photo in PSE11 Full Edit expert tab (A raw photo will open in camera raw so click the open image button too send it to the PSE interface)
    2. On the Top menu click Layer >>Duplicate Layer >>OK
    3. On the top menu click Enhance >>Convert to Black & White >>OK
    4. If you can’t see the layers pallet to the right click Window >>Layers
    5. In the layers pallet click add layer mask (the icon with a small circle)
    6. Make sure your foreground color is set to black then select the brush tool
    7. Click the mouse over the area where you wish to reveal color and use like an eraser to reveal the background below
    8. To correct errors switch the foreground color to white, then switch back to black and continue
    9. Save as PSD to preserve your layers and if you wish make a jpeg copy from the PSD file using File >> Save As
N.B. if your brush is too big or too small you can use the square bracket keys to adjust the size up or down.
The smart brush tool has black & white options but it does involve making selections which can be more tricky than using the ordinary brush.

  • IPod syncing and backing up question!

I just recently had to re-do my operating system with the recovery disk of my Windows XP laptop and had to wipe out everything and start fresh on the hard drive.
I have everything on my iPod touch that has not been synced or backed up as all of that was gone like I said when I had to re-do my operating system on my Windows XP laptop which brought it back to day 1 and all of the previously synced and backed up data that was stored in iTunes on my laptop was wiped out as well.
I don't want to lose what all I have on my iPod touch because I know that if I try to sync and backup my iPod touch it will think it's another computer and lose and wipe out everything that I have on my iPod touch as this has happened to me before in the past and it was all gone for good at that point.
My question is this, how do I sync and backup my iPod touch on the same laptop that I used in the beginning when my iPod touch was brand new after I synced and backed up for the 1st time so that I won't lose everything on my iPod touch again so that it will recognize the same laptop I used in the beginning in iTunes?

OK, these are good steps to follow for the purchases.
What are the instructions for doing it for my Apps, Contacts, Websites I've saved on the iPod, Photos, Videos, Calendar, Notes, Messages, and Bookmarks so my laptop won't cause the iPod to delete any of these on me like the last time being that it thinks that it's a brand new iPod Touch and doesn't recognize it at all?
Bear in mind still that I had to re-do my operating system for my Windows XP laptop from the recovery disk which brought it all back to day 1 from scratch. When I did this in the past and plugged in my iPod Touch to the laptop, it deleted and wiped out everything from the iPod Touch and had to start over. I don't want this to happen again.

  • Itunes library back up question?

Hello, I have a question about my Itunes library. I went and ripped all of my CD's through Itunes. I was wondering if there was anyway I could get those ripped files and save them to my PC. I have my Itunes library backed up, but was wondering if this was possible.
    Thanks!

How are you backing up the library? Done properly it should capture all of the media also. See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy.
