Create CLOB from string not coming from ResultSet

I need to populate a preparedStatement parameter
using setClob(). The data which goes into the parameter
is a String. I need to convert the string to a Clob. How do
I do this? The String is over 4000 characters long and
will be entered into an Oracle CLOB field.
Any tips?

The Oracle JDBC documentation has a section on using Blobs and Clobs that should answer your question:

  • Business System Not coming up in configuration

    Hi All,
I am new to SAP XI.
I was  trying to create a scenario for transfering the data from IDOC on to an flat file. The business system which I created in SLD is not coming up while assigning the same in the configuration part.
    I had the following doubts:
1.When the IDOC is send from the ECC system the business system needs to be configured to ECC,right?
2.If the above statement is true, can you please suggest the reason why it is not coming up in the configuration part?Is there any way to find what the reason would be?
    Regards,
    Rupesh.

    Hi,
Business system needs to be created in XI SLD.
You have to done following configuration for Idoc scenario:
    - Sender system:
SALE (define logical system, model configuration etc) /people/swaroopa.vishwanath/blog/2007/01/22/ale-configuration-for-pushing-idocs-from-sap-to-xi
    - XI system
SM59 RFC destination for sender system
    IDX1/IDX2 port and metadata.

  • Data not coming from DOE to Mobile After defining Rule for device attribute

    Hi All,
I have created a DO and rule for it.In case of Bulk Rule for all definition when i triggere extract from Portal then all the data comes to outbound queue but when i define rule for Device attribute then no data comes to my Outboun queue. Here is the scenario what i am doing :
    1. I have order header in my backend which has a field named "Work_Center" and this will be criteria field.
    2. In CDS table i have all the records for all the work center.
    3. Now in RMM under customized , i have added an attribute named "Work_center".
    4. Now i defined a rule with Device attribute mapping and activated the rule.
    5. Now on Portal i assigned this data object and in the device attribute tab i assigned the value(this value exist in CDS table for few orders) of a   Work center to the attribute "Work_Center" .
    6. Then i triggrere extract but its Outbound queue is empty, what could be the reason.
    Is my approach is correct
    Regards,
    Abhishek

    Hi Abhishek,
You can check one ore thing, after you have performed all the steps till step 5, i.e. just before triggering
extract. Check if the AT table for ur DO has entries based on the criteria specified by you...
    1. In the workbench click on the Data Object, and then right click and select "View Metadata".
    2. Select Distribution Model tab.
    3. Now select your DO's Association table.
    4. For the input field DEVICE ID specify your corresponing device id,and also for status field specify it
        as "I"  and execute
If there are any entries now in the AT table, and on triggering extract if they are not coming to the
outbound Q there is some EXTRACT Q blocked. And is there were no entries in the AT then the rule
    specified is not  the satifying.
    Thanks,
    Swarna

  • System is not coming up in MSCS environment after offline backup from DB13

    Hi All,
SAP system is not coming up after DB offline backup from DB13.
Here are the details of system. SAP XI 3.0 SR1 NW04 running on Microsoft clustered environment windows 2003 and Oracle 9.2.0.6.
    My observations:-
    1. All the services of cluster admin was up except XE1.World when DB offline backup completed (executed through DB13).
    2. services.msc entry OracleXE1920TNSListener (automatic start) and OracleServiceXE1 (automatic start) was down.
and sqlplus "/as sysdba" was failing with ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error.
Please note gw/netstat_once parameter is alredy there with value 0.
Further I would like to add, when I started cluster admin service XE1.World by right click - bring online, services.msc entry OracleServiceXE1 came up, but OracleXE1920TNSListener was still down, then I started listener from cmd mode lsnrctl start.
    Kindly suggest.

  • Error in create-nodeset-from-delimited-string

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to use the orcl:create-nodeset-from-delimited-string XPath extension function in the XSL mapper.
I am using the Map test feature to test my map, and notice that if I use this function, the XSL does not give any output - i guess the map is failing to execute at runtime. When I open the JDeveloper as jdev.exe [so that I can see the command line window for JDev], I can see that an error appears in the command line window that states "Method orcl:create-nodeset-from-delimited-string" not found.
This XPath function is available for use in the "Advanced Functions" palette in the XSL Mapper.
    Please let me know if
    a) This function can be used within the Mapper, and if so,
    b) whats the right way to use it.
    My usage looks like
    orcl:create-nodeset-from-delimited-string('tns:sampeNode',$delimVar,',')
where delimVar is a comma delimited string.
Please let me know your thoughts on this .
    rgds,

  • Having problems creating PDF from website with query-string URLs

I have a website that I would like to create a PDF from. I am using the Create -> PDF from Web Page..., selecting the site's home page, and capturing 2 levels, with "stay on same path" and "stay on same server" checked in order to limit the scope of the crawl.
Where the pages are at example.com/foo/ and example.com/foo/bar/, this works fine. However, where the pages are at example.com/foo/ and example.com/foo/?p=1, the page represented by the query string URL is not converted to the PDF.
This is a problem, given that the site I want to archive as a PDF uses query strings for most of its pages.
I have been able to individually convert a single query-string-based page into a PDF using this method, but doing this for every page on the site would be almost impossible given the sheer number of pages on the site.
Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround other than separately capturing each page (which would be prohibitive effort)?
I have tried this in both Acrobat Pro X and Acrobat Pro 9 for Mac, with the same results.

