Create BW datasource on standard ECC function module MCEX02_02_SCL_GR

Hello Experts,
I plan to use standard ECC function module MCEX02_02_SCL_GR to get the GR dates for the PO Schedule Lines. I copied this function module with the BW function group and tried to create a datasource in RSO2. However I receive the following error
ZMM_PO_GR: TABLES-paramter E_T_DATA for extractor MCEX02_02_SCL_GR is missing
I understand that the template for BW function modules is RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE. However is there any way I can use the standard ECC function module OR else how would I incorporate the code in MCEX02_02_SCL_GR into the RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE template.
Thanks for your help.
Alnick

create a DS based on FM and call MCEX02_02_SCL_GR into that FM using call funcation XXX destination.
or
create a table in BW with fields Client, Source system and FM..and then do select statement toa take source system and give in palce of destination.

  • How to Use ECC function Module

    Hi Experts - We need to execute the function module in ECC and need to write data in Oracle table.
    We are using BODS 4.0.
    How to use function module in data flow ? how it can work as a source ?
    I just need some basic steps how to use function module as a source and do the transformation to target.
    Thanks
    R

    Hi Ashwani,
    It is still not possible to use a FM as a source in DS.
    You can use a FM in a transformation but you have to start from a file or table as a source and load into a target (a FM can not be an end point of a dataflow - as it is used in the transformation and each transformation requires a source and a target.
    The scenario I described above was based on a situation where you have a source (flat file or table) and want to use a Function Module to transform your data and/or load the data in a transparant table in SAP.
    Your scenario is different, as your source is not a table/ff but a FM.
    In your case, I can see two scerio's:
    - Use an ABAP dataflow. Although I haven't got any experience with this I do believe this would be an option for your scenario. Please referer to the Data Services documentation on ABAP dataflows for further guidance.
    - As suggested earlier, you can create a bespoke (BW) Datasource based on a Function Module. Please refer to SAP help for creating a generic datasource:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/e3/e60138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
    Depending on your scenario there might be a third option:
    - Use a SAP transparant table as a source. Create a transformation into the designated Oracle table. In the transformation call a FM which executes whatever logic you require. This solution will work if you have a table which produces the same number of records as your FM. If your function module produces more or less records (than there are in the transparant table), then this might become a bit tricky. It might work, but I have never tried it.
    Instead of a transparant table you can also use a table join, obviously. Perhaps part of the complexity of your FM could be resolved by using a join and you can create a new simpler FM for the remaining logic?
    Good luck,
    Jan.

  • Standard remote function module (HR)

    Hi all,
    I'm looking for a standard remote function module to get data from Actions (0000) infotype (Employement Status).
    where/how can I find it?
    thx

    To be honest, if your only requirement is to get data out of Infotype 0, then it would be very easy to create your own Z function module on R3, flag it to be RFC enabled and select the data straight out of PA0000.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 can't see/access ECC function module

    My team is developing our first Crystal Report directly against ECC data and are experiencing the following problem:
    Our ABAP team created a custom RFC to provide the needed data, but we are unable to see a full list of available Functions and list of available tables from SAP ECC data source.
    We worked with Security and temporarily ran under SAP_ALL authority but were still unable to see/ access the function module.  We have the integration kit installed and can see some function modules from within Crystal, just not the ones we need. Is there some trick to creating a function module so that it is visible to Crystal?

  • Exception handling for a standard SAP Function Module - the OO way

    Hello,
    I was wondering what is the correct way to call a standard SAP function module inside a method of global class.
    I want to display the error via the:
    get_text( ) and get_longtext( ) methods.
    I don't want to use the sy-subrc check. Is this possible?
    My example doesn't seem to work...
    See example bellow:
    DATA: ex_object_cx_root TYPE REF TO cx_root,
          ex_text TYPE string,
          ex_text_long TYPE string.
    TRY.
          CALL FUNCTION 'L_TO_CONFIRM'
            EXPORTING
              i_lgnum                        = i_lgnum      " Warehouse number
              i_tanum                        = i_tanum      " Transfer order number
              i_quknz                        = '1'          " '1' - confirm withdrawal only (picking )
              i_commit_work                  = 'X'          " Indicator whether COMMIT WORK in function module

