Create File Table for Existing UNC Paths ?
Hi,
I have a files with in the server ( //Server1/Folder1) and (//server1/Folder2).
Now If I am create FileTable Database in the server ( server2 ) and how can I give filename path ?
Example :
I am going to create FileTableDB database in the server2 , it contains directory 'D:\'
CREATE DATABASE FileTableDB
ON PRIMARY
(Name = FileTableDB,
FILENAME = 'D:\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\DATA\FileTable\FTDB.mdf'),
FILEGROUP FTFG CONTAINS FILESTREAM
(NAME = FileTableFS,FILENAME='\\Server1\Main\cfs')
LOG ON
(Name = FileTableDBLog,FILENAME = 'D:\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\DATA\FileTable\FTDBLog.ldf')
WITH FILESTREAM (NON_TRANSACTED_ACCESS = FULL,DIRECTORY_NAME = N'FileTableDB');
GO
If I run above query then I am getting an error is " cannot be used for FILESTREAM files."
Please help me to solve this..
Hi Narsa,
The FILESTREAM data container for a database must be placed on an NTFS volume on locally-connected storage. Just like database data and log files, the directory cannot be on a UNC share. Even if you use UNC it will not work. FILESTREAM can be setup only
for locally attached storage (locally for the server).
There are more information about enabling and using FILESTREAM, you can review the following article.
http://lennilobel.wordpress.com/2010/12/12/sql-server-2008-filestream-part-2-of-3-enabling-and-using-filestream-2/

Problem in creating new versions for existing DIR using CV01N
I am working in SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 4.0 system.
I have problem in creating new versions for existing DIR using CV01N
I create a DIR version 00 with functional location and mpd cycles. Then when i try to create a new version by copying the contents created from already created document.I change the MPD cycles in the new version and save it.
once when i display the first document created the mpdcycle specified in version 01 is copied to the 00 version.
The document is inconsistent where versioning of document doesnot work properly wrt MPDCYCLE and MP HEADER.
The problem which i found was the document identification guid remains the same for all the document versions getting created.
The same is working fine in SAP ERP6.0 EHP3.0 sytem.
Please someone help me in resolving the above issue.
Regards,
Prasad.BThere is a change in the standard code. The reason for the above problem was because of a missing Enhancemnet point in a standard function module 'CV110_DOC_CREATE_WITH_TEMPLATE'.
IS-ADEC-MPD - Enhancement to copy MPD data
ENHANCEMENT-POINT CV110_DOC_CREATE_WTEMPL_01 SPOTS ES_SAPLCV110.

Created a custom enhancement point similar to SAP ECC6.0 EHP 3.0 system.
The reason was the buffer was not getting cleared previously. After inserting the above code the DIR's are getting created withot any issues.

Create new mailbox for existing users?
Hi All,
I am new to JNDI concepts. I need to create new mailbox for existing users in domino directory. is it possible?
Scenario is : I have some users in domino directory. They dont have mail account now. I want to create it.

Thanks,
RamHi,
You can try LSMW (Direct method) for uploading class values.
Upload file can hae following structure:
OBJEK | ATINN | KLART | ATWRT
Release Grou+Release strategy | Characteristic name | Class type | Class Value
e.g. rel grp is PO, rel strategy is 01, characteristic name is EBAN_EKORG, and class value is 1000 then
OBJEK | ATINN | KLART | ATWRT
PO01 | EBAN_EKORG | 032 | 1000
multiple characterstics can be
OBJEK | ATINN | KLART | ATWRT
PO01 | EBAN_EKORG | 032 | 1000
PO01 | EBAN_EKGRP | 032 | 100

Can I create File Formats for Bank Transfers?
Hello Everyone!
I need to know if Sap B1 2007A allow me to create File Formats for bank transfers in outgoing payments. I¨m in Colombia, South America, and working as Chile does.
It is available documentation related to this issue?
Thanks very much
Claudia
Edited by: Darius Heydarian on May 6, 2008 5:28 PM
Edited by: Philip Eller on May 20, 2008 9:10 AMKerstin,
Thanks for the information.
I might be wrong, but I understood that SAP did allow you to create dll files for this purpose. In the Document Resource Center in the Add-ons section, click on Payment Engine. There is a document called
'Payment Engine Plug-in Development Guide in Release 6.5'.
Claudia - you might want to see if this document is any use for you.
Although the name shows release 6.5, this document still appears for both 2005 and 2007.
I also checked 2007A and it still has the prompt for File Format.
As I said, I might be wrong, because I do not know anyone who has tried to create a plug-in, but if this is not for creating your own dll files, do you know what it is for?
Let me know what you think.

