Crashing LabVIEW when calling SetDoubleClickTime (Windows UI API)

Hmm, I think I'm calling SetDoubleClickTime correctly through the Call Library Funciton Node.  I'm even able to update the double click time.  For some reason, though, LabVIEW crashes upon execution of the function.
I suspect that I'm not handling the returned Boolean value correctly, but I've tried returning all permutations of unsigned integer, 8 bit, 16 bit, and 32 bit.  All result in crashes.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Victor

Here is what your call should look like...
I suspect it is your calling conventions.  They should be stdcall (winapi)

  • Runtime error OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED when calling any standard GRC API's

    Hello colleagues,
    I always get the runtime error OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED when calling any standard GRC API's
    For instance, lets take Function Modules:
    I tried almost any of them but in particular:
    GRPC_API_CONTROL_QUERY Load the list of controls
    GRPC_API_ISSUE_QUERY Retrieve issues of the case
    GRPC_API_ORGUNIT_QUERY Load list of Organizations
    GRPC_API_RMPLAN_QUERY Retrieve remediation plans of case
    GRPC_API_RISK_CONTROLS Retrieve the controls of the risk
    and etc.
    All of them return the runtime error OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED, however I've provided Object ID's in the right format,
    The same is for corresponding classes,
    Does anyone have such problem before?
    Appreciate your responses,
    Thank you,
    Best Regards,
    Anton

    Hi Anton,
    We need to pass value for I_SESSION_ID. Because, when i execute FM: GRPC_API_RMPLAN_QUERY by giving correct I_OBJECT_ID as shown below, i'm also getting the same error.
    On executing..
    Getting following dump.
    And attached is the dump analysis .
    Thanks

    i, Does this need to increase any configuration file timeout parameter on EBS Adapter or other component ?
    Any suggestions to fix/towards resolution is appreciated.

    With the changes(sync-time-out,global transaction time,hpptd.conf, and transaction-manager.xml ) in SOA configuration then we are getting the exception ..
    So, we need help with SOA configuration to get the BPEL service working when the API called within BPEL service is taking approximately 20 mts.

  • Error when calling getAllServerPools() using WebService API

    Hi,
    I try to get All the Server Pool created on my Oracle VM Manager with the WebService API, but i'm get an error.
    Here is the code (I used the wsimport to create proxy class Oracle VM 2.2.0):
    - 1.Get "AdminService Webservice" --> OK
    private AdminService_Service adminServiceService=null;
    private AdminService adminService=null;
    try
    this.adminServiceService=new AdminService_Service(new URL(url + WS.CONTEXT_PATH +WS.ADMINSERVICEWS),new QName(WS.QNAME, WS.ADMINSERVICE));
    catch (MalformedURLException e)
    // TODO Auto-generated catch block
    e.printStackTrace();
    this.adminService=this.adminServiceService.getAdminServiceSoapHttpPort();
    bindProvider = (BindingProvider) this.adminService;
    requestContext = bindProvider.getRequestContext();
    requestContext.put(BindingProvider.ENDPOINT_ADDRESS_PROPERTY, url + WS.CONTEXT_PATH +WS.ADMINSERVICEPORT);
    requestContext.put(BindingProvider.SESSION_MAINTAIN_PROPERTY, new Boolean(true));
    requestContext.put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, userName);
    requestContext.put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY, password);
    - 2. Login to OracleVM Manager with an administrator user account--> OK
    LoginElement loginElmnt=new LoginElement();
    loginElmnt.setAccountName(userName);
    loginElmnt.setPassword(encyptPassword(password));
    LoginResponseElement res=this.adminService.login(loginElmnt);
    String loginToken=res.getResult();
    --> Admin Session token: 510175389-1257996206446
    -3. Get the "ServerPoolService Webserice" --> OK
    private ServerPoolService serverPoolService=null;
    private ServerPoolService_Service serverPoolSrvService=null;
    try
    this.serverPoolSrvService=new ServerPoolService_Service(new URL(url + WS.CONTEXT_PATH +WS.SERVERPOOLSERVICEWS),new QName(WS.QNAME, WS.SERVERPOOLSERVICE));
    catch (MalformedURLException e)
    // TODO Auto-generated catch block
    e.printStackTrace();
    this.serverPoolService=this.serverPoolSrvService.getServerPoolServiceSoapHttpPort();
    bindProvider = (BindingProvider) this.serverPoolService;
    requestContext = bindProvider.getRequestContext();
    requestContext.put(BindingProvider.ENDPOINT_ADDRESS_PROPERTY, url + WS.CONTEXT_PATH +WS.SERVERPOOLSERVICEPORT);
    requestContext.put(BindingProvider.SESSION_MAINTAIN_PROPERTY, new Boolean(true));
    requestContext.put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, userName);
    requestContext.put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY, password);
    -4. Get the AllServerPool --> KO
    GetAllServerPoolsElement getAllServerPool=new GetAllServerPoolsElement();
    GetAllServerPoolsResponseElement getAllserverPoolResp=null;
    ServerPool serverPool=new ServerPool();
    List<ServerPool> serverPoolArr=new ArrayList<ServerPool>();
    i have the java.lang.NullPointerException when calling:
    getAllserverPoolResp=this.serverPoolService.getAllServerPools(getAllServerPool);
    What is the problem ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Christophe.

