Create header row or col from normal cells?

when importing old excel tables it would make life much easier if there was a possibility to convert an existing row to a header row or an exisiting column to a header column. Unfortunately i can't find anything like it. Is there something which i did not see?

A similar question came up just yesterday in the Pages forum. Here is what I wrote in reply:
I can't figure out if a row can be converted to a header row, similar to locking title position in AppleWorks, in either Pages or Numbers. Locked title position in an AppleWorks spreadsheet is not recognized as a header row in Numbers (must go leave feedback on that one - done, & added the bit about converting to a header row/column). I could, though, add the header row & then drag the first row into the header row & delete the now empty first row. Because copying the text also copied the filler color, I used the fill color option in the object inspector to color the cells in that row.

Numbers '08 - Why can't I put a formula in the header row? i.e. in cell H1 =SUM(H2:H46)

When I try to add the SUM formula to H1 and press ENTER, the formula automatically moves to every cell within column H and disappears from H1. If I instead press the Function icon then SUM, while in the H1 cell, the formula automatically moves to the last cell in the H column.

Applying a Formula Once to Cells in a Column or Row
When a table has header cells, you can use them to quickly apply a formula to all the
cells in a row or column. The values in the cells are recomputed using the formula. This
formula is called a header formula.
To apply a header formula to cells in a column or row:
1 Select the header cell for the column or row.
2 Open the Formula Editor. For example, type the equal sign (=).
3 Type the formula you want to apply to each cell in the column or row.
For example, to assign values to the cells of column C that are five times greater than
the corresponding cell in column B, you’d use the formula B*5 or B:B*5.
The formula is duplicated in all the cells in the column or row. In this example, cell C4
would contain the value computed by using the formula B4*5.
4 Click the Accept button or press Return or Enter to save the formula.

Creating Axes Titles, Chart Titles from Sheet Cells

Hi all,
I'm trying to create a completely automated document from Numbers 09. I'd like my chart to grab its category, x-axis and y-axis titles from text placed in cells within the spreadsheet. Although I could create an AppleScript to do this on my Mac, the iPad and iPhone do not operate with AppleScript. So, how would it be possible to make a self-contatined Numbers 09 doc such that whether I use the sheet on my Mac or iPhone, a chart's titles for the x-axis, y-axis and chart come from data contained in a spreadsheet's cells?

The only difference is the left definition for
mx:CartesianChart. When it's defined in terms of the width of the
legend, the axis titles disappear. Is there another way that I
should be displaying my chart using the full span of the

Hyperlink from a cell to text in Pages

Hi everyone,
Here's my problem,
I'd like to create a kind of hyperlink from a cell in a table in a Pages doc, so that the number in the cell automatically copy where I want in the doc.
Ex: you want to copy an number from a cell and paste it in a sentence so that you only have to change the number in the cell.
Does anyone know how to do it?

Nice! I was puzzled to know how it would work in Pages (your original post). I see that you have used Numbers to do this, with some of the Table (Tableau) borders white.

Now I know what you were trying to do, I found that this will also work in Pages with the same formulas:
Here with all borders black:
Cost cells formatted in Inspector > Table > Format > Currency > Euro

JTable with row header plus value extraction from headers

Hi, I am trying to do the following:
Short Version-
1. Create a table that has both row and column headers
2. Allow the user to mouse over any of these headers such that doing so will display an image I have produced on a panel. (I already know how to create the image and how to display it, I'm just not sure how to associate it with a particular row or column header)
3. Make the row headers look as much as possible like the column headers.
Slightly Longer Version-
Column headers will be labled A-H (maximum) while row headers will be labled 1-12 (maximum). Either can be less, however, depending on user input. After the table has been realized, the user will move the mouse over say, header 'H' and when they do, a JPEG image will appear on another panel and a tooltip will appear above the cell showing a formula. This happens when either row or column headers are moused over.
Currently, I am using the following code from the O'reilly Swing book as a baseline for experimentation but any help you can offer will be appreciated. I'm fairly new to the JTable world... :-(

How to know the row and col numbers of a cell in JTable at mouseclicked

Hi, I'm coding an app using swing and JTable, in this table I will display the records from a database, now, each time the user has click in any cell I want to display it value, whit this method:

How can I create a diagram where equal data from different cells will be added to one sector?