Does one custom table more or less really matter? If you really want delete it, delete the table in DEV which will put it into a new transport and get that transport moved to TEST. -
How do I calculate the size of files that I have UNC paths for
I am on SQL Server 2008 R2. I have a table that contains a field called [Location]. In that field is a UNC path to the physical file on the repository. Is there a way in SQL Server that I can say give me the select sum([Location] UNC file) where criteria?
I saw some posts about xp_filesize or xp_GetFileDetails, but I do not see them in master. I am unable to add anything and wondering if there is any native functionality that would allow me to accomplish this!? Thanks.Maybe you can use an Excel Macro for this kind of thing.

There is a color control on the front panel numerics palette. A color
in LV is a four byte xRGB formatted number. So you can make an array of
the color numerics and set them by hand or format the numbers however
you like. If unwired it will use the LV color palette which is pretty
much the HTML palette.

How to create a partiotion for existing table
Hi,
There ia one table in database with data. I want to create a partion for this table. data loss of data is not an issue.
Please provide the query for this.
Regards,
VenkiAn existing non-partitioned table cannot be partitioned. You will have to create a new, partitioned table and move the data (if you care to keep it) from the old table to the new table, potentially followed by dropping the old table and renaming the new table to use the old table name.
If you do not have a downtime window to accomplish this, you can use DBMS_REDEFINITION to assist. That, however, is just adding a bit of extra complexity on top of the basic procedure in order to support users accessing the table while you're building the new table. Unless your downtime window is insufficient to accomplish the move manually, I wouldn't bother with DBMS_REDEFINITION.

Unable to create File System Repository using Network Path
Hi All,
I am trying to create a File System Repository.
I created a networkpath and windows system and used the same while creating File Repository according to the steps in help.
With out using Networkpath(i.e.,If I use IP address,I am able to create File System Repository).
But with the network path,it throws the following error as seen in Component Monitor.
<b>Startup Error: The localroot does not exist: C:\usr\sap\IGTE\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\NWP_001
My network path is NWP_001
</b>
Did any one face this problem?
Any help please........
Rgds,
SanthoshHi,
I am getting the same error even if I replace(\) by slashes(/).
I tried on EP6SP12 as well as EP6SP2 and got the same error on both.
The repository is searching for a folder named with
n/w path on the portal server itself(i.e, it is searching in the following folder
<b>C:\usr\sap\IGTE\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\NWP_001
My network path is NWP_001</b>),instead of searching on the remote system.
Can any one help me in solving the problem
Thanks in Advance.