        CATCH cx_root INTO ex_object_cx_root.

                 err_method = 'CONFIRM_TO_2STEP_PICKING'
                 err_message_text = ex_text
                 err_message_text_long = ex_text_long.
      ENDTRY.
    Thank you very much in advance

    Hello Marko,
    If i understand correctly you've enclosed the call to the FM 'L_TO_CONFIRM' inside the TRY ... CATCH ... ENDTRY block.
    CATCH cx_root INTO ex_object_cx_root.
          ex_text = ex_object_cx_root->get_text( ).
          ex_text_long = ex_object_cx_root->get_longtext( ).
    You can't do this because the FM 'L_TO_CONFIRM' doesn't propagate OO exceptions!
    Your approach is almost correct, what you've to do is goes like this:
    CALL FUNCTION 'L_TO_CONFIRM'
      EXPORTING
        i_lgnum                        = i_lgnum      " Warehouse number
        i_tanum                        = i_tanum      " Transfer order number
        i_quknz                        = '1'          " '1' - confirm withdrawal only (picking )
        i_commit_work                  = 'X'          " Indicator whether COMMIT WORK in function module
      TABLES
        t_ltap_conf                    = it_ltap_conf " Table of items to be confirmed
      EXCEPTIONS
        to_confirmed                   = 1    " Transfer order already confirmed
        to_doesnt_exist                = 2
        item_confirmed                 = 3
        item_subsystem                 = 4
        to_item_split_not_allowed      = 51
        input_wrong                    = 52
        OTHERS                         = 53.
    IF sy-subrc <> 0.
      MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE sy-msgty NUMBER sy-msgno
              WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4
              INTO ex_text. "Get the ex_text by this technique & not by CX_ROOT->GET_TEXT()
    ENDIF.
    I'll have to check how to fetch the long text of the message

  • Issue in creating web service for a ABAP Function Module

    Hi,
    now i'm learning how to create web service for a ABAP Function Module. I used the following steps.
    1. select the Function Module, named "zws_test".
    2. in the context menu, select "create->proxy object". so we enter into wizard.
    3. in the wizard, press the radio button "Service Provider".
    4. in the next page, press the radio button "Existing ABAP Objects(Inside Out)".
    5. In the next page, Enter the "zws_test_prvider" as Service Definition and select "Function Module" as Endpoint Type.
    6. in the next page, enter "zws_test" as Function Module and mark the "Mapping der Namen" button
    7. in the next page,select "PRF_DT_IF_SEC_LOW" as Profile and mark "Deploy Service".
    8. Save in the local package.
    9. then it will pop up a window with title "WSDL Source". i selected "URL/HTTP Destination" and press "OK".
    10.in the next page, i enter the URL as "http://hostname:portnumber/", and press "OK".
    11. then it will pop up a window with title "Display logs". A record with error message "HTTP error(return code 404, message "Not found")" appears.
    12. i press "ok" and a service provider with name "zws_test_prvider" appears in my local package.
    13. i use "zws_test_prvider"'s URL to create a service consumer "ZCO_WS_TEST_CONSUMER" and logic portal "LP1".
    14. But when i test my service consumer "ZCO_WS_TEST_CONSUMER", it will throw an exception "cx_ai_system_fault" with errortext "SOAP:14 Unexpected element -el=definitions ns=http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/".
    15. I use t-code SM59 to test connection  and get the following info.
          Status HTTP Response     200
          Status Text                      OK
          Duration Test Call             328 ms.
    who can give me the reasons about item 11 and 14, and explain me how to create service provider and service consumer for a Function Module.

  • How to Create Customer by BAPI or by Function Module

    Hi all,
    I am new to this forum...
    Please can anyone tell me how to Create Customer by BAPI or by Function Module.....?
    I have tried many of the function modules posted in the threads.. but it couldn't help me out...

