Create a Heat Map in Oracle Apex 4.1 version

Hi,
I want to generate a Heat Map for Apex 4.1 version.
However I did not see any option which will create a Heat Map in the Charts/Maps sections.
Please advice how this can be achieved.

  • Integrating Google Maps in Oracle Apex and 404 Not found error page

    Currently using APEX version 3.2.0.00.27 installed in OracleXE version 10.2.0.1.0. Have been attempting to recreate some examples of Google Maps within APEX. Found a nice set of examples here that build up to what I'm looking to ultimately do by incorporating google maps into APEX:
    http://blog.whitehorses.nl/2009/10/04/integrating-google-maps-in-oracle-apex/
    Unfortunatly, I'm getting the "404 Not Found, Not found, The requested URL /apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server" page when I try to recreate the "Map with Search" example. I'd like to see if this really works using the html input and button tags in the body/region source versus creating APEX items to pass the address values to the javascript in the html header of the apex page. I'm thinking it's just an html thing within APEX that you have to do it a certain way, but I haven't managed to hit that magic combination. have gone to the google maps api v2 and looked at the html they use (it's what these examples with apex are based on) and tried that just to see. Same 404 result.
    I've seen suggestions at this forum and elsewhere that the 404 error is due to a bug. have been to metalink, and really haven't seen anything that spells out what the bug is and how to patch it or work around it. May be I just haven't found the right note/doc yet. have seen suggestions to change something associated with the Anonymous account that APEX uses. Have turned on authentication in the application to use an APEX user account with a logon page to the application. Still get the 404. Although, I have not adjusted anything elsewhere, like a DADS config file, because the apex/xe configuration is using the plsql gateway. Not sure of any procedure for changing settings on anonymous account when using plsql gateway.
    Open to suggestions. APEX 3.2 is customer version, so going to 4 may not be an option yet. XE, on the other hand, can certainly be swapped for an 11g version standard or enterprise edition if need be. I don't think this is a db version problem though. I think it's more on the APEX side of things.
    Anyway, any help or suggestions are appreciated.
    thanks

  • Create a query builder in oracle Apex

    Hi
    We have a request to create a query builder in oracle Apex particularly.But it provide the application builder and Utilities when we create the apex workspace.My question is any possibility are to make the application builder and utilizes as invisible

    hi scott,
    we no need to buid a report.we want generate a sql query using GUI drag and drop query builder.
    our suggestion is provide synonym for all objects and give to clinet,but in apex query builder only show view and table...
    it not show synonym thats the problem..
    simply we want oracle query browser.just want build a query.through synonym schema.
    we cerate a oracle user and provide synonym for live tables.then we provide the synonym user to client place,so they want build a query simpl.

  • MAP - Label - Oracle Apex  4.0 -

    Hi everybody,
    I have some some questions about maps of Oracle Apex 4.0. I need to put many labels in my sql query, is it possible ?
    I know that the standard syntax is : select LINK, LABEL, VALUE .... But could we use two or three labels ? and how ? please
    Thank you in advance,

    My SQL Query is :
    select null link, country_apex.region_name label, count(*) value
    from figures, country_apex
    where country_apex.country = figures.country
    group by country_apex.region_name
    "COUNTRY_APEX" is a cross-reference table which let me to rely my data (figures) with the map, with "country" as foreign key. "country" is the column which contain countries of my database, then I had to make the "COUNTRY_APEX" table in order to rely my countries with apex countries. I made that with the AnyMap XML Reference.
    So this SQL query works, but when I want to add another label like "figures.geo" or "figures.region", it doesn't work.
    "country_apex.region_name" must be the main label because it let the display of my data on the map.

  • Create a Heat Map Key

    Hi
    I've created a custom map, and have it set up so that each part of the map has a color key graduated based on a formula, and all works fine.  What I want to add is a key to the colours used.  I've used a Spreadsheet component with the following:
         Range
    10,000     or over     red
    7,500     -9999     light red
    5,000     -7499     pink
    2,500     -4999     light pink
    2,499      or under     white
    The colours are the actual cell and font colours, however when I select this range the only correctly displayed colour in design or preview is red.  The rest of the cell colours are displayed something like:
         Range
    10,000     or over     red
    7,500     -9999     orange
    5,000     -7499     green
    2,500     -4999     khaki
    2,499      or under     blue
    So it displays the correct font colour but the incorrect cell format colour.  I'm guessing this is a bug, so any ideas on how else could I display a colour key for the map?
    Thanks

    Hi Charles,
    How did you pick your cell color?
    If I use the Excel Paint Bucket drop down list it only has a few colors to choose from anyway (I have Excel 2003 not 2007), are you using one of the colors in that list?
    If you use the Rectangle component in Xcelsius (Arts & Backgrounds) you can fill that with any color you like...

  • Create a heat map

    I'd like to display some data using a heat map format, something like this:
    My data is basically X,Y coordinates.  Each coordinate pair has an amplitude value.  I want to map the amplitude value into a color gradient and plot it as a smooth graph.  I could do this manually using the Canvas control, but then each point would be graphed as a rectangle of a certian color.  The points wouldn't blend into each other (unless there's some way to blend colors on a Canvas control).  I also thought about using the 3D graph control, but I don't want an actual surface graph.  I want to use color as my thrid dimension.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?
    Tony G.