Remember, Acrobat is a 32-bit application and as such cannot access all that 'extra' stuff.
    Be well...

  • Tables are not coming to oracle model from sqlserver 2000 while using OMWB

    Hi,
I am using oracle migration workbench to migrate SQL Server 2000 to oracle 9i. When capture source database and create the oracle model is run. only tablespace and users coming to Oracle model from sql server. Table are not coming. These table are owned by dbo in sql server and
All other users in the database has full privilege on this tables. Do I need to some setup to get this tables
    In oracle model.
    Thanks
    Harish

    Try the following
    || This script sets the "dbo" to have the "sa" login.
    || NOTE: Server settings for the SQL Server instance must be set to
    ||"Allow modifications to be made directly to the system catalogs".
    || This is found under Server Setttings tab for server properties.
    UPDATE sysusers
SET sid = (SELECT sid FROM master..sysxlogins WHERE name = 'sa')
    WHERE name = 'dbo'

  • Managed Server is Not coming UP from STARTING state

Managed Server is Not coming UP from STARTING state

    Hi,
    Please try the following options:
    1) Apply -D_Offline_FileDataArchive=true
The WebLogic Diagnostics Framework creates the diagnostic store (DAT) file which is used for different purposes. The initial size of the store file is about 1M.
Here are the details of the parameter suggested: -D_Offline_FileDataArchive=true
The above parameter is a (undocumented and unsupported) system property that disables WLDF indexing on the log file.
Engineering has delivered an undocumented system property to disable the file archive indexing task (-D_Offline_FileDataArchive=true),
This property will disable incremental as well as full indexing of WLDF archiving, if property is not properly applied, you can see a File Indexer timer kicks in for every 30 seconds.
    2) WLW page-flow event reporter may be creating several entries in the diagnostics store
    apply -Dcom.bea.wlw.netui.disableInstrumentation=true
    3) Disable JDBC profiling. (Under JDBC/datasource_name/diagnostics uncheck all the options there)
If JDBC profiling is turned on, it inserts profiling data into the diagnostic store, which can cause it to grow.
    4) Disable Harvesting (change the value for Profile Harvest Frequency Seconds to zero)
    5) try setting the "synchronous-write-policy" parameter in the server configuration to "Cache-Flush". This bypasses the "direct I/O" code in the file store.
Servers--->Configuration--->Services--->Default Store you can set the synchronous-write-policy to Cache-Flush
    Synchronous Write Policy:
The disk write policy that determines how the file store writes data to disk.
This policy also affects the JMS file store's performance, scalability, and reliability. The valid policy options are:
    * Direct-Write
File store writes are written directly to disk. This policy is supported on Solaris, HP-UX, and Windows. On Windows systems, this option generally performs faster than the Cache-Flush option writes.
    * Disabled
Transactions are complete as soon as their writes are cached in memory, instead of waiting for the writes to successfully reach the disk. This policy is the fastest, but the least reliable (that is, transactionally safe). It can be more than 100 times faster than the other policies, but power outages or operating system failures can cause lost and/or duplicate messages.
    * Cache-Flush
Transactions cannot complete until all of their writes have been flushed down to disk. This policy is reliable and scales well as the number of simultaneous users increases.

  • Need to return CLOB as String type from SQL query

I have a table that contains a CLOB column, which should be accessible to a JDBC client (JReports) that does not understand how to extract CLOB from a result set.
A possible workaround would be to translate the CLOB type into a normal string on the database side as part of the SQL query (or a view), so that the client can handle it. For that to work, we would need a type conversion within the query itself.
    Rather then
    SELECT clob_column FROM my_table
    we would need something like
    SELECT to_char(clob_column) FROM my table
Unfortunately to_char does not work, but possibly there are other ways to achieve it.
    null

    Hi Christo
Works fine. Just had to change the parameter order:
DBMS_LOB.substr(clob_column,4000,1) converts the CLOB to a VARCHAR
    Thanks a lot,
    Thomas

    Hi,
When a Mac is "registered" for iMessages account with an Apple ID the Serial Number of the Mac is used to create an Auth Token as it is called for the Messages app that allows that Mac to work.
I would guess a similar process of linking the Number of the iPhone to a Hardware fact about the device is also in place.
I would contact Apple Support and check with them.  (you might need to speak to a Level 2 person as Level 1 people are script led and try to fit everything into Software or Hardware categories where as sorting and Apple ID (which the Number is in this case) is normally Free).
I did find this iOS: Troubleshooting Messages - Apple Support
It starts off about sorting SMS that is not working.
This one has a bit on Unlinking an iPhone Number (with or without the iPhone) iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage - Apple Support