    > The only official solution is batchinput and idoc (CREMAS).
    Note that when an IDoc exists, it is often possible to call the function module that is just behind it (see WE57 transaction). SAP would not support that direct call, but if you need to contact SAP support about an issue, you can create the IDoc manually and there's no reason that this issue doesn't arise.
    The only difference with the IDocs is that you don't have any IDoc stored in the database, and even no log in database (so you won't be able to see anything in WE02, etc.).
    Note that it is important to know if this function module does a database commit or not: you can look at the BDFG transaction (I assume there's no BAPI related as it is the initial assumption of my post) to see if IDoc packet processing is allowed or not: if packet processing is allowed, there's no database commit in the function module, otherwise there's one.

  • How to create a working  Gateway service utilizing an Existing ECC Function Module?

    Hello All,
    Our ECC (Back end) has a Function module which is to be used by creating a Gateway service .Can you suggest the step by step procedure with which i can continue to expose the service?
    Any help on this is much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Usha

    Hi Usha,
    the flag 'Local app' indicates where the implementation of the service is done because it can be done on the Hub or on the backend. (see my blog about deployment options SAP Gateway deployment options in a nutshell).
    If you choose 'Local App' the BEP API will be called on your hub while otherwise it will be called on the backend system to which the RFC destination points to which has been maintained in your system alias definition.
    Best Regards,
    Andre
    This is explanation offered by SAP Help:
    Indicates that the System Alias is to be used by BEP
    SAP NetWeaver Gateway applications can be developed either on a SAP Business
    Suite backend system or on a SAP NetWeaver Gateway hub system. To access the
    business logic from an SAP Business Suite backend system the software component
    IW_BEP (Backend Enablement and Event Provisioning) has to be deployed in your
    system landscape. IW_BEP can be deployed on the backend system or locally on the
    SAP NetWeaver Gateway hub system. Communication is handled via system aliases
    (RFC destinations).
    Use
    Set this flag if you use this system alias for an OData Channel application
    that has been developed on the BEP add-on which is deployed on the SAP NetWeaver
    Gateway hub system.
    In this case the system alias information (such as RFC destiation, Web
    service group, software version) is not used by SAP NetWeaver Gateway to
    call the BEP API (it is called locally). Instead the system alias information is
    passed through to the OData Channel application, so that it could then itself
    make a call to the corresponding backend system.

  • Creating a delta against a custom Function Module datasource

    I currently created a datasource via RSO2 against a function module.  The function module uses the RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE as a template and I molded this against the data that I need.  Full loads for this extractor work without any problems but I'm having issues with creating a delta load.  Is there someone that can create a list on how to createa delta against a function module.  I believe there is more to do this than just have RSO2 set up against a field.  How do I get the new records into RSA7?  Thanks for your help.

    We are trying to create the same delta extract from r/3 against a custom z table to an infocube in BW. Were you able to do this successfully using the f RSVD_BW_GET_DELTA_DATA as a template and did u receive the code? If so, are you able to send your code?
    My function modules works and fetches the data normally but the info package when scheduled gives an error

    For eg: I maintain Input parameter as action.For that Action we have to maintain a dropdown list(display,insert,update and delete  values ) in function module.Is it possible.

    Hi
    Try using POPUP_GET_VALUES function module in the begining of the Function module this gives a POP to provide a value to you
    In this you can provide a value
    Check the import parameters of this Function module if it has COMBOBOX as parameter ( I dont have SAP access at this point of time) you can pass X to it so you get List box for the following fields
    Create a domain to field and assing fixed values to it and use it in any table(As this works with only existing tables)
    refresh fields.
    DATA: fields LIKE SVAL OCCURS 0.
    fields-tabname = 'MAKT'.
    FILEDS-FIELDNAME = 'MAKTX'.

  • Creating a Customer/Business Partner using Function Module in Background.

    Does anyone know how to use the function module BAPI_ISUPARTNER_CREATEFROMDATA?  I am unable to pass parameters exactly to this FM and make it work.

    Hi,
    unfortunately my system does not have this BAPI. However, with other BAPIs I have tried to read the relevant data using the corresponding BAPI_xxx_GETDETAIL BAPI - there usually is a "GETDETAIL" BAPI for every "CREATE" BAPI.
    Simply read all the data for an object in your SAP system that has been created using SAP transactions and use this information to fill the "CREATE" BAPI. With a bit of trial and error, you should soon be able to supply the correct data.
    Btw: Be shure to call BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT afterwards!
    Hope that helps (please reward me if it does),