    Hi Tony,
    Would blending using the canvas control be possible using the alpha channel? Check out the shipping example "alphablend.cws" for an example of this with the Canvas control. I'm not sure if this is going to be applicable to your graph, but hopefully it's useful!

    http://bp2.blogger.com/_F4cjbG7L4no/RyRmRZSz2vI/AAAAAAAAAAM/frAGvZrcyo8/s1600-h/linecalimage.jpg
    I require the table cells to appear as colors based on if the value is null or not null
    When the user mouse overs the cell they should see some values.
    I have tried every option I could google and either I get the colors or the mouseover but not both.
    If someone could point me to a good example or walk through for this it would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

    Create a view in your schema maybe like this...
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW V_HEATMAP AS
    SELECT
    CASE

  • Oracle apex creating mouse over drop down menu

    Hi ,
    I want to create a drop down menu for main tabs. Can any one explain or tell how to create this drop down and to use that in oracle apex 4.2 version.

    A much better option than using in-built tabs.
    1)
    You need to define a List, either static or dynamic, which will be your menu options - and it needs to be hierchical.
    Then you create a list region on the global page, using a stock template such as DHTML Tree
    2)
    Or you can use a CSS only menu, similar to the first option
    http://www.grassroots-oracle.com/2013/05/css-pull-down-menu-using-apex-list.html
    3)
    Or you can use a plug-in

  • How to pass a value to a bind variable in a query report in oracle apex

    Hi Guys,
    I have requirement to send weekly reports via email to some users. The users should receive their own records in the report. The user details is stored in a table. What I am planning to do is to create a report query in oracle apex to generate the report and then run a function/procedure via a scheduler to email the report to respective users. Now my query is ............. is it possible to pass a value (user name) to the report query to pull records of only that user? I know we can have bind variables in the report query but I have no idea how to pass a value for bind variables from a function/procedure.
    Can anyone help me on this issue or suggest a better approach?
    Thanks,

  • Can I use Oracle APEX with MySQL Database

    Hi All,
    We are looking to create a performance dashboard using Oracle APEX for our client, but the application database is MySQL. Is it possible to create reports in APEX using data from MySQL database? If yes, are there any specific steps to be followed or any additional setups needed?
    Any inputs would be really helpful.
    Appreciate all the help
    Thanks,
    Sameer

    Hi Sameer,
    it's not possible to use apex on mysql, as stated above me by several persons.
    If you havent got any oracle database in your organization, apex would be an expensive choise unless you use the free Oracle XE (express edition), which has APEX embedded.
    There are some limitations to XE but with a bit of smart thinking it wouldnt be much of a problem.
    [check the XE information here|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/install.102/b25143/toc.htm#BABIECJA]
    In short:
    - XE will use 1 CPU even if you have two or more in your system
    - There is a 4 GB data limit
    - RAM memory usage is limited to 1 GB
    - 1 installation per computer
    You can use XE as a reporting database. This will relieve your mysql database from heavy reporting processes, too.
    The XE can be used as a mini data warehouse. So you have to transfer and transform the relevant data from mysql to your XE instance.
    After that you can start building report screens etc in the embedded Apex .
    hope this helps you

  • Oracle Apex conditional field display

    Hi,
    I have created two page wizard in Oracle Apex.
    I have item and item_detail table. For item1, I have one detail record and for item2, I have two detail record.
    On Step 1: Choose item which will be drop down from item table.
    On Step 2: Based on item detail record count, I want to display text fields on step 2. If item1 is selected in step 1 thenl display, textdisplay1 and textfield1 in step2. If item2 is selected step ` will display textdisplay1, textfield1, textdisplay2, textfield2 in step2.
    sql/pl/sql condition will be: select count(*) from item_detail where item_id in (select item_id from item where item_name='one provided in step 1'
    I want this dynamic ability to display fields or atleast to hide textdisplay2,textfield2 based on sql/plsql condition.
    Thanks,

    984019,
    How are you coming with this?
    Since I'm a newbie, here's how I'd try to approach this.
    1) So we have the Selection List, say, :P1_SList
    2) Then I'd create a Dynamic Action (DA) triggered on a change to :P1_SList.
    3) The DA would have a PL/SQL procedure in the DA that computed (:P1_Disaplay_Number) 1 for text1, 2 for text2, ...
    4) Then I'd have a display Condition -- a PL/SQL Function Body Returning a Boolean -- on each item (text1, text2, ...), something like, say for text3, ...
    BEGIN
              IF :P1_Display_Number <= 3 THEN
                   RETURN TRUE;
               ELSE
                   RETURN FALSE;
                END IF;
    END;And so forth -- I hope my syntax is correct! So the item Condition determines whether the item displays.
    5) You could set :P1_Display_Number to 0 initially, so no items display until the selection is made and the DA triggered.
    (I hope you don't have more than 10-15 of these text1 ... text15.)
    Is what I have described what you are trying to achieve?
    Best regards,
    Howard

  • Oracle Apex Mail Send Issue.

    Fyi
    I am using oracle apex 4.2 version.
    i am trying to send mail using APEX_MAIL.send.
    My process like
    begin
    APEX_MAIL.send(
    p_to       => '[email protected]',
    p_from     => '[email protected]',
    p_body     => l_body,
    p_subj     => 'APEX_MAIL Package - Plain Text message');
    end;
    When i check mail queue from administrator part
    HomeManage > InstanceMail > Queue
    It show no error and after the send all mail still i am not geting the mail
    i also check my email setting in administrator part.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I suggest that you put some debug statements to make sure that there no errors in the input parameters to the apex_mail.send procedure (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E10513_01/doc/apirefs.310/e12855/apex_mail.htm#insertedID1). If possible, set up a simple example in apex.oracle.com and share the credentials.
    Thanks,