I'm a new Mac user, so I have a lot of problems and questions every day. Moving to Mac from PC is not an easy thing)
Here is my problem:
I need to create a few diagrams for my science work, but can't correct one mistake. Every time one data from one cell from the table takes its own place in the diagram. But I need to ceparate equal data to show it is one section.
An example:
Sex
Age
Female
18
Female

Female
18
Female
25
Female
30
We need to create a diagram to show that we have
60% - 18 years
20% - 25 years
20% - 30 years
But Numbers doesn't show it that way. Here how it does:

Some example data of people and their age:
The COUNTIF function will give the number of people of each age.
In another table, B2 contains this formula (and Fill Down to the bottom of B)
=COUNTIF(Table 1::B,"="&A2)
In this example, 3 people are 18 years old, 0 people are 19 years old, and so on. Use this table to calculate each age as the % of the total, then use that as the data for your diagram (graph, chart).

How to create multiple rows in a child table from the multi select Lov

We have Departments and EmployDept and Persons tables and each employee can associate multiple departments and vice versa.While creating a Department page there should be a Multi Select LOV(values from Persons table) with search option for the Persons.From the search panel we can select multiple persons for that department.Suppose we have selected 5 persons and click on submit, then it should create 5 rows in the EmployDept table for 5 persons with that department id.
Any inputs on how to implement this scenario please..

A Table that was created at Run time. A Row Properly Deleted from Table Is Still Present on Form with BindingNavigator

I have a dataset that was created at design time
but - after I run the app, it randomly creates a table based on The Users name
since I do not know the users name before had, the table is not part of my existing dataset
(I actually used an insert into sql nonquery to just make this table a copy of the masterUserTable)
Now - I have a binding navigator on my form, that is originally bound to masterUserTable, but my goal is to make it bound to the users table (let's say GabrielUserTable)
I thought I did so with this code:

I check in Visual Studio 2013 that the row was deleted from the "GabrielUserTable" (Gabriel is the current value of MyUserNameIs) by using the Server Explorer and right clicking
on the table and choosing show talbe data
But the MyMainDBBindingNavigator is still showing the item I deleted.
So after searching for answers - I created a new button for testing and added the following code to test if it would work

Me.MyMainDBBindingSource.EndEdit()
Me.TableAdapterManager.UpdateAll(Me.MyLearningDBDataSet)
but the data is still shwoing after deleting it with my NonQuery

In my option, if you want to rebind the users table to the navigator, you need to set the BindingNavigator.BindingSource. Based on your description, it seems that you did not reset the datasoure of the MyMainDBBindingNavigator. It was the original datasource
of the masterUserTable. For more details about BindingNavigator.BindingSource Property. You could refer the link below:

Sql loader does not skip header rows from the second infile

I am new to Sql Loader and trying to figure out a way to load data into the table from 2 files which have different data in the same format. The files get successfully loaded into the database with just one glitch:
Its skips first 2 rows from the first file however it takes first 2 rows from the 2nd file which I do not want. Can anyone help me with this issue? How can i restrict loader from picking up the 2 header rows from the second file as well?

1. First value of Open is item fiels in Dataset2 and this value only for first month (january). But for other month Open value get from Close in previous month.

How to apply a commandlink to an ADF Header row cell

I am implementing an ADF read only table. I have one column that I am designating as an add/delete column. In simple terms I would like the cell for this column in the header row to have a command link behind it which pops up an "Add Row" form. For each individual detail row the column will have a command link with the "Delete" function. I am having no problems with the delete.
My question is, "Does anyone have guidance on how to apply a command link to a header row cell"

Lost my iphone last month & planning to buy a ipad2 to instead as I just need the SMS message function but not phone conversation function.
So, could SMS send from a 3G ipad "imessages" app could deliver to a normal cell phone or a blackberry which doesn't have any iTune apps?

You can also use one of the many texting applications found in the App Store. They work over data so they don't require a texting plan.

Current Header Rows from FBL5N in custom report

Hi,
If you go to transaction FBL5N into settings -> Layout -> Current Header Rows, you're able to change the header outputs at the top of each ALV List. I'm trying to do the same with my custom report, but when I go to settings -> Layout, I dont have the option to choose current header rows. How can I add this feature to my custom program?

Create 2 row header in an HTML report?

Can anyone help me and take a look at my code?
The Test Data 3.vi reads in the text file, then Data Report.vi spits out a report in HTML.
I am trying to do a couple of things,
1. to duplicate a report in the exact manner it is formatted in, a double row header. (I will have to post another reply,and include the 2 jpg files of what I am trying to do.)
2.I am also trying to get 2 columns of data in one column, or to at least appear that way. It would be the 2nd and 3rd columns to one column, 4th and 5th columns into one column, and so on.
Attached is my code and text file. I am about going cross-eyed trying to figure this thing out.

Below are 2 jpg files showing what it is I am trying to do in my code. With what I have tried, it seems impossible to get it exactly the way the original report is formatted. I attempted to concatenate strings, but, all that does is run the data together rather than in nice neat columns. I tried putting to arrays into one, but that didn't work either to give me my 2 columns of data into one column.