Audit logs on Windows 2008 works different when file is modified from UNC path
Hello All,
Here i have a strange situation with the generation of audit logs when folders\files are changed locally(my computer) on the server (vs) from the UNC path
(\\servername\drive$\folder\....).
File Server : Windows 2008 R2.
Audting enabled and SACL set on the folder level.
Enabled advanced auditing for Audit Object Access and enabled the force sub category audit settings on vista \ window 2008 policy via GPO and also verified that the sub category is set.
also set SACL on one folder on the R drive. (\\servername\r$\<folder>\<audited folder>
auditpol /get /category:"Object Access"
Object Access : File System
Success and Failure
Situation : 1
When i make any manipulations (traversing \ listing \ adding or deleting folder or files) on the server locally from my computer ---> . r drive --> folder --> audited folder , i get the event id generated (4663) with all the correct
information.
For ex: created a new txt file.
Object: Object Server: Security, Object Type: File, Object Name: R:\Audits1\folder1\New Text Document.txt, Handle ID: 0xcb4
Process Information: Process ID: 0x1bac , Process Name: C:\Windows\explorer.exe
Access Request Information: Accesses: WriteData (or AddFile) AppendData (or AddSubdirectory or CreatePipeInstance) , Access Mask: 0x6
Situation : 2
When i make the same manipulations (traversing \ listing \ adding or deleting folder or files) on the server or remotely via the UNC path \\servername\r$\folder\audited folder or DFS share or \\servername\<sharename>
, i dont get the event id generated (4663) with the needed information.
For ex: created a new txt file.
Object: Object Server:
Security , Object Type:File ,
Object Name:
R:\Audits1\folder1\New Rich Text Document (3).rtf , Handle ID:
0xa3c
Process Information: Process ID: 0x4, Process Name:
Access Request Information:
Accesses: WriteData(or addfile), Access Mask: 0x100
In the second situation process name is empty (for the file events) and also found that the logs generated are very less compared to the first situation.
Please suggest if there is any fix with this.
Thanks,Enable the following auditing on the server either through domain
policy or local policy:
Audit logon events - Success
Audit Object Access - Success
On the Auditing tab, add Everyone with the following audit settings. -
Unable to see the file share content via UNC path
I have run a cmd command to modify the NTFS permissions on a few home directories.
That command has helped me to remove all from the ACL of shared folders; and add domain admins into it.
I am an admin on that Windows server. Now, whenever I try to access any home directory via UNC path; it doesn't displays the files and folders in it. But, if I go to the server and try to open the particular home directory from there...first it gives me
a prompt that I currently do not have access on folder and then gives me an option to click on continue and then I can access the files and folders within the directory.
I am also able to see the files and folders in the directory via UNC path after doing the above steps.
Can somebody help me understand what I did wrong here and how can this be resolved now?Sorry, am added into local administratir group. But, NTFS permissions shows that I have only "read" and "change" permissions (I have checked this from effective permissions).
The ACL of folder shows only "Domain Admins" have full access and I am not a part of AD group "Domain Admins". I think this is the root cause of the issue.
I am running below mentioned command to give myself full access on the file shares without making any changes to the current ACL of all shared folders. However, it is not working and not even throwing any error message.
for /f %i in (u:\users.txt) do cacls \\hdfile01\users$\%i /C /G "AMadm":F
users.txt contains 'cn'. Another thing to notice here is that if I just keep one ID in .txt file and then run my command; it is working. But its not running for all users in loop.
Can somebody please help. -
How do i change the HTML file names for existing index
Hi,
How do i change my existing HTML file names for indexes. The Html file name is disabled when we click on properties.
Ex: Index Keywork : Architecture
Old HTML Page/URL =: Architecture.htm
I want to change Old HTML Page/URL =: Architecture.htm to architecture_new.htm
Please find the screenshot attached. That's because you are looking at the Properties and that is not how you create index entries.
Highlight the Index keyword ("Paste" in this example). It shows below what is already linked. If you delete that, the keyword will be displayed in bold to show no keyword is attached. You can add further keywords by dragging them from the Topic List.

Oracle SQL Developer - File, Open , File Name Not Accept UNC Path Form
In Oracle SQL Developer, at least the File, Open (Dialog's), the File Name (if not all File / Directory Name) Text Box(es) is (are) not accepting, at least for me, the UNC Path Form of Folders on Network Servers. The same UNC Path (or UNC Paths in general) works in the File / Directory Name Text Box of every other Windows App I've tried (from Windows 95 to Windows 7). Is there a way to do this? If not, was it intentional and where can I suggest this as a fix / enhancement?
I'm using Windows XP w/ SP3.DUH! I figured out what happened. In my first search, I searched (using "Actions", "Filter", "Column" option) for "Title Contains 'UNC'" which didn't find anything because the single-quotes were considered literals (which isn't consistent with the "Row" option or with the technical SQL syntax one would expect given technical operators like "!=", pffft, "!="??? Really???). Then, all subsequent searches returned nothing, because all previous searches are combined with implied "And" Operators until you select "Actions", "Reset" (which isn't consistent with any Web / Desktop App search feature I've ever seen). Don't get me wrong. The latter is a great feature. It just needs to be documented better.
It probably wouldn't hurt to: a) include easily visible tips on whether single / double quotes are needed and b) show an "And" Operator in front of each previous search listed so people won't mistake it for simply a Search Criteria History vs. Current Search Criteria, oh and add a heading that labels it as, oh, IDK, "Current Search Criteria", maybe? IDK, call me crazy (or just another stupid user posing as a developer with 16 years experience ;). -