    just a silly bug....

  • Firefox will not open from the start menu or the taskbar, but WILL open when called from Windows Live Messenger

    This started a couple weeks ago, but doesn't seem to coincide with any other installations or reconfigurations, so I'm having trouble getting at the root cause.
    The first time I run Firefox after installing, it runs fine (complete with a full list of add-ons.) If I then close FF and try to start it from the task bar or start menu, nothing happens. I've tried starting in safe mode (shift+FF), but get the same result. I've restored FF to all the default settings, disabled all my plugins and add ons, but no change.
    The really odd part is that if I click the 'Inbox' link in my Windows Live Messenger, FF opens perfectly. This made me think that it was my homepage causing the issue, but A: I can go to that page without problems once FF has started from WLM, and B: even if I use the FF default homepage or google.com, I get the same problem. Furthermore, if I restart FF from within FF (like after I disable/enable an add-on), it will also start properly.
    No crash report is generated by FF when it fails to load, but Windows catches the problem in it's event log. I've pasted the contents of that record at the bottom in the hopes that someone can take a stab at what's wrong.
    Finally, I've already run through the online crash help, but everything is either not related (since FF will start if called indirectly) or has already been prevented (absolutely no add-ons are running at the moment.)

    I have exactly the same issue. After FF upgraded on its own to version 5, it won't open from start menu, taskbar, desktop icon, or even by pressing firefox.exe in program files directory. It does so by pressing a link at msn messenger, inside Outlook etc.
    Disabling all addons, didn't help. Moreover, I can't start FF in safe mode or start profile manager (Start > Run> firefox.exe -ProfileManager).

  • Getting 415 Unsupported Media Type error when calling a windows web service

    I have a BPEL process that invokes a windows web service. This process is working currently on the production system. When trying to run the process in a new test clustered environment, I'm getting the error below (bolded).
    We're using 10.1.3.3 Oracle Application Server and BPEL. Please advise on what config files might need to be tweaked to fix this.

  • NI-VISA 5.1.2 exits/closes right after launching it on a Linux CentOS 6.2 PC, also crashes LabVIEW when trying to create VISA ref constant for VISA Open.

    After installing LaBVIEW 2011 and NI-VISA 5.1.2 on a CentOS 6.2 PC, I had noticed a problem with trying to use the VISA vi's in LabVIEW, basically it's not working for me, LabVIEW crashed when trying to create a control or constant for the VISA Open vi.  Tried to launch the VISA tools, they all start and then close abruptly.  NI I/O Trace only shows one line.
    I did read though many threads and decided to collect the NI system.log, which is attached. (system.log.gz).  I did notice a strange message in here about nivisaserver:

