Crashes caused by ShellStreams64.dll

I am having frequent crashes. This crash states that there is a microsoft c + + error in Explorer (PC). However, when we analyze a dump file of the error it points to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\ShellStreams64.dll
as the problem.

Why does LabView crash when unloading my DLL (reentrant calls)?

I have written a DLL in Borland Delphi using multiple threads that exports several functions (stdcall). I am using LabVIEW 6i on a WinXP machine. All functions in the DLL work as expected and return correct values. Everything works fine if I set all Call Library Function Nodes to 'UI-Thread', but as soon as I set one Function Node to 'Reentrant', LabView crashes when I close the VI after it has been executed. I assume the error is caused by the DLL unloading mechanism of LabView. Other C++/Delphi programs using the DLL reentrantly work fine, this only occurs in LabView. In which thread does LabView call FreeLibrary/DLL_PROCESS_DETACH? Has anyone experienced similar problems?

I have never run into this situation myself, but I do know that calling a multi-threaded DLL or CIN from LabVIEW does depend upon the following criteria:
If your CIN/DLL doesn't have any global data storage (global variables, files on disk, etc.), AND it doesn't access any hardware (register-level programming) AND it doesn't call any functions/DLLs/Drivers that are thread-unsafe.
OR
Your CIN/DLL protects (with semaphores or mutex's) access to those global resources.
OR
Your DLL is only called from one, non-reentrant VI
OR
Your CIN is only called from one, non-reentrant VI AND you don't access any global resources from CINInit, CINAbort, CINDispose, etc. procedures.

Usually doesn't immediately crash, although that happens also. Usually hangs, then crashes.
Addons are WHY I use Firefox when it works. I am NOT on the bleeding edge any longer. I could go back to boring, boring, Chrome.

Frequent crashes on module PlugPlug.dll

Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 has been crashing for me frequently if the app is left open for extended periods of time. I notice it most when I've left it running overnight or if I'm away from my computer for a few hours during the day.
The most common reason for Dreamweaver to crash is the PlugPlug.dll file. Here is the most recent error entry from my security logs. The problem started on 2/5/2015 and I've had 12 crashes since then.

Create crash logs on win –
You need to add these entries in registry.
Go to run, type regedit and enter. This will open Registry Editor.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting->Right Click->New->Key. New key named "New Key #1" will be created. Rename it to LocalDumps.
Add two entries LocalDumps. Right click on LocalDumps->New->Expandable String Value (REZ_EXPAND_SZ). Double click on the entry created and add value name : DumpFolder and value data : %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps.
Right click on LocalDumps->New->DWORD (32 bit) Value(REG_DWORD). Double click on the value created and add value name : DumpType and value data :1
Next time when the application crashes you will find the crash dump at C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Local\CrashDumps. Dumps will be created only in case of crash and not hang.

After Effects CS6 crashes, causing my iMac to restart.
I want to buy AE CS6, so I downloaded the 30-day trial version.
I followed all the instructions to install it properly and followed several tutorials to optimize it for my computer.
This is what I use:

Based on everything I've read, my iMac has all the system prerequisites to use AE, and all the other programs that I use for video and audio recording and editing ( Final Cut X, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Photoshop CS6, etc. ), work perfectly, run smoothly and never crash.
After Effects CS6 crashes constantly, causing the computer to restart. It seems to run smoothly, then I start a render and it crashes; or I start a color correction with Curves and it crashes. Each and every time the computer restarts by itself.
I've tried rendering smaller portions of video at a time, sometimes it finishes the rendering, sometimes not.

Your post is not much use to anyone. You are not telling us anything about your operating system, storage locations, output settings and whatever else may be relevant. The magic sauce is all in the details, not a generic assumption that this would be some bug or known issue.

Application crash with error ntdll.dll 00018fea

Hi,
I have a problem with my app.exe build.
I attach a simple code; the Vi open and close a TDM file.
If I run this Vi in Labview works fine.
If I build the application.exe on a notebook and I run it I got "Application crash with error ntdll.dll 00018fea".
I've tried to build the Vi on another Pc Desktop with Labview and here if I run the exe it works fine.
On the two PC I have LV8.5; the build options are the same.
On the notebook I've try also to reinstall LV8.5 but I got the same error.
Can you help me?

Never ever do that! You were very lucky that both ntdll.dll files were probably the same version so the exchange didn't do much but ntdll.dll is one of the core Windows DLLs were everything goes through that normal applications may access in Windows. A mixup in such a part because of incompatitible ntdll.dll with other system API DLLs might prevent your computer entirely from starting up even in safe mode.
You should not attempt to ever switch system DLLs between different computers. In such behaviour lays insanity. If you expect a system DLL to be corrupt attempt to do a repair installation instead. Also Windows nowadays has techniques to detect if a system DLL got corrupt and will attempt to repair it, though I guess if ntdll.dll would go belly up it's likely your computer won't even start up.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Crash related to rtsshooks64.dll

I appreciate that this is a fairly generic request and I can't provide much detail but I'm happy to try to respond and investigate further if needed.
Situation, I'm using MSA Afterburner 4.1 to slightly OC my MSI GTX980.
I'm playing X-Rebirth currently and experienced a lot of random crashes during gameplay.
I was working with the Egosoft support through the crash dumps and their developers pointed out that many crashes are related to rtsshooks64.dll. I assume thats a library used for the statistic server part of Afterburner, correct?
Is there a way I can eliminate those crashes without loosing the OC via Afterburner?

