Create case with vi:s from folder

I want to create a case with n number of sub vi inside. I have a folder containing n number of vi:s, they all have the same inputs and outputs.
My problem is that I dont know how many there is and I want to be able to open a specific one depending on its name in a string, send in some parameters and get some back.
Is there any way to create a case on startupp that has as many frames as there are vi:s in the folder, give the case frame the name of the vi, add the vi icon in the case and connect the wires to it. Or is this possible to do in an outher way? Calling it some way?

Just want to clarify before people start calling NI about it. There is no such thing as a scripting license. This product does not exist, so let's all please stop talking about this imaginary license. Scripting is an internal feature of LabVIEW reserved for internal use only and NI does not want people to use it. NI makes it difficult for anyone to use and access. This is done on purpose. The only way to get access to it is to hack LabVIEW. Some have managed to do this and have posted their findings and experiments on LAVA. Using scripting techniques is totally unsupported by NI.
On the other hand, it's a great tool for doing some amazingly cool stuff in LabVIEW.

Hello,
i want to employ a script to create images of dynamic width for me. The whole process shall base on different sized sets of images, which contain a left-image, a right-image and a center-image. The desired width for the different cases shall be reached by duplicating the center-image between the two outer images and placing those images next to each other until the image extends to desired width.
The layers importet into Photoshop shall be importet as smart-layers (which i already solved).
Has anyone done something similar already and could give me some useful hints on that issue ?

But it uses the open file so you would have to adapt it further.

Sure, the function you're looking for is in the ANALYSIS panel under the "CUrve Fitting" palette-- it's called "Linear Mapping". You will need to create the desired X channel prior to calling this function, though, so you will probably need to use the ANALYIS function "Generate Numeric Channel" in the "Channel Functions" palette.

When creating a new row through bc4j with database sequence for primary key, I followed the online examples and even checked the samples distributed with jdev production 9.0.2. They all show that the sequence is returned as Integer. I finally changed it to Long and got it to work. Has there been a change, or have I got something else fouled up?
This is the code that worked...

} Yes some javadoc was corrected to reflect this change in 9.0.2. Could you post the "context" for the javadoc where you're seeing this example so we can verify if that's corrected too.
To get the correct Sequence value, you need to call getSequenceNumber() method and not getData which should have been (and is in 902) marked internal.

Creating Audiobooks with Chapter Divisions from MP3 files.

I have several unabridged books that have one 15-20 min mp3 file per chapter. I have heard that i want to keep audiobook file sizes below 320MB for stability reasons, so i've been breaking up the audiobooks to have 8-15 chapters per file, which yields about 5 audiobook files per book. My problem is that sometimes i want to skip a whole chapter. The program i listed above doesn't have the capability to insert chapter bookmarks/divisions.
Can someone please provide instructions or a link that shows how to take mp3 files that have 1 chapter per file, and turn them into audiobook files that have the appropriate file size for stability/quality and chapter divisions/bookmarks that i can skip to within each file?

That is used to Import from CD and also works when converting songs in iTunes.
You can convert directly when adding songs to iTunes.
If you look under the Advanced menu, there is an option to Create AAC {or whatever is set in Import settings}. This is used (as mentioned above) when converting songs in iTunes.
If you hold {Option on a Mac, not sure what it is on Windows - maybe alt}, you can select it and then select a file/folder on the HD.
This will import the songs into the library and convert them directly to the selected format. This is instead of adding the files, then converting them then deleting the original file.
Since each mp3 is a chapter, can iTunes combine multiple files/chapters into a single larger file?
No. As I noted above, I do not know of any Windows programs to do this. There are a few available for Mac.

On a Mac, the way I like to do it is to start by generating a PDF from INDD. Open the PDF in Apple's "Preview" app. Ctrl+P. There are all sorts of options for layout — including "Pages per Sheet" under the layout option in the menu. Then, at the bottom left-hand of the print dialog box, you'll see the PDF button. After you've made your page-layout decisions, click PDF and choose your options for PDF delivery.
In the instance documented with the attached graphics, I selected "Mail PDF." The thumbnailed PDF is created and attached to a new email.

Cannot create shortcut with FF icon from bookmarks - comes up IE icon why

Trying to create a shortcut for yahoo mail login on my desktop but every time I try it puts an icon with an Internet Explorer icon not a Firefox icon. When I click on the icon it opens up to the yahoo login but in Internet explorer not Firefox. Tried going to bookmarks in Firefox and dragging to my desktop but it still comes up with IE icon.

The Finder reports File information. The date and time of the photo are in the Photo's Exif metadata. The Finder has no awareness of this. All photos apps on any system do.

Disk Utility 'Disk Image from Folder' looses file create date?

Hi,
I have been working on creating backups that maintain the files' create dates. I have found the following anomoly using Disk Utility.
If I create a Disk Image From Folder, the create dates of all files are changed to be the same as the last modify dates. Not what I want.
If I creat a Blank Disk Image, and then using Finder to copy the files to the Disk Image, the create dates remain unchanged.
I can then burn the backup CD's with the Disk Image and the files' create dates are maintained. So, future restore from the backup CD will contain the original files' create dates.
Does anyone know if Disk Utility's Create Disk Image from Folder is supposed to loose the files' create dates? What other file attributes are being lost? Mac OS X maintains all of these attributes, and create dates via Finder copies, I would expect the Disk Utility Create Disk Image from Folder to do the same.

To follow up on this post, I know at least part of the answer. The difference between the two becomes clearer if you read the documentation (man pages) for hdiutil and asr. Image 1 will be created in file mode, whereas image 2 will be in block mode, ie bypassing the file system. Image 1 will consist of a series of files, whereas image 2 will contain a series of blocks, mirroring the original layout of the hard disk.
Technically the latter should be faster to restore (in block mode), although Apple recommend the first procedure (see man page for hdiutil). I haven't seen any evidence that images created in block mode can be mounted or restored, although you might be able to burn such images to a optical disks if applicable.
As I've pointed out in another thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1508199&tstart=0) I believe that this functionality should not be offered in disk utility, and I consider it a serious bug.

In Mavericks, how do I create an alias to my home folder, complete with the little house icon, to put on my desktop, please? I can get the folder, but not with the icon.

Open Finder. Under Preferences > Sidebar > Devices > check Hard disks.
Navigate to your home folder from "Macintosh HD" (or whatever the name of your boot volume is) in the finder. Set the view to column.
Once you reach the path of your home folder, select it, hold down the key combination option + command and drag the alias to your desktop.
