Crash on window close

Question

Everytime I start quicktime older movies open and quicktime crashes when I try to close them. Clear Menu option is not available also

Reading crash reports isn't that tricky really once you know what to check for.
The crash report is split into 2 sections: Threads and Extension/Libraries used by the application (or Binary Images as it's referred to in the crash report).
The threads section at the top (Thread 1 state, Thread 2 state etc) give you an idea what the applications was actively doing when it crashed. Often the specific thread that crashed has clues relating to it's cause. For example, sometimes you might see reference to 'cookies' there which more often than not means the cookie file has become corrupt.
In the Binary Images section you can see what libraries and third party extension are hooked into Safari. Trouble makers tend to appear higher in the listing. If a non-Apple one is high in the list it's often a cause for investigation. This was what I noticed in your case and the references to SpeedDownload.
This is quite a common problem with people using incompatible versions of SpeedDownload so I was fairly sure that was the cause.