    Hi MountainMan,
    Thanks for attaching the system report log -- I believe I have a solution for you :-) Let's look at a few of the lines:
    890: /proc/meminfo:
    891: MemTotal: 3894712 kB
    1726: /proc/iomem:
    1784: 100000000-12dffffff : System RAM
    1807: /bin/dmesg:
    1820: BIOS-provided physical RAM map: 2576: [nipal] More than 4GB of addressable memory detected.
    1838: BIOS-e820: 0000000100000000 - 000000012e000000 (usable)
    2576: [nipal] More than 4GB of addressable memory detected.
    2577: [nipal] This configuration is not supported. Check the release notes for more information.
    Starting at the bottom at lines 2576..2577, dmesg had more than just the NI-VISA server signing notification. At system boot, the NI kernel modules refused to load because they detected more than 4 GB of addressable memory. But, if you look towards the top at lines 890..891, meminfo says you have less than 4 GB of system memory, which makes it seem like the NI modules don't know what they're talking about. However, if you look at the report from iomem a little further down on lines 1726..1784, system RAM has been re-mapped above the 4 GB boundary. While your system doesn't have more than 4 GB of RAM, some of its memory has addresses above 4 GB, which the NI modules cannot use and so they refuse to load. How did that happen? Your system BIOS provided a physical RAM map with usable addresses above the threshold (line 1838).
    The fix here is simple -- you need to tell the kernel to reserve addresses above 4 GB [1] so that it won't remap the RAM to higher memory. Once all of the RAM has addresses below the 4 GB threshold, the modules should load and VISA/LabVIEW/et al should stop misbehaving.
    It seems to me that LabVIEW is not handling this situation very gracefully, and maybe you can work with Kira to file a bug report.

  • Bug: Windows 7 DLL call to turn off monitor message crashes LabVIEW 10.0f2

    Hi,
    I wanted to log this bug on the forum. I have already logged this with NI UK Support: CAR# 286873
    I was trying to find a way to turn off a laptop lcd
    monitor during measurements. I was trying to replicate this
    http://codereflect.com/2009/04/03/how-to-programmatically-turn-onoff-your-monitor/
    which uses windows messaging.
    I found the attached Monitor-1.vi somewhere on the forum that seems to do the above.
    However when I run the VI it crashes LabVIEW 10.f2 on Windows 7 32-bit.
    cheers

  • Bring Excel 2007 to the front when called from LabView v9 in Windows 7

    I am building a duplicate system using Windows 7, LabView v9 and Excel v2007.  The original system used WinXP, Excel 2007 and LabView v8.6.  The issue is that the original system was able to bring Excel to the front when called from Labview using the property node -application-> visible.  This new configuration runs Excel, loads the data, runs the macros but does not bring Excel to the front.  The icon blinks in the Win7 taskbar and when selected displays over LabView.  If I minimize the Labview window, Excel is there.  This leads me to conclude that Excel is visible, as requested but will not come to the front until selected from the taskbar.  The only differences, besides the versions, is the original system template files used the .xls extension in and was run in Excel in compatible mode.  At the customers request, the new system uses the .xlsm extension on the Excel template files.  I have tried using application.visible = True in the macro as well.  Could be a setting in Labview?  Could be a setting in Excel? Could be .xls vs. .xlsm? Or an issue with Windows 7 and the newer version of Labview.
    HP workstation - Labview v9 - Windows 7 - Excel 2007 sp2
    Thank you in advance
    Stephen
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I will try the windowstate change.  Were these done in succession? (i.e. property node -> property node -> property node) Or were they done along the way such as call the ActiveX open and a property node then in a worksheet modification area etc. so there was some time between calls?
    I am not sure about the API since the discussion there is with regard to DDE.  (Taken from the link document:  If you want to call a DLL that contains ActiveX
    objects, use the Automation
    Open VI with the Property
    Node and the Invoke
    Node.).  I am calling Excel as an application not as a library call unless I am mistaken, which I could certainly be.  Are you thinking that once Excel is active through the Automation Open VI that a DLL call to set the application visible would work?  I may be trying this already but in Excel through the use of the macro I call from LabView.  It contains application.visible = True at the beginning before reading files and plotting data.
    I may try sprinkling Property node with application->visible in various locations in the LabView diagram as I do update cells after the call to the plot macro.  The puzzle for me is the blinking Excel icon in the task bar.  This means active and running but not visible or something wrong as well.  There are a few #VALUE cells if not all test in the system are run.  Again not a problem in Excel 2007-WinXP-LV8.6
    Thank you again one and all.