Backboardd crashes causing iPhone reboot

When launching the "Sun Mobile" app (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/the-sun-mobile/id485672520?mt=8), the device immediately restarts.
The crash logs show that it was backboardd that crashed causing the restart of the device.
The app runs fine on iPhone 5S (any OS version) or on iPhone 5 prior to iOS 7.1.
This is a serious bug! The whole device is restarted. The screen goes black and the device relaunches to the lock screen.

Please define "crash". What actually happens?
Did this ever work? E.g.; this started to happen recently?
Is this happening on your development system or QA or production?
See if enabling the option "Verify on 1st Refresh" will help.
Make sure you are using SP 1: Crystal Reports for VS 2005 and VS 2008 Updates & Runtime Downloads
Ensure that the dataset is less that a couple thousand rows. Anything more than that will cause issues...

IE8 Crash which was caused by ntdll.dll

Hi all
I want to create a IE8 (Chinese language),so I do not use ZAV template.
When I generate the ZAV AP, I try to launch it on Clear XP Sp3 workstation.the AP automatic close about 5 secs. I check the event viewer, an error show "Failed Application iexplore.exe,version 8.0.6001.18702,Failed module ntdll.dll,version 5.1.2600.5512,Error Address 0x0002ceae"
The error seem popular error when I search from Google.....
Does the problem have patch or other method to fix it ??

IPod Classic Crashes randomly with ntdll.dll error

Sometimes when I plug-in my 120GB iPod Classic, iTunes would crash, giving me a ntdll.dll error, and I would need to unplug my iPod classic before it would allow iTunes to start again. Upon disconnect, the iPod will try to restart and then it would unsuccessfully do so, and then it would reboot and tell me to restore via iTunes. After I plug it back in, the iPod would restore fine. It seems that if I don't sync my iPod for a couple of days, the possibility of this error happening is most likely, versus if I plugged it in consistently every day.
I have had this issue for quite a while here are the steps that I've taken to try to mediate this issue:
-Switched iPod twice with Apple Store
-Tried the sync on two different computers with completely different hardware (but windows 7 on both)
-Made a new iTunes library
-Search the support forums/google
-Tried various cables

OK So I sync'd it this afternoon and in the evening, I plugged it in again, and this time it caused iTunes to crash with this error:

I have a problem that when I close the report it crashes the whole application. It happens on Windows Vista Business. What the XP reports is that the module that crshes is ntdll.dll (version 6.0.6000.16386).Product: Crystal Report 11 CRDEVELOPER FULL

Hi Alan,
I've seen this happen when the other app is using custom UFL's, they are either U2L.dll or CRUFL.dll. One thing CR does not do is version check UFL's. If the other app is running it may have loaded in their UFL's and then you app will load them also.
It may also be that when you declare the app object specify the version.
In C++ it would look like this: pApplication.CreateInstance("CrystalRuntime.Application.9") This way it tells your app to use this version. As Ludek suggested possibly your app is using the XI version. Also check the version of crviewer.dll, not sure if you load it but it can cause problems if they are mixed also.
And it may be OS related. what version of windows are you using?
There are also others that just copy all of the CR runtime into the \system32 folder. Not a good plan for other app's that use CR runtime also.
Try closing the other application and then test your app again. If it works it may be they are not version checking, or have a custom UFL, etc.

Should I need to increase -XX:MaxClassBlockMemory to 75M. If so, how should I do it, I am unaware of how I can set the values? My Planning server has 136GB Ram and 18 Cores.

The issue was related to the heap size being too much and as a result the Class block memory was not getting enough memory. I think we can make a use of -XXCompressedRefs:32 parameter in the Java start up to allow the heap size to increase till 32 Gb.

I am using a DLL from VC++ labview6.1 crash upon loading the DLL

Labview crashes when I load my DLL from VC++ that calls device net software. It is only _stdcall function. Sometime my whole PC crash upon loading it. I Appreciate any help from anyone......

Your problem is most likely caused by a memory error. Insure that you are passing the correct data types (especially pointers) into the Call Library Function and make sure that if the DLL is expecting any memory to be allocated that the proper data has been created in LabVIEW (for instance, if the DLL was expecting a string of a certain length, LabVIEW would need to create a string constant which was long enough to satisfy the DLL). Also insure that there are not any race conditions (conditions within LabVIEW in which the order of execution is not defined) which could cause your DLL to access memory which has not yet been allocated. You can generally fix race conditions by using sequence structures. Also, make sure that your DLL cleans up any memory that it all
ocates.