  • Strange crash with Intel FFT in Windows XP x64: only when first starting LabVIEW and opening VI, not when opening VI by double-clicking

    When I use the Intel FFT libraries(MKL), I seem to have a strange crash whenever I start allocating the Intel DFTI descriptors. I call a DLL from LabVIEW 8.2.1, in which these functions are used. I am working on Windows XP x64. This seems like a bug which was present in these libraries, but I got the libraries where the bug was resolved.
    The strange things is that, when I open LabVIEW and then open the VI, LabVIEW crashes from the moment I allocate an Intel Dfti descriptor. But when I just double-click the VI and open it this way, I can run the VI without a crash! I already removed the DLLs in \Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\MKL\MKL70 to see if they were the cause. But even without them, I still get the crash.
    I know there was a strange crash in the previous version of Intel MKL when calling a DLL and allocating this type of descriptor, so it seems like somewhere LabVIEW still uses old versions of some of these DLLs. But even then, can this explain the difference in behaviour between opening the VI through LabVIEW or directly? And if so, were could I find these DLLs? I've already searched from them everywhere.

    Update:
    - Opening the single VIs directly by double-clicking indeed solves the crash: from then on I can run all VIs using the libraries without any problem. So LabVIEW must do something strange when it is opened.
    - Linking my DLLs statically against the Intel libraries ALSO solves the prolbem. So this seems to indicate LabVIEW loads some dynamic library which screws up everything. But only on x64 systems . This bloats my DLL, but currently I do not see another work-around.
    Anyone has any more ideas? Otherwise I can always submit some test case to LabVIEW support.

  • LabVIEW 2010 crash when calling user32.dll

    Interesting LabVIEW 2010 "feature" I discovered this morning.
    Attached are two identical VIs, one saved in 2010 and one saved in 2009.  These VIs were specifically written to demonstrate the bug I stumbled upon this afternoon.  Each VI when run should allow you to find a specific program (window) open in Microsoft Windows and bring it to the foreground.  It relies on "user32.dll" to perform this operation.  It also allows you to specify the calling convention for the function call.
    In LV 2009, either calling convention works, without error.  However, in LV 2010 the calling convention for the function must be "stdcall (WINAPI)" and not the default "C".  If the calling convention is "C" then LabVIEW crashes and closes without warning.
    If you happen to have both LV 2009 and LV 2010 on your computer, I would love to hear if this phenomenon is duplicated so that I can pinpoint whether the bug is LV 2010 related or is more specific to my personal setup.
    Thanks,
    ~David

    CLFN with the wrong calling convention may siliently crash LabVIEW.
    LabVIEW 8.5 through 2009 could adjust the calling convention at run time if the user selected the wrong option. In 2010 this no longer happens. More information is found in KnowledgeBase 59KB14WI
    Workaround: Use the correct calling convention

  • GetDefaultPrinters (WinAPI call) Crashes Labview

    Hi all,
    For several reasons I need to use the windows API to get the default printer. I know about labview's activex solutions but those are not universal.
    See attached VI. This winapi call crashes labview rather consistently. It runs fine and returns correctly the default printer. However, some time later, a few seconds or a few operations later it will always crash labview. Why? I've tried changing it to "Run in UI thread" instead of any thread but neither seems to help...
    To get it to crash immediately, try closing the VI. That seems to do it every time. Access violations...

    No.  You actually did NOT allocated memory in your VI.
    Here is how to allocated memory, the old way:

  • LabVIEW 2010 crashes often when deleting multiple diagram objects

    LabVIEW 2010f2 has been reasonably stable for me so far, but I seem to get crashes to the desktop exactly under the following conditions:
    When deleting larger sections of code (=several objects selected with the mouse, typically including bad wires in the selection, followed by hitting the delete key).
    When this happens, LabVIEW becomes unresponsive for about 10 seconds, then crashes to the desktop. This scenario is quite reproducible in a statistically significant way. While it is not 100% reproducible, I've had it happen a couple of times in a row on the same restored VI, doing basically the same delete procedure. It happened in quite a few unrelated VIs.
    This is LabVIEW 2010f2 32bit on Windows 7 64bit. There is nothing in the failure log.
    I wonder if anybody else has seen similar correlations.... Thanks!

    OK, got one!
    Open the attached file in 2010f2. (from this discussion. All that padding and re-stripping of the 2D array is not necessary, so we try to clean up the code a bit. )
    Jing file is here.
    We delete a few things in the right, then on the left, then on the bottom left.
    At 7 seconds, LabVIEW becomes unresponsive. At 12 seconds, it crashes to the desktop.
    (I was able to record this two times in a row!)
